We are so grateful for Dr. Klipstein and everyone at InVia Fertility who have made our dreams come true! Our family is so happy and cannot thank you enough for helping us complete our family.
Dr. Karande got us pregnant on our first transfer. We were allowed a “natural” transfer which made the entire process much more relaxing. Dr. Karande is very skilled and knowledgeable. We live in the northern suburbs so it was a relief to find out that I could go to their Northbrook satellite location for monitoring. Sheila, who is in the northbrook office, is a total angel. Her ultrasounds were always thorough. I never left her office feeling like I needed more information. I am so thrilled we chose Invia!
I had decided a long time ago that Id keep my mouth shut about my experience at InVia and with Dr. Klipstein, but a recent experience with a friend of mine made me feel like I could no longer keep silent, lest other women waste their time at this joke of a fertility clinic.I have been going through various forms of fertility treatments for 5 years. in that time period, we have been seen multiple physicians to get their opinion (weve also moved 4 times, so had no choice but to change clinics). We wound up with InVia on the recommendation from another doctor when we decided due to the pandemic we wanted to keep our treatment closer to home.Dr. Klipstein spent an hour with my husband and I. She didnt really present any information that was new or interesting which was disappointing as well. But more than that, at the end of the hour, she told me that due to their requirements for BMI, I had to lose 50 lbs before theyd do an egg retrieval. Not because she was concerned about egg quality or fertility issues, but because I was anesthesia risk. I explained that I had actually previously undergone an egg retrieval, and had 21 surgeries under my belt with zero complications from anthesthesia (also anesthesia is not a requirement for an egg retrieval, but alas). She insisted this was the clinic rule and it wasnt her decision to make. When I asked to discuss this with anesthesia or with the medical director making this decision I was ignored. So literally - was my BMI NOT clear on my medical history before you took $350 for a consult visit and wasted an hour of my time? When I explained how difficult it was to lose weight given my PCOS, etc - and I explained that I worked closely with a dietician on diet and exercise and was doing the best I can - she pushed a KETO diet, of course, run directly out of her clinic (more money for them) and a diet that is incredibly dangerous for women with PCOS who are ALREADY at risk of heart disease. But you know, since their clinic sponsors this expensive program, Im sure it brings in more money for them.InVias home page claims, youre more than just a number! Thats literally their motto. And yet, they wont take on any patients they dont feel that they can be successful with, and they fat shame and scapegoat women. Id avoid this clinic like the plague. And Ive told literally everyone I know considering them the same thing.
