HealthCARE Express Urgent Care - Richmond Road, TX

I dont know what it is about this place but every time I go no matter how unbusy or busy they are it takes hours to get out. So dont go on your lunch break and expect to get in and get out. Which working 2 jobs from 4:45am to 8pm was my only option. The receptionists had me standing in line staring at them for 20 minutes without so much as a Hey Ill be with you in just a moment. My co pay is $75 which I totally understand isnt their fault. But that being said I was there for 3 hours paid $75 and was told I have the flu but Ive waited too long to be seen and there is nothing we can do for you. Come back if youre still sick next Friday and pay another $75? I think not. Mind you my first symptoms started the 12/22/24 I went in to be seen 12/27/24 and honestly didnt know it was flu. I had just been sick 11/26/24-12/10/24 with an upper respiratory infection and laryngitis. Tested negative for Flu the entire time. I genuinely just thought I hadnt gotten over it the first time cause same symptoms.

The staff at HealthCare Express were very friendly and projected a positive atmosphere. The check-in process was quick and painless. The clinic is clean and well kept which always makes you more comfortable. The staff is exceptional and they truly stand out for their compassionate and thorough approach to pt care. Wonderful experience Dr.Jerry was so great v with my child. Very kid-friendly. The receptionist was so kind and let me charge my phone while we waited. Would highly recommend this clinic.

These people have been my choice for colds and first contacts with medical professionals for about 20 years, but the recently hired staff are not with it. They have downgraded their service, added new expectations for making sure they get their money, with little regard to their patients health and actual time with patients is down considerably. I have found a new clinic where I seem to be treated more like a real person.

Jerry Browning is a wonderful doctor all around. Got the run around from so many other clinics/hospitals/ERs that we were leary of modern healthcare. Thank you for letting us have him on our visit.

From the moment I walked in the door today I have been treated with the best care anyone could ask for from the receptionist, the nurses, and the physician, Jerry. He was very patient and listened to me and sincerely wants to help and words can’t express how much I appreciate that. Thank y’all for being so kind and compassionate.

Skylar at checkin is new and she is fantastic. Super nice, genuine and very sweet. Makenna for vitals and info really nice she too is very genuine. J Browning great bedside manner. The whole experience is why I keep returning when I need medical attention.

We were a walk in, got seen quickly and managed the issue quickly. Staff was amazing making it one of the most pleasant visits I’ve ever had. Great Job!

The Drs were awesome 👌!Being a Veteran the VA RN sent me to Health Care Express. I was forced to give a credit card or they would not see me. I called the VA and the nurse talked to Intake. The Veteran is being seen under the Mission Act and shall not be billed. A very dear friend of mine is 100% disabled Veteran and HCE charged him.

The front desk receptionist was extremely rude. I was in severe pain with extremely high blood pressure and several patients that had just walked in like me went ahead of me. I politely asked how much longer would it be because people who were just walking in was going ahead of me without an appointment some with similar symptoms and I was told to just sit and wait and they essentially were more important. I didn’t mind waiting but there was no need to be rude and unprofessional especially when I paid and had already been waiting patiently for a hour with 2 people in the lobby.

We waited 2 hours to see him, and he saw us for 5 mins max. My mom said her pain was a 9-10, and he dismissed it and said she just needs medication and a massage. He was in such a rush to leave, yet he had the time to tell us to leave a review. He didn’t even bother telling us what type of medication he prescribed. He broke every basic rule a healthcare professional should follow when addressing a patient.

The service was very good and fast! The Dr. heard steady. Take care of my Dad doing test to find out what happened with him. The Dr. Was very assertive about the diagnostics.

Very, very nice staff with a sense of humor and good quality work and atmosphere. The mobile check-in was a little hectic for a 65 y/o man that didnt bring his glasses, but the attention of care made up for that!!

When I visited HCE everyone was very professional, they were very busy. Took along time to be seen (5 to hours ) They took very good care of me. Thanks Everyone 😁.

I went to Healthcare Express on Richmond Road this morning. On my way there, I received a text message asking me to agree to be billed if my insurance didnt cover the entire bill. From my understanding, Healthcare Express and Veterans Affairs have a contract between each other. Its between them and not the patient.I went to the front window and Dawnilee was sitting there, I told her my name. She asked if I filled out the paperwork online and I told her I didnt sign it because I didnt agree with being billed with what the insurance doesnt cover. I informed her that I had VA healthcare and the veterans are not responsible for the remaining balance. She said Well this is our new policy, youll have to sign it to be seen, with a very sharp tone. She either woke up on the wrong side of the bed or need some customer service training. I asked a few more questions and she answered very rudely. At this point I just wanted to leave but I needed to be seen and treated. Asked her if she could put them in and she said yeah. I handed her my license, VA healthcare card and credit card. She looked at them for 2 seconds and handed them right back to me. She then said You can go and sign what I sent you. I did as she said and was called back in no more than 5 minutes.The appointment took about 30 minutes total. Everyone else were very professional and pleasant.

Super easy, super friendly, fast and efficient. I was impressed! I took one star away because there was (is) a discrepency between what their patient portal says I was prescribed for medicine, and what I actually was. When calling them in inquire I was told dont worry about it. Its my health, my prescriptions, yes I will worry about it. When I attemped to convey that message I was hung up on.

My child was sick on a weekend instead of waiting in the ER for hours we went to Health Care Express we were in and out in under an hour. Thank you for helping us and making it easier on us ! we appreciate it ❤️

Great care and fast service. Got me back to the exam room within five minutes of getting checked in. Did a general exam recognized my symptoms and gave me proper treatment and instructions to combat my symptoms.

I went in for a B-12 shot and Ethan took me straight back and I never felt a thing! Ivon at the desk was quick and efficient too! I didn’t even get a chance to sit down!

THE MIR TECH WAS GREAT. SHE WAS PATIENT WHILE WE WERE TRYING TO GET MY LAB INFO. NEVER ONCE DID SHE SEEM LIKE IT WAS A BOTHER. GREAT PERSON.I DEFINITELY WOULD GO BACK AGAIN. I DROVE 11/2 HOURS FOR THIS MIR AND DO NOT REGRET IT AT ALL.

I came in for an ear pain I’ve had several days after another doctor told me it was something else. They helped diagnose me with what we initially thought it was, provide the correct dosage of medication, and gave me a shot. 10/10 recommend. HCE never seems to disappoint.

Very attentive and gentle being informative as much as he can be. Good example of what a doctor should be! Had to come back due to a reaction to a medication and the Dr was helpful and attentive again and could pin point this issue quickly which was reassuring.

It was an awesome experience! I checked in online, had no wait time from the receptionist to the check in nurse to the nurse practitioner! They took excellent care of me and resolved my issue! Jerry is my favorite, always takes exceptional care of me!

Went right after Thanksgiving so it was a long wait but everyone there was very helpful and friendly! The nurse and doctor were great!

I think with ribcage injury, maybe the arms should have been assessed & x-rayed. This only took care of ribcage, so further assements needs to be done. I maybe be back in after I speak with Shreveport VA 1st. This was my 1st time ever and so I had to go to pharmacy & then I had to go back to here to get voucher for VA for meds, so any traveling veterans, make sure you get the voucher if NP states youv got meds to pic up & save 50 miles of driving. Healthcare express urgent care closes at 2000 hrs

I was put on several medications all of them got sent to the pharmacy and picked up but 1. After several attempts to get them to send the migraine medication to the pharmacy I gave up. So yes I still do not have any medication to stop the migraines. So thats why I gave 2 stars

I have used HealthCARE Express twice and both times it was fast and friendly care, and the doctor was very thorough and answered all my concerns about my health and would recommend if you need medical assistance there a great choice.

Im an otr truck driver and went to the clinic. Was diagnosed with pneumonia. Everyone was so polite and friendly. Even though I was from out of state and may never see them again they all were very concerned and treated me with respect. Answered every question I had for them and they did not try to hurry and get me out of there. I would give 10 stars if possible

Horrible horrible horrible! Went in for a confirmation of an ear infection and got it. We were good to go until the questions about being vaccinated and all of a sudden we were told he had meningitis and needed to be admitted immediately. I’m sorry but if you’re going to throw out there a diagnosis, please be able to tell the parents ALL the signs and symptoms of it. He has none of them besides fever. His normal Dr. said DO NOT TAKE HIM TO THE ER AND DO NOT LISTEN TO THAT DR at HCE. Y’all go somewhere else if you can bc you taking a gamble on the dr. that sees you.

I was seen by the NP who looked in my throat and advised that it was red but viral. She didnt do any test. I was given a steroid shot and sent on my way. Today Im at my pcp who does swabs and Im positive for strep. That is not a good visit to me.

I went in due to lower back pan & toes going numb. The staff was very friendly & so was the dr. They got to me fast & found my problem when no other dr has. I highly recommend using them.

No problem seeing a doctor but we’ve been waiting at the pharmacy the doctor suggested for 45 minutes. They haven’t even sent it yet from Healthcare Express. Unfortunately this is the only ER I can take my 100% disabled vet. Not happy.

I went here because my doctor was full and could not see me that day. So as I handed her my insurance card, she said oh I’m sorry we can’t see you unless you have a referral from your doctor. It is with this insurance only. So what the heck am I supposed to do after hours when I cannot get in to see a doctor?? There is something not right here. It’s an urgent care facility. So now, if I can’t get in, I’m stuck with nowhere to go!

We are with the VA and if you have an emergency its hard to get into without an appointment. HealthCare Express was excellent timely and efficient. Even had prescriptions sent by them to our nearest location and the VA paid for it.

Waited almost 3 hours to test positive for Covid and told to take ibuprofen and zinc. The room was dirty. I was scared to sit on the bench where other patients had sat because you could see hand prints. The floor was dirty with pieces of trash and hair everywhere. I only got to see a nurse practitioner. I will never go here again and if I were you, I wouldn’t either, unless it’s just your only option.

Recently went to the Richmond Road location as a walk in. I understand that someone without an appointment should expect a wait time. However, I felt that 2 hours was a little much, especially with as few other people in the waiting room. Not to mention that several came in over an hour after I had been there, and were called back before me. When the young lady at the front desk was asked about it 1 1/2 hours in, she acted like she was the one being inconvenienced. Never an apology about the long wait time. She said she would check and let us know. 30 minutes later, after her not letting us know, we checked with her again and she rudely said they were coming to get me. I feel the person sitting at that desk should be sympathetic to the patients and apologetic when necessary. This one was not. That was probably the last time I go there. After my experience last summer when I fell from a ladder and went there to get checked out, I was told I had a sprained ankle. They gave me an ace bandage and told me I could go back to work. I had a broken heel which required plates and screws to fix and wasn’t able to get back to work for 6 months. I just don’t trust them and I don’t have to put up with the rudeness. There are other options out there. Keep that in mind HCE.

First time to go there, but it was close to home. They got me in real quick and diagnosed the dog bite, gave me a tetanus shot and prescription and was out very quick.

Mrs. Colbert is very nice and professional and knowledgeable in her field. She is thorough in her exam and detailed in her analysis. I appreciate her bedside manner and care that she provides. The check-in and check-out process at the front desk is streamlined to support maximum efficiency - a service that makes the situation a little better when one isn’t feeling well.

Ive never been so sick or weak in all my life, I could not breathe from bronchitis and asthma. When I first walked into the building, the lady at the front desk with the short gray hair come around and got me a wheelchair so I could sit at her window while she helped me..the technicians were helpful too when I went back for tests.EVERYONE CARED FOR ME..I appreciated them so much.

Xray staff on June 11 at 1:00pm are very rude and need to work on their bedside manner. Grabbed my injury like I didnt have one at all. Im only getting an xray to see if its broke. Very rude.

I had a great experience. Not much of a wait and treated me as a person. They listened to what problems I was having and treated me well. I use the triwest from the VA and was no problem being seen or receiving medication. I have no complaints and will use them again.

Absolutely worthless! Called on a Saturday to ensure they were still open before heading in from out of town with my sick child. They confirmed they are open till 6 said thank you can that I was headed in! Needless to say got her at 530 and was told they couldn’t see us. Absolutely worthless don’t waste your time with this pathetic place!

Was able to easily set my morning appointment online without any hiccups. The staff is friendly and professional. The documentation process is a breeze. I was seen for my issue and on my way in almost no time at all. Will definitely recommend Health Care Express on Richmond Road for urgent care needs and I drove 45 minutes to get to my appointment. Definitely worth the distance.

Awful experience.- Upon calling this Urgent Care I was told I needed no appointment- I came to the urgent care and was told the wait was 2 hours, I decided to wait- I ended up wait 3 1/2 hours. Many people who came in after me (no appt.) were being seen.- Finally I saw the doctor, who told me the nurse would be in shortly. The nurse came in about fifteen min. later.- It was quite painful (the removal of seven stitches shouldn’t be that painful)- After the removal I was told to stay seated and wait for the doctor- Waited another twenty minutes until I decided to leave (I had already paid), who knows I could’ve wait another hour.There was poor communication and equally poor patient service. The times I have mentioned have been estimates, I arrived between 2-2:20 and didn’t leave until 5.All for seven stitches. Aside from the fact that another care facility had seen and stitched me up within 40 minutes. Highly Dissatisfied.

I had severe back pain when I visited. I was able to see a doctor and received a corticosteroid shot for $150. They also filled out a prescription for me. Not sure why they didn’t charge for the shot. The wait time was also less than 10 minutes.Professional and swift

Staff was courteous & very helpful. Sharhonda was very sweet to me & very thorough with examination. Quickly secured the tests I needed & provided a plan. Called me about follow-visit. Was very kind & patiently answered all of my questions.
