Emily Blanton, MD

Doctor Blanton is a nice lady but I’m not convinced she has her patients best interests at heart - if you have a tiny blip on your pap she’ll call for unnecessary procedures to collect insurance checks and over books herself (clearly to collect more insurance checks) such that it’s a nightmare to schedule with her … and even when you do get an appointment be prepared to be there for hours waiting around while she’s sees the 12 other patients she booked in the same slot as you. She has great bedside manner and that had me fooled for a while that she was a great doctor.I had to pay thousands of dollars in unnecessary procedures that my new OBGYN was APPALLED to learn she put me through - multiple unnecessary biopsies, a LEEP, biopsies way too soon after the LEEP that produced inaccurate results that helped her attempt to justify ANOTHER leep procedure. I went to a hospital to get a second opinion before having more of my cervix removed (which would make me a high risk pregnancy in the future …. More $$$$ for doctor Blanton though as a high risk pregnancy patient… you see the trend here???) and THANK GOD I did that because they told me everything about dr blanton’s approach and response to my situation was completely misguided in incorrectshe is also NEVER available when you need her - appointments need to be booked 6-12m out even if you’ve had a serious procedure with her and you can’t just call her with post op questions you have to go through her portal and wait days for a response.Again, dr Blanton is a nice lady and if you have no gynecological issues, I’m sure she seems like the sweetest and best doctor in the world but the second something abnormal comes up I highly recommend finding a new doctor

Dr. Blanton is the best doctor Ive had! Extremely professional and caring. I feel very secure and comfortable in her care. My concerns are taken seriously, and I feel fully and informed and empowered in making decisions about my health. Very grateful to have her as a doctor

I have been seeing Dr. Blanton for several years now and she is one of the best doctors I have ever had - knowledgeable, caring, gentle and understanding. She goes above and beyond to ensure her patients are comfortable and treated uniquely. I highly recommend her and the broader practice.

Dr. Blanton is the best doctor I have ever had - hands down. After several years of experience with judgmental, old-fashioned, and even nasty gynecologists in NYC, I found Dr Blanton 3 years ago and have never been happier. She is extremely responsive to urgent medical requests (even within 8 hours) - for visits or prescriptions. She actually listens to you and cares deeply about your issues - and believes you when you say you are in pain. I cannot recommend her enough. She is exemplary of what all doctors SHOULD be like in the United States.

The experience I had with my visit with Dr.Emily Blanton was beyond pleasant! She really took the time to listen to my problem and really dive into my history before my exam. She answered all my questions after and had wonderful bedside manager. She is patient, kind, thorough, and professional! I had to wait sometime for my visit because she is high demand and I can see the reason why. She really carries herself in a way I believe ALL doctors should.

I visited the Maiden Lane Medical Center on 3/16/2022 at 90 Maiden Lane in New York City. I came in to see Dr. Emily Blanton for my annual examination. The office is vey clean , the staff is super friendly. Dr. Blanton is an excellent professional. Her bedside manners are superb. She is very attentive and thorough, and vey gentle, too. Made me completely at ease. I don’t leave in the city, but making a trip anyway, because it’s worth it.

My experience with Dr. Blanton was amazing! She took time to explain all of the lab work and also talked through her findings while doing my ultrasound. Very attentive, non-judgmental and shows compassion. I’m happy I’ve found her!

I wasnt going to share a review on this Doc because I already said what I needed to say to her.....but I mean sharing is caring. She definitely needs to work on her bedside manner, courteousness, and regard for people. She was late to appt and rush through not leaving any room for you to respond to questions. She explains things like she is a telemarketer so you feel like a customer than a patient. I tried giving her the benefit of the doubt but I got the feeling she really is overwhelmed and deliberately being rude to turn new patients away. I would not recommend her.

I have to disagree with the below review. Ive been seeing Dr Emily Blanton for over a year and shes absolutely great. Shes not just super friendly and approachable with amazing bedside manners but also very caring. She always takes her time with me. I feel comfortable talking to her about everything. I would absolutely recommend her.

Absolutely the best doctor there is! Dr. Blanton makes you feel comfortable and informs you of everything she does and all medical lingo. She truly cares for her patients. I feel so lucky to have found a doctor as wonderful as her.

From the front desk to the doctor. Everyone is very welcoming, attentive, and nice. Dr. Blanton really takes her time to listen to all my concerns and answers all my questions I may have. She is a wonderful doctor.

Dr. Blanton has an excellent bedside manner. Respectful care and patient education are the key stones of her practice. I plan to keep her as my OB/GYN for a very long time.

Best Gynecologist I’ve ever had, hands down. Dr. Blanton thoroughly explains everything, takes her time in appointments and is very personable. The nurses I have had are just as good. Could not recommend this place more!

Ive just started seeing Dr. Blanton but I am very happy and impressed so far. She is very thoughtful and thorough and explains everything very carefully so you understand your options and possible side effects fully before making a decision.

After 3 visits in a span of 2 months, I will never be returning to Soho Gynecology. I allotted one star simply b/c my initial experience was great with Dr Blume. However, after returning & seeing Dr Blanton (more than once), my experience at soho gynecology was mediocre. They are impersonal, inconsistent, & inconsiderate. Contacting the doctor always proves to be a hard task, b/c they refer everyone to using the portal. They also omit information as far as what you are being charged for, & what necessary steps need to be taken prior to the visit. They look for any reason to have you come without regard to your money, or insurance (after my yearly exam, I have to pay partial out of pocket for visits). I was able to self diagnose & when I brought the information I found to Dr Blanton, turns out she was a specialist in the matter but failed to mention that to me during my visits with her, although I was showing CLEAR signs of the condition. Lastly, I work in the city & usually set my appointments to happen during my lunch. The wait time is excessive and you feel rushed in your visit. Overall, this just was not the spot/ doctor for me.
