Shady Grove Fertility in Woodbridge, VA

We had a wonderful experience at the Woodbridge office. Dr. Hsu was always kind, patient, and knowledgeable. Everyone in the office was friendly and helpful. From scheduling to ultrasounds to the blood draws, everything was timely and as comfortable and fast as it could be made.We went to a different organization prior to Shady Grove which had very poor patient communication and financial counselors. Our financial counselor Ashley ensured that we understood our benefits and what we would have to cover every step of the way. I cant speak highly enough of the kind people at this office who helped us on our pregnancy journey.

This staff is incredible! The Medical Assistant is a DOLL! She’s so sweet and gentle. My nurse, Adriane was always so patient and prompt with her responses. The ladies up front began to recognize my voice when I called in. We love this office. Our baby boy will be here at the end of 2024.

I recommend Shady Grove Woodbridge location to anyone that is going through there IVF cycle. The staff was amazing 👏 always greeted me with a smile and answered my ongoing question most of them repeated questions 😀 with understanding my concerns and my stress going through the process. The BEST STAFF and DOCTOR at this facility. Couldnt have asked for anything else. Thank you each and everyone for being supportive and making me feel comfortable eveytime I was there with a smile or with a tear 😢 you guys are wonderful

We had a good experience at Shady Grove. Dr. Hsu was always friendly and never rushed us if we had questions. Our nurse Ashley was always prompt to communicate with us. When we had a billing issue it was fixed pretty quickly over the phone with the billing department. We did have to go to the Fairfax office twice because of the specific date falling on a weekend, but we had a really good experience overall.

Long story short: my spouse and I walk in with zero babies in 2022, and will end up leaving with two by the end of 2024!Dr. Hsu and staff are AMAZING. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, and everyone is very attentive! I highly recommend!

Of all the SGF offices I’ve visited in the DMV area, Woodbridge is by far my favorite. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with friendly faces at reception (who somehow remember everyone’s faces/names). And the kindness/friendliness continues on through bloodwork, ultrasounds, questions, and the entire medical staff. The Woodbridge staff is incredible and truly make you feel comfortable and safe throughout your journey. I’d even go as far to say I look forward to my appointments just to see everyone. 🙈 I definitely recommend this clinic to anyone who values kindness and empathy in a medical team.

Without Shady Grove Fertility & Dr. Hsu in Woodbridge, I would never have been able to experience the joy of being pregnant! We are at week 16 and going strong and it is a gift and a blessing that we had the resources available to us :-) Thank you so much to Dr. Hsu and her amazing team! They were so attentive and friendly; answering my 500 questions LOL We are so beyond grateful!

Take your business elsewhere.This would have been a NO STAR rating but unfortunately you cannot leave no stars. They are aimed for the younger and more high chance folks who would increase their rate of success. If you are over 40, even if your AMH is decent and your other numbers are favorable you get treated as if you dont have much chance. One of their ultrasound associates Gail told me I should not even count on x number of eggs since I am old and at my age they just dont get there, but a few days later those same eggs grew to a decent size. The doctor will send you running around for letters from other doctors if you have had any prior conditions even if you are cured for good stating its for your own good when both my PCP and GI doctors agreed that as a doctor, she should have known that you are cured and there is no risk - it only tells you that as a doctor she cannot trust herself! Now their billing is a TOTAL disaster. My Federal Employee plan covers everything at 85% including IVF, and you would think if they run your insurance, and see you have met deductible, you should only get an estimate to pay that is as close to your actual dues as possible, but rather they collected over $5K from us in April, IVF was done in May and all claims have been processed by my insurance only showing patient responsibility of under $1000!!! Now to get that ~$4K back, I have wasted several hours on the phone with their billing with no luck. This means $4,000.00 was sitting in SGF accounts making them more money interest when I have to run after the money that belongs to me. No wonder they dont care about their patients!!! They are already making money off of YOUR money, so even if they lose you as a patient, it DOES NOT MATTER!!! They have already gotten profit from your money.Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere!

I highly recommend Shady Grove and especially the Woodbridge office. Dr. Hsu, Nurse Katherine, and the other nurses and receptionists were always so kind and understanding. During such an emotionally vulnerable time, I appreciated the small-office setting. It genuinely felt like the staff was invested in our success. Dr. Hsu and Katherine would always address our questions and concerns, and we never felt pressured towards a certain treatment path. We traveled to the Fairfax location for monitoring appointments and procedures when the Woodbridge office was closed, and we were also pleased with how professional and efficient that office is. We are very grateful for the care and treatment that we received, and are thrilled to be over halfway to meeting our baby girl, due late fall.

We worked with the Woodbridge Office last year. Words cannot express the appreciation I have for that staff! Dr. Hsu was always so positive. The customer service from the support team was always outstanding! Adriane was my nurse coordinator. She was so kind and responsive. She always followed up to my inquires by the end of the business day. She was a source of encouragement and I really appreciate that. I am now 35 weeks pregnant and things are going well. We will be forever grateful for Shady Grove-Woodbridge for being a part of our journey.

My experience with SGF Woodbridge was amazing. Dr Hsu and the whole team definitely made you feel comfortable, seen and part of their family. Going to a fertility clinic for the first time is a scary experience and not once did I feel like this wasn’t the right place for me. The staff was very responsive to all my questions and were always very informative every step of the way. They were all so amazing and made graduating to my OB very bittersweet. I can’t say enough great things about this team and I will definitely recommend Dr. Hsu to anyone that needs to see a fertility specialist. Thank you all so much for everything

We started working with Dr. Hsu at Woodbridge, VA office last year in July. My husband and I are both kind of people who are always scared of going into doctors office and were hesitant to start our journey. Our interaction with Dr. Hsu was so nice and I felt home from the beginning and we got a feeling we can trust her and her team. She always listened to our concerns and would answer all my questions patiently and with care. She is always ready to understand patient point of view and ready to work with what make patient feel comfortable. When we graduated at our 8 week appointment, I was very emotional and I felt like we are leaving home. All the technicians, nurses, and even front desk staffs are very nice at all facilities but especially at Woodbridge office. This journey is not easy emotionally, physically, and financially but it makes it bit easier when you know you can trust your doctor and her team. I will always recommend Dr. Hsu.

I cannot say enough positive things about SGF! The fertility process can be challenging and emotionally draining, but Dr. Hsu, Nurse Katherine, and the whole team were phenomenally helpful and supportive. There are a lot of steps to be taken and many appointments for IUI and IVF cycles, but they all made it very straightforward for us. They were also responsive to any question I had via the portal, which made communication so easy. I had to go to the Fairfax location for a few appointments and the staff there were also great! I would recommend SGF to anyone, especially Dr. Hsu!

My husband and I have been extremely satisfied with the care we received at SGF Woodbridge. The team there is incredibly compassionate and personable, always prompt to follow up after procedures with next steps, and quick to return phone calls and portal messages. My nurse, Katherine, spent hours on the phone over the course of our months in her care, making sure I understood my treatment plan, instructions for care at home, and outlining all of my pricing options whether through insurance or for out of pocket costs. Dr. Hsu was my doctor and was so kind, reassuring, and professional throughout, often calling me personally with results of tests and procedures. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

We had a great experience at the Woodbridge Shady Grove office with Dr. Hsu, Adriane, and the whole team. All treatment options were clearly explained and I felt like I was making informed choices about my fertility options there. Team members were easy to get a hold of both through the patient portal and by phone. Appointments were easy to make and change. I would especially recommend Dr. Hsu to anyone who has experienced multiple miscarriages as she was very kind, understanding, and supportive. We are so glad we went to SGF.

My partner and I had a really wonderful experience at the Woodbridge location of Shady Grove. The staff there were always friendly and professional, and I loved Dr. Hsu in particular. Im sure she had many other patients, but she was very caring and would even remember details of my life that I had shared with her previously. It took us a little time to get pregnant, but everyone there remained positive and kept our hopes up. In the end, it was a success! Honestly, I wish we could have had Dr. Hsu for the rest of the pregnancy too!

Being a patient at SGF Woodbridge has been a wonderful experience, and Im very thankful for the care I received. Between Dr. Hsu, my nurse Katherine, and all of the wonderful staff, I felt like I was cared about as a person, and a plan was created for my husband and I that was tailored for our needs. IVF is no small feat - it takes a lot of commitment and strength to get through, especially when it doesnt all go smoothly. During every step of the process, Dr. Hsu and Katherine were so supportive and hopeful for us, and it made a lot of difference. I highly recommend SGF Woodbridge to feel the more personalized care this amazing team offers!

The staff at the Woodbridge office were always so pleasant to deal with. They always greet you with a big smile and a soft voice. Infertility can be so emotionally overwhelming and sometimes that smile at the front desk can make such a positive impact to your day.Our Doctor was Dr.Hsu and she was an absolute blessing! We brought her a complicated case of stage IV endo, frozen pelvis, endometriomas and PCOS. She is a very empathetic doctor and was always willing to answer any questions or concerns to help ease our nerves. Her communication is also amazing! I cannot recommend her and her team of nurses enough!

Our entire Shady Grove experience was phenomenal. From our amazing Nurse Adriane who stayed by our side and patiently answered any questions that we may have, to the wonderful Dr. Hsu who expertly helped us navigate any decisions or hiccups, to the wonderful SGF staff who always greeted us with a smile and made us feel welcome. Excellent practice. The environment was small and cozy. My husband and I have nothing but good things to say about Shady Grove, particularly the Woodbridge office. Everyone was so friendly, helpful, and positive. We were always treated respectfully and never felt rushed even when the office was seeing other patients and appeared busy. Dr. Brad Swelstad and Nurse, Chelsea Bristol were great. I would highly recommend Shady Grove and this practice.

My husband and I loved the staff at Shady Grove. They were so helpful, and always responded to the messages in the portal so fast. I have a bit of anxiety, and they were there every step of the way. Any questions I had they answered them, and even if there wasn’t an answer they still made me feel like everything would be ok. Special thank you to Dr. Hsu and Adriane for providing my husband and I with plenty of information and hope. After try two cycles of IVF elsewhere, it was a bit nerve wrecking coming to a new place. Dr. Hsu was very helpful and very confident that she could assist my husband and I with a successful pregnancy. So far so good, I am 14 weeks today and this is the furthest so have EVER been with pregnancy! Thank you so much Dr. Hsu and Adriane for making my husband and I dream come true!

Dr.Hsu is an amazing physician that truly displays compassionate care. The IVF journey can be very hard and frustrating at times but Dr. Hsu and her team will be there with you every step of the way no matter the outcome.

To be very honest after not seeing any Doctors for a long time. They make me feel more confident of trusting nurses and Doctors. They take your concerns seriously and are very attentive. The staff is nice and Dr. Swelstad was very informative about the whole process. And the nurse I have (Ashley) is super kind and always responsive. Thank you guys

This facility made me feel very comfortable , explained everything to me in ways I will understand , I love using the portal doctor Hsu always on top of things , Brittany always that pleasant face when you walk in it feels like a 3rd home and Nurse Catherine she is completely amazing, always giving me words of encouragement even when I had a bad experience at another facility I called her out of all people balling my eyes out because she’s always so positive and cares for her patients. I am currently undergoing treatment but i have faith we will achieve the ultimate goal.

I was referred to Shady Grove by my OB-GYN for treatment for infertility. Dr. Garde was my doctor. I am very happy and satisfied with her job. My first IUI was successful. The whole team did a good job and explained the process well. I am pregnant with twins and grateful for the outcome. So blessed. Thank you shady Grove for making it happen!!!

I’m sad to see the low overall rating. I’ve had nothing but amazing experiences so far here. The staff is warm and encouraging, in a situation where that makes a huge difference! Everything has been easy and outlined very clearly, which has given us great confidence as we move through everything.Dr. Swelstad is easy to talk to and very open to all questions to matter how big or small!

In the beginning we just felt part of a family and they were so great about getting in contact with you and letting you know what was the next step within the process. As time went on with the different treatments- I couldnt get anyone to answer the phone or even return my call and that includes my nurse. The customer service is horrible. I recently switched insurances and was waiting for them to verify benefits its been TWO - THREE WEEKS waiting and my husband and I decided that was enough and moved onto another doctor and facility. This process is such a delicate matter and should be taken with the outmost respect, dealing with infertility is hard enough that the last thing you need is to feel as though you arent supported by the doctors and nurses that you are paying for. Shady Grove has a great reputation of helping people with success with infertility but I truly believe that because they are expanding so much that they have lost focus on caring for their patients. I also know of another situation where my friend miscarried from her IUI and there was no compassion that she left and got pregnant at another facility!Former patient

I love the Woodbridge office. The staff and doctors are so kind and helpful. If you are having trouble conceiving give them a chance you wont be disappointed. I wish I could give 100 stars. Seriously this office is amazing the staff is over the top. I wish I could use them for everything.

So I am glad we did our homework ahead of time. We were going to get treatment here until they quoted us a price of $100 just to talk to someone on the first visit (co-payment). My last experience with another company was $40. Giving them 2 stars for satisfactory customer service. We plan to go somewhere else.

Dr. Svelsted and his team were amazing, I was extremely fortunate and conceived our healthy baby girl after just one IUI round. We couldn’t be happier with our experience.

We had the worst experience in our life. Don’t deal with them at all they are bad in dealing and caring about their patient and dont trust their financial team contact your insurance and follow your insurance. I wish i did not come bu them at all.

My experience was terrible with the whole process. No one follow up with you, all they think about is your money. I was thinking of going there for the second time, but I will look some where else. The only good person was Dr Garde .

Utterly incompetent, unfortunately. They lost our test results, and then moved to a new portal that was 100% inoperable. Avoid if you can.

They are doing a miracle!!!!! Super thankful to all the team for making me pregnant!
