Potomac Urology

I discovered Potomac Urology when my Primary Care Doctor wanted a Cystoscopy to determine why there was blood in my urine. He wanted me to go to another Urologist that wasnt available for months. Potomac Urology was one of the few Urology practices with decent reviews and availability. I booked my first appointment with Dr. Klein at their Woodbridge location, which is in the Medical Building behind the Sentara Hospital on Opitz Boulevard right off I-95.As instructed, I arrived early to a full waiting room. Iris, a total sweetheart, was the front desk clerk that conducted my intake. She handed me a host of forms to complete, and advised that I might end up filling them out in the exam room. As predicted, I didnt get a chance to complete them before I was called back. The Medical Assistant (MA) asks me to provide a urine sample. No one told me I would need to do that, so it caught me by surprise. The MA advised that I could leave my things in the exam room unattended, but I hauled it all with me, because the forms had a lot of protected health information (PHI) that I did not feel comfortable leaving out in the open since she was leaving the room, too.I return to the exam room where the MA hurriedly asks me about the prescriptions I was taking. She didnt seem to care about accuracy, as I raced through my phone to try to get her accurate names and spellings, which frustrated me. She didnt complete my medical intake. She told me half of the information asked in the forms wasnt important. She also didnt conduct any vitals. When she asked my weight, I asked if they had a scale, to which she said, No, there isnt one in the entire practice! I thought that was crazy.When Dr. Klein arrives, he is matter-of-factly responsive - meaning, he was kind of like a yeah, yeah, yeah as I explain why Im there, like I was cattle, just another sheep hed seen that day. That feeling didnt go away when I went to the booking desk to book the cystoscopy appointment with this woman - the whole reason why I am there. I am asking her questions to prepare myself for that day and she was treating me like I should know what she knew. I kept saying over and over again, I have never had this done, so please bear with me. I just didnt want anything to come to me by surprise like the urine sample request did that day.I end up doing my cystoscopy with Dr. Wong at their Fairfax location on Joseph Siewick Drive.I arrive there early, too. Iris, a familiar face, greets me. My appointment was for 4:30, but I didnt get seen until almost 6. Dr. Wong has two women on his team - his MA and Scheduler - that share the same name (which now escapes me). His MA prepared me for the procedure. Since this was my first time meeting Dr. Wong, I had a host of questions. Dr. Wong answered all but one. Prior to starting, I asked him if I would be able to get the cystoscopy on a compact disc (CD,) to which he said, No, not a CD. In the way he responded, I was led to believe I could get the results another way. However, its my fault (not his) for not seeking clarification. This is the reason for me writing this detailed review. I want to give YOU the information I didnt have.Dr. Wong took a CAMERA - a cystoscope - into my urethra - a very uncomfortable (not painful) procedure - and did NOT TAKE ANY PHOTOS. You read right. He put a camera inside me and did not capture ANY evidence while he was there with said camera.So, why does this matter?If I want to get a 2nd OPINION, the next doctor would have to REPEAT THE PROCEDURE, because all they have to review are Dr. Wongs words in a report. UNBELIEVABLE.When I learned this, I was pissed! It feels fraudulent, almost.All of my encounters with this practice were friendly and informative, for the most part. Had my cystoscopy ended with photographic evidence that I could take back to my Primary Care doctor or another Urologist, this would have easily been a 4-5 star review. However, Potomac Urology let me and my insurance company down and its for that reason I cannot recommend them.

Dr Desai as always is very personable and knowledgeable. He presented me with clear options regarding my health concern. I appreciate his guidance.

Dr. Klein is very knowledgeable, professional and likable. His staff are friendly, thorough and effective. I feel my health and safety are in good hands at his office.

It was my first visit to Dr Singh .The secretary at the front desk was very welcoming . With three minutes I spent with Dr Singh , he was nice and helpful . Let us see what happens in my second visit.

Absolutely horrible! I would NOT recommend Potomac Urology to anyone!! I had an appointment with them this past Wednesday (7/17/24) and felt like the doctor (Dr. Shawn Marhamati) barely explained anything, didn’t even state the test results, prescribed medication and rushed me out the door! It was literally less than a minute. Then after his assistant put in notes in the system…again rushed me out of the room and made it feel like they just got paid and had no other use for me. Then, I come to find out that my prescription wasn’t sent to my pharmacy. I have called Potomac Urology 4 times now and I keep getting an overseas call center. This call center puts in a request (even a rush request) and I hear nothing!! I’ve asked to speak to anyone at the doctors office and have been told repeatedly that they are too busy for my call. I just need someone to click a button and send my medication to the pharmacy!! Potomac Urology has the worst customer service!!! I’ll keep calling and see what happens… but currently no medication and my issue is getting worse.

Dr. Klein has a very good manner, offers explanations without prompting, and readily answers any questions. He takes the time needed with his patients, and smiles when he’s doing so.

I was under the care of Dr. Singh, he was very professional and made sure all my questions got answered. He keeps things easy to understand and the staff that work with him do an excellent job as well!

The staff in the office are very friendly and professional ; do their best to make your visit comfortable. Dr. Desai is one of the best and knowledgeable doctor and do his best to help you by explaining the issues and offering you the best solution available.

Potomac Urology did a very good job on my last appointment. I had a lot of questions. He took time to patiently answer these questions and gave me wisdom concerning the best ways forward for my medical situation concerning urology.

Dr Desai is an excellent doctor very understanding and comfortable to talk to.When he was in Manassas I lived not too far from his office.Though I dont drive I didnt hesitate to follow him to Woodbridge where he now works.

His entire office is the most friendly, competent bunch of people I have encountered in years. Dr Singh managed every step of the way in thoroughly explained, easy to understand explanations. The operations went very smoothly, and accomplished exactly what he said they would. Everyone around the large hospital seemed to admire him and said I had picked the very best. After being around him for a couple of months, I agree with them. He is just a nice, friendly guy with a great bedside manner.

My mom has been going to Dr Desai for years. He listens. The office is local and conveniently located in the office building adjacent to the Sentara hospital. They are busy but organized. Dr. Alok Desai made me feel comfortable during my visit (first) and listened attentively to my concerns and questions.

Potomac Urology doctors have provided excellent care for my 87 year old dad. We would recommend their practice as they were extremely professional and knowledgeable providing the necessary medical guidance for his bladder surgery.

I will credit this office with taking me seriously and enacting the appropriate tests (recommended by my PT and referring physician), rather than just pushing me into pelvic surgery. But ultimately surgery was their recommendation, even though there’s nothing anatomically they can point at to say there is a fix needed. After I saw a neurologist (who said absolutely no surgery—this is nerve damage) and conveyed his opinion to the urologist at a followup, the urologist stopped suggesting it and basically said see you later. At that appointment, he mentioned a specialist located in Fairfax who specializes in prolonged deliveries, but when I called back (twice personally, and my PT once on my behalf) to get that doctor’s name, none of our messages taken down by the secretaries were returned.If you go with this practice, know that there is a severe scheduling deficiency. Call ahead before you come at least? As I write this, I’m in a room, and I’ve been waiting 30 minutes here. That’s after waiting 30 minutes past my appointment in the waiting room. I should have just left then, but they said my appointment would begin any minute. For a different appointment that was a procedure, they were an appointment and a half behind: an HOUR AND A HALF. No one called to tell me or ask to reschedule. No one even said anything when I checked in; I asked after half an hour what was up. I commuted and have two children under 5, so I decided to stick it out. My appointment began AFTER HOURS for their office and concluded 75 minutes later for what was an estimated 45-minute procedure. By the way, the tiny room had an overflowing trash can and a chair with broken stirrups that kept falling out mid-procedure. Unacceptable and unheard of, but what do you do after the wait and when you find yourself in that position when it’s not at all what you were expecting. I have also had two moderately on-time appointments, one a procedure.The doctors have been attentive. I do have a problem that needs fixed. But no one is for sure of the fix, and my issue is more nerve damage than an anatomical pelvic issue, so the doctors aren’t my saviors anyhow.My recommendation is to find somewhere else to go if at all possible. I’m going to try to make this my last appointment.

Always on time, professional, communicates directly with empathy. Knowledgeable and listens to me when outlining the rest of the health issues since our last visit.

He seems understanding and listened to my concerns. I have another appointment with him in about a month and he explained why it wouldnt be sooner.

I was recommended to the office after a hospital visit my appt was scheduled for 10am I was checked in by 9:59am. After 30 minutes no one called I had to go to the front to see what the issue was..the front desk went to check to come back and say the doctor was running 15-20 minutes behind...cool wish someone would have communicated that ( communication in this office is horrible -3stars) when I went back the check in nurse did not acknowledge the wait nor said how long it would be. When she asked had the paperwork been completed I informed it was almost an hour ago...still no apology more of an oh well gesture. After saying the doctor will be in shortly and have a good day another 10 minutes pass..nothing ...I am on a pill schedule from the hospital at least be considerate.. then after an hour ask for a urine sample so the Dr can look at..that could have been done while I waited at least something would be done ..a whole 1hr and 10 minutes late to even start the process is unacceptable this is not the ER ...if it was me I would be charged. Give me the option to reschedule... ( customer service -3 stars). I asked how much longer and the nurse at the desk had the nerve to have an attitude.. the Dr was nice and apologetic as well as understanding the core of my frustration which added a 1.5 star. The staff needs sensitivity training as well as communicating etiquette. If you know your Dr is running late or struggling help them..it makes it easier on the patients and reduces frustration. I feel bad for the Dr (empathy .5 star)

I saw Dr. Singh for an BPH consultation. The staff saw me in a timely basis (30 minutes before appointment as I arrived early). Dr. Singh was very professional. He reviewed prior testing results, and explained treatment alternatives. He was also very knowledgeable.

Doc Birhanu, NP, is a brilliant young doctor who is friendly and efficient. He identifies problems and finds practical solutions. I was unable to receive my extremely expensive medication because my government pharmacy was paying an outrageous amount, so each prescription had to be ordered with a personal phone call from my physician and then I could get only 30 days worth of the drug that was working for me. Doc Birhanu, NP, gave me a prescription and a link to RX site that provided by my exact prescription for $5 a month. He took the extra effort to ensure his 81 year old patient was up to speed on the source. Perfect!

Dr. Singh performed an Aquablation prostrate treatment six weeks ago. I was very satisfied from the start to the finish. He’s definitely an all-star doctor. I was informed before and after my procedure. Entire staff is very professional.

Great experience with Potomac Urology. My consultation was quick and all my questions and concerns addressed. Dr Malhotra was personable and I knew right away I wanted him to perform my procedure. Was able to schedule it that same day and was performed a couple weeks later. The procedure itself went as planned, no pain and only minor discomfort during the procedure and post op. My only complaint was the wait time. I wasn’t seen for almost 2 hours after my original procedure time, but in my experience, unless you’re the first patient being operated on that day you’re almost never going to be seen on time and this is at any surgery center. But it was worth the wait!

I am sharing my experiece at the Woodbridge office. Rececently I had a follow up visit with Dr. Singh which lasted less than two minutes! Considering that I have early stage prostate cancer there was zero discussion on that from Dr. Singh. He was just interested in setting up a biopsy procedure which ofcourse is a high cost procedure, which seemed to me more like a business transaction than patient care. During the visit I forgot to ask him to renew refills for a medication. I called the office to have Dr. Singh authorise the refill. The refill process took two weeks! After several frustrating calls to the Dr.s office, I asked to speak to Dr. Singh and was told, he is too busy to talk to me. I finally went to his office so I would be able to talk to my doctor in regards to why it was taking so long to get my refills, once again I was told that Dr. Singh was too busy to talk to me and for me to set up an appointment with him if I needed to talk to him. When I asked the office manager why I had to spend several hundred dollars just to have him reauthorise my medication, her response was cold and rude.. yes, that is what you will have to do! I was levid by this time and I left the office very upset. This same office, Potomac Urology, has been sending pestering emails every week, since my cancer diagnosis about attending free seminars on treatments and procedures to rectify my current medical challenge. Clearly Potomac Urology is acting more as a business enterprise than a professional, medical practice.

Dr. Singh was fantastic. The consultation was quick and easy, he informed me of the risks, he answered all my questions, and made me feel comfortable. Dr. Kandabarow is a great doctor and really listens to his patients and provides timely. Excellent for advice as well as thoroughly reviews all of the medical documentation and events of speaking with me either virtually or in a live appointment.

I felt that he was very nice and personable. He also listened to what I was saying and I don’t feel like he was trying to hurry me and just make me feel like a number. I am pleased with the service and I will be back and will refer him to others as well!

I was recommended to Dr. Desai at Potomac Urology by a close friend’s mother that had nothing, but positive experiences with Dr. Desai. He really knew how to take care of my friend’s mother when she had nothing but issues with another doctor before seeing Dr. Desai. When she started seeing Dr. Desai he was able to diagnose her issues, as he addressed them according, and was able to resolve these issues, which her previous doctor was terrible. And especially at her age of 85. So I was highly recommended to Dr. Desai. I’m presently a patient of Dr. Desai, and he’s already showing me that he takes great concern and compassion with his patients and he cares about your quality of life. Hopefully this review with help others that may have issues where they’re not being addressed properly and consider Dr. Desai.

Dr. Desai is always positive and thorough during our conversations. He is informative in regard to my concerns and what I can expect in the future. His is extremely engaging and, unlike others, is not in a hurry to move on to the next patient. We conclude my appointment only when all questions/concerns are explained.

Dr. Shawn Marhamati has a great personality, and explained my procedure in an easily understandable way. Quickly executed a relatively uncomfortable/painful procedure resulting in minimal pain/discomfort and almost no bleeding. New exactly what he needed to do and quickly accomplished the task.

I started seeing Dr. Singh about five years ago - when I was 70. He is an excellent urologist and has kept me healthy with all working parts. He is an excellent surgeon as well.

Dr. Alok Desai is such a caring, kind, &Knowledgeable Urologist. I have been seeing him for over 6 months & he has helped my condition. He explains everything & is sure I understand. My first time visiting this practice. The office was full and I got a bit anxious with this COVID pandemic going on. Had to wait a long time to see the doctor (about an hour). But I saw Dr. A.Desi and found him very helpful and explained a lot of things to me very thoroughly. He took his time examining me and asking about my issues as well as explaining. This is my first time visiting this practice so it will take a few more visits to have a full review but wanted to share my experience. The girl that assisted me at the front desk was very nice and helpful.

Dr. Klein explained the results thoroughly with me and my husband. He answered our questions and gave us guidance on what to do next. He really knows his stuff and very confident about it.

There were a lot of issues from the get go. I would avoid if you can. They had to call and reschedule multiple times because of scheduling conflicts. When they did finally get me in, they sent me the appointment confirmation with the National Harbor location, but scheduled me in Alexandria. They made me rush back to Alexandria, 30 minutes late, and they charged me a no show fee.After 5 calls, they finally called me back and agreed to reverse the no show fee.After the procedure, I have had about 5 separate bills show up, their website being down half the time to pay them, and their billing department never picking up their phone. Super unorganized and unprofessional. I’m just ready to wipe my hands clean of them.Again, please think again for choosing Potomac.

Dr Singh is an excellent caring person who meets my needs. As well as Dr Gandhi. I recently underwent surgery. Dr Singh did the exam and scheduled the surgery. Dr Gandhi performed the surgery. Both are wonderful. I highly recommend them.

I have been going here about 2 years or so. Recently, Dr. Desai had me go get a procedure that come to find out wasnt even necessary after paying 500 cash prior to the procedure. I will say I think it was recommended to take a look at a tumor on my kidney bc the size had enhanced just a little, however once the doctor did the procedure he advised he didnt do anything bc the veins around it was okay. ok lets move on, after that I had about 2 more appts one of those appts I came in and the lady tells me they cant see me bc I have a outstanding balance. I had been here several times no one told me about a balance I had. Once I called billing to see what the balance was and it I could set up a payment plan, they told me to call a collections agency to get it. I called and the balance was only $124(some change). I paid it right away and called back to ask where was the discrepancy bc they had told me I owed over a thousand dollars. No one could tell me anything and advised they would call back. Fast forward 2 weeks later, I call again and they tell me I owe the office $800 something and they couldnt do a payment plan. I just feel like this is unfair and couldve been avoided if they wouldve told me prior to the balance getting so far after Ive been there several times. Now I have a tumor that I cant get looked at bc I cant give them the money all at once and they wont take partial payments. I will be looking for a new doctor asap and very disappointed in this office. FYI- I gave 3 stars bc its not about the doctor.

Ive been a patient of Dr. Kline for approximately 10 years. During visits he always takes time to explain everything in detail and answers every question that arises regarding recommended treatment and procedures. The office staff is very professional and caring.

Dr Alok Deaai Urologyis amazing. I was thinking I would have to have surgery abd almost canceled imas I have had 4 surgeries since 2020. But with a axercize and medication I am so very much better. Just love him and his bedside manner.

My rating is specific to my doctor, Dr. Pratik Desai. All of my encounters with Dr. Desai for the past 10+ years have been very positive in every regard. My experience with the office staff has been equally positive.

After kidney stone surgery, I had a stent placed in my right kidney. I was supposed to have it taken out 3 days later, waited over a week because the office did not have any available appts. Never saw a Dr. A physicians assistant removed it, was excruciating. Dismissed my pain and was told to see my primary care Dr for follow up, knowing i developed thrush after surgery, was having shakes, vomitting, diarrhea and confusion. Then was given EXPIRED medication to treat for infection after stent removal. Expired in 2019. Office manager said it wasnt expired and I would be fine after the PA looked me in my face and said yea that means its expired. Then had nurses scrambling to find the rest of the medication, to throw away. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE, THEY DO NOT CARE!!!

From the time my prostate issue first developed, Dr Singh has been fantastic, through the whole process. The aquablation surgery he recommended and completed simply resolved my issue remarkably in a way I didn’t even dream was possible .

Be careful .... and ...... stay awayDr. SHAWN MARHAMATIs attitude was disappointing, he ignored the problem for which I made an appointment e.g., 7 mm kidney stone but to him this stone is too small , although when I studied online the stones larger then 5 mm are considered large and have to be dealt with right away, only upon my insisting he ordered CT scan , otherwise he kept on insisting for prostate surgery which is not required , since my test reports reveal it is mild enlargement, most disappointing practice I have ever visited. The Dr. SHAWN MARHAMATI has no patience to listen to the patient rather attempted to impose a surgery which is/was not required although I told the doctor that I am taking Silodosin 8 mg for last 1 year per the prescription of my previous doctor (who now stopped practicing) but Dr. MARHAMATI tried to convince me that you should stop the medicine and go for procedure....desreves zero rating.

All excellent. No problems or issues. Staff and Doctors are easy to speak with and discuss recommendations and results. Have recommended Dr Singh to others and will continue to do so. Very pleased with results.

Dr. Klein was open and honest with me. He listened to my situation and my desire then offered to do that or another solution that would work longer. I took his suggestion and believe I will be much happier for doing so.

Came to visit this practice with my fiancé and I must say that the front desk is very friendly and nice also including the MA that brought us back to the room. We did not wait long but the reason for this rating is because we saw Dr.Singh and we did receive a friendly welcoming from his part nor a introduction. The visit was very rushed, and straight to the point, that it made us feel very unwelcoming and not comfortable enough to ask any further questions. For us it is important that we develop a strong friendly relationship with specialist and this was not the case.

Dr.Desai always takes time to explain and answer my questions. I feel I can trust what he tells me.

Dr Desai has been very sensitive to my husbands many health conditions. He did not push for invasive procedures at this time. This was a relief to us. He will continue to monitor his urological issues.

I have to be honest, I stopped going to this place for the fact that it seems like the people who are there just wasn’t interested in their job or their patients, dr Stier was the man but he retired and I knew I was going to miss his knowledge and work ethics, a few times I got mad because they will wait until day before to let you know your appointment is canceled didn’t like that, I decided to go back give it a second chance Kevin seems like he knows his job and he doesn’t seem disinterested so I will continue to see him for now I’ve been fighting back to back UTI and I figured urologist might just know more than my family doctors or patient first. Wait 1 other things I went there the Monday for an appointment the Thursday they call and said I do have UTI and they would send over a prescription well that didn’t happen until the following Monday even though I called more that once to check on the prescription.

Men this is a great medical place for prostrate care .

No stars deserved here, the Veterans Hospital uses outside services when no doctor is available. The V.A. made the appointment and sent the payment paperwork to this office. This office sent me all of the new patient paperwork to fill our including insurance information. I drive twenty miles in afternoon traffic to arrive on time. I was asked for my insurance card and Id and presented them to the lady at the front desk. She immediately takes an attitude telling me they have quit taking VA and to use some other insurance. Being a disabled veteran I explained to her that I have been waiting over 2 months for this appointment and it was being paid for by VA. She said we have quit taking VA and to use some other insurance card. She also stated that their scheduling department doesnt know they have quit taking VA. She offered me no apology or even let me see what I can do, This appears to be discrimination against Veterans and very poor patient services. Im going to notify my Congressman because they have had over two weeks to see my paperwork from VA and could have called to let me or VA know. Totally Disrespectful!

PLEASE FIND ANOTHER UROLOGIST!Potomac Urology is by far the worst medical practice Ive seen. And I have visited many in northern Virginia. The front desk staff couldnt care less about the patients and they dont even pretend to care. Such a sad thing that these people are allowed to represent health care offices.Their payment system is completely messed up. You will pay hefty amount for your visit and theyll still send some random charge to collections. Then you will spend numerous hours with collection agencies trying to clear your account. When all of this could be avoided if front desk was honest enough and didnt try to trick you with a random hidden charge. If someone is willing to pay $800 up front, paying an extra $100 is no big deal for them. But this office doesnt want to keep it simple.Now theyll respond to this review saying that they dont recognize me or Ive never been to their office. Or theyll ask me to reach someone else to clarify any misunderstanding.Please save your time and energy. Please choose someone else for your family and friends!

Dr Inderjit Singh has been treating me for four years, I am extremely happy with the care that I have received. First, for Kidney cancer, Dr Singh used Robotic Surgery to treat stage 2 cancer. I had very little pain (two to three days) and I did not need radiation or chemo. My recovery was very quick. A week ago, I had Robotic Surgery to reduce Prostate size. Seven days later and all is well, I feel like I can do normal activities, however, I will follow Dr Singhs orders until he releases me. You cannot go wrong with treatment from Potomac Urology!

An Absolute MIRACLE I previously had a Euro-Lift that gave positive results for maybe 3 months. My prostate had grown by 50% in the 18 months since the Euro-Lift. Dr. Singh recommend a dual procedure; Day1 treatment to reduce blood flow to my prostate & Day2 the Aquablation. Its been 45 days and the results are nothing short of amazing. Strong urine flow, complete emptying of bladder, one time or none arising during bedtime to urinate. Singh explained that he had removed approximately 33% of my prostate and I should finish my life without needing at future procedures. I responded, My mom is 103 and still alive and he should probably schedule me again to 15 years out! Thanx to my GP, Peter Ramirez, for his referral to Singh and thanx to Dr Singh for preforming life changing surgery. GOD has Blessed Me.

Potomac Urology in Woodbridge is a very easy place to get to with plenty of parking. The office is very clean, and the office staff are very professional and friendly. It’s never a long wait before you’re taken back to one of the examination rooms. I would highly recommend Potomac Urology in Woodbridge and Doctor Klein to family and friends.

Dr. Klein is compassionate, kind and takes care of your worries if you tell him. He answers questions without hesitation. I feel extremely comfortable in his care.

If I could give this group a zero, I would. My doctor, Dr. Ghandi is fantastic, but his staff is borderline criminal. Called yesterday to ensure there was social distancing and was told that every two chairs were turned around so others couldnt sit there. I was told that by TWO office managers. Went today and every seat was taken, there were people standing around and no social distancing. I plan on reporting them to the Virginia Health Department. Aside from that, the staff is EXTREMELY rude, nasty and basically dont care about their jobs. The billing department has screwed up my account three times and Ive had to spend way too much time straightening them out. Ive been going to this group for several years, but today was the last. If they care so little as to keeping their patients safe, I dont need to be there. Hoping the Health Department shuts them down once and for all. Shocked to read all the horrible reviews and that the practice remains open!

Dr. Klein is very cordial and professional. I appreciated that he gave me his opinion regarding my medical issue. I much prefer that over ambiguity and sugar-coating.

Dr. Klein has been Great..I can NOT say the same for the nurse.. My wife had major surgery on her kidney.. we received conflicting information from office. Dr. Tells us one thing..the nurse instructed office something else. When asked to speak with her receptionist put us on hold then came back to phone only to transfer us to voicemail.. lets see if we get a return call..stay tuned it gets better!! UPDATE..After my post.. I got a call from not only dr.. kleins medical Skype ( if thats correct).. but from Dr. Klein himself. THAT WAS A HUGE RELIEF for my wife and I. The conflicting information was resolved and I can not Thank dr. Klein enough.. as I stated my wife had major kidney surgery and the last thing we needed was more conflict.. As a result I would have to give a five star review to dr. Klein for his concern and attention to this matter..THANK YOU.

Dr. Desai is absolutely wonderful hes very very knowledgeable and explains things in a way that you can understand and no question is too silly for him to take you seriously and answer you. Hes also very patient and kind and has a good sense of humor.🤩

Dr. Pratik Desai, MD is extremely knowledgeable and has a great bed-side manner. If i ever move from this area i will keep Dr. Desai as my Urology doctor, even if i have to do long distance traveling.Let me not forget the staff that work at Potomac Urology, they are absolutely wonderful and so helpful.

Incredibly disappointed in the Woodbridge office. I had a vasectomy on a Friday and my post-op meds were not sent to the pharmacy. I confirmed with the pharmacy that the prescriptions were not received and called the office twice the day of my procedure to get this corrected. The prescriptions still were not called in. I called again on Monday and left a voicemail detailing the issue and requesting a return phone call. It’s now Tuesday evening and the prescriptions still have not been sent to my pharmacy and I haven’t heard anything from the office. Find another practice to go to for your urology needs.

Ive had a terrible experience with these people. They seem more concerned with doing a lot of invasive tests on my 81 year old Dad. The first test was very painful for him and he prescribed a medication for him to try for a month. The medicine worked very well and he wasnt having accidents anymore. I call for a refill and the woman refuses to do it and insists he has to come to the office for a follow up. I explain to her I dont have a vehicle at the moment and it will be a few weeks before my sister can take him. I left a message for the Dr and got no response and now my dad is wetting on everything. So if you think these people are going to care about you think again. They are all about money

In a very brief personal interaction, Dr. Singh came off as very knowledgeable, and pursued in my opinion the right direction in requesting that I get a CT scan. I only hope if there is a red flag on the scan, Dr. Singh would not wait until the third week in November before asking me to come in!

Long wait time and took less than two minutes for the consultation. If there is something that disappoints me with a medical professional is not taking the time to listen to my specific concerns. As patients we are not templates and auto fill in the blank. A doctor must take at least 15 minutes to go over your health history and concerns, specifically if it is the first visit to the practice. Not doubting the ability of the physicians but this is just my personal experience.

I would have given him 5 stars, because hes very knowledgeable and professional, but the hour in the waiting room was too long of a wait.

They treat you like cattle push in and out . Dont explain details they also lie about procedures . Zero confidence, then when you tell the doctor your feeling he raises his voice when you raise yours back he then refuses to treat office is over crowded in all areas and dirty. The office was extremely small, both waiting room and exam rooms. Staff was nice but appeared disjointed. Their work area was very tight and appeared to be stumbling over each other for space. It feels that the doctors do not care about their patients or staff comfort.

0 stars. I brought my father here after a hospitalization for follow-up. I am a RN and tried to bring up concerns about my father’s urine looking pretty suspicious for infection. When I asked about doing a urine culture/urinalysis, Dr Singh brushed me off and interrupted me to say the test would be pointless. I took my father to the ER the next day and he was admitted for a raging kidney infection.

Dr. Pratik Desai has been my husband Paul Bubernak urologist for many years and has provided excellent care to him. He is an excellent, friendly doctor, I would recommend him to anyone looking for very good urologist.

Worse place to ever make an appointment. Had to bring my mother in today at 3:30 for an appointment and 4 people that came AFTER us went in first. She wasn’t called in until 4:20 with a rude nurse that gave my mother attitude. The front desk lady is highly rude to clients and her other co workers. She said “ Whatever I’m not calling them today, I have a lot of clients I have to call tomorrow anyways” In front of a full lobby of clients. Receptionist need to get there act together and find a new job if they don’t like what they’re doing.

I honestly will never go back here.. You will wait longer than the actual consultation the doctors act like they dont care about anything that you have going or even give you a chance to even ask questions. If you have to go multiple times you will see multiple doctors that all tell you different things. I was told that i would get a Ultra sound of kidneys at my 6 week follow up and i went and they didnt even do that. also if you have a balance with them they wont send you bills but will ask you for the payment the next time you come and if you dont have it you will not be seen. the only good thing i can say is that each time i come the nurses are amazing but other that everything else is horrible

We want to recognize the uncommon care and professionalism of the technical therapist that administered a urodynamics test to my husband at your Woodbridge offices on November 30. Christina Bird, who works for BHN, took care to explain each procedure in advance, which helped to reduce anxiety. She patiently answered our questions and did her best to make my husband as comfortable as possible throughout, given the unavoidable stresses and demands of the test. Worst experience ever! I have been going to one of the doctors for almost 9 months now and I am yet to have kidney stone out of me. Every time I go there I have to wait about 20-30 mins just to hear get an x-ray done or get a CT scan done and come back in 2 weeks. Last time I visited(about a month ago), I got ultrasound and and doctor told me he will call me and he is yet to call me. He also told me to get some other test done but I am never going back ever again. It just seems that they are running a business rather than helping patients. Though, the nursing staff is very friends and helpful.

Well short of filing a malpractice suit, here is my review.Before the malpractice, they try to stuff in as many patients to try to squeeze every nickel out of the day, leaving no time for a Dr. to talk over and possible treatments, etc ... and just making it an uncomfortable all around doctors clinic.On to the malpractice. Assistant, not sure why Dr. wasnt doing this procedure, could not get catheter past my prostate, and correctly stopped. A Dr. I had not met before then comes in and tries and also cannot. He then decides to try it with a camera, Cystoscopy(?), a procedure however, I was suppose to have under anesthesia the following week. Also couldnt get past prostate.OK, thank you, good bye, with just one antibiotic pill. No warning about the pain I might be in. No mention if I cannot urinate for a certain amount of time, what 6-8hrs, I should go to emergency room. No medication for potential pain. Couldnt urinate for about 13 hours due the excruciating pain. Should have went to the emergency room, had I known.Stay away.

I was and still am so impressed with Dr. Gandhis bedside manners.He explained everything to me concerning my kidney problems and answered all my questions. Also, he is taking preventative precaution by prescribing another ultra sound within 3 months to verify that there are no more stones.All the surgical nurses and caregiver nurses and assistants were extremely courteous and I would recommend Dr. Gandhi and Sentara Hospital to anyone who would ask my opinion.Thank You Dr. Gandhi and Sentara staff

Dr. Pratik Desi is the best doctor I see and I see a lot of doctors (gastro, cardiac, ENT, Cancer). He cares about his patients. Ive been a patient since 2011 and have complete trust in him and his associates.

I have been a practice patient for many years and always treated respectfully and professionally. I trust their knowledge and concern for my health.

The prime example of unprofessionalism from staff to doctors. They messed up my first appointment and i was unable to see his highness i was was waiting for my online appointment and when i call they said i dont have an appointment. Then made another one and before reaching there i called them and the nurse asked his highness and he agreed to see me. I went there sit there waited there and then was asked to make another appointment. He wont be able to see you. I wish i wouldve read the reviews here before going there.

I have found Dr. John Klein an extremely skilled and highly talented urologist. Especially, with combined kidney and bladder issues and effective pain management. He was not my first urologist over the last twenty-five years but truly is the best! His nurse assistants and office support staff are friendly and have effectively taken care of my questions or needs.

Explained everything to me regarding this procedure and answered all of my questions. He has performed the procedure many times and I have confidence he will do a good job.

This office is extremely professional and caring. Dr. Singh is my Urologist , but wasnt available to do a procedure so I saw Dr. Kline. He has shown me the utmost professionalism in my care. He is prompt and courteous and will answer any questions that I may have. I would recommend this practice to anyone in the Woodbridge area.
