Unfortunately i am very disappointed in the customer service that was provided to me. The provider was informative however, it is extremely difficult in this area to find an office that is kind to all patients. The receptionist was never kind to me at all neither was the CMA. From other reviews this has been an issue for some time. This has to change immediately.

Dr. Schiwek was AMAZING for my delivery and post partum. She was so attentive, and I felt so at ease with her! She never seemed annoyed the two check ups at the hospital when all was fine. She wanted me to be sure and go with my gut. I absolutely love her!

Kelly and some of the other nurses do not take any complaints seriously, their go-to response for any concern is something along the lines of “Someone else or I had it worse, so deal with it”. I would not recommend anyone use this clinic, the drive elsewhere is more than worth it.

I will never recommend this place for any type of care, I waited several months for an annual GYN exam and when I finally showed up, I waited an hour. I kept waiting and observing staff leaving early due to a mild tornado watch, and 3 patients went ahead of me.I reached out to my supervisor that I was running late to my work meeting, and checked in with the receptionist again and told her I had seen 3 people went ahead of me. And if she can please check when I will go next. The receptionist told me to give her a second and she walked away and called another staff member. I realized something was definitely off, and was told the Medical provider had left early due to the weather. I was scheduled an appointment for another day.I understand if staff have to leave early due to weather conditions, but as a healthcare worker I have always communicated to my clients if we are closing early and need to reschedule because I CARE about my patients. The Medical team as a whole lack communication, efficiency and very unprofessional from the medical team to make such a huge mistake. I will not be attending this place ever! Not recommending this to anyone, I have options, and will be going somewhere else.

Wont be attending this office anymore. Very unprofessional and doesnt treat women with respect. The whole office is very immature when dealing with women of different backgrounds. I have complex health issues and mental health struggles. I stuttered on the phone because I have difficulty with speech and communication. I also have memory problems because of an injury in the hospital. ( I was poisoned by malpractice)I told this to the person on the phone. I asked her to accommodate me and to repeat something because she was talking way too fast. she repeated it and laughed as if to say duh I just said that why cant you comprehend what I said. She also said she only laughed because she thought it was funny. I dont think health issues are funny nor is making fun of a disabled person who is asking for your help. It doesnt take much effort to repeat information. The last thing anyone wants when they are dealing with health issues is to be treated with disrespect. I need someone who really cares about patients not getting a paycheck. I will be attending another Obgyn even if its farther from home. I take my health seriously.

Gone here for years until they discriminated against me for having a service dog asking why I didnt need it before. I did just didnt have her. asking several times if she would bite trying to refuse me my appointment. And over all lying about their policy and claiming that my dog was not a service dog. Asking for proof not accepting her doing her job as proof and I suspect changing things in my chart as I do know it was in my chart that I had a service animal but somehow that got changed to emotional support animal

My visit here was very comforting. All the nurses and the doctor had excellent bedside manner. I was seen in the ER, a place where no one wants to be, but all the staff treated me so kindly and gentle I almost felt like I was the only one there. 10 out 10 experience. What really shocked me the most was the next day. I had a follow up call from the nurse and was able to set me up with an appointment with a specialist.

Was told at initial ultrasound meeting that she could bring two individuals to sit in on the ultrasound. Upon arrival on the next ultrasound meeting, only one person was allowed in. We assured the tech that she told us we could have two people but they claim that policy had been changed due to COVID. We are in the middle of 2023, thank you for having us drive out of our way for nothing. Nobody knows what is going on at this office.

For the second time during this pregnancy I’ve been forgotten about and left sitting in the sub waiting room. When brought to staffs attention that I needed to have my blood work done (for glucose test) then because it had exceeded the time. I was instructed to wait in the hall. After the blood work she tells me to have a good day. I asked if I was supposed to see a provider, she was puzzled as to why I hadn’t already and told me to check with the front desk. After speaking with her she told me I could be seen an additional 45 minutes later. My appointment was at 9:30, I left around 11. Without seeing a provider and the best they could do was reschedule me for the following day. That’s an additional part of my work day missed, along with the 30 minute commute to the office.Absolutely unacceptable and wouldn’t recommend coming to this practice. If you want to feel like a number rather than an expecting mother, this is the place for you.

I have been going to the Smithfield location since August of 2017 for pregnancy appointments and I just delivered my baby recently at one of the UNC hospitals. I had a great experience through this office! The staff was very friendly and I felt that I was taken care of. I saw Dr. Lewis the most and she was fun to get to know and she was very professional. Dr. Mury delivered my baby and she was also kind and professional. The staff is small enough that you will see familiar faces when you visit which I personally like because I remember them and they remember me. Overall, great experience!

I cannot say enough amazing things about UNC and all of the providers and staff at Smithfield/Clayton! Dr. Benfeldt delivered my baby and I felt like my baby and I were safe throughout the whole process with him as our doctor. I am so thankful for all of the staff at UNC and the care they provided for me and my baby since finding out I was pregnant. Sad to be leaving NC because I would want to be seen by them again for any future OB/GYN issues. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR SUCH AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!!

One of the absolute worst places to go! Wait times are ridiculously long, just for the doctor to come in for less than five minutes and rush out of the door. When my wife told them about her concerns and health issues, they actually said to her, “you pick your poison in pregnancy.” They consistently dismiss any of our concerns and offer no remedies or advice. The doctor missed the delivery, and when she finally came in, all she had to say was “y’all made a mess.” She offered no apologies for being late nor did she offer congratulations. Before my wife even gave birth, they started pressuring her about birth control after delivery. She has told them repeatedly that she is not interested. Horrible!!

Dr. Mury at UNC Womens Health Smithfield has the worst bedside manner I have ever seen. We are a military family that just moved here from across the country. My wife is 8 months pregnant and Dr. Mury completely disregard our concerns/wishes. Instead of showing empathy, she blew us off and told us to seek care elsewhere. My wife has anxiety around doctors and medical facilities. I accompany her to all her appointments to comfort her and advocate for her. Dr. Mury had no interest in what we had to say. She had an attitude from the beginning and had no interest in engaging in meaningful conversation. She treated us poorly and with out an ounce of kindness. She has added stress to our pregnancy and we will never have anything to do with UNC Women’s Smithfield again.

From day one of going to this place I felt like they rushed me in and rushed me out. It’s my first pregnancy so I have lots of questions, but this place did not make me feel comfortable enough to ask anything. I felt like I was bothering them or inconveniencing by asking any questions. Even when I did ask questions the answers were very vague. I felt like I was just going through a fast food drive through the way the rushed me and rushed me out every time. The final straw was when I had an appointment at 11 and I called because there had been a car accident that caused some traffic so I was running about 10 minutes late. I called up there and spoke to one of the ladies at the front desk and she told me that they would still see me as long I was in the 15 minute window. When I get there to check in the lady with short blonde hair told me they couldn’t see me. Even after she went to the back office and asked if they could still see me and I heard one of the ladies say yes I told her we could still see her. I had an ultrasound at 11 and a routine check up at the 11:30 and they wouldn’t see me for either. I do not recommend this place to anyone considering. They need to do better.

The staff are very nice and fairly quick to perform their jobs. The main problem as usual is one of the doctors. Dr William Turlington was the doctor that we were there to see. I took my pregnant wife there and didn’t anticipate a problem because we had been there many times before. On this occasion though we were taken to wait in one exam room to be given a test, then taken to another room for an ultrasound, then taken to another room for vitals then put back in the same room to wait before being sent back to the waiting room where the doctor forgot to follow up with us. Only after sitting in the crowded waiting room 2 1/2 hours into our visit did we ask someone to make sure that the doctor hadn’t forgotten about us. They apologized and said that he hadn’t after it was clear that he had and moved us back to one of the exam rooms. While waiting with the door open we could hear the doctor in the hall speaking with a staff member complaining about other patients and saying that he “couldn’t do the mother f**king job anymore”. Then after being informed he had kept someone waiting that long proceeded to strike up a conversation with the staff member while we waited, listening to it.In summary, the staff isn’t bad but “Dr” Turlington represents an awful lot that’s wrong with medicine, namely a disrespect for patients and an arrogant negligence that in my strong opinion should have patients, especially pregnant women, pushing hard to see other doctors at the clinic.

Felt like they really didnt listen to me. If you are high risk, dont go here. They said they are not any high risk doctors around (which is a lie) and told me I would have to go to the doctor in Raleigh which is way out of my means and have my baby in Raleigh. I just felt like they just wanted me just to do to Doctors affiliated with them to ensure they get paid instead of my needs. Lucky I found a doctor who is high risk and in the area and wish I would have found them first. All in all, bad experience.

I scheduled my initial prenatal check-up and ultrasound with this practice and was completely underwhelmed. First off, I ended up waiting for an hour just to be seen by a doctor. After finally meeting the doctor and having a very awkward exam, I was asked about my expectations for the birth. When I told him I wanted a natural childbirth, he all but laughed in my face and asked if I meant I wanted to go squat in a field. If this was his attempt at jokes, I was not laughing... I felt his comments were completely unfounded and disrespectful.Ultimately, I decided to drive an hour out of my way to be seen by the Birth & Wellness Center in Chapel Hill (with whom I had a wonderful experience throughout my entire pregnancy and birth). I have absolutely nothing against hospital births. My first child was born at WakeMed in Raleigh (with the OB drs. at Kamm, McKenzie, et. al.) and I had a fantastic experience there. But just the thought of giving birth with Southeast Womens Center and at Johnston Memorial Hospital gives me the heeby-jeebies.If you want anything more than a drugged up, scheduled Cesarean birth, or dont care about feeling comfortable with your doctor, by all means - this place will welcome you with open arms.

Dr. Murray made my whole experience a good one.i just want to say thank you

For the longest time, I was not going to leave a review. But, I decided it was necessary so another mother would not go through what I been through. Back in May 2016. I gave birth to a beautiful princess. I have been to this office before for previous children & had no problem. To make a long story short, I ended up getting a serious infection after my c-section due to carelessness, being worked on by trainees, and also left some placenta inside my uterus. In result, I ended up going into septic & toxic shock after being discharge from the hospital. I return to the hospital because I was in tremendous pain, and not realizing I was actually dying. I was transported to WakeMed ICU because I was going into septic and toxic shock, and spent nearly a month there, trying to fight off the infection. After having about nine I.V pushing fluid inside of me. My body also was filled with fluid that even after surgery at WakeMed I ended up weighing 187 pounds.I was deeply hurt because, I actually thought I wouldnt live to see my children, and how they were so careless and discharging me to basically go home and almost died. I am not the type to bash anyone or any type of place, but I do not want anyone else to go through what I been through.Im glad to live another day, but now I have a disformed stomach, a right leg that is completely numb down to my ankle. Which means its basically no good. I also, have to remind myself to use the bathroom because I barely have any nerves left on my right side or my lower abdomen.Just pay attention, and I pray no one will ever have to go through with what I went through. There is not a single attorney or anyone that can help with this type of malpractice case. Its just something I have to deal with and live with the rest of my life being hinder in using my right leg, and other parts.

While all of my experience is with their Med Spa in Clayton, Im sure their Smithfield office gives top notch care as well. Ive had several procedures at the Med Spa and couldnt be more impressed with their cutting edge services and professionalism from all the staff. When I invest my time, money and energy into making me a better me, I want someone who knows what they are doing, doesnt try to sell me procedures I dont need and offers me incentives to come back and SWC Med Spa certainly fills that desire of mine. You can choose to age gracefully or age beautifully................I chose the latter because SWC Med Spa made it so easy!!!!

My wife and I started pregnancy care here recently, and we thought it was going to go well until the first appointment, where we both were not allowed to meet one of our providers, understandably because of COVID.After contacting patient relations, however, and communicating with the office manager through the proper channels, I have found that due to their “COVID-19 policies,” the father of any family under the care of this clinic will never be afforded any opportunity to meet with, measure up, and build trust with any of the doctors caring for his wife and child until such time as the delivery. Make of this what you will but my family makes it a practice not to trust healthcare providers by default since we have had significant contact with the healthcare system over the past few years and we’ve witnessed firsthand how corrupt the healthcare system truly can be.Our first ultrasound went very well, though after discussing with my mother who is decorated in the field of sonography, and after consulting with the literal author of a medical sonography textbook, we found that the sonographer had editorialized and embellished during our appointment and relayed to us false information us about things she was seeing during the ultrasound.Overall, this medical practice is very shady to say the least, and the office hides behind its COVID-19 policies so as to provide as little actual care and accommodations as possible. I don’t trust them, and I’m likely never going to be allowed to build any trust with them in the care of my little family.Attached to this review is my reply to the e-mail from the office manager, Ms. Brantley, where I replied to her email that refused my request to make an accommodation in regard to their office policies in our case. I did not include her original email because I’m not here to put an employee of the clinic on blast, but to simply to inform others of their willful refusal to make a very simple concession.
