Dr. Ruiz delivered my son and we had the best experience and delivery. After having a traumatizing first delivery (at a different hospital with a different doctor) Dr. Ruiz definitely listened to all my concerns and treated me so well. He is the best doctor I’ve ever been to. He is so caring, thorough and listens to your concerns and doesn’t rush you out. I will be coming back to see him if I have anymore kids! Thank you Dr. Ruiz and Methodist hospital for your amazing care !!

Highly recommend Dr Jose Ruiz III. His staff is amazing and the doctor treats you like a human, where he takes his time answering any questions or concerns your may have. I was so lucky to find Dr Ruiz. He was leading my first pregnancy. I live in US for quite some time, but I am a foreigner and having a baby in different country was kinda stressful given the differences in medical care. But Dr Ruiz was always super helpful and patient with all my questions and concerns. I love his calm energy and that he really cares about their patients. Even though he has so many people using his services he makes an effort to remember personal things that we shared with him and always ask about them. We are moving to another state soon but if we stay in TX, I would have all my future pregnancies led by him.

Dr. Ruiz was highly recommended by a dental hygienist who has seen him for over 15 years. Dr. Ruiz is super friendly and you feel at ease right away. No creepy feeling even when it was my first time seeing him. He was very thorough in his explanations and he answered all my questions and did not rush me out-you don’t get the assembly line treatment that is too common nowadays. Doctor Ruiz is an amazing doctor. He actually listens to you and explains as many times as you need him to. His nurse Linda I absolutely love her. With her I always feel welcome and she has always been so good to me. They are a great team both so amazing. I have been a patient for over 14 years these two are brands down the best. The office staff are for the most part okay but usually rid and unkind. I have had one lady constantly changing my appointment or canceling them because it didn’t seem like a meaningful appointment. I addressed it with Linda and Doctor Ruiz and I have not had an issue since.

Staff is mostly friendly, although very strict in mask and visitors rules. Dr. Ruiz is an amazing doctor. He’s very caring and would definitely take care great care of you. Dr. Ruiz is always prompt, when deliveries and other circumstances allow. Office is beautiful, staff very nice. Dr. Ruiz treats his patients like friends, and takes the time to actually talk to you. He listens. As for his skills, he is my gynecologist, and Ive had very good treatment with him, but even more importantly, I referred my daughter to him for both of her deliveries, and he is now following her for a third child. I very much appreciate the care hes given to her. Im a nurse, and I originally was referred to him by OB nurses I knew from the hospital who had seen him work, and when one of them says hes the best, thats high praise. Couldnt be more pleased.

Dr Ruiz is OUTSTANDING. He delivered my first baby and throughout the whole pregnancy he was always so attentive to every detail I felt very safe and in great hands when I had to have an emergency c section that is why in this second pregnancy I knew exactly who I’d want to deliver my baby. I get nerveous for womens check up but Dr.Ruiz talk to you and soon as you know it he did what he had to do and forgot about being nerveous lol. I know my health is in good hands he is amazeing at what he does and im glad he delivered both my babies✨

Dr. Ruiz is a phenomenal provider, however,the front desk office staff leaves much to be desired. Posted signs of mask mandate and no visitors in the clinic but allowed a patients spouse and child to enter the clinic unmasked and didnt correct it when it was brought to their attention. Nurse left shortly after appointment without seeing me out like they normally do. I understand about a busy office but it should not cause a lack in personal care of the patient.

I can’t say enough how happy and grateful I am for Dr. Ruiz. I have been very tense and anxious since day one of my pregnancy. I changed to Dr. Ruiz as my obgyn at the beginning of my 2nd trimester and the very first appt was honestly a breath of fresh air. I felt so much relief and a sense of peace as I was coming from previous providers where I did not feel that way!Overall, I am feeling so happy and relieved after my first appt!

Beyond impressed is putting it mildly. Dr. Ruiz is the true definition of an impeccable, articulate, compassionate provider. Never had I ever had a first impression from a provider go as smoothly as possible than with him. He takes his time explaining in detail and you’re just not another “chart” with him. Ive been going to Dr. Ruiz for over 8 years and I wouldnt see anybody else. Hes personable, kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, professional and doesnt rush even though most of the time hes running behind. But, Im ok with waiting because he gives me the same time and doesnt rush me off. Hes always been available to me when Ive needed his care.

I scheduled an appointment 6 weeks ago only to have it cancelled at 6 PM the evening before. I called back to reschedule as the voicemail suggested, but of course, the appointment was cancelled after hours. When I called the next morning the only available appointment was 2 months out. I understand unforseen events and surgeries are common in this practice, however, this business has been running long enough to figure out a better method of dealing with rescheduling. Being so overbooked that you cannot appropriately accommodate reschedules initiated by your office is a BIG problem.Update:So, here we are a day after my original scheduled appointment and I get a call from Dr. Ruiz saying he can see me the following morning if I still need an appointment. I tell him I already scheduled with another physician. He says, Sorry, I have a patient with cancer I was doing surgery on. How DARE he try to make me feel guilty by telling me confidential information about another patient? How does he know I DONT have cancer? If this is the level of professionalism and standard of care to be expected from Dr. Ruiz, I honestly feel like I dodged a bullet.

I drive 8 hours round trip to see Dr. Ruiz. I have had many problems and many surgery including him delivering my baby. I have been doing this for over 10 years. His bedside manner are worth the time & effort on my part to know I’m comfortable & in good hands with him. I can never thank him enough for everything he has done for me.

I do not recommend. The staff that answers the phone are extremely rude, and it so happens they do not take patients past the 1st trimester. Which is odd considering how “good” of an office this is they should take patients at any time for wanting a “better” doctor. Moving to SA for better medical treatment is an inconvenience or maybe i’m looking in the wrong place. Had hopes from all the good reviews but do not be fooled.

I ABSOLUTELY love every visit to Dr. Ruizs office, his staff are friendly, knowledgeable, caring and make the experience enjoyable. I especially love most of the nurses have been there since my prengancy with my first born, now 13 years old! I love the look and feel of the offices in the Live Oak Methodist Hospital buildings. Very clean, sleek and modern offices.

Dr. Ruiz is like no other OBGYN that I’ve met!!! He was absolutely a delight to meet. He made me feel very comfortable. He explained and answered all my questions in great detail.

Dr. Ruiz and his team are incredibly attentive and thoughtful. They make sure to review your chart BEFORE they meet with you, and always check that all your questions have been answered, before leaving the exam room. Front desk staff is not always helpful. Comes across as rude and short when answering questions. Don’t think they should be the first face to greet patients.However Dr. Ruiz is an amazing doctor who is very friendly and takes the time to hear you as a patient and as a person. And I will not leave him as my OB.The only thing that always bothers me there is the wait time is horrible. I arrived at 245 for my appointment at 3:20, I was not called back till about 4:30, then I had to wait again about another 20 minutes I didn’t end up leaving till 5:55.I liked it when he had his office at CulebraBut will not be switching anytime, he really is worth the wait!

I think Dr. Ruiz is wonderful, but I sat in the waiting room for almost an hour and then sat in a room waiting for the Doctor for another 40+ mins. I understand he’s an obgyn and could of deliver a baby earlier that morning, but I feel like we should be told he’s running behind especially with COVID so I could have chosen to sit in my car until I was ready to be seen.

Ive been a patient of Dr. Ruiz for several years. He is a wonderful Dr & has always treated me with respect & dignity. The medical assistants are also very proficient. The office staff mishandled my paperwork after my digital log-in at the kiosk & that was part of the reason why I spent quite a bit of time waiting to be called by the medical assistant to the exam area.My only issue with the IFWH (Institute for Womens Health) location on Medical Drive is the parking garage. Its difficult to find a parking space specifically, it took me over 20 minutes to find a place. It was then necessary to walk quite a distance to the elevators which are only on one side of the parking garage. Parking fee was $4.00 for 2 hrs 19 minutes.I will continue to see Dr. Ruiz regardless of the parking situation. In my opinion the parking garage was poorly planned & lacks signage.

Dr.Ruiz is the absolute best he delivered me now he will be delivering my baby. He is so caring and as one on one as possible especially for first time moms like me. If you call his office with a problem he will personally follow up he’s the best.

However the staff located in the main lobby on the 7th floor could use some customer service skills. They arent very friendly and seem a little unorganized.Roxanne/Team Leader on the 6th floor (IFWH), is very helpful and has great customer service!

I have been going to this doctor for the past few years. I wish I would have known about him sooner. He and his staff are friendly and professional. Whether a woman is pregnant, trying to get pregnant or just a regular visit this is a comfortable environment. The parking can be a challenge but good customer service is still worth it.
