My experience was an amazing. The staff was extremely nice and genuinely care about how I felt about my decision. They also have a great facility it is clean and sanitary. The staff are absolutely great. You’re in and out. They provide you with ample information on your decision and your decisions moving forward; as far as birth control options. Absolutely adore them.

I am so relieved for this place existing. The person giving me my appointment was very calm and gentle talking to me.The gentleman doing my ultrasound was also very calm and gentle and very comforting. They are very good with instructions and explaining how the process will be. The doctor was great and tried to lighten up my sad mood with a funny story. Returning for my follow up appointment was just welcoming and comforting as the first appointment. Very professional and friendly. Thank you so much for existing and the service you provide for women in need.

I had a great experience at this facility. I needed to come in last minute and they were able to schedule an appointment with me the next day. Staff was considerate, kind, and very thorough. No judgements at all which was nice. I would 100% recommend.

I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. They were really cold. The waiting room is extremely tiny and you can’t have guests. It’s an awkward experience. I was a little emotional and scared about my decision and they definitely made me feel worse. The only nice person was the male nurse. They were rushing me to make a decision and when I said I would come back possibly they told me I’d have to pay a fee. I didn’t bring money with me because I was told I wouldn’t have to pay anything but they said because I didn’t fulfill the appointment, I had to pay something. They were saying this in front of the whole waiting room. They basically started questioning me about how I couldn’t afford the fee in front of everyone saying “that’s it?”, when I said I could only pay a portion, I just paid the portion and rushed out of there because I felt so embarrassed. Y’all really need to be kinder to women seeking help.

The male over weight nurse is a creep. Hes like 35ish, at this time I was 17-18 and he was offering me a ride home. He had to do an internal ultrasound, which I’ve had done before for other medical reasons and nobody has ever sat right in front of my vagina and stared right at it almost the whole time. He did tho. And then like 2 minutes later after he took the pictures and was walking out said “it’s always a good time when your here” don’t come here unless it’s your only option.

The staff was very welcoming and understanding of my needs. They made sure I felt comfortable and answered any questions I had. I would definitely come here again and recommend them!

I’ve been there for personal matter, everyone is very nice, supportive and really know how to keep us comfortable while respecting our choices. I highly recommend this clinic for women who are looking for quality service and nice doctors.

The Women’s Aid Center was such an incredible team of people when I needed medical help and assistance with my health. Horrible … i booked and they told me the day i booked was fine i drove 2 hours for them too tell me I’m too far along and kept $160 of my dollars for an (ultrasound) service was horrible the receptionist had an attitude and refused to give me my money back i gave her $460 to start and she basically kept $160 which wasn’t stated before

The Women’s Aid Center is a no-nonsense, efficient, and extremely friendly private clinic. If you have the means to pay for their services, it is such an amazing option. I was able to get into the clinic on the same day I made an appointment and was in and out the door in one hour. Every single person who I interacted with was warm, kind, and happy to answer any questions or concerns I had. I can’t recommend them enough!

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Upon arrival, you’re clumped in a small waiting area with several other people and treated disrespectfully like cattle. This is obviously a cash grab as they hold onto your credit card during the entire appointment instead of trusting patients to pay after their visit. It was a degrading experience especially as a woman. The patient room was not clean and with outdated technology. I will point out the male doctor who belittled me as a female patient (which I assume he treats other women rudely, too)! He made me feel like I don’t know what a speculum is…pretty laughable if you ask me. That speaks volumes of who he is for assuming that I know nothing. In fact, he is oblivious who walks into the door as if our desperate need of help equates to stupidity—it does not! The male doctor does not care and it is so cringy that he loves poking fun at patients to boost his ego. He even made false presumptions about my personal health which was none of his business—that’s between me and my primary care!! I was there for my annual pap smear as many OBGYN offices were booked and Women’s Aid Center was my last resort for an appointment. They never called back about my results since my specimen was sent to QUEST Diagnostics which is in the same office building. I never received a text or call about results from Women’s Aid Center nor a follow-up! I will not step foot into this office again! If you have made it this far, thank you for taking the time to read this and avoid at all costs!!To the office staff of WAC:Your passive-aggressive responses/behavior towards other reviews is very unprofessional. As a business, It shows your insecurities to take out your negativity on Google Reviews. Don’t bother wasting time replying to mine as your words truly mean nothing to me. Good riddance.

Timely and convenient. accidentally went to a fake clinic that left me at 8 weeks coming in at four… booked here the day after and was serviced within a few days!

I felt that this clinic was very professional, informative, kind and most importantly non judgemental. They provided me with all the information I needed and the whole process of what to expect. I felt very comfortable with the staff. Most importantly the male nurse was very understanding and caring and non judgemental. He helped me a lot to feel comfortable.

I’m so thankful that there is a clinic that helps women choose what they want without the feeling of judgement. The whole staff is very helpful and informative and they all just want the best for any situation you might be in. They are all bilingual in Spanish so it is very helpful for those who need translation or don’t comprehend English as well. Thank you so much for the care I received.

My niece came here. she had a horrible experience and I wish I was able to be there to stop her mistreatment, but they don’t allow patients with anyone. (could be to bully patients but who knows?). during her ultrasound she was asked if “she wanted to do it herself” when expressing discomfort. staff is completely unprofessional. to the WAS staff: I don’t need or want any of your insecure and passive aggressive responses. I’d rather get your lawyer’s legal information or the corporate office number. This is a terrible place that profit off of womens’ pain- regardless of what their reviews or website says. You’re better off somewhere else.

Going in I felt worried, scared, and even unsure how my experience with an abortion would go. I was so overwhelmed that I even began tearing up but everyone in the clinic made me feel so safe and understood that by the end of it i felt much better. I cant even begin to explain how friendly the atmosphere is and how educated everyone is. Im so glad I went to this clinic and highly recommend anyone to come here especially if you love a friendly atmosphere and appreciate the extra step workers do to make you feel comfortable.

For anyone nervous or unsure, I cannot recommend Womens Aid Center enough. Everyone was extremely helpful, kind, and professional with no judgement. I felt heard and taken care of, they are more than willing to answer questions and ensure you feel comfortable. It was also very easy to get an appointment with little wait times (I came first thing in the AM).

I dont even know how to start, before I came to this clinic I called a lot of different clinics around my state but no one could accommodate me as early as Womens Aid Center. Traveled just to be here, Thankfully they were very helpful. Angel was indeed an angel. Everyone was nice honestly. I was 5 weeks when I came. Clinic was clean, it was easy. Everything was a positive experience. Its been a month ago, had my period today since I went. Im grateful I found this place. I highly recommend them. Great experience. Be very careful at this place if possible seek medical treatment else where. I traveled to this clinic from Kentucky on August 5th was told I was 4 weeks & two days and was given one pill in the office & four more to take home with me to take the following morning. I was told to return on August 17th for a follow up. While at my follow up I expressed to the ultrasound tech that I was having awful pain on my right side & she ignored me, completed the ultrasound and then told me to come back to speak with the doctor at 1pm. I returned at 1pm and was asked by the doctor “do you still feel pregnant” he was behaving kind of strange. This time he gave me the in office pill in the package and told me he didn’t care when I took the pill & to go back to Kentucky and re dose bc I was still pregnant. I walked out of the clinic feeling off about the situation so I called another clinic near by. I was able to get an appointment the following morning at 9am. While at the appointment I was given an ultrasound, the ultrasound tech rushed out and came back with the doctor and told me to get dressed and go to the hospital that I had a pregnancy outside of my uterus on the right side in the fallopian tube and if not treated could be life threatening. I rushed with my partner to the hospital and had surgery a few hours later. What is crazy to me is that this place, women’s aid center, gave me four ultrasound pictures & told me I was pregnant in the uterus, never one time mentioned anything else. The thought of the male doctor at this clinic telling me to come back on August 31st for another follow up is mind blowing considering the hospital staff told me I would have died prior to that appointment. I’ll never forget when I was speaking to the tech and doctor and express my concern about right side pain & how I was ignored by the female who pretends to not understand English & the dr brushed his hand away and said “don’t worry about that” this place is disgusting & took advantage of a young female who traveled 6 hours & put my life at risk for money. Pathetic.Always go with your gut feeling. This place is shady. I don’t recommend!

This clinic was very friendly and empathetic to me and how I saw other clients be treated. The staff was attentive and answered any and all questions I had concerns with and was thorough in explanation. Prices were reasonable. They made me feel very cared for and confident and I would recommend this facility to anyone in need of womens services.

So of course picking a spot for something so personal is a difficult one you want to be able to feel comfortable and go to a clean place. The staff were very nice and made me feel comfortable. I even got a little emotional in the waiting room and one of the workers spoke to me calmed me down and spoke some sense to me. Everyone was very clean and I felt comfortable the entire time. Angel and Rosa were awesome!

The Dr was really nice. The “nurses” however were very rude, and unprofessional. They scheduled me at 8am I was there at 7:45am. They told me I had to wait downstairs until they called me. I was literally the first one there! At 8:15 I was still down there waiting for “a call”. I kept seeing women go up so I decided to go up again and to my surprise they were letting everyone in so even though I was the FIRST one to arrive I was the LAST one to be seen. I told them I never received a call she said “I did call you and you didn’t answer so I skipped you”. Mind you I saw all these ladies go up the elevator as soon as they arrived, they weren’t told to wait downstairs as I was told. I was livid to say the least. I am paying for a service and I shouldn’t be treated like that. I arrived at a timely manner and waited as they said.

0 stars if I could. They make you go through the process alone for “security reasons”, regardless of what your “needs” may be. The website says “ You can choose to be alone or request that a partner, friend, or family member stay with you.” but that’s a complete lie. Receptionist has a stick up her a$$ probably because she can’t have any children of her own and gets joy out of watching other women go through their loss. If you want an abortion this is NOT the place to go!

I made a honest mistake of coming a day after my appointment because I mixed up my dates. Upon arrival I called and they had let me know my appointment wasn’t today but yesterday, which I was surprised. I was even about to leave when she told me I can be seen after 5 patients. I waited over an hour, about 6-7 patient went before me. Their staffs (two front desk staff and the male nurse) are very unprofessional. They will “whisper” to themselves about a patient when the patient is there which is very unprofessional. They even laugh too. I felt like an outcast. Hurtful.ReplyLike I said it was an honest mistake because When I called you and u let me know that the day before was my appointment, and if I came intentionally I wouldn’t have asked you “wait, is today not the 13th?” On the phone. You proceeded to telling me that today was the 14th then I said okay thanks, no worries. I even heard a laugh over the phone, after realizing I mixed up my days! Then that’s when you told me that if I can wait after 5 people then I’d be seen. 6-7 people went by and I still wasn’t seen.Upon asking for my ID, the male nurse came over to the front desk then did a head gesture and vocally said “what is she here for”, you then told him “I’ll tell you later”. I was the only one in the waiting area, so definitely it was me you guys were referring to.After going in to wait for a vacant room, I saw the Male nurse went back to the front desk to ask you what you were gonna tell him later. He looked at me, looked back at you, then he laughed. I also heard you and one other lady in the front desk laugh too.Upon storming out, after waiting for over an hour, I heard you “whisper” to the other lady that was beside you, “she’s leaving”.So yes, you guys laughed at me. Im not a little kid so do not come on here lying to defend yourself and the rest. I do not need to call for I have completely stated the whole scenario on this review.Have a nice weekend!

I’m coming back to edit my review and remove 2 stars after months of going over my experience here. They were helpful and provided care for me in a time of need but I do think it is important to mention some things that happened while I was there. First, open entering the clinic, the ladies were loudly talking badly about all of the patients that were there, loudly talking negatively against scared women because they walked in without masks. You guys had masks there and could have very easily just asked all of us to put them on instead of talking badly about all of us LOUDLY, while we are all going through a very stressful time. Second, I was not given any pain meds. I had a male doctor who told me that because I was 6 weeks, the pain should be no worse than a “bad period” (ignorantly) and that I would be okay with otc ibuprofen. I was not, I was in excruciating pain that caused me to pass out. Friends who have gone to PP said they were provided pain meds were also at 6 weeks so I don’t know who this male doctor thinks he is telling women having an abortion is similar to bad period cramps. It’s not.Plus, upon leaving, they bribe you with either a free month of birth control or a plan b if you leave a good review. So most of these positive reviews are likely from women that also wanted a free plan b. I’m sure there were good parts about them coming here but left out anything bad because of the bribe. The only positive thing I can say about coming here is that my nurse, Angel was very kind and understanding, the receptionists were nice to your face, and while the male doctor was kind, he is grossly underestimating the pain these women will go through by not providing pain medication.If you really need care and Planned Parenthood is busy, come here but I would really recommend just going to PP instead. I’m glad they provide care to women in need but receptionists should really be more sensitive.

The first visit was ok. But the second time I went staff was pretty rude. I was already scared and was not feeling great and they made me feel worse. They aren’t empathetic at all. They could t answer any concerns and questions I had. I left with so many questions and had to talk to my doctor to make sure everything is ok. When I went for follow up again I experienced the same thing I would never recommend this clinic to anyone. Worst experience ever.

This clinic was a godsend for me! I was so scared and confused and didn’t know what to do when I found out I was pregnant. I was conflicted and changed my appointment a couple times. When I finally decided to take the step and go in, I was still nervous. Everyone was very nice, I read some reviews that said they just want money. Yes they do collect the money at first but this seemed normal to me. They didn’t actually charge my card until my visit was complete.The nurses and doctor were very nice and everyone was positive and upbeat. Everything about the process was smooth and I was happy to be in a positive environment during such a difficult process. Thank you!

Very helpful & very friendly staff! I had a breast cancer scare and couldnt get an appointment with my doctor for weeks. Instead of waiting, I called the Womens Aid Center and got an appointment the next day. I feel grateful that I was able to get a breast ultrasound and speak with the doctor who was able to put my mind at ease. I highly recommend this office!

Wonderful place and an absolute savior at the time I needed it most. I found the staff very helpful, honest and supportive. The office can get a bit frantic at times but it’s because it’s very clear they want people to be able to finish as quickly as possible without sacrificing any level of service. I am pretty positive that any bad reviews are being left by pro-lifers trying to get their voice heard. It’s a shame that they feel they should do so at the expense of people looking for an unbiased review of a place that will be potentially performing an invaluable service for many many people in a hard position as I was.If you have questions or thoughts, call the clinic and make your own judgments on the staff and service as opposed to listening to pro-lifers leaving scathing reviews to deter people from getting abortions.

If I can give 0 stars I will. Initially I had an appointment, I called to confirm the time the lady who answered the phone hee name was Sanah, she answered what do you want ? Instead Of replying how May I help you . I replied I needed to confirm my appointment but unfortunately your rudeness I prefer not to speak to you . I later received a call from another lady , I explained to her the issue she then argued with me stating that I didn’t have an appointment but , she was going to cancel it . Ok which one is is how are you canceling an appointment, if I don’t have one . She was beyond rude I ask for Gam information she didn’t not disclose it threatening she was going to call the cops . Both should be terminated immediately on grounds as their both very unprofessional and hate their jobs . I will be reporting this business on better business bureau . DO NOT COME HERE , is unfortunate how I was already feeling in the decision I was making and they made it a lot worst especially the first one who stated I’m the one seeking the appointment cause of my situation you should never say that to anyone , cause with out us making these decisions you wouldn’t have a job . Your just a receptionist remember that.As a business owner , I will never come to your establishment. I reported the incident with CPD As your receptionist threatened me . Nothing you will say publicly will save your establishment I will ensure matters are taken place accordingly as they should ! You and your staff do not care of the women making these decisions so please save it . You will be reported through the better business bureaus as the threats came from iron staff. You ensured to call me , so lees pull the phone records . Save it !

Initial visit was good, very nice staff & informative. Second visit here for a checkup and the owner is completely rude and barely answers any questions or concerns that you have. They just try to get u in and out the door and just want the $$. Nurses were nice but owner was very unprofessional.

All I can say is that, this place is really professional and discreet to the rights of the patients. Never once did i felt out of place here, I had support from my partner.

Called in earlier just to see if I need to get a check out and the person on the phone was very rude. She asked if I was a patient and I said well potentially but I want to talk about it first to see if I need to come for a check up. She then proceeded to cut me off and say well no one is gonna tell you anything, you need to make an appointment. This is the first time I ever heard that type of response from a clinic. No.

Very professional, courteous and caring staff. They made a very unfortunate visit extremely pleasant. Each staff member took the time to explain everything and answer any questions I had. There were no intrusive questions or judgemental remarks. Every bit of information was given with direct tact and candor, yet with the kindness that any patient would expect. The nurses are very very nice. They get you in and out the best they can and theyre really helpful and answer all questions. The doctor is very nice too, he jokes around and regardless of what services youre there for, youll never feel singled out.

Highly recommend going to Women’s Aid Center. I didn’t have to wait weeks for an appointment. They were very kind ! They are respectful of the decision you are making and just want to make sure you are 100% informed and are doing it safely.

I tried to make an appointment. So the person who was on the phone started laughing at me for no reason. I asked her Why u laughing at me? She just ignored my question. So disappointed!

I made an appointment the day that I confirmed I was pregnant. A week later, I had my appointment and was measuring 5.5 weeks. They told me they were concerned about the fact that I mentioned seizures on my intake form (I have had 2 in my life), and told me that I would need to get clearance from a neurologist before they could administer the medication. The first appointment I could get was 2.5 weeks later, and when I went in, the neurologist seemed pretty confused. He looked up the medications and found that seizures are not a contraindication or even a precaution for the pills. He said that there was no neurological reason that I couldn’t safely take the pills. He went ahead and ordered an EEG and MRI, but when I went to schedule, I was told that MRIs aren’t generally done before 13 weeks of pregnancy, which would be too late to have a medical abortion. Because he said that there was no problem with taking the medications, I went ahead and made an appointment at another clinic (Family Planning Associates Medical Group) down the road. The facility was much cleaner and nicer, and everything went super smoothly. By the time I actually had the abortion, I was at 9 weeks with the cutoff being 10 for a medical abortion. During that time, there was not a single day where I felt well. I had nausea, heartburn, extreme fatigue, no appetite (I was forcing myself to eat one meal every day because eating made me feel sick). I was pregnant for 4 weeks longer than I needed to be, and it turns out that there wasn’t even a medical reason for me to go through all of that.This place doesn’t seem like they are anti-choice, but for some reason they made me jump through a bunch of hoops before they would help me, and it seemed like they were running out the clock on me. Being sick every day for a pregnancy we were never going to keep had a negative impact on my work, and my personal life. I would absolutely recommend going to the other clinic I mentioned as it is only a couple of miles down the road (Don’t go the the Women’s Center as they are anti-choice).

I want to remain anonymous for obvious reasons, but I just cannot speak highly enough of the Womens Aid Center.Ive never been pregnant or had an abortion until this year; Im 34 years old and Ive been sexually active since I was 18. I was incredibly distressed. On 3/31/2017, I was thankfully able to schedule a medication abortion here at the WAC for 4/7/2017 (just a week out from my call) after Planned Parenthood called me 2 hours before my appointment for the same procedure (meant to happen on 3/31) to cancel my appointment (since a provider was not available to administer the medication). I assume PP cancelled not just my appointment, but everyones time sensitive appointment for that afternoon; and there was no back up plan or back up clinic offered to me from Planned Parenthood. I was already 7.2 weeks pregnant at that point, and it was intensely distressing for me and my partner to have a wait another week to go through with the procedure. Also, since the medication abortion is not over in a few hours, I knew I needed a block of a few days to get through it and give myself appropriate time to recover, both physically and emotionally.When I called WAC, the nurse or practitioner who answered the phone was warm, friendly, full of information and reassurance -- VERY different than my interpersonal experience with PP and with other clinics I contacted in Chicago. She literally told me dont worry, well see you soon and well take care of you. Thats all I needed to hear in my situation; sometimes warm words count for so much. She also gave me WAY more info about the procedure than any other clinic did, was upfront about the costs, and was just a totally real and down to earth human being while doing it.I arrived at the clinic on the morning of 4/7 feeling incredibly anxious and nervous. It was very busy in the clinic; I guess Fridays tend to be busy there, but the nurses/practitioners (perhaps they are physicians assistants, I was not sure) handled everything and everyone with grace, humor, efficiency, and ease. I was very nervous to see the doctor, who is an older white man (I was honestly hoping for a strong, dynamic woman doctor who would represent the opposite of marginalization in every respect), but once I got 1:1 time with the doctor, he was anything but marginalizing. He was very warm and informative, and it was obvious that his work at WAC is a labor of first-do-no-harm/feminist love for him. I did everything he told me to do the way he told me to do it, and it went basically exactly the way he said it would.They agreed to see me earlier than the 3 weeks out for the follow-up because I was leaving the country two weeks from 4/7. Again, they were highly graceful, efficient, warm at the follow-up appointment, very reassuring about the fact that I was still bleeding, and invited me to call any time if I needed anything, or to come in any time if I felt the need to (and that it would be free for me to do so).I could not have asked for a better place to have gone through this intense situation. In the end, I was so glad PP cancelled my initial appointment because I am very confident that I received a much higher quality of care here than I would have anywhere else in Chicago. Please reach out to them if you are in this situation and in need of great care and support.

DO NOT GO HERE!! The staff here does not truly care about women. They want your money and then they want you to go. They claim to be a clinic by women for women but they are unempathetic and do not care about the fragile state many of the women coming here are in. I came in for “the pill” as they claim to be “the pill doctor”, after a consultation in which the doctor told me not to go anywhere else if I experience any issues after taking the pill because “only we know what to do. Everyone else is guessing.” Then after taking the pill they give you four more for you to take 24hrs later to induce your period, but you must eat before taking those pills. I called the next day as I needed to take my second dose but was unable to keep down ANY food. When I called the manager, Larissa Powansky, answered and refused to listen, blamed it in me for not knowing I would be nauseous and cut me off before hanging up the phone and leaving me to fend for myself. If you can wait, go to planned parenthood. This has been a nightmare!

Called the office to ask for pricing services. The lady told me they do not offer that service. When asked if she is familiar with any office that does so she could refer, she stated “No I don’t. If you look at Dr. Kamper’s google search results you’ll see that she is responsible for a fatality and that she has scammed the city of Chicago out of hundreds of thousands of dollars. Despite reading all of this beforehand, I made the mistake of giving her the benefit of the doubt. It was a mistake that almost cost me my life. She is careless and should no longer be practicing. The floors of her practice look like they have never been cleaned since it opened. I realize that her clinic is providing a service to the community that is much needed, but her practice is unsafe beyond belief. Her and the np are seriously negligent. There is another clinic in Chicago that is rated much safer with doctors that haven’t been sued.

I took the abortion pill June 1, 21 and still bleeding right now today been to hospital twice and when I call these people to ask when will the bleeding stop they had no clue and still didnt have a clue when I call today. Talking about I should came to my check up I did I went to my doctor cause they dont have doctors on the days they doing your check up. how can a CNA tell me about my pregnancy test still say positive and why Im still bleeding. Unprofessional- boreline malpractice.Youre hearded into the offices similar to cattle and before they even ask your name your asked for your payment information. First red flag.Its hard to tell who the patients and professionals are because the nurses/doctors are also in jeans. Second red flag.Being in a stressful and emotional situation and wanting to get the process over as quickly as possible you still might look past these warning signs as I did but the worst possible experience was when I called in the day after medication looking for some consolation with the concerns I was having and was screamed at that I didnt follow directions (that were never given) talked down to in a defensive manner and ultimately hung up on by nurse SOPHIA.I am absolutely appalled that a place such as this exists and I pray woman like me read this review and choose a place of actual care and professionalism so they dont have to go through the same emotional damage Im currently facing.Its clear this facility only cares about the 440 dollar sign on your head.
