Carolinas Fertility Institute - Winston Salem

The quality of this practice has gone down tremendously. I visited this location over a year ago. I was referred by my gynecologist. My appointment was good as the doctor was very knowledgeable. I later called in to make a follow up appointment and was told there was a billing issue. I immediately reach out to my insurance, who then reach out to Amanda who is over the billing. The rep from my insurance called me days later and said she had reached out but no one returned her calls. I then stated calling to reach Amanda myself to rectify this issue. After two weeks of leaving messages I got frustrated. I then called the other offices and asked for the office manager for that location. They never answer the phones and calls are not returned timely. I was told to speak with Melissa in the Winston office she works alongside Amanda. I left several messages for Melissa and after months I got a call back was told it would be looked into and again I follow up. A year and months later I returned as my primary said I needed to be seen. I arrived after my appointment time and had to reschedule which was fine. But I was then told that I have an outstanding balance. I asked to speak to the person in charge of billing and again it was Amanda. I sat in her office for over an hour venting about the lack of communication from this office. She told me that she would have Melissa reach me the following day and she herself would contact me by the end of the day after she speaks with her billing teams. Before I left I told her I will have my insurance reach out. She said that would be great although the time to submit the bills has passed. I reached out to my insurance company as soon as I got into my car. They called to the office three times while I was on the phone. No answer they left a message that was a month ago until this day we have not received any follow up. This is the WORST show of professionalism or lack of that I have ever experienced. There is no excuse. I am huge in service this practice is in the red when it come to that.

If you want to feel like just a number, this is the place for you. They do not communicate, theyll forget about you in the waiting room, and even forget scheduled telehealth appointments. Its incredibly demoralizing having a doctors office so clearly not care about their patients. If I had it to do over again, I would drive an extra two hours to avoid this place.

This post is long overdue because well.... life but we are beyond thankful our journey led us to Carolinas Fertility!!! This was our third try to find the right clinic for us and we landed at the Winston Salem office. The entire staff was so amazing to us. They made a difficult, emotional journey so much easier for us. I feel like Dr. Y was not only very knowledgeable and professional, he was the first doctor wed met with that had a good bedside manner, which was my deciding factor in this clinic alone!! The communication was impeccable with the entire staff! There really are no words to describe how grateful we are to have gotten our miracle baby after 9.5 years of trying. Thank you all so much!!

CFI got us to conceive and our IVF baby is nearly nine months old now. Dr. Yalcinkaya was exceptional, and all of the nurse practitioners we interacted with at CFI were outstanding. I’m giving four stars, though, due to a couple of frustrations we encountered during the IVF process.First, we faced recurring billing issues. We often received bills from CFI only to find that the claims were denied because they had billed our primary insurance instead of our fertility insurance. Although these issues were eventually resolved, the frequent errors added unnecessary stress during an already challenging time.Second, we had a negative experience with Dr. Mesen, who was supposed to perform the embryo transfer while Dr. Yalcinkaya was away. During a pre-transfer ultrasound it was discovered that we needed to postpone for a month. Unfortunately, Dr. Mesen’s communication about this change lacked the sensitivity and empathy we expected. His responses to our questions felt curt, bordering on callous, which left my wife in tears. While I understand that doctors may encounter these situations regularly, the lack of compassion in this instance was surprising and distressing.Im hoping CFI sees the above and strives to improve what was otherwise an amazing experience.

Would not recommend going to this clinic unless you don’t care about finding out why a pregnancy isn’t happening naturally. Their only goal is to push IVF, and they will not treat you well if you say you’re not interested in that option.I went there for a few months, after 2 years of infertility. They let me do a couple medicated cycles because I said no to IVF. I saw someone different anytime I went in and they had 0 clue about any of my medical history so I had to explain everything at each visit. You could tell they were super annoyed anytime I asked any sort of question, and just pushed IVF at each visit.Ended up finding an actual doctor who cared enough to try and resolve the root cause of my infertility, got surgery and got pregnant naturally 3 months later. I’m now pregnant with baby 2, also naturally.

Happy to report that me & my husband were able to conceive within the first few months of working with this facility after 6+ years of trying. We worked with & saw the same provider, Caitlyn & all of our questions & concerns were always answered. I definitely recommend you book that first consultation to get started on your journey.

I was recommended to this facility by an OBGYN and Surgeon to get a second opinion on a surgical procedure was told when scheduling the first appointment that my insurance was accepted. After the consultation I was scheduled for 2 more appointments but because my one insurance wouldnt pick up. I decided to postpone until billing could get my insurance straighten out. I have been going back and foward about this billing which I have also called Blue Cross and blue shield federal whom said they will pick the bill up but they never seen a claim for the service date put in. They even looked up the the practice and said its in Network but they need an opt out letter from this company in regards to the first insurance so the other two can pick up and pay the billing. I am now sorry my OBGYN who is a Chief of Staff at our local hospital chose this facility and is currently going back to her to be referred to another organization due to not getting my phone calls returned by billing on numerous occasions to settle the due billing. Communication is horrible and they need to work on call backs within 24 hours.

When you walk into the Winston Salem office the first thing you will notice is the office ambiance is more like a classy spa. The upscale luxurious feel makes you more at ease and comfortable for any fertility procedures you may have. I personally have worked with Dr. Yalcinkaya here. He is ranked as one of the best fertility doctors in the US and is extremely knowledgeable. I had been to a couple other facilities in the US before meeting with Dr. Yalcinkaya. In my opinion some doctors I had met with were like talking to a cardboard box- very clinical and sterile. Dr. Yalcinkaya is very warm and caring and fully answers all your questions. I had an egg retrieval and embryo transfer done here and both Erin and Jen were amazing nurses. I wish everyone the best of luck with their fertility journey and highly recommend Dr. Yalcinkaya and his team if you need science to help facility the process.

This place will always hold a special place in my heart! I’ve been a patient there since 2018. My embryo transfers were successful on the first time! I have 2 little ones and at a certain time in my life questioned if that was even possible. This group Is the most knowledgeable and compassionate that you will ever find. Dr. Y is a true patient advocate. All staff truly care and I have always been treated superiorly at my appointments. Thank you CFI!

Horrible experience. Took 3 months to get appointment and no organization. Could not even schedule us labs on day 1. Tried getting somebody on phone 20 times and nobody could get on the phone to help. Got email asking what pharmacy to send prescription day before wife was supposed to take them. Asked for our Dr email and they couldn’t give it to us. Horrible. Cancelled everything. If this disorganized then how can you trust them with accurate pregnancy procedures.

Service was attentive until my plan changed from Ivf to corrective surgery. I left a message and haven’t been contacted in more than a month.

Absolutely terrible. My entire experience with this location was a disorganized mess. The nurses assigned to my care failed to have me sign any consent forms prior to treatment, failed to give me any pre-surgical instructions (which could’ve resulted in my death), failed to provide me with Lupron as a part of my prescribed trigger shot, and failed to perform the saline sonogram that Doctor Y had recommended. I was also misled about the number of follicles retrieved on the day of my procedure, and when I asked Doctor Y about this, he literally ran from my recovery room to avoid answering the question. My recovery was also much worse than I’d experienced at other fertility clinics. I bled much more and far longer than during previous cycles, making me fear that Doctor Y had taken far less than the adequate level of care with my body. The financial coordinator wasn’t much better. Megan attempted to send me boilerplate forms for a totally different patient who had undergone an entirely different procedure than mine. This resulted in my nearly paying $3,000 more than required. And even during my monitoring appointments, many members of the nursing staff appeared worn down and disinterested in their jobs — the nurse who took my blood was even visibly sick with an obvious cold, and yet still working, exposing patients to unnecessary risk. I would avoid this location if you value your time, safety, and investment.

I have had nothing but an amazing experience with CFI since starting with them in Aug 2023. I saw the PA Caitlyn Coates every single visit and she did all of my ultrasounds/procedures. After 5 yrs of unexplained infertility and a recent diagnosis of PCOS, it was nice to have a provider that took the time to listen to my journey so far and my needs for the present. She didnt make me start over from the beginning with testing but jumped right to the next steps and gave me all the options along with price and success rates. In the end we opted for medicated cycles to start and are currently 10 weeks with our little miracle after the first cycle! From New patient visit to graduation day, I felt seen and heard and am so thankful for the care and attention given!

I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful Carolinas Fertility Institute has been for us. After battling stage 4 Endometriosis and infertility for 6 years, we sought the expertise of Dr. Yalcinkaya himself. Dr. Y is truly a miracle worker and his genuine care for his patients shines through. His guidance on my IVF medications, egg retrieval and embryo transfer was incredibly accurate.The entire clinic exudes compassion and its evident that everyone genuinely cares for you. Their primary goal is to support their patients in achieving success on their fertility journey. Were currently 8 weeks pregnant with our first child and have complete confidence in CFI for all our future transfers.Before making a decision, I strongly recommend thorough research. Few fertility clinics can match the remarkable success rates and affordability that this clinic offers. Given the cost of fertility treatments, its crucial to select a clinic wisely. We are so happy we went with CFI.

Very underwhelmed with care thus far. We have paid tens of thousands to have some not so great health care. Communication has been terrible, staff has not been present during working hours and completely wasted my time with long wait times. Clearly, the doctor was unfamiliar with us during our zoom call and had no idea about any of our history. My wife and I both are in healthcare and accustom to the basics of quality care and customer service. Doubtful anyone will even try to contact me about this poor review…

I loved my experience here. The staff was great and so was our nurse practitioners. My husband and I struggled for over a year to get pregnant. The approach that was taken for the both of us was an aggressive approach and I appreciated that as I didn’t want to go and be told to go back home and just keep trying. They found the problem quickly and took a course of action. We began our fertility journey here at the end of July and I am now 8 weeks pregnant! Thank you CFI!

Excellent please to go. The entire staff is amazing and always willing to help and listen to you. Dr. Caitlin is extraordinarily she takes the time to listen to your concerns, opinions and gives you the best every time you go there. She really make a big impact with my family I cannot thank her enough

Be very careful prior to working with CFI. There are many hidden costs, even when your process is going exactly as expected. While they quote approximately $20,000 for the process, our IVF journey, so far, has cost us closer to $30 with CFI and their affiliated partners. There are more ethical organizations out there to work with and I would not recommend pursuing CFI.Update: Whilst I have been going to CFI for several months now, I only met the doctor a few days ago for my implantation. He did, however, have the time to call and harass me about my Google Review even after having another one of his staff members call earlier today.

Dr. Y is best fertility specialist we could have asked for. His efforts have blessed us with our son. He always takes the time needed to make us feel at ease even though we are a very difficult case. He is always extremely thorough. There is very good reason we continued seeing him even after we moved 9 hours away. My wife and I are so appreciative of Dr. Y and his whole team.

Terrible experience. Took three calls to get scheduled (they didnt see my referral on the bottom of my husbands). They never indicated they had a urologist on staff, so my husband had a consult (as per CFIs recommendation) elsewhere, and they were clearly peeved. When I was seen in Greensboro, Ms. Anders was the most unprofessional provider I have ever encountered. She laughed at a legitimate question I asked about sedation, and then she denied laughing when we confronted her. A nurse barged in when I was in a compromising position and undressed from the waist down, so that anyone in the hallway could have seen me exposed. And, the icing on the cake is that, after Ms. Anders warned me that an AMH of over 4 could be concerning, I received a result from LabCorp that was much higher. No one from CFI bothered to call and explain my results. When I called them, the CFI nurse said thats excellent. Contradicting what the NP had said. So which is it - is a high AMG good or bad? Needless to say, we have switched clinics and are not looking back. My advice - Run and avoid CFI if you like professionalism and good bedside manner.

They are the most awful communicators. Can’t get any information, any follow ups. Was only offered ivf. Went somewhere else in town, got an iui and got pregnant the second round.This place I went for an ivf consultation and was asked why I came without any money when they didn’t even tell me how much or what was going on. I blacked the whole meeting where they described the steps and I never could call to get clarification.

The first appointment with Dr. Yalcinkaya was excellent! It has been the best my wife and I have experienced since beginning our journey of having children. He was understanding, thorough, and patient; not to mention his nursing staff. Everyone was very nice. When we left, we were very hopeful! You cannot go wrong with scheduling an appointment with him. - Thank you Dr. Yalcinkaya!

Normally I have positive interactions with NPs but Onitisha V. Anders has horrible bedside manner. I would have thought a fertility practice would have compassionate and empathetic providers but I guess that’s not the case in this practice. I sincerely hope Ms. Anders’ behavior is not the norm across this practices providers. I was appalled at the lack of empathy and compassion by Ms. Anders’. She came in and was immediately rude, dismissive and spoke over me. She did not listen to anything I had to say. She also did not like when I had follow up questions to her “recommendations.” She did not know one of the medications I was on and instead of listening to me or educating herself she was quick to refer me out to a maternal fetal specialist, however, the real reason I believe had to do with my weight and perceived “health issues.” I would recommend asking for a different provider should you decide to go here. Hoping I can have a more positive interaction with another provider. I will update.Update: I would not recommend this practice to anyone in a larger body. You will not be treated equally and will not be prioritized by any of the providers. I can’t speak on how the providers are for straight sized patients but from my experience there is a clear bias. Also I found out two months later that the labs they were supposed to draw they did not draw all because they did not have enough blood sample. I was never notified of this. Also, I sent an email to my provider that has now been ignored for two months. So not very responsive.

I am a Charlotte patient, but have had all of my procedures done at the Winston-Salem clinic. I was very nervous going there not knowing anyone. Today, I am extremely grateful for the team there! They are very understanding and make you feel right at home. I am so thankful for everyone who had a hand in making everything go smoothly!

Beware of this place. They will scam you. My wife and I went to Carolinas Fertility Institute. We had several procedures and we were informed these were the only ways for us to have another child. They told me I had to be on certain vitamins and after consulting with another doctor we found out that the issue they said I had is nonexistant and that the previous doctor probably has some sort of a deal with the vitamin company. They also tried to charge us 3 times for the same procedure and it almost cost us thousands of dollars. We had to go back and give them all of the receipts from when we paid them to prove that we had paid. They continued to tell us we owed them money when we had already over paid and they actually owed us. They were very unprofessional and not compassionate during ultrasounds ect. The doctor was very pushy about skipping straight to IVF, but at our new doctor we were reassured that natural conception is still a possibilty. We have found a much better facility to help us with our needs.

Researched the facility and read many positive remarks. Called to schedule an initial consultation and never made it past that. Receptionist while not rude kept stating I needed gyn records which I do not have other than copies of recent tests. Explained my reason for consultation is somewhat unconventional. Was told records needed (which again I do not have).At the end I thanked the receptionist and hung up. Will not be pursuing further attempts to contact this faculty.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful Dr. Yalcinkaya and his team are. We have been going to CFI since 2018. Not only was our experience successful (we have one little boy and another baby on the way), but it is very evident that this practice uses the best, most up-to-date technology and equipment available. Dr. Y truly cares for his patients, individualizes treatment, and does whatever it takes to provide the best chance to reach your family goals.

I love Dr. Mesen and Lori. They are very professional and knowledgeable. They answered all of my questions and didnt make me feel like a bother. The Embrologist Carmen is amazing and took her time with me. She didnt make me feel rushed.They worked with me and my insurance. I dont have a bad thing to say about this clinic.

I love this clinic. Just had my frozen transfer today and the process was smooth dr. Y is the best and his staff as well everyone answers all of my questions from consultation through transfer I feel blessed we will soon meet our rainbow baby 🤞🎀

Today was my second visit with Dr. Y. The office is very clean and inviting. The nurses here are amazing and sooo welcoming. I have been very nervous to start treatment for my infertility issues but Dr. Y has given me soo much hope! He is a wonderful dr and he makes you feel like you are his only priority. When he speaks with you you just feel that he genuinely cares. Dr. Y really engages in discussions about treatment and he explains everything so your not guessing about what happened or what’s next. I’m greatful I found him as he has made this this difficult journey a little more bearable. I will definitely recommend him to anyone seeking fertility help.

Our visit here was pleasant. In the setting up the appointment stages there was a little confusion and phone tag but our actual appointment went well. I especially appreciated how nice the nurse was to us. We met with Dr. Mesen who was good at answering our questions and talking through our different options.

The staff at both Winston Salem and Greensboro locations are so empathetic and polite from the receptionist desk to the doctor! My only negative is having to ask some of the questions Ive researched online without being told first. But if I could do 4.5 stars I would because they answer your questions quickly! This facility has made the toughness of the process of battling and overcoming infertility easier to manage.

The staff here is wonderful! I had a great experience working with Dr Yalcinkaya and is staff members. I am now 4 months pregnant with a baby girl thanks to their help. It was a stress free environment and they are their to help you in whatever way you need. I would recommend Dr Yalcinkaya and his staff to anyone who is looking for help with pregnancy and infertility!

Dr Y and his staff are absolutely amazing. I was very nervous for my egg retrieval as I have never had surgery before and have a lot of allergies. The surgery went great. I had no pain and felt good afterwards. Highly recommend them to anyone.

I had a good experience. I went for the initial appointment which was around $300 since my insurance didnt cover it but it was well worth the money. They actually do something on the first appointment including ultrasound and blood work, discovered I had POCS (I had a regular appointment within the same time frame and this was never mentioned to me) and also spoke to me about the different options they would try such as a medicine that promotes ovulation.

I have had a great experience so far at Carolina Fertility Institute. Dr Yalcinkaya and all of the staff has been excellent throughout the entire process. I’ve met Dr Mesen on a few occasions and had great experiences with him as well. They always make themselves available for any questions and really go above and beyond for their patients. I would definitely recommend them!

I went here to Winston Salem office for my egg retrieval.. every one was professional, very nice. Ease any of my anxiety. I am a patient if the Charlotte office and Mandy is just a wonderful person..she will even call you after hours to answer any questions. This is a wonderful place to go.... now I hoping to for my BFP

We live in Knoxville, Tn. We read the online reviews and looked at CFI’s fantastic success rates. We traveled to the Winston-Salem location from out of state, and could not have been more pleased by the extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff and the team of Doctors were amazing. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Would highly recommend CFI to everyone.

Overall great experience. Word to the wise for any men going to collect a sample at the facility. The collection room walls are really thin and appear to be next to an office. Was kinda hard to concentrate when the ladies next door are discussing if Im related to Daniel Boone.

Dr. Yalcinkaya is very knowledgeable and patient when it comes to answering questions. We tried to expand our family for 7 years before doing IVF with the Carolina Fertility Institute. We got pregnant right away and have a beautiful little boy. We are so very thankful for everything Dr. Yalcinkaya and his team have done for us. I would definitely recommend the Carolina Fertility Institute to anyone looking for Fertility treatment!

Im not sure why this facility chooses not to contact me back to schedule a surgery?? I went for my exam In October which was recommended by my OBGYN. I was informed a lady by the name of Nikki would contact me for my surgery. I gave her some times (3wks) to contact me. She never did. I left 3messages on her voicemail. The 4th time I spoke to the main receptionist explained my concern. She (didnt catch her name) apologized Put me on hold, told me Nikki was with a patient and she would call back. Took my information for the 5th time counting whats In the system and AGAIN assured they would have her to call me back. Guess what; here it is December and I STILL havent heard from this young lady or the doctor which I emailed my concern to.All I want are my Fibroids removed !!!🤨🤦‍♀️

We have faced infertility for years and Dr. Yalcinkaya along with his kind staff were able to get us pregnant on our first IVF cycle. They were super supportive and always available when I would hyperventilate about the smallest of concerns. I would recommend this group to any couple battling infertility.

Words can’t express how grateful we are with Dr. Y and all the staff at CFI. We had been trying for 3 years at another fertility clinic in Durham and the only results were heartache and failure. Now we have Our sweet baby girl who came to us after the first IVF transfer at CFI. Throughout the entire process, CFI was thoughtful, attentive, and understanding. Thank you so much!

Embarking on the IVF Journey is daunting. Dr. Yalcinkaya made the process very easy, was willing to answer any and all questions and was very honest about what our chances were. His staff is friendly and helpful. If we decide to try for a second child we will be coming back for sure!

Dr. Yalcinkaya and CFI are top notch. I highly recommend him for infertility issues. His bedside manner is wonderful, hes extremely accessible and always compassionate. I cant say enough good things about him.

I love the fact that the doctor is so personable, any questions or concerns that I have he takes his time and answers them. Ive never seen that before. Thats a very great quality to have, how impressing..

Had a procedure done there, staff and Dr was nice and reassuring but felt very uncomfortable about the whole experience didnt get discharge instructions, thankfully Im a procedure nurse myself and know the dos and dont after this kind of procedure. Just felt out of place to be completely honest.

Spoke with Linda today and she was very friendly and helpful. Quickly helped answer my questions. Im only rating 4 stars because the wait time was a little too long to speak with someone.

Every time I call to talk to a finance person about my refund they never return my calls bad business on that end

First of all, thank God for having found this place to achieve my dream of being a mother after fighting for so long, today I feel happy to have achieved it, I still feel like it is a dream but I can now say that if I am pregnant and I know it is a beautiful reality. A year and a half ago I went to the Carolinas Fertilize Institute office in Greensboro, that was where it all started... and that was where I met the member of the medical teams, Emma Hernández, an excellent person and an incredible human being. I have no words to describe how special she is. She has treated me as a patient and always told me clearly that it was what I needed. After a year and a half I returned again with the plan to follow the process that was in August. I was very happy to have found her again. I am still happy. May she continue to be my guide. I am very grateful to her and again. Thank you, Emma Hernandez, for having found her. I feel that the process has been easier because she has always been there at the foot of the cannon to achieve the results and that everything continues to the letter. I have no words for the happiness she felt and how happy she was when she was with me in the transfer. With all my heart I wish you many blessings and success in your life🙏❤️😇

An excellent place where I could find answers to my questions and concerns about each procedure to be performed!!! Very professional medical staff and above all I thank Emma Hernández because from day one she has been with me helping me with the translation, explaining each process to be carried out... people like that make you feel comfortable and satisfied with the care provided, who take the time to address your concerns!! I recommend this place 100%
