I’ve been bringing my daughter here since she was born and I am absolutely content with having Colleen as her pediatrician. She is absolutely the BEST! She always make sure to follow up when she’s not feeling well and makes sure that all my questions are answered. Also Kiara from the front desk is always so helpful!
Ms. Camille Love NP is the best provider there is!! I love that she was able to be see for my wellness check!! I loved that she listened to my concerns I had and didn’t dismiss me like other Dr’s have done! This clinic was lucky to have her as a provider! Its just saddening this is her last week! I hope the clinic know what a great loss they will suffer. Best of luck Camille!
I’ve been bringing my family here for years and I really appreciate the amazing services we receive. From the moment we walk in, front desk especially Jennifer Flores is always so helpful getting us checked in and they always do their best to accommodate us with their earliest appointments available. Dr. Mafla is hands down one of the best! He extremely patient and knowledgeable. I definitely would recommend this location to others.
My grandmother had an appointment this morning at 9:20 am. The office decided to cancel our appointment and not notify us about it. When I called I had a rude lady on the phone. My grandmother is 82 years old and can barely walk. These ladies did not care for her what so ever. I am so disgusted with this experience.Update. You guys were very quick to reply to a bad review but I have now called and emailed the email that was give to to me below and still have not heard from anyone.
One of the worst services, very bad service, I would not recommend it, when you schedule an appointment they give it to you for more than a month, and when you go to the clinic they dont have patience, they dont let you explain the symptoms, they think they know everything before That you explain them well, they dont listen to you carefully. If I could give 0 stars, I would, I hope they improve their service, and take better care of patients. I think we deserve to be listened to, the doctors are here to help, thats their job. .
I cannot express how much I love Colleen Tapia DNP! She always goes above and beyond with my children! She has been the only pediatrician to find out what was wrong with my son, she didn’t just “refer” us to a specialist she helped us as much as she could!! She is such a great asset I hope this clinic knows what a great Dr they have!
Shout out to Jennifer Flores because without her access would be NOTHING. I truly hope she is appreciated for her hard work and knowledge in that place cause a good worker is hard to find now a days and shes the only one that seems to know everything and anything I call and ask her about. (If she doesnt know something she definitely finds out and calls back with answers). I appreciate everything Jennifer does for myself and my family she is very friendly and very efficient in answering any questions we do not understand. Keep up the great work Jennifer you definitely deserve a raise.
Personally I highly recommend this place they have providers that I have really connected with. Carmen Perez is one of the phlebotomists in the back and she is just wonderful and always goes above and beyond for the patient. My P.C.P Camille Love is also amazing she is more than accommodating with referrals and medications and overall a great healthcare provider
I worked with Susanna the benefits specialist and she was amazing. I wasnt able to get my paperwork in til the last day, she assured me it was going to be ok, and processed the paperwork promptly and efficiently so that there was no delay in benefits. She was so kind and helpful.
I’ve had horrible experiences here before and was about to look for a different clinic until I got to meet with NP Camille Love! She is straightforward but also empathetic. She is NOT cold and doesn’t make you feel like you’re doomed. I literally travel 2 hours one-way just to keep her as my provider and will continue to do so.
The front desk ladies were very helpful, especially. Jennifer Flores. And Carmen from the lab . She was extremely gentle, friendly and with a great smile. Keep it up ladies! Awesome work!
Colleen was absolutely wonderful with my son! She was kind and courteous and took her time asking and answering any questions that we had! I would definitely go back to see her again!!!
I really wish you are able to give zero stars.Dr.Bhagi wrote my son a referral back in June for speech therapy.As that being my main concern for him I immediately got him scheduled with under the rainbow. Of course with taking off work comes in play with FMLA. Basically I was told for 3 weeks I needed an appointment to get my paperwork done ( makes sense) on the DAY my FMLA paperwork was DUE I received call from Dr.Bhagi saying she could not fill out the paperwork. I then had to call off work again missing an unpaid day to get everything situated. My appointment was at 11 am the doctors called us back at 10:20 we were out of the room by 10:40 the paper work was completed by 11. I asked if it was possible to get a copy of the fax confirmation with all of the original documents and it took them from 11 to 2:20 to FAX PAPERS ! I fax papers all the time it takes a good 1-2 minutes. The doctor then came out to speak to me but a patient caught her attention and she gave me the “ one moment “ finger while she proceeded to see another patient at the time she was supposed to speak with me… so I had to wait an additional 20 mins for that. I go through all of this only for the provider Dr. Baji to half fill out the paperwork missing certain sections. When I specifically told her I needed section 5 filled out she ASSUMED that I would abuse it her words to me were , “not saying you would but if I put a time frame down you could abuse it” THAT WAS NOT HER JOB! I’m assuming because I’m BLACK she felt I would try and get over on the system which would be between my employer and myself. The speech therapist wrote her a note specifically stating my son needs “time frame “ to be seen 1-2X a week for 10-12 weeks & she did the opposite of what they asked of her.. I felt extremely discriminated against from her taking a Hispanic woman before me when she came out FOR me all the way up until she ASSUMED I would abuse services she wrote a referral for. Now my job is at risk when I provided the doctor with schedules as well as excuse absence notes from ALL therapy appointments.HORRIBLE PROVIDER & HORRIBLE OFFICE ! The medical assistant was RUDE! It was sooo much more spitefully things done that I left out the review just because it’ll be a chapter long. But this place is by far the most unprofessional, unorganized place ever! My lawyer would soon be in contact if any of this causes me to lose my job!My error(Speech therapy was through Schwab)
They are rude and I after one of the doctors told my my xray was fine but It was still painful and I let them know and she said youre still young it will go away. Well 8 months later here I am having to go see an othopedics. I had to call twice for them to send my referral to the hospital for an MRI but they never did. Just ended up emailing it myself, among others things. Use to be a great place but most of thier good doctors have left. Will be finding another provider.
Ive never really had any issues with this clinic besides the wait time (sometimes it can be awhile after your scheduled time). Dr Colleen Tapia is great with my kids but this review is directed toward “doctor” Neha Bhagi. I was unfortunate to have a phone appointment with her due to my daughter being very sick. Two hours before the scheduled appt, they called me to register me and ask about her symptoms which I was very specific about. At the time of her scheduled appt I waited and nothing. 50 minutes later, “doctor” called and I felt like she was rushing saying my daughter would be okay, dismissing most of her symptoms. She was about to hang up when I asked her about her red/swollen/discharging eyes and she told me not to worry unless they were really red and painful. At that point I started to think this doctor doesn’t go over the notes since I had already mentioned my daughter complained about her eyes hurting. She ended up telling me to come into clinic just to look at her eyes and see if she needs medicine. She stated she did need eye drops and they also tested her for strep, covid, RSV, and flu. Strep came back fast negative and and she said the rest would take 2-3 days. Once home , hours pass by and I haven’t heard from the pharmacy. I call the clinic to see if doctor submitted prescription and was told she didn’t submit it or put it in notes. Now I’m just plain upset, how does this doctor get paid so much money to just check eyes and can’t even submit a prescription order? She ended up submitting it the next day and until today I haven’t even heard back from her virus results. I truly do applaud MAs, Nurses and Doctors that do everything they can for their patients BUT this doctor Bhagi is not one to applaud. I will never allow my kids to see her again and the clinic can save themselves a phone call and not call me with the results. DO BETTER.
I have only been coming here a short time but the warm welcome the receptionist Jennifer always gives me makes me feel like Im more than just a patient,shes always so friendly and helpful with what ever needs I have also urvi is such a caring doctorand always listens to my needs and concerns.
Horrible service!!!!Waiting room is super crowded, no social distancing at all. The waiting room is dark and looks dirty. Front desk girls are just chatting, and ignored me when arrived. The Doctor decided not to see my son for his appointment, because he had stomach ache the week before, and she wanted him to get tested for covid first. This was an emergency appointment I made on the same day, because my son was injured in school during PE class. I wished they would have told me over the phone that they wouldn’t see him, and not make me waste my time.
Jennifer the receptionist is amazing! I absolutely love her. She is super nice and super helpful. I’ve never had any issues and if anything does come about she always assists me immediately and resolves the matter in a timely fashion. She is the sweetest!
I Made An Appointment 2 Months In Advance. They Called Me Every Week To Confirm. The Day Of The Appointment They Called Twice,Left No Voicemails. I Come Into The Clinic, Only For Them To Tell Me That The Doctors Not In And For Me To Reschedule In 3 Weeks. Had To Miss WorkBecause No Voicemails Were Left. Come To Find Out I Had A Torn Ligament On My Foot, I Would Have Waited Another 3 Weeks. Ridiculous
Usually come here with my Daughter and she loves it . She used to hate getting her blood draw but Carmen helped a lot with calming her down. I wouldn’t take my kids anywhere else.
I would not recommend this doctors office to anyone. They have repeatedly lost my files, X-rays, MRI results and have no explanation other than I don’t know. When I say repeatedly that’s what I mean. I’ve given enough chances. And it’s more the assistant staff than the doctors that aren’t doing their job. If you come here bring your test results from outside sources with you because there is a huge probability they will not have your results.
My experience at this clinic wasn’t bad at all until I was seen by the doctor.The receptionist was very helpful and I waited no more than 10 min to be seen.i was seen by Dr Green and I have no idea if she was having a bad day because I’m still in shock, I explained to her my concerns and her reply was “okay what do you want me to do” I’m assuming she would tell me what is wrong or at least do some blood work to find out, but she didn’t.I told her I could be anemic and she said okay I will prescribe you iron and left the room.They should hire people who want to work and care about patients, this was my first and last visit to this place.
I personally had a very good service about 1month ago first with the appointment by phone with my mother with Dr.Mafla medical assistant i belive her name is Erica was very very helpful in getting my mother an appointment by phone the same day since she was not doing so good she was very polite and caring while calling back to have us come back in person and giving me information on a referral and next appointments my mother was very happy with erica taking care of her in her in person appointment Thank you for everything. Dr.mafla was great aswell he has a great team.
Been coming to this location a few years now. Great patient care. Guadalupe, one of the receptionist there is the best. She’ll help and assist with anything you need help with. Waiting time is not bad at all. Hasn’t been a time where I’ve waited impatiently to be called. I highly recommend!
I was here for a medical internship experience last year. They treated me like garbage, the hiring manager Laura, stated that she would never recommend me to another practice. The trainer constantly degraded me and criticized me in front of patients. In the end, I was escorted out of the clinic like I was a criminal. I now work in one of Chicago s best hospitals and I am very glad they turned me down. Horrible memories surface every time I think of this place. Most of the time, patients were not informed regarding wait times, did not ask the patient if it was okay to have an observer in the room (for training purposes) and protocols were unregulated. The PEDS assistants were great, but are highly underappreciated. If you are considering becoming a patient here or considering a medical internship experience beware!
Access Hawthorne is a very busy medical clinic but they are very efficiently run with a caring, professional staff. Camille Love is a true and caring professional as well as Ms Ghandi.Dr. Mafla is an extremely knowledgeable, caring doctor as well. Their office and staff assistants work tirelessly to help every patient with whatever you need while making you feel at ease and comfortable. There is one staff member that is a true gem! Her name is Belen and she on more than one occasion, went above and beyond to help me schedule very important appointments that I was having a hard time with. Belen reached out to me to see if I needed assistance and I sure did and was so pleasantly surprised that she took care of everything for me. That kind of commitment, compassion and professionalism rarely happens and I just wanted others to know that this medical office has a caring and wonderful staff. Thank you Access Hawthorne!
Worst clinical experience ever. As much time as they wasted for me I might as well gone to Cook county hospital. I was there just to make sure my mom got Medicare and Medicaid. Also to fill out FMLA paperwork for my job. Three visits and the third visit they knew that was just there to fill out paperwork and theyre trying to get me to do a physical separately. They took my money and didnt even bother with the physical and now Im waiting for them to possibly fill out the paperwork. The lack of communication between doctors and the clerks is astonishing.i would never come back here again.If you see a positive review of this place its probably them stroking their ego.
Is I can give 0 stars I would. Very bad service. They pick and choose clients to call to remind them for appointment then they give you the wrong time for there appointment. When you tell them they never know why anything happens. There is no person responsible for anybodys action or what goes wrong. And they take forever to give you an appointment. Then they reschedule you for another week and a half. Its taking me almost a month to try to see a doctor.
I just want to talk about the amazing team of Doctor’s and more staff they are!!!I’m so grateful for take all my appointment’s during my pregnancy and delivery with them, they are so gentle and nice, always doing the best for your health.
About two weeks ago I had an appointment staff was friendly, a really positive environment. Doctors really concerned and doing their work, however I never got a call from my blood work and urine tests. Is there any way I can contact the staff there? I’m supposed to gain weight but I’m stressing in wanting to know the results.
I will miss camille when she leaves, i hope to find a provider just as good, but at least we still have Jennifer to to brighten our day.
This clinic is a joke. This clinic doesn’t respect peoples time. The secretaries are rude and unprofessional. I caught them countless of times being more interested in talking about their personal lives AND openly complain about their patients. They will literally schedule you an appointment in a month or even TWO months. I have been going to this clinic since I was young and I had my worst experiences recently. They are not professional at all. Originally I went to see a doctor for a physical and had questions about my medication I was taking. She couldn’t figure out what to tell me so she recommended me to see another doctor because he was more specialized. Then I was waiting for my blood work to be done. I waited 30 minutes and in the end, they rescheduled me. Then here comes my THIRD visit this this place in a month. I was seen by Dr. Lemuel Shaffer. HE WAS AWFUL. As a patient I expecteted someone who would listen to my personal complaints. I was my happy self once he came into the room. Once he started to talk, my mood changed completely. I didn’t like how distant he was. He kept me in the dark when I would ask a question about something I didn’t know of. Instead he gave me a smart remark, for example, “If you don’t know what it means then you never had it.”. He doesn’t listen, I felt like I was being judged of what I thought I wanted. On top of that, he came in with two observers without asking my permission like a decent doctor would. As the “doctor” expressed his opinion to my answers, one of the male observers were smiling and nodding his head in the process. Which makes sense because MEN don’t listen to a WOMENS needs. Makes sense even more why he was so condescending. He was trying to show off to them. In the end, I felt belittled. I literally left crying out of the doctors room. I was deeply distraught about this event. I’m so mad because I kept thinking about what happened that I SUFFERED a mental breakdown that same day. I couldn’t control my emotions to my loved one about what happened to me. I never felt so embarrassed. It was the worst day. I’m never coming back to this place ever again.** Update 01/12/19So I recently visited this location one last time to pick up my records because I’m so done with this location. Of course their “wonderful” secretaries don’t make me regret my decision of never stepping foot in this place. I came in to get my medical records because they couldn’t fax it over to my new clinic. They told me they couldn’t just print out a copy of my records anymore like they used to. Pure BS. Of course this facility likes to make things difficult. So I had to fill out a form and stood in line again. It was my turn in line so I stepped up and she rudely told me to go back in line until she was ready. In furry I left my paper work right in front of her and stood back in line. Once she was done doing whatever she was doing she tries to speak to me about my paper work. MIND YOU she didn’t even say she was ready for me and that I can step up to talk to her. So instead I stood my ground and spoke to her in the line where she told me to go back to, then she finally told me to step up. Haha.ANOTHER UPDATE regarding my original post from 2018. The secretary FAILED to let me know how high my deductible was using my insurance. My blood work was $1,250!!!!!!!! BE AWARE!!! I specially told her if I had to pay anything before I went in! She told me no! But then I corrected her saying I thought I had to pay a $35 copayment!! Then she was like, “Oh yeah! You have a copay.” You don’t know how badly I want to punch that girl in the F’ing face for screwing me over!!! Screw this place.
This center doesn’t even deserve 1 star. They took forever to even acknowledge that I was there. Some of the girls behind the desk were rude and I overheard them talk badly about a patient that had just left. Brenda was especially so rude and hostile. I refuse to go back until they replace her.
The medical care at this place is 5 minutes and horrible.The doctor will only spend 5 minutes and they never give your results on blood work up or test.Police and paramedics are frequently called to this medical location.They have no direct Tele phone number to the the doctors or staff.The telephone called is sent to another location and they never return your called.When a patient goes in they rarely follow up cleaning the rooms for the next one.
The benefit specialist, Susanna was great with answering all of benefits questions. 10/10!!
HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE COSTUMER SERVICE... I called to ask for providers information for my insurance purposes and also regarding a referral and the female that answered the phone answered with attitude and told me to call back with information that I already had provided on my last visit on March, and she hung up on me. I work in the medical field. I wouldn’t have hired someone like her with poor costumer service. She’s really unprofessional. I will never recommend anyone to go to access Hawthorne.

Front desk never answers… it’s been impossible to get my daughters physical they told me they will call when it’s ready it’s been 2 weeks and nothing .. I know it doesn’t take that long to print it out. Seems to me like Medical assistants not doing their jobs..
I had an appointment at at 10 hey call my wife roughly 10 minute they put her in the room, mind you they told me only one person allowed to go in the room with her, and we have two other kids is 1145 and she is still has not came out yet she is texting me telling me the doctor is rude and ignorant towards her. I will be having my wife switch clinics

The Staff is very friendly and punctual. Dr. Mahedra is a great pediatric answers all your questions and makes sure she does her best for your childs health.

Ever time I come Jennifer is so pleasant, she always has a smile on her face.
The staff decided to have a meeting during regular business hours. This is a bad management decision as they were away for 30 min while people were waiting in line to check in.You could also hear the meeting from the back ground and there was a lot of laughing. I dont see this as a professional establishment.
Dr. Mahidra and dr. Shauffer are two excellent doctors. They take the time to answer all questions and the children feel so comfortable with dr. Mahidra

The worst service from not knowing how to answer a simple phone call. I been going to this location for years on and off trying give them the benefit of the doubt. But it seems the people the are hiring are getting worse. They should just get rid of this specific location.

Very bad service, lady in the front will pick up the phone and help someone over the phone , as she is helping you, she just picked up the phone in the middle of the conversation without warning and started helping them, as i was talking to them.

I have been coming here for many years and I like the treatment of all the staff. They always do a very good job and are very kind to me and my children.
I thank our creator Jehovah God and our Lord Jesus Christ for having put Dr. Meena Hemlata in my path, whom I highly recommend for the attention (dedication and love to her vocation as a gynecologist) towards me as her patient before and after hysterectomy surgery performed 05/23/23. His great performance in the surgery was very good for me and above all the continued support in his check-ups after said surgery made him feel comfortable by clarifying all the doubts to our questions and his care not only as his patient but as a human being that I am. which would give it more 5 stars. Lately I receive my results late, when they call me to say that they sent some medication, I am already almost halfway through the medicationMy gynecologists assistantShes not helping much with some appointments theyve said shes going to help me make.He clarified that I tried to make the appointment and they told me that they should talk to the clinic to schedule my appointment 👎
I was here for the first time for a visit with Dr. Meghan on 07/08/19. I left very happy and during the visit I felt very comfortable. The doctors assistant, Erica, was very attentive and kind. “Hello, how are you?” See you later. Good morning” “thank you” and with a smile and good. Character explained everything to me very well and made sure that I understood everything very well about the mammogram program. She was also very interested in me returning for an annual checkup with one of the other doctors. Many thanks to Erica and Dr. Meghan. I will be back.
Dr. Mafla was excellent, but the receptionists and some nurses were terrible. I had the COV 19 test done, its been more than a week and Im still waiting for the results when they told me it would be 2 to 5 days when it was too late and its already over. more than the required time, yesterday I called them three times and apart from the long wait, they answered me and said that they called me back with an interpreter and they never called me, another day has passed and I have already called them twice more, I am still waiting for the results and the call, the truth is it is frustrating to be behind them like this, and even without knowing if I can return to my job or not, they are definitely a bad service and it is the second time that I have had problems there, they had already given me a bad diagnosis My son a couple of years ago was diagnosed with the flu and it got so bad that I went to an emergency hospital and it turned out that he had an appendix and an emergency surgery. They had him diagnosed with the flu and with antibiotics for the flu, its a disaster. the place and I am considering looking for other providers, I do not recommend it, it is a bad service in all aspects, and I stayed there because they changed the pediatrician staff for my son and I thought they would be better but that is not the case, and I DO NOT recommend it, I think There are better options and better service at other clinics.
Yesterday I went with my son (who is a patient here) because he had a fever for two days and when I arrived I explained to the secretary how my son was and she responded that they could not treat my son because they no longer had doctors available that I had to to make an appointment for when there were doctors available, I felt very bad because I went with an emergency since my son had had a fever for several days and he did not feel thirsty even though I was medicating him, so I immediately went to a hospital to A doctor will review it.
Reception staff at the clinic are very rude by telephone, they do not allow an explanation from the patient to notify the doctor, they decide without coherence by throwing away the phone and in this way they cut off the phone call, an action that perhaps the Doctors are not aware of these constant occurrences
The doctors are fine but the receptionists dont take long to answer the phone, sometimes it takes me 45 minutes for them to answer my call.
They are very friendly and have good service. The doctors are very friendly and always answer my questions.
