Planned Parenthood - Springfield Health Center

I deleted my good review from a few years ago after the experience I had at this planned parenthood today. I went in to make a simple appointment to refill my birth control. The receptionist was very apathetic and did not seem to care. Apparently, they can only see me once a year. I will be out of birth control pills for 2 days prior to the appointment they could schedule me for. So, in order for me to get more pills, I will have to be out of pills for 2 days. How does that make sense? I was given a business card for their call center without an explanation of why I couldnt make an appointment earlier. That card was torn up. I will take my healthcare needs elsewhere.

DO NOT GO HERE went for my yearly less than a month ago to AFTER being a return patient for the last 3 years. My pharmacy can’t get ahold of my doctor, I can’t get ahold of the doctor. They’re phone number just doesn’t work and they’re always closed before they actually close (7pm) I HAVE NOT HAD MY BIRTH CONTROL FOR 7 DAYS this is coming from someone who uses it to help with my PCOS. I use my birth control for my chronic pain I am suffering because of their negligence.

I typically dont write bad reviews to places. Ive been going to PP for years for Birth Control and exams. Normally have a fantastic experience and never a long wait. Today was different.... when entering in the building I was greeted nicely and referred over to front desk receptionist. While going over insurance details the receptionist became very rude and changing her tone towards me. I ask questions about payments and was willing to figure out sliding scale fees or possibly make another appointment a different day. She again raised her voice and became rude for me not comprehending immediately while we figured out the process. The lack of professionalism and just down right common courtesy baffled me. I told her to have a nice day and left.This doesnt go for all the staff or all Planned Parenthoods. But I wasnt going to start a very vulnerable process with this behavior. Someone should reprehend her. I will be making my future appointments elsewhere.

I had such an affirming experience here from everyone. Literally everyone. From when you walk in the door to when you leave everyone treats you with such compassion and care and they see for who you are truly are. 10/10 I would recommend this place for your gender affirming needs and get tested and check ups while you are there!!! Their Patient Navigator is the loveliest gal I’ve met in a while who hooked me with resources I needed. More places need to have positions like this!!!!

I was trying to get a hold of the Springfield office but instead the st Louis office answered and told me they were not affiliated with the Springfield office, couldnt give me the number or anything. I just had a couple questions and I couldnt even get those answered since I wasnt in the st Louis area. What a joke of a place for real, very disappointed.

My online portal has been inaccurate from day one with no help getting it fixed or sent to IT, no one has returned any calls thus far. I have been repeatedly told to just check my patient portal despite repeating that my patient portal is blank on my end and I have tried multiple times. I just get a huh thats weird it shows on my end response every time. Then when I say ok Cool you can see it on your end can I get any updates, can you share it to me anything they just say oh Ill have the nurse call you who never does. So they have had all of my blood work results for who knows how long but I still have 0 answers. Very frustrating. Add to that that every single time I have called Ive had more than a 10 min wait before the phone is answered. The provider was great but the admin/front desk staff have not been helpful at all and this has been my worst planned Parenthood experience to date.

I recently had a bit of a mishap attempting to get my birth control from another provider. I called PP and they had me in within days of my call and filled my prescription right there. The staff was so kind to me, I actually got several compliments from staff on my outfit 🥰 All my questions and concerns were addressed and I felt very seen by the people I interacted with. Thank you planned parenthood for ALL the things you do.

Was in to get birth control today. Made my appointment over the phone. Wait time was fast. Everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you so much for the quick and helpful process.

I went for birth control. Made the apointment over the phone. Spoke with a woman named Amanda. She was helpful and very understanding of my needs. Super friendly staff, paperwork was easy, and overall I was only there for about 40 minutes. Going in I imagined to be nervous, but I felt very comfortable after getting there. Frankie was super bubbly, sweet, and positive! Loved her attitude/personality.

Went in for my first pelvic exam and it was quick and painless. Front desk ladies were super nice. My Dr. was very informative and made me feel super comfortable. I appreciate their services and want to thank planned parenthood for being around.

Today was my very first visit to planned parenthood and i was blown away by the kindness of the staff there. Unlike my visits to my normal obgyn, I was not pressured to make a decision I was not onboard with and I was not met with any judgement. I chose planned parenthood to avoid the anxiety of having to explain myself and my decisions and I am incredibly glad I did. So thankful for places like planned parenthood.

I have been a long-time supporter of Planned Parenthood but never gone in as a patient. Today, I made my first-ever appointment after my OB couldnt get me in. The reason for my appointment was more anxiety-related than actual feminine healthcare related, but I knew I wouldnt be able to wait and my nerves were going to make me sicker even if there wasnt anything medically wrong. I made the appointment online, went in, and explained everything that was going on. The staff was very helpful, kind, and offered no judgments. My exam was quick and the doctor listened to and empathized with my concerns. I felt safer here than I do at my OB, as, by my work insurance, I am forced to go to a very religious doctor for my primary care. I felt like I could be more open about my concerns and habits and PP. I just wished Humana would work with them, as Id happily make them my primary for OBGYN needs.I went in prepared to pay out of pocket. The overall cost was minimal and worth it for the peace of mind it gave me. I heartily recommend Planned Parenthood to any person seeking nonjudgmental medical care.

Going in for birth control is painless and easy. But I tried calling recently to ask a question and no one answered the phone. I figured they were understaffed so I waited for 20 minutes on hold before giving up. I called again a couple hours later and received the same result. 40 minutes wasted. How hard is it to pick up the phone and answer a simple question? Why should I drive across town for a simple question??

Eh you could do better than this place. They werent honest about the facts and didnt really care about my situation.Its disappointing that places like this exist just to ignore you and only want to profit off of your situation.If you need help try elsewhere.

I came to Planned Parenthood after getting fed up with my gynecologist. It took months to get in to see the doctor and I was always treated with disrespect. Planned Parenthood, on the other hand, makes appointments for the same day that you call or go in. I now have a whole years worth of BC pills, it only took one hour of my time and I didnt even have to get an exam! I was treated with respect and walked away feeling empowered. The only drawback was that they didnt accept my particular insurance and I didnt qualify for any of the discounts. However, my visit was still very affordable without them.

I called around this morning to Jordan Valley and then Planned Parenthood. Jordan Valleys next available opening is the 3rd of April. I then called Planned Parenthood. They were able to get me in on this very same day. I went to planned parenthood today around 5:20ish. I was pleasantly surprised by my experience there. The staff was amazing.They were so sweet. They answered any questions and listened to any concerns I had. The front desk ladies were beyond sweet and answered any questions about birth control i could throw at them. They also engaged in conversation and were pleasant to speak with. The doctor that saw me was Dr. Carla Lantz. I cannot say enough positive things about her. She was my doctor from Jordan Valley when I was pregnant with my little one. She was as happy to see me as I was to see her. I even showed her pics of my kids. I got my old birth control removed and received the shot. It was a quick procedure. I wasnt even upset about the wait. They have a sign set up at the front desk that pretty much says just because you get there at a certain time, does not mean you will be seen in that order. At least they prepare you for a possible wait. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

I called asking whether they charged for a pregnancy test. I am unemployed with no savings and they said they could only do urine tests with no financial assistance. I asked if they could refer me somewhere and they said no, have a nice day, goodbye and hung up. Very rude and there are other places in Springfield, MO that will help pregnant women for free.

Amazing staff! I went in for a breast exam and i was terrified honestly. They all made me feel so much better. Thank you all so much. Their office was clean and had a very welcoming vibe. Would recommended to any and everyone

I had a fabulous experience and felt super comfortable. This is such a safe space to talk about womens health without any judgements in order to make a responsible choice for my body. I appreciated how kind and wonderful the staff were. What you do over there is a labor of love!

Everyone is so nice and comforting! Easiest way to receive reproductive health care ever, of all time. I used to hate going to my gynecologist (any gyno Ive ever had in the past, the appointments took forever to get, took forever to see the doctor, rude, never helped me and gave me birth control that made everything worse over and over never taking what I said into account, etc) but Planned Parenthood was an absolute pleasure.

The staff are always so friendly and welcoming, and they make you feel safe and secure. I have never had to wait for very long and the cost is very reasonable and wonderful for people who do not have insurance. I would highly recommend this health center, they truly care about their patients.

If you want to get help within a week(potentially next day) and you want the most affordable prices anywhere this is the place to go. Most OBGYN offices take months to get an appointment, are NOT transparent about prices and they charge very high rates that those with high deductibles or insufficient coverage could never afford.

Always incredibly knowledgeable and compassionate staff. I am so grateful and proud to be a long time patient of Planned Parenthood, no matter what age or stage in my life.

Made appointment online which is super handy, verified insurance and everything. Showed up, waited in lobby only to be told at front desk that they cant take my insurance. What good is a website if not accurate? Wasted time and resources. They do great things here but please be more accurate on your website

Everyone at the Springfield Planned Parent Hood was friendly and supportive the whole experience. I am 15 and had to go in alone because of COVID and they made it a very safe and easy environment. I don’t feel worried at all to go back in the future.

Every time I have gone there or spoken to them on the phone, more than 5 times over the last few years, I have been treated rudely and the staff talks down to you, could not care less about you, dont want to be there. I was recently told I should probably find somewhere else to go because Im married and my husband makes too much money for me to go there. Not a pleasant experience. Only go there if you absolutely cant afford somewhere else.

Do not go through planned parenthood for any gender affirmation care!!!! Do not do it!!! Please find a doctor or anywhere else. They will make appointments and then overbook not once but 4 times over. They do not care about helping people.
