Dr John Couvaras MD FACOG

We had success with Dr. Couvaras. It has been about 2 years since we have seen him but we have a happy healthy baby boy. It seems that a common review for him is that he does his homework. That was true with us. We did several IUI treatments with a different doctor that didnt catch. That doctor had no intention of discovering the reason why we werent getting pregnant even though we already had 2 healthy children from natural birth. I guess he figured if we did a mechanical fertilization that would fix the problem even though there was no evidence my sperm count was low. His advice was bad because he didnt do his homework. Several thousands of dollars wasted. After failed IUIs and emergency surgery for endometrial cysts we came to Dr. Couvaras. He continued to seek every answer he could find for what was causing the endometriosis and we developed a plan for an additional clean up surgery before IVF treatment.It was not cheap. There were many tests, lots of expensive medicines, and an expensive surgery. In the end we had one egg from egg retrieval. That egg miraculously fertilized, and implanted successfully and eventually made it full term.No IVF doctor will do the additional tests for free. For us we were very happy with the additional tests that sought out the root of the problem. Despite the additional costs. I highly recommend him. I also recommend that if you are seeking fertility treatment anywhere you do a lot of research before starting. There is so much to know that doctors and nurses cannot train on. It can easily feel like you are lost and forgotten if you arent schooled well on the process.

We are forever grateful for Dr.Couvaras for helping us become parents to our beautiful little girl. We have recently been back for round 2 to help grow our family. You get amazing care from all of his staff. They are quick to answer any messages you leave or concerns you may have. You never feel like youre alone in the journey when dealing with his staff. Lenny,the embryologist is a pleasure to speak with. He is super positive and just keeps you pumped on awaiting any news. Thank you Dr.Couvaras for the BEST gift in the world!!

Dr. Couvaras bedside manner was impersonal and condescending. Overall office/staff culture gave off a money-grabbing vibe with unnecessary tests and procedures ordered. I sought better fertility care elsewhere after a few bad appointments with John Couvaras. Wish I had done it sooner in treatment!
