MedStar Washington Hospital Center -Washington Womens Wellness Center

I received prenatal care at MedStar Washington Hospital Center and delivered my baby there this past Monday. I can not thank the doctors and nurses enough for all that they did. They made sure I had a healthy pregnancy with no complications, answered all my questions, and ensured that I delivered my baby safely. They worked very hard to ensure that my baby had a successful delivery, and this is was not an easy process with some complications along the way that they handled with reassurance and ease. During my postpartum stay at the hospital, all the nurses helped me take care of my body and my baby, from breastfeeding, to swaddling, to sleeping, and changing diapers. I now feel very confident caring for my newborn and he is a very happy baby! I cannot thank MedStar enough for providing me a positive pregnancy and birth experience.

The women’s clinic at Washington Hospital Center feels like a boutique doctors office, in the best ways! There are rarely lots of people in the waiting room. It always feels calm and serene. The staff are always nice. Appointments generally start on time. I feel cared for at the clinic.

Poorly run office. Makes no sense to make a pregnant patient wait over an hour for a 10 minute visit. It’s almost as if they purposely move at a snails pace. And most office visits seem pointless for healthy pregnancies. I can feel the heartbeat and my baby kicks constantly, why must I see a doctor every 2 weeks to listen with a Doppler for 10 seconds, I can do that myself at home, since I have a Doppler. And most people know how to take their own blood pressure, or can be taught how. If I’m going to be scheduled so often for such idiocracy the least the can do is see me at my scheduled appointment time with no wait. I wish they implemented a better system for maternity visits. Hopefully the labor and delivery section of the hospital doesn’t run the same way or I’m definitely going to just say F it and “accidentally” have my baby at home.

The midwives of medstar are excellent. I delivered my two children with them and received supportive care, they were excellent listeners and happily answered my million questions during prenatal appointments. I have also gone for annual visits and find they never rush me through an appointment and they care about my holistic well being.

I love Medstar @ Washington hospital center Im treated with respect and I feel like the doctors at the womens health care department really care. Dr.Mary Fairbanks in particular has been wonderful and very professional. Im about to give birth in 10 days and I feel confident that I am in good hands !

I love going to the womens health center at WHC the staff there are so friendly and respectful. They make sure I dont have any questions or concerns before leaving the office.They treat all expecting mothers with respect and make sure they have all they need for their bundle of joy.

They really listen to your concerns and accept them. They dont pressure you to do anything. Theres rarely any wait time after your appointment time. I appreciate that you dont have to wait forever after vitals or intake. Clean space with excellent customer service.

Dr Melancon is a wonderful physician. She is kind, knowledgeable, patient, and gentle. She listens without judgment and is consistently willing to answer questions. I heartily recommend her to perspective patients.

The office was very clean,the front desk personnel were very efficient. The back office staff was very prompt and professional. The doctor was very professional and explained everything. He also asked me if there was anything that he could help me with. Kudos to this office will definitely refer and visit again .

I had a great experience at the Womens center with Dr.Auguste. Everyone was friendly and Dr.Auguste explained everything and made me comfortable.

Dr Draoui is my new gynecologist. Shes done a wonderful job responding to my concerns. Was very kind and compassionate while performing a biopsy on me this afternoon

Elizabeth looked at what I had, and told me what it was, and what might have caused it. This was very helpful, to know, and also, to know if it happens again. And she prescribed a cream, that I also believe will help. Thank you.!

Women’s Health at Medstar Washington Hospital Center in DC has is wonderful. I was born there. All 4 of my children were born there and a couple of my grandchildren too. I’m excited about my new doctor, John Buek. I feel like he hears and understands me. I had one bad situation with Dr. Amy Lee when I was a clinic patient. I don’t feel like she heard my desires about my Fibroid resolution. But I’ve been trusting the doctors here for over 30 years so I can’t say that they are bad. I’ve had great experiences and I feel that I am back at that place now with my new GYN.

Dr. Mary Melancon is superb! She’s patient and kind with all of my questions and gives the best advice for my health. Thankful for her!

When the OB/GYN Doctor enter the exam room, I felt that she was a little fast paced moving for me. She looked like she was in a rush, Fast talking and I could not answer my question the doctor in Obgyn don’t care 🤷‍♀️ need to be V…………!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE DR. MELACON! She is my favorite GYN of all times! She is thorough and gentle and smart and sweet.

Ladies are professional and friendly. I felt welcomed. Doctor was educational and attentive. Will be returning!

This was my first time at MedStar Physical Building and it was absolutely amazing experience. The facility is nice and clean and the safe was very friendly and professional, except this one security guard. Im considering making MedStar my primary care provider. Dr. Malancon is the best very informative and compassionate. I am very satisfied with under her care!

I love Washington hospital the all the lady’s in the Obgyn are wonderful they made me feel so comfortable I was feeling down when I got there but leaving I felt happy and I need all that kindness that they all gave me thank you lady’s

I HAD THE WRONG APPOINTMENT TIME. DR. OLIGHBO WAS NICE ENOUGH TO SEE ME ANYWAY. SHE TOOK CARE OF MY SCRIPTS AND AS USUAL SHE WAS VERY KIND AND THOROUGH WITH PATIENT CARE. THANK YOU.

My GYN, Dr. Teng is the best!! She is very knowledgeable and personable. She thoroughly listens and thoroughly explains so that you can understand. She even gives examples and demos for the laymans like myself. Because of doctors like her and mu GI doctor, I will most definitely recommend WHC. I am thinking of changing all of my doctors to this hospital. ❤️❤️

The front desk Check in process was good. My Vital Signs Check In was good. When the OB/GYN Doctor enter the exam room, I felt that she was a little fast paced moving for me. She looked like she was in a rush, Fast talking and I could not understand some of the instructions and information given. I had to repeat a couple of questions to get a better understanding. She talked so fast it was hard to get a question in. (Hears a saying) You know when you get a manicure or a pedicure. Your hands and toes should feel good afterwards. I did not feel good after leaving my OB/GYN doctors appointment. Only thing I said way ahead of time was. I do not want to see this OB/GYN doctor again. I should never feel rushed. I know the doctors have other patients but everyone is important and have issues they need to address without feeling rushed or forgetting a question that you have to asked the doctor. Now that your rushed they are onto the next patient. That do not feel good. I hope to see better time used with patients and listening without feeling rushed. Thanks.

Love love OB/GYN 1500 Staff, they are the sweetest! I recommend booking early in the morning, you get in and out faster.

Dr. Teng was excellent at explaining what was to take place and expect. Great doctor and staff. I highly recommend them for your health care needs.

The midwives are awesome! I gave birth there twice and couldnt imagine a better team of birth professionals.

Absolutely AWFUL. Never been to a place where women staff treated other women waiting to get exams done, so INCREDIBLY BAD, referring to patients at this one over here. The doctor and technician were very knowledgeable, but the people working admin desk jobs...wow...they had no idea what they were supposed to do, other than yell at patients. Extremely incompetent!

Most of them are efficient and nice, but I have sensed hostility with two individuals. It is not ok to be treated in such a way with sensitive matter

Great and attentive doctors. I especially like Dr. Draoui and Dr. Teng. I am here for my second pregnancy now. Only negative is that they just don’t have enough availability sometimes for the appointment frequency they recommend.

Dr. Damle was kind and efficient. She walked me through the steps of the procedure to help easy any anxiety. She also listened to a few other concerns I had that were slightly unrelated to my visit and followed up with me as soon as she received more information.

Very knowledgeable staff, nice and clean office. Listens and answers questions professionally. I would recommend this business.

A truly terrible experience. I left after waiting for two hours and then being asked why my Dr. didn’t order the right thing. After waiting for two hours, arguing for 15 minutes with a rude insurance lady who seems to know better than my doctors what i need from my visit and finally leaving without receiving any care as i needed to get to work. I cancelled the visits and will never go back to this mess of a place. And i caution others to literally take the whole day off if you plan to go there. Or better yet, go to a different location to get your imaging done.

I was selected to receive a $50 gift card to do my annual women’s exam. After having 5 children I decided to get birth control. On June 16th I got the IUD, I was in complete discomfort for weeks with heavy bleeding and pain. On July 20th the IUD was removed and we agreed on the arm implant. My implant was mildly sore however improved after a few days. Since then, I been clotting like crazy, soaking pads and cramping good lord. I am unable to reach a nurse or a physician. September is Friday and I cannot bare with the clotting anymore. I WANT IT OUT NOW!!! Blood is leaking out of me like water.

I had a bad Experience. Here’s what happened, When I started my Pre-Natal care at Washington Hospital Center, Women and wellness center, They lied to me. They told me that they have a 12 group of doctors working together and delivering the baby. I asked them who was going to deliver the baby and they said out of 12 doctors two of the doctors gonna be there every day every shift so I trust them and start following my prenatal care with them. However, when the time is it’s for delivery I asked them where are my doctors and I called them why I’m not there to deliver my baby they said they are not on schedule today. They manipulate me they won’t respond to me. Please please do not go to human wellness also don’t trust them please save your life. Trying to let new employees do practice on you while you are on pain.Specially they know you cannot say no while you are in pain that’s why they try to lie to us. Please don’t go

RUN! Dont walk. I went in for a mammogram and sonogram (it was on the referral). I wass told they didnt see a sonogram on the referral and they would not give me a mammogram either. I went back to my GYN and they pointed to the referral code under the mammogram code. Th GYN office couldnt figure out why they didnt give me the mammogram until any confusion was cleared.

All the providers that Ive worked with at this clinic are excellent, pleasant, and knowledgeable. Ive always felt safe and comfortable receiving care here. I feel there are areas of improvement with the staff that work with the logistics. The technician who gave me the first HPV vaccine made an appointment too early for my second injection, and I was sent back home when I came in. Another time, I made a follow-up appointment with the clerk, and when I showed up, nothing was in the records. As a busy adult, these issues have been frustrating. I hope that these instances lessen, as Id like to continue receiving care from the providers here.

Office is EXTREMELY slow!! They NEVER return calls nor give the providers messages when requested. Scheduling is ALWAYS an extremely difficult process, they have some of the rudest, unprofessional and unhelpful people EVER. Their attitudes are horrible when you call in to schedule an appt!! Ive been a patient since 2014 but it ends today!! There are PLENTY of other doctors with better bed side manners and staff that actually WANT to do their jobs and assist you, CHOOSE ANOTHER OFFICE!!

The only reason I give this place 3 stars is because of my provider NP Sabrina Neill, she is very pleasant, knowledgeable, and makes you feel comfortable. (I have never seen any other provider to speak on) Other than that nurses are very uneducated during this Covid-19 time frame. Theyre hostile and not very understanding of a mother who tested positive for covid in APRIL!! Ive been there TWICE SINCE THEN!!! They do not call when changing your provider, theyre rude over the phone when asking questions about appointment scheduling. AND Central scheduling? Dont even get me started, all they do is cause inconveniences and take all day to do a simple job. Almost every operator is rude, I literally only successfully made two appointments with their operators. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND MAKE YOUR APPOINTMENT IN OFFICE AVOID SPEAKING TO THEM AT ALL COSTS!!!!!

I have called the Medstar appointment lines at LEAST 10 times in the past week and a half and have spoken to agents and have emailed and no one calls back for an appointment! Their new scheduling system isnt working and I am in so much pain after waiting to her back after a week that I am now forced to go to the ER?!! GET IT FIXED, its negligent on your end Medstar. Youre supposed to be proactive, not reactive, especially when it comes to health. I hope my condition isnt more excessive now because I cant see anyone. Call your patients back to make an appointment!!

Excellent care for over 10 years Dr. Droui : What happened ?Update : The service level has dropped. The staff did not get back to me and did not let the Dr. Know I had called , the nurse was rude and uncaring. I’m never going back again. Womens Wellness WHC -Irving Street. No Morale no caring.

The doctor was not gentle at all it was very painful

I love this office they have always made me feel comfortable. They have always given me all the information Ive needed. I have never waited more than 10 minutes to see anyone for any reason.

Dear nurses and desks attendants of WHC breast imaging center,If you don’t want to do your job. Go find a new one. All the inconvenience and disharmony you cause by not doing your job to the best of your ability will return to you and your families 10 times over. And so it is.

This 1 star I should not give to them because there no other choice available .gynecology department who work front desk appointment check up rude and evils front desk because my wife she is pregnancy for 6 month and she have appointment ultrasound check up front desk refused her to check up and she canceled appointment because before we have privet insurance now because of cov19 she layoffs from her job and she doesnt have no more privet insurance. That front desk she said to her dont came back if u dont have insurance

Had an referral for an anatomy scan. Made my appointment weeks in advance. As a new patient they didn’t send an email text or anything about my appointment, went on the day I thought it was, and they say it was the day before and they also don’t have any other appointments for a month. I get reminder text or email for all my appointments but not from them, I missed it and that has prolonged what I have to do

This place so super slow. It is taking almost an hour just to get registered. The people here work very inefficiently and making people wait unnecessarily. I now have to skip lunch because of this place. Management really needs to do something. All of the information are already in their system and I am not even sure why it would take them 20 minutes to register each person.

Took me an hour and a half of waiting for an appointment that consisted of getting a 30 second shot (that was scheduled months out). No call beforehand either to confirm appointment. Will be switching providers

These people don’t care if your pregnant and high risk the tech was walking around saying she doesn’t care phlebotomist was on the phone instead of drawing blood and there were no doctors in office only a midwife that couldn’t really do anything for me I transferred to another hospital after one visit this place is a no go for pregnant woman

Im in the hospital now and I’m in upper respiratory in the north wing and I thought when you have asthma or and infection you don’t supposed to blasted the air like This I haven’t been sleep yet since I got up here at @10pm 10/16/19

I got here at 10am & it’s almost 3pm... I haven’t been seen by anybody! Last time I been here I was here for 8 hours. The wait is very very very very irritating. This one of the worst services ever & just disappointed of the lack of services.
