I was disagnosed in June 2021 with Prostate cancer and was referred to Dr Ahlering by my previous Urologist. During my initial visit, it was very obvious to me that he had throughly reviewed my record and spoke very intelligently and with complete compassion and understanding of the situation. I elected to have him perform my surgery and couldnt be happier with him, his office and the care I received. Being in the medical field myself, I recognized that the care I was receiving was top notch and later found many others that recommended Dr. Ahlering, including patients and doctors.

Dr. Ahlering really doesn’t need any reviews. He is well-known and well respected throughout the community. I work in the medical field and because of that I feel I have become a little picky with the care that my parents receive. Once we got his prostate cancer diagnosis I took to the internet and found his name consistently come up. I was impressed by his resume and his extensive experience. Due to COVID, some of the appointments were done over the phone which worked better for us anyways. We didn’t want to expose my parents (and vice versa) unnecessarily. Lydia and Anne were SO helpful. They gave us their personal numbers and responded very quickly with any questions. All of the paperwork and instructions were very clear. Once the surgery was done, Dr. Ahlering came downstairs personally to tell us how everything went. We were so touched by this gesture and were not expecting it at all. We are so appreciative of all the love and care we received from Dr. Ahlering and his entire staff. If you unfortunately need the care of a prostate surgeon, look no further. We are indebted to him for the health he has given to my father. Thank you Dr. Ahlering

Absolutely the best. One of the most skilled prostate surgeons in the world. Innovative-at the forefront of his field. Super intelligent. Incredibly caring. The well being of his patients is his primary concern. Answers any and all questions with compassion. Always does what he says he will do-call you back, return email, etc. His entire staff is unbelievable also. They work very hard to make your experience with them as smooth and pleasant as possible. If you are unlucky and have prostate cancer Dr. Ahlering is the guy to see. You will not receive better results anywhere in the WORLD.

I cannot say enough about the wonderful care and attention to detail I received from Dr. Ahlering and his support staff. Our initial consultation with Dr. Ahlering was one-on-one, performed in his private office. The setting was informal and comfortable. Dr. Ahlering put us at ease with his easy and confident manner and the discussion was extremely informative and inclusive of all aspects of the process and procedure. Dr. Ahlerlings support staff, Lydia, Catherine and Ann are a tremendous asset and provided up-to-date and accurate information throughout the entire process. All of the appointments were on time and efficient. The most important aspect of course is the end result! I cannot be more pleased with the results the surgery. Having researched everything I could find, I had lowered my expectations as to the final outcome. Im please to report that not only did the final result well exceed my expectations, I was relieved in discovering that many of the ancillary negative side-effects were not present - at least not for me.

Doctor Ahlering has been a savior for me in more ways than one. He performed my robotic prostatectomy 14 years ago, and has been a consistent source of advice and comfort ever since. Dr. Ahlering is the only health care provider I have known who always takes time to reply to my email questions with thoughtful, pertinent, and helpful information.Dr. Ahlering is clearly very dedicated to his art, and keeps himself immersed in the field so that his care is top-notch.If I had to re-live the experience of prostate cancer, and was faced with choosing who should help me cope with the extreme psychological trauma of that experience, I cant imagine finding anyone who would be able to more fully and completely earn my trust.Thank you, Dr. Ahlering for saving my life!

I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2007 and after considering my options with several specialists, I decided to have a prostatectomy. I initially searched for a surgeon near where we lived at the time (Seattle) but, considering the seriousness of the potential side effects of this intervention, I widen the search until I found Dr. Ahlering website and contacted his office.There they explained the process and offered several referral patients that had recently being operated by Dr. Ahlering, all of whom were enthusiastic in their recommendations.I had surgery in mid May 2007 and suffered none of the incontinence problems associated with this procedure.During the recovery period and for many years afterwards, Dr Ahlering and his staff were always available to answer my questions and provide advice.I highly recommend Dr. Ahelring if you are looking for a surgeon in his field.

Posted by David Brown:I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2002 and I was the 5th robotic surgery performed by Dr. Ahlering at UCI. After surgery I was informed that the cancer had spread beyond the prostate and I have been in the care of Dr. Ahlering since that time. He always takes time to listen, takes time to explain everything and has given me exceptional care. This year my cancer had returned and by the constant care from Dr. Ahlering, I am again in remission - not bad for 16 years post surgery! I have encouraged all of my male friends and relatives to be sure to get checked once a year and I have also encouraged these same friends and relatives that if they are ever diagnosed with cancer to be sure to see Dr. Ahlering if they want the best care possible.

Dr. Thomas Ahlering is the salt-of-the-earth. He is professional, classy, extremely knowledgeable and one of the best prostate surgeons in the United States. He spends sufficient time on appointments and does great follow-up on the telephone. Lydia, one of his admin. assts. is also great with following up and getting Dr. A. to follow-up with you. If youre having a prostate problem...STOP... and make an appointment with Dr. Ahlering.

I was treated by Dr. Ahlering for my prostate cancer (Davinci Robotics) in 2004 and have had yearly follow up visits for the past fourteen years. I have been cancer free and owe him so much for his surgery skills and his care and guidance that he has provided me. I have referred some of my friends and family to consult with him to review surgery options.

When I was diagnosed with PC in 2007 I took a week tomdo my due diligence. Dr Toms name kept coming to the top. Turns out he was only 20 minutes from my home. I set up an appt with my wife. When we walked out she turned to me and said that is see your doctor and I fully agreed.GoinG into the surgery I was fully aware of the risk and possibe complications. The surgery was a total success. I had a week of pads and mild ED for about 6 months. Since then I have been symptom free.He has a wonderful Staff and Lydia is in touch and available to answer questions all the time.Since my surgery I know Dr Ahlering has made significant refinements to his technique and his statistic show it. One of my driving forces was the fact he was attached to very good medical school.I wish any of you who are going through the decision to consider Dr. Ahlering. I do not think you can go wrong. Dr. Ahlering is one of the finest urological surgeons in the country. He was personally recommended to me by Dr. Alan Partin, Chief of Urology at Johns Hopkins, the top rated urology department in the world for the past several decades. Dr. Partin stated that there is no one in the world you would rather have perform a DaVinci prostatectomy than Tom Ahlering. My surgery with Tom was flawless as predicted, with no complications or side effects. In addition, Tom is very personable to relate to and a consummate professional.

Dr. Ahlering used DaVinci machine performed radical prostatectomy on me in 2006. The operation went extremely well. After a week and thereafter, I don’t have any side effects. I can urinate normally. I can proudly say I have not yet used even one piece of diaper ever since the surgery.

Never got a chance to experience his reputed world class care. Doesn’t take insurance . Cash only. (Even though his website asks for insurance cards.) Wish that would have been made perfectly clear before I spent a week jumping through hoops getting him medical records.) Mixed messages. Really disappointed. At the end of my rope.

Very professional, answered my questions in a way that was understandable. Surgery and recovery where exactly as represented with minimum loss of blood and a quick recovery. I was very pleased with my decision to use Dr. A for my prostate surgery.

Very friendly staffs when I made calls last month for family members medical matters , but they dont accept insurance, one of my family member is 70 years old with medicare plan, , they dont accept our medicare plan, they want to cash which I was so surprise can anyone explain why? thank you so much.
