Dr. Watkins performed by bilateral salpingectomy (fallopian tube removal) and I couldnt have asked for a better surgeon. She was unbiased (Im of childbearing age) and never asked if I had children or required approval from a spouse or partner. She was very thorough with explaining the procedure so I felt comfortable continuing with her. The surgery and recovery were very smooth. Im feeling great and am back to normal two weeks post-op. I plan on seeing Dr. Watkins for all of my gynecology needs for as long as possible. I highly suggest Dr. Watkins if you want to get sterilized or are looking for a new gynecologist for any other reason.

Ive been coming to this practice since 2020 when the office was at Tampa General. Ive never had a more pleasant and thorough experience before I started coming here and 4 years later and in a new location, that still rings true. Dr. Watkins really listens to absolutely every question I have and takes the time to explain without ever making me feel rushed or like Im asking stupid questions. During the exam she gives a heads up if you may feel any type of pressure or discomfort so theres no unpleasant surprises. The entire staff at the practice is overwhelmingly kind. You can tell how much they truly care for patients. I also appreciate the snack and drink bar so much! So many thoughtful touches throughout the office.

I was a patient of Dr. McCarthy for years at this office so when I made an appointment and found out she was gone, I was hopeful the new doctor would be just as great. Unfortunately I felt very rushed the entire appointment and she was not very friendly. I had a telehealth follow up, paid my copay and sat online, just for the provider to not show up. After calling the office, they decided to reschedule me which was a waste of my time and very unprofessional. I will be finding a new gyno.

I honestly was going to attend my last visit and find a new provider without wasting my time and leaving a review etc. But with the letter I received from this practice I’ve just had about enough. I’ve never experienced anything like it.They do not listen to you at all. I went in and was instantly doubted when I voiced my concerns on what was wrong with me with the highly probable diagnosis of endometriosis I was given from my prior gynecologist and family history with the condition. They couldn’t confirm because they stopped performing surgery. So I came to ST Gyno for a second opinion. To turn out to be RIGHT about what was wrong with me after push back on completing my procedure to confirm the diagnosis after being doubted and given skepticism. She wanted to just have me take birth control or a pill that causes so many side effects at a young age such as menopause.I pushed for the surgery because I knew something was wrong and I just needed someone to finally be able to check. Which she did. I was right about the diagnosis and proved her wrong.I had a rough post op with pains I shouldn’t have been feeling according to the timeline I was given by the doc to be told no your just “ovulating” to then check with an ultrasound that I was RIGHT I HAD A CYST ON MY OVARY causing me so much pain AFTER SURGERY, I’ve had a horrible experience after the fact. Proved her wrong for the SECOND TIME. They ignore you they don’t listen when you clearly feel something is wrong. They act like they know your body better than you and make you feel CRAZY when you explain what you’re feeling. I received so much push back as well on iud removal because I genuinely felt like my body was rejecting it after they inserted it while I was under.I got ignored plenty of times told to wait a few months which I did, I got looked at and treated like I was speaking nonsense. And guess what ? I told her to remove it idc what explanation she had at that point because I felt SICK DAILY PAIN DAILY DISCOMFORT DAILY INFLAMMATION DAILY HAIR LOSS and she removed it and I feel 100000x lighter and better with no pains. I will never recommend anyone to this practice. They want to do what they want to do and not listen to what you’re feeling at all. They act like your wrong all the time like there’s no way your feeling that way. You are basically treated like a crazy person. They act like they are always right and what you’re expressing can’t be. The front desk has an attitude and ignores phone calls when she considers you a problem patient. I don’t see how that’s the character you carry when you’re the face of the office , first interaction and nothing is personal. Blows my mind. The only people I genuinely loved to deal with there was their medical assistant. She was always polite and super sweet. And their surgical coordinator who was EXTREMELY helpful and made everything possible for me. They need to return to school or attend a conference on bedside manner & just being hospitable people. It’s truly sad. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. They’re definitely not a girls GIRL. lol. If you don’t fight for your health and advocate for yourself these doctors will do anything they want with you just to bill health insurance and get paid. They don’t feel nor go through what you go through. The medical industry is honestly becoming so sad and more of a business than true health care. I’ve been in the medical office setting for more than 4 years now and this was truly mind blowing to see this is how they run this practice and treat patients. They do not genuinely care from my perspective, seems like they’re just in it for the $. Idk if it’s me being a Spanish patient coming to a predominantly white populated area or what. Or if they have personal things going on that they bring to work and don’t know how to separate the two. Either way it’s sad. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

After spending $40 on Uber to get to my appointment, I spoke to Dr. Fanarjian on the phone who said, “oh I meant to call you to let you know you don’t have to come in. You’re fine” When I questioned that and said I’d follow up with my PCP (the one who urgently referred me to see a specialist), the doctor got very defensive and snarky, and began listing her credentials. I was stunned by this and began crying, especially considering how sensitive the matter was. I was clearly anxious and was really was hoping she’d offer me some sort of reassurance or relief. She got frustrated, sighed and said “okay fine let’s do a phone visit.”Anyway at the end of our VERY brief conversation where it seemed like she was reading out of a textbook(I could barely get a word in either), she let me know I’d be receiving a bill.I understand that’s just how our healthcare system works, just really disappointed in the quality of care. I think it’s common knowledge among health professionals that you never know what someone is going through and to treat all patients with respect.

I visited with Dr. Watkins this morning and was thrilled. I use the word visit because thats exactly how she made me feel, like i was visiting a friend. She sat and listened and took great care in going over my concerns and then relayed all my options in specific detail, thoroughly giving me pros and cons. She was very knowledgeable and kind and didnt dismiss my concerns based on my age which is what my recent experience has been while searching for a new gynecologist after my doctor retired. I can finally say Ive found a new home with Dr. Watkins! Thank you. Thank you!

This was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a gynecologist office. I thought going to an all women office would be amazing but I’ve actually gotten more sympathy and help for my pain from my male gynecologists. I explained to the doctor that I was in extreme discomfort and she was argumentative and very dismissive.

Wouldn’t recommend. I’ve only been seeing Dr.Watkins and Dr.Nicole for about a year and they did not help me. Their direction only made my situation worsen and I’ve had to spend countless hours doing my own research and using other providers. When bringing my findings back to both doctors they always gave me a push back and they didn’t recommend trying anything that I asked of them . I was prescribed the wrong medication one day and I called back to have it switched and instead of them asking me what to switch it to, they scheduled me for a Tele health conference which would charge me and my insurance. On top of the horrible experience that I’ve had with this facility, I just received a phone call about an unpaid balance from February. We are now 10 months past that.. My balances were cleared for the beginning of the year already . The books are not accurate.

This office was amazing, when it was located on Tampa General Cir. With Dr Mccafrey. Recently had an appointment I was 10 minutes late, explained it was due to traffic,(total truth) not a soul in the waiting area. They turned me away after driving 45 minutes to get there and taking time off of work. It gets even better, they are charging me a no show fee on top of that!!!!

Dr.Watkins was the most condescending and snarky Gyno i’ve ever been to. Was snobby and laughed in my face when I was simply sharing my perspective. If you’re educating a patient it’s not hard to do it kindly. Refused to get to the bottom of the reason of my visit and just said “that’s just your body doing that, you may grow out of it.” I thought that was an okay answer until I went to an ACTUAL gyno that CARES about patients yesterday, and they ran a series of test like they were SUPPOSED TO DO. Who would’ve thought. Dr. Watkins gave me medication that landed me in the ER with gastritis and didn’t even tell me that medication had a risk of that. I mistakenly told her the wrong pharmacy and told her the right one a MINUTE later and she had the WORST attitude about it. Don’t come here if you want your problems ACTUALLY solved and not just bandied. Idk where all these great reviews are coming from but she clearly picks and chooses who to be nice too, awful doctor.

Hello Consumer World! This is not the place to go for your gynecological needs. Dr. Watkins is not as compassionate as her partner Dr. Fanarijian. One, they dont take military insurance with one of the largest bases in town. The second thing is I ran out of a prescription and called the team. I may have had 4 or 5 birth control pills left and no one filled it. Her cohort, Dr. Fanarijian was nice enough to send a prescription out for me because Dr. Watkins was not in the office that day. The 3rd thing is late fees and time of arrival.I admit being late reflects patient care and staffs time but 10 minute grace period is ridiculous! Also, accusing me of cancellation when you refused to see me because I was more than 10 minutes late (20 mins), is false documentation, please dont lie about that. The first time was a cancellation only because I honestly forgot I had an appointment in April. Ive been a nurse for 10 years and will be a nurse practitioner next year. I have taken care of many patients without complaints and saved many lives. I try to treat people the way I want to be treated. The first time I met her she didnt have this welcoming, bedside manner kind of personality so I dont know if she is trying to refuse care or just doesnt care about my needs but eager to get 50 bucks from patients, either way is fine. I will find a much better physician. So please consider doing your research and read your reviews before seeing a provider!****************************************************************08/25/23Good morning Consumer World!I received a phone call today from Dr. Fanarijian apologizing for the care provided. She went above and beyond her call of duty to provide the care I needed and will even send referrals for GYN in my new location. Its tough being a girl , but it makes all the difference when you have caring providers to provide professional guidance and to put you more at ease. Thanks again for the care you provide to all women. Dont take my word for it, go see for yourself at South Tampa Gynecology!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Watkins for many years. I followed her from the other practice and she’s more than worth the 45 min drive each way. Dr. Watkins takes her time with every patient and never, ever makes you feel like your questions or concerns are silly. Also, practice specific, this office is amazing. I’m usually brought back shortly before or close to my appointment and seen shortly thereafter. That’s so rare for a doctor’s office!

She was the rudest doctor I have ever met. I’m still absolutely baffled as to how she is a doctor. She should not be in a position to care for anyone. She’s pushy, condescending, and straight up evil.I was excited to establish myself as a new patient with her, but that changed during the first two minutes of her entering the room. She was argumentative when I told her my last primary care doctor was at the women’s clinic at Bay Pines VA hospital. She told me she knew I was wrong because she used to work there. I told her I couldn’t remember the name of the doctor because they changed so often, the which is why I wanted to establish myself with a doctor elsewhere and have something stable. That noticeably ruffled her feathers. As if her allegiance was to some unknown doctor at another facility instead of her patient. Then when I began describing the reason for my visit she was not interested in offering any solutions unless I agreed to have her perform an exam first. I told her I had just started my period on the way there and wasn’t prepared for an exam. I told her I’d rather wait for another time and asked if she could help treat my symptoms I was having before the exam (I’ve been having irregular & heavy periods, making me lethargic. I need to get back on my b12 supplements that the VA stopped sending me. I also wanted to be tested for anemia/iron deficiency due to the heavy blood loss). She said no, the only way she could help me is by giving me a pelvic exam first. I reminded her the reason of my visit and asked if there were some supplements she could put me on and listed my concerns again. Instead she got up, said she couldn’t help me, and rushed out the door.I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to keep sitting there or if the visit was over so I got up and found her in her office. I asked if we were done and she said yes. I told her I felt like she was being rude about me declining the exam. She gave a quick “sorry”. And continued typing on her computer. If someone declines being probed and prodded and wants to have a conversation with their docstor first,I don’t think that’s too much to ask. Especially while on their period. I don’t think patients should be treated like scum. Let’s also consider the fact that some girls have issues due to past trauma (which I do). Even without that, maybe establish some trust and rapport, and listen to someone’s complaints before immediately jumping to speculum insertion. Her behavior was completely unacceptableDo not recommend.
