We were referred here by tricare. we couldn’t even schedule an appointment.we waited on multiple phones, at different days of the week, for over an hour each time and eventually just hung up. we tried calling other lines within the hospital system and they just kept sending us to the same number that wouldn’t answer their phones.idk if their phone system is down or they just don’t care but clearly they don’t care about expectant mothers or getting them scheduled to be cared for.
My experience with Beaufort OB/GYN has always been very pleasant. Waits for appt. start times are generally very brief with exceptions of dire circumstances (tends to happen from time to time in childbirth), in which case they promptly give you an option of waiting or returning. Through a C-section pregnancy and years of care, Ive never been let down. I routinely see Dr. Masavage. Her bedside manner makes those dreaded, uncomfortable visits become a much more laid-back occurrence and her knowledge in her field is exceptional. She always answers all of my questions and calms any of my concerns, even when my terminology makes zero sense. I can comfortably discuss anything without judgement or feeling dumb and we as women need that when taking care of our bodies and our babies. I consistently send patients here all the time due to my own great personal experience.Definitely rank 10 out of 10!!! 👍👍
A cowardly and untrained front desk was wholly unprepared for our appointment which they had scheduled. The fault of not scheduling an ultrasound did not lie on my or my wife’s shoulders, and yet the staff did everything in their power to place that blame on us. I would recommend making an appointment here only if you desire to have your time entirely wasted.
Beginning of my pregnancy I transferred here from another facility due to the quality of care being nonexistent , my first few appointments were with different doctors until I met with Dr. bersani. After having a very rough delivery & recovery with my first child I was very worried with delivering a second. Dr. bersani truly heard my concerns and cared! Never once did I feel like I was just another patient. She went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable in any plans we made and took the time to answer any questions I had. She went out of her way to make sure I was able to deliver with her. I had an amazing delivery, she was patient and took additional measurements to make sure I didn’t have another bad labor. I highly highly recommend her, you will not be disappointed! I will forever be thankful for her and so glad I found her ❤️
I do not recommend that anyone go here, especially someone who has a bad history with pregnancy. I told them that I had two previous miscarriages and no one was concerned about the current pregnancy. Everything was normal until the 13 week mark I’ll called the office once at 14 weeks and again at 15 weeks and begged to be seen by my doctor because I just knew that something was wrong. I told them that I had lost my mucous plug and I didn’t feel sick anymore and I had extreme back pain; at my 16 week appointment I was told that there was no heartbeat, and the baby measured to be 13 weeks. I was treated differently because of mine and my husband’s age we felt like we were talked down to at each appointment that we had not to mention the carelessness of the staff not listening to a concerned patient. After my miscarriage, I was promised a multiple pregnancy loss work up and never got it. The doctor made the comment ”At least you know you can get pregnant“ after I had passed the baby in the hospital. At my check up after my miscarriage, I had concerns and wanted an ultrasound and I was only offered antidepressants and asked to leave. The doctor pushed his beliefs onto me and my husband on how long we should wait to have another child instead of trying to help us have another child. The staff is not sympathetic and just wants to see as many people as possible in one day. Do not go here.
As someone who moved from Atlanta where there are literally hundreds of providers to choose from, Bluffton was a change of pace for me. I find that there are rarely good reviews of doctor offices so when I go to one and enjoy it, I try to leave a review.Every nurse I have ever had has been thorough, welcoming, and has amazing bedside manner. We have only been with one ultrasound tech so far and at the first appointment we were disappointed. There was zero conversation or bedside manner. I had to ask simple questions like “is that the baby’s head?” When we had her for our second scan she opened up more and had more bedside manner which was a change of pace and very enjoyable!Overall I think this practice is great from what we have seen so far. You’re always going to find a nurse or a doctor at a practice that you may not jive with and honestly that’s pretty average!I never wait long in the lobby and the front desk staff is always very sweet. 💗💙
I love BMH OBGYN! They are amazing! I have been going here now for YEARS! The staff is great and easy to deal with. My main provider Dr. MaSavage is awesome and has delivered ALL 6 of my children. All healthy and myself! I dont know what everyone else has been hearing about this place but I ALWAYS stick with one certain provider and shes been the best all around and my ultimate favorite! Never got the run around, always gave the best advice for any and everything that I have ever needed or wanted. Even with any complications that I have had in my previous pregnancy. All the way down to medications that I needed this office hasnt skipped a beat. I know yall love when I come in! Lol.
So disappointed in the office not calling me back to say they couldnt call in medication or that they didnt have any openings to be seen.
Living in Beaufort, I have heard many negative things and have gotten a ton of negative feedback for using BMH as my OBGYN. I just had my first baby- and I must say I have NOTHING but good things to say about BMH OBGYN department. I could not have been happier with the care I received while pregnant, during & after delivery. The doctors, nurses, & all of the other medical staff (including receptionists & every other staff member I encountered) was absolutely amazing during my high risk pregnancy. If you are having any doubts about using BMH as your OBGYN I urge you to think again. They are wonderful and caring and provide not only excellent medicinal treatment, but wonderful bed side manner as well. Thank you to all the staff at the OBGYN office and the labor and delivery center for a great experience. I could not have better things to say about the care that my daughter and I received while there.I must add that while there- all of the doctors were amazing but I LOVED Dr. Bersani & Dr. Masavge, they took especially great care of me.
I have had both of my babies here at Beaufort and have had the best experience the second time around having Dr. Tiffany Bersani at my main provider. She always is welcoming and has a great attitude. Especially because I am young the first time I felt like I was being talked instead of talked to and listened to with my concerns with a few of the other doctors I saw the first time. But sticking with her and only her with my second baby it was an amazing experience and truly an sad that I had my last visit with her today.
Changing my review from 3 to 5 stars after my visit with Peyton Erb! My first visit was with another provider and it was not a great experience. However, I decided to give it another shot with a different provider and Peyton was kind, patient, thorough, and seemed genuinely interested in getting to the root of the problem.
Suzanne Wolf was my provider. She retired. The doctor they put me with for my next appointment has now REFUSED me medical care. Told me to go to urgent care for a yeast infection that I received from taking antibiotics. If they really did their job properly they would look at my chart history and see that Suzanne ALWAYS gave me 2 doses of medication at the same time as it relates to my history. I was hesitant to see someone I didn’t know. Now I realize I was right they don’t do their job’s throughly as apparently no one bothered to read my records. And also as it turns out they gave medical information about me to my son yesterday because he answered my phone. He’s a minor. And that was a breach of privacy
This place is one hot disaster and has been for over 6 years. I left once, came back briefly, and quickly left again. The schedulers are just rude and lack a single ounce of empathy or care. The hospital was never ever able to get my insurance copay correct and demanded I pay money to be seen (which I later had to fight just as terrible finance people to get my money back). Good luck getting a call when the doctor calls out sick in a timely manner so you can stay at work. Just expect to come and show up to be told this and then wait months to reschedule. You can never ever get appointments in a timely fashion. And the doctors look and seem way overworked and overwhelmed. I had a good experience with Dr. Thompson but I waited and waited every time to get seen.I tried numerous times to go to leadership and the patient advocate and was met with the same rude response of the front desk staff. I am now a patient at Memorial Health Women’s Care in the Okatie clinic and they put this facility to shame through and through. Never again Beaufort Memorial.
Do not recommend this place for pregnancy with multiples or complications might be ok for uncomplicated pregnancy. Horrible standard of care. Make the drive to MUSC if you are high risk you won’t be disappointed.UPDATE so called “advocates” don’t return calls. Not surprised.
All the providers I saw were great. I loved my main provider, Dr. Tiffany Bersani, shes very kind and informative. She reassured me throughout my pregnancy. I am forever grateful for her ❤️
I had my first baby here I had a great experience, in the office in Bluffton and the one in Beaufort, the Doctors are Amazing and nurses.. I called to set an appointment for my second pregnancy, I think they probably have someone new working in the front desk or answering the phone and is she is very rude, she sounds young but I don’t think that is a reason to be rude..I called today and she answered the phone and sounded like she doesn’t like her job. But other than that the rest of the staff is very awesome.
One provider was the reason I will not longer be going here. Instead of being helpful and talking with me about certain options or respecting my decisions, when I stated my stance on a certain test the Nurse Midwife told me I needed to “rethink my options” because that’s what “mothers do” and if I don’t want to “take care of my baby like a good mother” I should keep my decision. She then proceeded to slam the door as she walked out of my appointment.
I waited over a month for appointment, traveled more than an hour and a half, and when arrived was told I needed to reschedule because my primary insurance is medicare. Apparently, initial appointments (and this was just for a pap smear) need to be with a physician and mine was inadvertently scheduled with a physician assistant. In speaking with a Medicare representative afterwards, they assured me that this was not a Medicare rule. The office practices seem very unprofessional, with a lack of respect for anyone elses time!
Well, the last times I went to this office—more than 10 years ago, I was consistently bumped from gynecology appointments because the doctor(s) had emergencies at the hospital. Or, I had to wait two hours because someone came in for an unexpected OB appointment. The last time I went, the doctor belittled me because he felt my issue wasn’t important, after all, and he had other patients who needed to see him more. And yes, he actually said that. (I was having unusual symptoms). In the interim years, I went to wonderful gyno-only practice, and had no problems. That branch of the practice is apparently gone. Today, I took two hours off work to go the appointment, and, not surprisingly, my doctor had to go to an emergency at the hospital. But they didn’t even bother to call me soon enough to allow me to stay away. They said I could wait two hours, or reschedule.Honestly? I understand triage. And I understand emergencies. This is neither; it’s an ongoing scheduling and management issue. They do not respect their gynecological patients as much as their OB patients. And it shows. They need to remember that customer service applies equally, and build their business model around that. When I asked the scheduling clerk if there was another doctor who could see me, she didn’t respond. When I prompted her again, she said in an exasperated voice that it was what she was doing. Looking for another appointment. I informed her that she hadn’t responded and I couldn’t read her mind. I didn’t bother to point out that I meant another doctor should work me in.She scheduled me for the 2nd. And, once again, I’ll have to take off work. Another issue is that my deductible for 2019 is fulfilled, and that is the new year. Not sure if it will make a difference, as it is routine. Maybe it won’t.But regardless, I think I’ll just not show up. I doubt they will notice.
I have never felt less respected in my life. You are treated like a number and not a patient. I address every concern I’ve had throughout my pregnancy and have gotten no answers. There are three doctors who have actually been helpful during my pregnancy. It took my going into labor and delivery for test to be done and made sure everything was okay. They do not care at the office. I’m almost 36 weeks pregnant and I’m counting down until the days I don’t have to go back. I wouldn’t recommend them to any of my friends moving this way.
Dr. Masavage was so amazing , I’ve been visiting Beaufort Obgyn for a while now . I’m high-risk and it’s clearly very stressful coming to these appointments. She actually sat down with me and not only listened , but did everything to ensure I got everything I needed , even the “just in case” precautions . Best visit so far , because of her !
Always have a great experience with everyone who works there! One of the ladies at the front desk went above and beyond for me recently. I had to take a 3 hr blood glucose test and was feeling extremely nauseous; the woman doing my blood work told me to walk over and ask if I could take tums or water. Well I went over to ask except everyone had gone to lunch, so the woman literally called several people on my behalf to get me and answer and brought me ice chips! I was blown away, great service!
I will forever be grateful they helped us conceive. However, I couldnt even finish seeing them for my pregnancy. They are so disorganized, no one seems to be in charge and whenever I asked a question I couldnt get a straight answer. When you call theres no way to leave a message and you can be on hold forever or no one is there and the line disconnects. They could save themselves a lot of time by using their online portal but for some reason dont. Every single time I got a prescription Id have to call the office and remind them they needed to send it to the pharmacy. The lab lost my bloodwork and when I asked about it the nurse tried to blame me saying I didnt stay long enough for the test? Ive since learned that the lab losing your bloodwork is not all that uncommon. Karen at the front desk is a doll and always helpful, kind and professional She is the one shining spot for this practice
My very first prenatal appointment was enjoyable, other than the ultrasound, as the LPN who spoke to my husband and I made me feel like BMH would be a good place to labor at. Although my last ultrasound was much better, it is disconcerting when your are a FTM and the tech looks at the screen in concentration (but to me concern of course) but does not talk at all or very little during the ultrasound to help us understand what they are looking for, what we are seeing, etc. Two of the three pictures they printed in my first ultrasound were very blurry- not sure why as our little one was pretty still often enough. Unfortunately, after the visit all of my other visits had me seeing a different person each time who pretty much asked me generic questions and sent me on my way. I was advised very little on nutrition, and I was never asked how I was doing other than physically. What I was most upset with was the first time I asked for a blood test, the order was put in and my blood was drawn but in my next visit the results were not in. When I followed up with the next visit, I was told that the test was never run as that was not an option through BMH. Infuriated, I had to go to LabCorp directly for the requested test. I had to inquire about things like is my weight on schedule? otherwise it was never brought up. once when I asked again at the end of my appointment, as it had not yet been addressed, the nurse had forgotten to write down my weight and I had to tell her what it had read during the visit. When I would request a print out of my documents from the previous appointment, I had to review my notes to make sure that everything that pertained to the visit was actually printed, as the majority of the time everything that pertained to the visit was in fact not printed until I asked something like shouldnt I have something that shows I am actually pregnant? (First time requesting documentation I was only provided information regarding my vitals...really?) I was advised to leave a message for the manager, which I did, but never heard back from her. I am transferring my care to Charleston with hopes of more one on one care.
Dr Benson and Helen went above and beyond for me and my family. We will forever consider them friends! The L&D and postpartum staff Kyrrah, Brooke and lucky are all phenomenal and treated us so kindly. They were all knowledgeable, informative, caring and patient. Thank you everyone! Mr. Baxley your staff members deserve a reward for their over and beyond exceptional work. They truly care about the patient and treat them as family. Thank you again!
Dr. Thompson is absolutely fantastic. She gave me all the information I needed so I barely needed to ask anything and listened to all my questions. She and her team had great communication and she personally made sure I was scheduled efficiently at my preferred office location. I was so impressed with her!
Dr. Benson and his staff have been nothing short of exceptional. He listened to my concerns even though they seemed out there and did what I needed him to do, supporting my needs the entire time. He did a laparoscopic procedure to remove surgical clips which were causing me a lot of pain. After the procedure he was courteous and made sure I was ok. I would recommend him and his staff. A plus!
The doctor I had she was great! And front end friendly but very very terrible they have a disorder I am self pay when I am there ready to make my bill on the same day they tell me a price then send me another bill????? Hello that is why I pay on the day to be out and over. Also never was informed I was going to get another bill from labcorp they should inform you all this stuff. Never again will I go here again. They need to do better at charging people truthfully upfront.
Staff and professional personnel are always friendly and helpful. The doctors really listen to you and any questions you may have as does the nurses. The front office staff are so nice and helpful with appointments and such. I would highly recommend them.
I had my first baby here, and will have my second child in a few months here as well. It’s a great hospital, with great supportive staff. I had to go through birth with just my husband and the staff, and if it wasn’t for the supportive staff, I never would have gotten through any of it!
Dr. Miller is the best OB ever, all the docs and midwives are kind and knowledgeable. Nurses are also great! Highly recommend this practice.
Nurses are miserable and they treat you like a number instead of a real person!! If you call them they take there sweet time or they just dont call you at all. Honestly think that they are overwhelmed
This place is horrible. I drove 2 1/2 hours to come here just to be told I would need to reschedule my appointment due to being 10 minutes late. I called them before hand to let them know I was running late. The front desk receptionist was rude and had no personality. I will not be returning.
Dr. Thompson is a great doctor and takes her time with me. She also explains everything. Thanks Teresa
Horrible experience, Scheduling receptionist was rude and not helpful!
Ive been waiting in the waiting room for over an hour. I think they forgot about me.
Worst hospital Ive ever been to! If I could give 0 stars I would.
Dr. Miller is the best. Everyone else is great too :)
Receptionists are rude.
