IDP is one of the most confusing, and Inconsistent medical spaces I have ever entered. The staff constantly sends you on a run around if you seek to call them, or will have you on hold for 20 to 40 mins, and sometimes longer. The hours for services are inconsistent and change with little to no longer warning, such as closing the clinic down at noon with no more warnings then a paper on the front door, which is not helpful to those who only come for services every so often. And many staff are kind and helpful, but most act as if you are interrupting their day or conversations when you ask them questions. Overall, not e. good experience anytime.i have to go there.

I called this office three times and it always the same issue the doctor is not available and I can leave a message. Then they put in my daughters insurance information in the system incorrectly and tried to send me a bill of over $400. Then the elevator broke down because it was too many people on the elevator and their system crashed. They schedule everyone on top of each other so it be a lot of people waiting to be seen. Don’t waste your time they’re unorganized and they took blood from my child and it’s been over two weeks without a call about her results. Then she never tells me no new information just to come in another time. Every time you call the doctor is unavailable and nobody is authorized to tell you results. I never had to to deal with an office so unprofessional and have no organization. If I could rate zero stars I will, I been on hold over fifteen minutes and I can’t even cancel an appointment. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!!!!!

I usually attend IDP since 2011.All staff there were great. Now, in 2023, there are some RN that doesn’t have any politeness and don’t respect the patient.I’m talking about the recent experience with me today. (07/10/2023).The RN Kathleen was impolite. When I was checking the weight, she stayed apart and asked me for the weight numbers. She didn’t look at the monitor to check. She only asked for the numbers. She ironically questioned, why I was there since I only had pain that night. She also took blood pressure gauge the blood pressure gauge and left the thermometer in my mouth for almost 3-4 minutes.she Didn’t check my medications, or if they needed refills. When Ironically, she asked me why I was there just because I had pain in my legs.I answered that yes! Because since I’m a heart valve transplant, my doctor is very cautious with me about blood clogs.I want to mention that, these new RN Kathleen are leaving something to be desired. And she needs to learn and respect the patients. Thanks!Sincerely,Genilson Santos.July, 10th, 2023.

I have been going here for over 10 years and every time I have to deal with the pharmacy is the worst experience ever. They say they call me and my number wasnt working I pay my d*** bill every month. Helen says she called me on both numbers. I dont have 2 now I have to sit in here re doing the whole process of insurance and all that just to get 7 pills. This place is a joke the Doctors here are the only good thing they have going for them. There spending all this money renovating the place they could hire better staff and have a better processing.

I love going here. Dr,hussen pacifically I love her she’s so nice and kind. So gentle. She just so adorable. The doctors are so nice and they do everything they can to make sure they get you in and out and safe. Their communication here is on point also and I feel as tho that is most important.

Been coming here since 2015 and never had a issue until recent . Marylyn’s that runs the IDP clinic is rude and condescending . I set by idly for hours while she treated me like i was irrelevant. Heard her making snarky comments about me as well . I will continue to frequent this clinic only to see my main doctor but Marylyn will never have the chance to make me feel less than ever again !

I wish I could grade the doctors and most of the staff separately from this review because all the doctors and most of the other staff I have encountered have been extremely caring and seem genuinely concerned about their patients, etc. Now, for the processes and procedures of this place. To say they are horrendous would be a compliment. Apparently, their internal systems do not communicate, which I find completely and utterly unacceptable for an institution of this size and magnitude. I will give you an example. I have to go downstairs and speak with someone in the financial department to renew Ryan White, which assists in paying for extremely costly medications. I go upstairs to actually collect my medications and strangely enough, the system downstairs does not communicate with the system upstairs because EVERY single time I have renewed my Ryan White for the last year and a half, there has been an issue. I am told by one department that I am current and up to date yet when I go to the pharmacy, I am told that my Ryan White has expired. Instead of the pharmacy person calling downstairs to verify my information, I am given a slip of paper and sent back downstairs to stand in line and wait only to remind someone to do their job. Makes absolutely NO LOGICAL SENSE. Back in December I went into the center to renew Ryan White. It was the week before Christmas and I was told that my renewal was only good through the 24th, which was the next week, and that I would need to call back in January to check the status. None of this made any sense and no one could provide ANY explanation; however, I received the information and went back upstairs and collected my medication. In January, I called back to check the status, as instructed by the financial department. Yesterday, I go to pick up my medication and I am told that my Ryan White has expired. I dont understand how it could have expired when, first of all, I was told that I would NOT need to renew again in 6 months, that I was on some courtesy renewal program. I found that suspect but accepted what I was told. Apparently, that was complete BS because I was advised in the pharmacy yesterday that my Ryan White had expired. Ok, so maybe I was misinformed about the courtesy program but even so, I was renewed back in mid-December at the earliest or early January at the latest. Trying to call this center is an exercise in frustration (and that is an extreme understatement). You are sent through endless prompts and choices which really only send you in a complete circle. If youre lucky enough to actually get through, its normally only to someones voicemail although most times, the phone rings, and rings, and rings, and rings, and rings. ... I just called today and tried to reach someone in the financial department and the phone rang for 5 minutes straight until I hung up and called back. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE FOR ANYONE BUT ESPECIALLY FOR AN ORGANIZATION SUCH AS THIS. I dont know who is running the show over there but they need to be fired and replaced with someone who actually gives a damn. I am fortunate enough, at this stage in my life, to still be in possession of most of my faculties but I cannot imagine what kind of hell it is for those who may not be as fortunate as myself to have to deal with the complete lack of service when it comes to dealing with certain aspects of this place. I also dont understand why the same person cannot handle both renewal of Ryan White and of ADAP. I understand they are two different entities; however, they are both financial assistance programs that Im sure most patients use simultaneously so why cant one person handle both? Instead, you have to make two separate appointments with two different people and hope that you can get the appointments on the same day so that, going forward, you dont have to set aside two days to go to these appointments. For those of us who are fortunate enough to still be able to work full time, we can’t just drop everything and come in.See the rest of my review under Jay Ell....

They lack Compassion. Rather on phone or in person - they clearly have NO interest in healthcare and this is simply a check. From the front desk to the check-in nurse. Every Single One has a poor attitude! Now the doctors are nice and the Pharmacy Staff are nice. & a host of services! The entire front administrative staff needs be replaced! The front desk , the nurses , anybody who answers the phone , the insurance check-in people are all extremely burnt out and it shows - just wish they’d find a more fulfilling career instead of dumping their negativity on sick patients that seek help. They are poison to the Grady Experience and should NOT be there. I’m a college educated man , they way the people you have to go thru ( to get to the people that treat you) talk down to you is deplorable, they are condescending and never offer advice or tips to have a better experience or even a quick smile hello. Nobodies asking you be Super anything but if I’m calling or there , that means I need Help , walking thru those doors is a fear-driven vulnerable moment because you might not get the help you need , and your there because your life has changed and you HAVE to come. Stop treating people like they are a burden on You!* This is a consistent experience with administration , front desk and welcome nurses on Floor 1 and P Level. I’m anxiety-ridden and exhausted by time get to the doctor. *

THEN I called back 3 other times to schedule an appt no one ever answered again! If you’re Serious about your health DO NOT COME HERE.

I came here after being 2 months out of care they immediately got everything done including giving me medication in one day usually it takes longer than that but because I was a special case they gave me everything I needed my doctor which was Doctor Shae was very concerned about me she made sure I had everything I need she gave me a referral to house me which ended up giving me my own apartment within 45 days because my case manager and my doctor both work together to get exactly what I needed before transferring me to the adult Clinic I am extremely satisfied that I transfer doctors to this Clinic instead of my old one

Formerly the Infectious Disease Program at Grady, the Ponce center is super friendly and helpful for people who have HIV and are looking for primary care services by knowledgeable HIV Doctors. They have mental health services, a pharmacy, a dentist. By far and away the best part of Grady Health System if you have HIV. They still get bogged down with the Grady bureaucracy, but it is so much better than main Grady.
