Dr Doug Lamb is SUPER nice and takes his time with his patient. He listens and talks to they to understand what the root problem truly is. Has a great since of humor. And he knows how to make his patient feel that they are important.Thank you so much for your care this past 1 1/2 years.

Open Water Medical in Beaufort offers unrushed, ongoing medical care that treats the whole patient. They truly strive to learn about each patient’s medical needs, and they know what to guard against long-term for anyone with chronic challenges like type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. My recent visit with Doug Lamb in the Beaufort office found him to be thorough, straightforward and always kind and pleasant. He pays close attention to my lab results, and flagged some areas I may have overlooked that had changed since I last had labs taken. I truly feel he is looking out for patients’ best interests and long term health. Great doctor and good man.

Complete physical. Everyone was very helpful. Services were done quickly & efficiently. Checked all immunizations were up to date and any tests needed scheduled. Doug answered all my questions and addressed my concerns

Today I had my initial visit with Jennifer Ruffner, FNP. I was looking for a new physician, due to my previous doctor retiring from his practice. I have to tell you, I was not disappointed with this office or Jennifer Ruffner, FNP. They were very thorough when doing my paperwork and getting my insurance information from me. Jennifer Ruffner, FNP listened to my concerns and went over my previous medical history. I also had a severe case of bronchitis when visiting today. It was diagnosed, medication was prescribed along with a follow up appointment in a month. The office was not overflowing with other patients, they were all there for their appointments, just like me. Just the kind of place I was wanting to take care of my needs now and in the future. Extremely pleased with my initial visit. First class all the way.

They know your name and your health patterns... when you call in,,, when you walk in their door. Incredibly responsive and caring. Doug exemplifies their moto: We are each a person, not a number!

Ill be happy to share my experience with Open water facility, when I first got there the ladies at the desk were super kind courteous polite and patient with me, the doctor was very concerned about all my issues and I think God for putting such great caring people in my life today, they all deserve gold stars and kudos balloons with confetti $100 gift card and $100 gas card and do not forget the cupcakes

I always get a good explanation of what is or could be going on with my body when things feel “off”. And I always get in quickly. I wish every clinic and hospital were like going to Open Water Medical.

Everybody here is so friendly and helpful. They care about their patients and listen to you, most places do not.

A great little clinic, I was able to be seen promptly as a new patient and will be returning to Open Water as my primary care provider.

Dr.Calvin Parker is an awesome primary care physician at Open Water Medical in Goldsboro. He is very attentive to you as the patient. He not only listens as you speak he Hears you! He never rushes your visit, he’s always listening and asking about your health and life. He has gone the extra step when I have a concern or question concerning my health.Lastly, he is one of only a few primary care physicians who knows about my rare medical condition and helps to manage my care. Therefore I only have to see my specialist every other year.I’m pleased that this office found Dr. Calvin Parker to take over the location.So if you’re looking for a primary care physician who is very knowledgeable, kind, caring and a great listener then you need to become a patient here.The overall staff here are awesome from the front desk greeting you with a smile and warm welcome to the nurse who takes your vitals with kindness and respect.I’ve been a patient at Open Water Medical for over 6 years now and He is by far the best physician I have seen!

This is a review of the Open Water Medical Newport office.Recently the staff had a major change. The PA that ran it had to suddenly leave for family obligations. Michael I appreciate every thing you did for me and I wish you good luck.My new PA Christy Jones is a very nice lady. She is professional and she knows her business. I have total confidence in her. She was one of the most thorough medical persons I have ever met. Anyone would be lucky to have this staff at this offices care.

I had my first visit with Dr Kerry Willis. He is a very kind and compassionate doctor. He was very thorough and made sure I understood my care and medical needs. Everyone in the office is very helpful. I felt totally comfortable and that I was in good care.

Dr. Parker was awesome. I was so impressed that he had taken the time to be up to date on my medical history. Dr. Parker was very concerned about my health and listen very carefully and patiently to my concerns and addressed each issue with care. After meeting him for the first time in April of this year I was elated with the outcome of my appointment and him being a new Doctor to me. I told Doctor Parker I wanted him to be there for my next appointment which was today and he was just like he told me. I really felt at ease conversing with him about my health and may we continue to establish a good patient and Doctor relationship. Kudos and accolades of praise to him.

The front office team keeps things simple and the PA, Doug, personalizes the visit with a keen ability to listen closely to concerns and formalize a plan to assist patient needs. I HATE going to the doctor. Ive put this off for ever. Now I feel silly. Everyone was great. The Dr was fantastic! Hes my guy now - wont put off going back. Even having blood drawn (my ultimate fear - needles) was a breeze. I wish I had found this place years ago.

Dr.Cartledge is a very professional caring and friendly person who listens to what you have to say and explains your conditions to you. He has a great staff to help run his office. Those women are the greatest. They have been so helpful they go above and beyond to help you when you need it.They are all really wonderful people.

I had a very pleasant visit with the doctor and staff.

We live aboard boat full time n are Transientw no vehicle so very tough to even get into doctor office for a visit.In Beaufort for ~ 2 months for winter so went for medical exam to extend BP prescription. Did blood test n charged me $100 plus charges to Medicare but provided ONLY 1 refill. Phoned office 4X over 2 week period to try to get additional refills but did not get one single call back n, on 4th call, they finally said doc refused any more refills.====If owner doc Willis took time to respond to patient complaints instead of spending all his time counting HUGE profits made off Seniors by delivering minimal service for MAX fees at his FIVE offices then his staff would not have to deal w frustrated customers!!!!!

I think your service sucks and all my years having primary doctors you guys are the worst every time I get an appointment I gotta wait 2 to 3 hours to get out of there and make an appointment for 8 o’clock in the morning that get there at 8:30 8:45 and then he said an hour and a half. It’s always like that I have never seen such you Worse system like you guys have doctors should be there before I get there. I’ll get the same time I’m he’s on my time I’m not on his time every single time I go. There is always a problem.

Concerning Russell Steger:Open Water Medical Morehead City:Receptionist was professional and friendly as well. The PA was unusual in her bedside manners. She spoke of life as walking on a tight rope that gets shorter each time you fall off. She left me depressed and confused.I came in for a follow-up on my DVT and not once did she address that. Instead she inquired about getting my colonoscopy. She didnt even view my, still swollen leg. We opted to use the Morehead office due to distance and are extremely disappointed in the visit. I just hope the other PAs are more caring and professional.

Dr. Michael is always professional and courteous. He shares his knowledge so that I am well informed by the time my visit is over. I feel like a person not a number. The front desk staff is great as well!

Been knowing Dr. Willis for 17years. Hes been my primary care physician and always treated me like family. I will always support him and his staff. He has been a great friend and has tended to all my families medical needs. Hope he is around for 50 more years! His staff is always very helpful to.

Absolute best experience with a Primary Care Physician I’ve ever had. Went in with a lot of anxiety about some new conditions I’m dealing with and not having the answers I needed from my previous doctor. One of the nurses came in and made sure I understood how to administer my medication and even let me know she is dealing with the same thing. The Dr (Paul, absolutely love that he introduced himself by his first name) came in and calmed my anxiety and fears about the new medication and just overall made me feel heard and cared for, definitely appreciative of his conversation with me. I absolutely recommend this office.

Doug Lamb of Open Water, although he spent time listening to my health issues, he is arrogant and condescending. He was just simply unable, or unwilling ?!?, to give any alternative advice on what to do when the side effects from the medication prescribed are causing more harm than good.Overall, the practice of constantly being interrupted by various emergencies concerning other patients during my consultation is disturbing and gives the impression that they have a covert understanding to help the medical personnel reduce the time spent with one patient.Gabriela

Needed to have my 11 year old seen spur of the moment for pink eye. They kindly got us right in and in less than 15-20 minutes we were out the door. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful!

I arrived 20 minutes early for my appointment. The nurse took me in and performed the normal health care checkups. with in just a few minutes doctor Jack Orton came in to discuss my health problem (swollen right eye) and he determined it to be an infection caused by a small bump in my eye. He prescribe treatment and then he talked with me about my overall health. He took time with me to ensure all my issues were covered.

Had a severe emergency with BP, and my sugar levels. Was treated with dignity and respect. Doctor treated me immediately and kindly. Found my clinical home here ❤️ Encouraging me to seriously take care of myself & couldn’t be more great full. Ladies at reception were very friendly and accommodating. Overall experience was wonderful.

Having Dr.Jack has been a pleasure. He stays on top of things and makes sure he gets everyone on the same page. I’ve known him in this field for 25 yrs. He’s honest and don’t play twinkle toes. He’s straight forward. His right hand Linda is also fantastic. She makes sure she’s up to date on everything! Praying he does not retire no more sooner.

I would have given 0 stars if possible. They never answer the phone. Or call back. Always a different PA. It is a joke!No I am not a patient...My husband is. You have a lack of communication with your patients. You have a PA out and no message or notification so your patients know this. We actually drove to the office to see if there was any info. Posted on the door. While we were there an other patient showed up and had the exact same complaint.

Dr Krause is very knowledgeable and caring. He ask you a lot of questions and he listens and he makes sure you’re up to date on your medical care and your medication. I’ve been going to him for 21 year.😊

I went to the Morehead City NC office and the customer service is great. When you walk in you are immediately greeted by the receptionist,which I love because I am all about great customer service. My Doctor is the best ever so she can’t go anywhere. The nurses are great as well. I would definitely recommend anyone to this office.

Pleasant, helpful, caring staff. Saw Dr. Krause in the fall of 2022. He took his time and listened to my problem. He sent in the appropriate scripts to the pharmacy and encouraged me to notify him if the meds didnt work or if I had any further problems. (As a side note, Dr. Krause was my elderly mother-in-laws physician for years before her passing and was very thorough, kind, and compassionate with her.)I also saw him today for a different problem, and since it was not emergent, I was given an appt two days later, which I thought was great. Once again, he and his staff were pleasant, listened to my problem, asked appropriate questions, and he sent me for an xray. Have a follow-up appt to review the findings in a couple of days.

Very unprofessional that DR. Michael Lamb because I was told I could’ve had a possible TIA the words out his mouth when I went in with concerns … I went straight to the ER to ease that type of assumptions that he made to me that day …I came in for a follow up with findings because after being told something like that why should I wait to get an appt for a MRI whenever it could’ve been available ..and I was told because I went to the ER after he saw me, he could not see me anymore as my PA … now that was truly the most disgusting thing I have ever heard come out of any healthcare professional mouth to take it to that extreme because I was scared of something you said to me about my health …truly unfit to be a PA their or anywhere and to feel he has the right to treat anyone with that type of disrespect

By far the worst medical care Ive ever received. The phones stay busy/off on Mondays and mornings. So if you have an emergency, go to the ER. The medical care - I had to advocate for time and again. Im glad I knew about my prior treatments and conditions. Many referral requests have not been sent or sent with errors - or not responded to at all, all of which are met with excuses for staff errors other than hers. I have also been prescribed a controlled substance for anxiety, which I certainly did not need. I am seeking another primary, which appointment cannot open soon enough.

The staff and NP at Open Water of Goldsboro are excellent and caring. They get you in quickly when needed to be seen and provide comprehensive care while listening to their patients. I am beyond grateful I found them.

Dr. Willis is one of the best physicians I have ever encountered. I find that he is patient, kind, and very knowledgeable. His office staff is up to date on all new regulations and is very profession and personable. If you need a good doctor, then you need to try his practice.

Changing Doctors after move from Raleigh, I lucked out and got Theresa Franey as my PA. She listened and was very concerned about my condition with immediate treatment programs. I feel I am in very good hands after my initial visit!

This is a review for an initial visit. I arrived 15 minutes early for my appointment, the front desk was well prepared had my VA Triwest paperwork setting right next to her when I introduced myself she had everything she/I needed to begin the new patient process in a very courteous professional manner. First impression was I really liked the visit. While I was completing the paper work she came to waiting area and asked if I had completed the 1st 2 pages she would take them and begin to get my digital file started. I appreciate she came to me not just open a window call my name and ask how far I had gotten. To be fair from that point there was a delay to the next step in being called back to the treatment room. However after the wait EMS arrived and there was a patient being transported to the hospital. I fully understood the delay. Shortly there after I was called back to treatment room. The nurse Sarah introduced herself to me and was professionally friendly. The standard questions were asked and answered and she took the chart and said the Doctor would be in soon. A brief wait and in came the doctor introduces himself. He spent a few minutes discussing my military history places of deployment etc. and what i had been doing since leaving the military. I think to get an understanding of who I was. Then he went straight to work discussed in detail the multiple conditions I have and made appropriate referrals and completed the examination. He then escorted me to the area where blood is drawn Sarah came in drew the blood (never even felt the needle pierce the skin). A return appointment was then scheduled and I was on my way. Now the reason for such details for this post is I was originally troubled by several reviews I had read prior to the visit. Anyone using the VA in there past understands there is some wait. The visit I experienced while there was delay was well worth it. I look forward to developing a doctor client relationship here.

The wait was about35 minutes to be called by the RN. After she left the exam room, it was another 20 min of waiting. My first time meeting Tammi. Very nice, hit what was on my papers and left. Still getting to know her

Dr Willis has been my physician for almost 30 years. During this time, I have found him to be professional and extremely knowledgeable. His staff is courteous and prompt. I highly recommend him to all.

The one star rating is for Bobbi at Front Desk. She needs training on customer service and professionalism. Not only was she rude to me today she bit the head off another employee right in front of me while I was paying for my visit. Her horrible attitude rudeness, and lack of professionalism has been observed multiple times now.As for medical care from rest of staff has been wonderful! Especially Jack Orton PA, and Nurse Linda. These two are Top Notch!

Christine Stallings is extremely personable and knowledgeable. I have been seeing her for several years and it has been a good experience. Everyone in the office is friendly and professional. Highly recommend this practice.

Love this place for my healthcare needs! Staff is always friendly, office is always clean, it’s easy to get an appointment and my physician (Christine) always listens to me and quickly takes care of any/all of my medical needs. It’s definitely worth the drive!

I arrived at my appt time, my son called the number on door since we couldn’t go inside.. we were at morehead city location. The phone number on door was the Newport office. Once we got that straight, they called my phone and asked what I what them to do.. ugh ( well I’m sick and at the doctors) I thought it was obvious, so after paying $75 ( still sitting in my car) the medical provider came out to my car to listen to my lungs… she asked if I was a smoker, when I answered no she said it sounds fine… ugh she handed me a list of medications I can get at CVSBecause I didn’t ask for flu or covid test they can’t help meThey do know people get sick with other illnesses than flu and covid..Not a great experience.. really thinking I need to change providers

I called after noticing some swelling around my neck after receiving my second COVID-19 vaccination. They gave me an appointment the same day and have been seeing me with follow up appointments to monitor by progress . I’m comfortable with the staff of the Goldsboro office.

I’ve been a patient for going on 3 years and have never had one issue with either the Doctor or the office staff. All of them take the time to actually listen to what the patient is saying which in my opinion is very rare.

Love this place I go to the one in Morehead. But they have one in Beaufort. Dr Terri is the best she is always making sure I am ok. The staff is always there to treat you right. Even the girls in the Lab.

Dissatisfied with staffing - very disconnected. When you enter the office youre generally pointed in the direction of the sign in tablets with little to no dialogue. Ive visited before when they didnt even bother to open the receptionist window.Additionally, I had an emergency that required a trip to the ER on a Sunday to get stitches on a head wound. I called my regular doctors office, Open Water @ Beaufort, and explained that I needed to have them removed. They put me on hold multiple times, finally came back on the phone, and told me they did not have time to see me that following Friday and I would have to call their office in Morehead. Upon calling the Morehead office, I was put on hold, and to my surprise they came back on the phone and told me to be at the Beaufort office on the requested Friday. It was very obvious the Beaufort office didnt want to have to interrupt their schedules to assist. By the way, I am and have been a patient at this office and the stitch removal required 5 mins of their time. When I entered their office on that Friday, the receptionist had a scowl on her face and abruptly pointed me to the tablet for sign in.Granted not all staff behaved in such a disrespectful manner, but its been enough to leave a bad taste in my mouth and my experiences always leave me wanting more. Im not speaking to the caliber of the Doctors either - simply the environment they work in.Last rant of the post - Ive had the greatest time getting my ONE prescription called in. I continuously call to confirm I dont need an appointment for refills, Im told no and that they will call in the refill, only to arrive at CVS to no prescription. Its a 45 minute drive to get to the pharmacy, so its not exactly as easy as go home and wait for them to decide to call it in. I called last week, explained that my bottle showed 0 refills left, they confirmed I would not need to come in for a check-up and that the prescription would be refilled. I gave a week before attempting to pick the prescription up. Much to my dissatisfaction I arrive at CVS only to find that once again, my Doctors office has failed to submit my medication for a refill.Needless to say, enough chances have been given.

Was concerned after my GP retired and turned this practice over to Open Water Medical, but I’ve had no issues with them and decided to stay. Glad I did!

Dr. Willis and his staff have helped the Loaves & Fishes Recovery program for years. He does devotions with the guys every week and takes care of their medical needs as well. The practice has helped hundreds of men who didnt have insurance break the bondage of addiction. We at Loaves & Fishes cannot thank Dr. Willis and his staff enough for all they have done for us!!!!!

I Have been going to Openwater for about 5 years.I have ADHD but one of main health concerns was my shoulders and Dianne was my NP and was very nourishing in establishing me a Provider home ad well as getting me started on my Cervical shenanigans hell.She retired 2 years ago and NP Nicole inherited me and she 2 was very hands on in and never undermined my pain and actually after continuous flairs notice how hard my neck would be and referred me to a Rheumatologists where much to our dismay I test positive for a rare auto immune Crest Syndrome other wise known as Limited Scleroderma.Nicole ended up taking a position at local Health Clinic and As much as I love and Appreciate her and Dianne I got blessed to get New to town NP Terri Turner.......which is whos knowledge, bedside manner ,and ability to explain a disease that is so complex that even the Doctors who research and specializes in have a hard time connecting dots.She takes every concern into consideration and will explore the trial and erra with you and really makes her patients feel like they have someone on their team that Id always ready to help guide you through the dark.

The doctor that had seen me, in no way was he helpful at all, not only did he ignore me but he prescribed a medication to me for an ailment I dont even have which if I were to take this medicine Im positive that it would not help matters but only make them worse, Im very dissatisfied and very disappointed in the service here I would not recommend this place at all due to the complete negligence the doctors have for their patients,The doctor that had seen me was doc, Michael cartledge

Made appointment went in 10 mins early still did not see doctor after 1 hr and no explanation from staff most were heading out the door for lunch -left made another appointment waited 45 mins no doctor staff came out and said he was running hr late thats it for me not very friendly and apparently dont care about other peoples time dont go there make another appt in moreheador new bern
