I always am impressed with how smoothly urgent Care is run. Theres not too many people waiting. The people that are there are usually friendly and nice. And the employees are always very nice and informative. The doctor comes right in to see you and youre out of there before you know it. Its very nice, and Im glad that lt is my appointment only.
Two years ago I had excellent service with the additional difficulty of covd. Today was the opposite experience. My husband schedule a doctors appointment yesterday. We arrived this morning to be told that the appointment would be virtual and on our personal cell phone and in the waiting room! No notice of this change was given by the clinic staff. A physical exam was needed. I chose to cancel appointment.
I woke up with a soar throat. Decided to use our local urgent care. When I got there they were closed and the website said they were open. Receptionist was not very nice. Very dismissive. Didnt seem like she even wanted to be there. Was on her phone basically the whole time talking about her personal life.It was a 30 to 40 minute Wait to get seen after checking in. And then another 45 to an hour to get seen by the doctor. Who interrupted me and only took a strep test to tell me it was negative and do nothing else for me because they were obviously behind.I feel like if I would of went the er I would at least know what is wrong with me and got medication.
My husband was seen in this clinic last week for cough and congestion. Very short wait time and the nurse that brought him back was friendly and professional. Mike Bellas PA was the provider. He was exceptionally professional, knowledgeable and made us feel we were in good hands. We live in Texas, but in Angel Fire regularly. Will definitely use this clinic again if we need it.Lloyd & Ann Rahlfs
I couldn’t have had a better experience on all fronts. Everyone and everything was top notch. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!Roxanne, Sierra and PA Michael were outstanding and the two young ladies in front office were fabulous!Great job urgent care in Taos!
I usually have a good experience coming to urgent care with kind and attentive staff. Yesterday was chaos. Their doctor was not in the clinic for some reason and I was let know of that a few hours before the appointment. So I would be having a virtual appointment. I was disappointed but thought okay they have a system im sure they have a way to provide accurate care still. I get into the exam room to be told the exam will be through my own phone which I informed the nurse did not have a good camera and my battery was low because i was expecting them to provide something I guess I shouldnt have assumed. I wait for the doctor for a long time before they realize im on the guest wifi not the one for telehealth ive never done this before how would I know. Takes forever to get connected to that internet due to bad wifi signal and then once im connected takes another maybe 20 mins for the doctor to join by now its an hour after my appointment was scheduled for and im the only patient in the clinic. The doctor then proceeds to explain to me how to use their equipment to examine myself. Youre telling me im paying the same price to examine myself??? Then obviously she cant see anything through my phone because I have a bad camera. She tells me I should have gone somewhere else so that I could get physically checked out I told her my primary care is booked out a month and she told me to go to the ER. Who the hell has money to throw around going to the ER every time you have a common sickness. It felt like a blow to the head paying for let alone missing a lot of work with an hour and a half appointment that i saw the doctor for 15 minutes of, who said she couldnt help me. Also they have a list of things that they treat virtually and my symptoms were top of that list. Obviously was not something that should be seen through the phone. Dont tell people you provide a service if youre just going to tell me to go somewhere else to get checked after I pay!
Dr. Mike Ballas is always attentive and knowledgeable, he gives the best care so far since urgent care has opened in Taos. Nurse Roxane is also very kind and gentle. Thank you to the health care professionals who do their very best to serve our community. 🙂
I highly recommend this facility. They are friendly, efficient, pretty much run on time and always give you the time you need to feel as though you’re being listened to. It really matters to me and to all the members of my family. All of the staff are helpful and willing to answer the myriad of questions I always seem to have. We are very satisfied patients
This is the second time I’ve been there, and both experiences were very positive. As with many urgent care clinics, there was a wait and they filled up quickly. But when I was seen, I thought the care was very pleasant and professional.
Quality service. Quick and efficient, even without an appointment. The x-ray technician was kind and patient. Dr. Bellas was professional, caring, and proficient.
It’s so nice to know NextCare is there! I had a serious UTI and walked in without an appointment. I didn’t know you could make a make an appointment, I’ll try that next time. I received excellent care and really liked the staff. The doctor explained the medication to me and answered all my questions. I feel better already!
I’m rewriting this review after completing my experience at next care. The physician assistant Mr. Northern was excellent. I felt as though he was very caring and professional. The staff there were all very likable. Courteous and professional. The reason this rating is so low is to bring attention to the fact that even with a scheduled appointment you can wait over 2 hours!I waited 2 hours and 20 minutes before Mr. Northern walked into appointment room #1Walk-ins were waiting 3 to 4 hours.I want to add that the staff will call your cell and update you. That could be helpful to some.My take away today is next care only provides one healthcare professional for what seems to be like 30-40Patients.To be fair I don’t know how many patients they see in one day but I know there’s just one healthcare professional at the clinic and that’s why the waits are up to 4 hours!.
Wait times are terrible. You either come in and wait three hours to be scheduled or not at all. Or you make an appointment and wait two hours to be seen. They’re relatively nice but omg the wait and time to see a medical provider is the worst. I get there is patience when being a patient but come on, texting me to come to a room to be seen and then being avoided for an hour is ridiculous. There’s better chances of being seen for anything in espanola or Santa Fe honestly.
The receptionist was able to get me an appointment on the same day. The physicians assistant, Fred, listened to me and responded to all my concerns. He set up my prescription and gave me a referral for a specialist. The Technician was friendly and kind. I would recommend Urgent Care to others.
It Was a very long wait got there as a walk in at 9 they set up a appointment for 1015 didnt get seen till almost 12 left there alittle before 1 .Dr .was very good and helping explaining and checking medication that could have a reaction to medication that I take and allergic too so that was amazing and he actually took xrays which this happened in the winter and I went to urgent care at the sky valley and they had me buy lidocaine patches and sent me on my way so ya 5 stars for yesterday visit will definitely send my family and friends to taos clinic.
I needed a prescription written for my daily medication. For various reasons I was unable to get seen by other health care providers but NextCare Taos gave me a same day appointment and the friendly Nurse Practitioner efficiently and promptly wrote and faxed to the local pharmacy. What could have been problematic was taken care of in a professional and empathetic manner.
Michael Bellas was excellent. He took the time to explain everything & asked the needed questions. All staff and the nurse were nice.
How is this a Urgent care when you have to have a appointment and your booked up until monday 4 days away this is so stupid! Then dont call yourself urgent care
Dr. Johnson was knowledgeable, respectful, and kind. Celeste and the receptionist were respectful and friendly. I was seen immediately and my needed medication was sent to my pharmacy. Overall great experience! Thank you!
If you are in Northern New Mexico and need urgent treatment, I highly recommend NextCare Urgent Care.John Mahony, PA not only treated my injury quickly, he went out of his way to contact me post visit to ensure I was well informed about how to follow-up if my injury didnt heal timely. Thats the mark of a true healer.
Mike, the PA-C, is the only provider in Taos who is a registered CDL medical examiner. He deserves a lot of credit for going through the FMCSA process. He is a good medical provider who seemed very knowledgeable.
I came in to get seen at 2:45pm, I was told that they were at capacity for the day and was scheduled the next day at 9:30am. As a previously stated by another. I saw the walk ins get seen first, the app said I was first in line with no one ahead of me which was odd because that wasn’t the case. So I guess what I’m saying is, even if you make an appointment they will see you when they can.
Well I had a fall and hurt my knee.. I saw doctor jeffery Johnson he was good and All but he retired today and now I cant seem to get my documentation signed for Aflac my short term disability insurance and the front desk girl is really rude I cant believe shes allowed to be so unfriendly anyways thats what its like right now I cant reach workmans Comp...
100 % better care than Holy Cross and my backup hosp in La Jara CO - Take your loved ones here. Smart fast help.
Went in by 10 am Friday morning , next available was 12:30. Filled paper work & paid co payment. 1:20 not called , asked if I could go in later today @6 pm not till tomorrow.😲 Head to Espanola later today. They were kind enough to return CK for copay.
The wait wasnt bad. I got in and seen, treated and sent off to pick up a prescription all in about 20 minutes.
My experience was a very pleasant one.The staff were very nice. There was a bit of a wait, but who can complain about time when youre in a dire situation
Mike Bellis, PA-C is caring, thoughtful, efficient and thorough. He took great care of me with the flu and I appreciate his easygoing and kind demeanor. He had lots of research about different medications effectiveness and explained to me what to expect with prognosis. I left feeling physically ill but at ease that I had all the medications Id need and a good understanding of a contingency plan. Truly one of those great providers our community is so lucky to have.
I have been to this Urgent Care three times in the last four months, the worst “case” for a broken leg. They did X-rays there and PA John immediately and accurately diagnosed my injury. They gave me something appropriate to “wear” until I was able to get to an orthopedic surgeon. John is very knowledgeable and thorough. The staff all seems to be kind and helpful. You really feel as though you are being cared for. Like a person! Thanks to all for getting me in and expediting my healing.
The wait was longer then anticipated but over all the staff was friendly and the Dr. Took very good care of me ..Im feeling a lot better... thank you Netcare
Whole experience, with exception of online scheduling was Great. Online time slots were days away. Made an appointment online after hours for two days later. The next morning, on my way to ER, stopped by and was given a walk-in appointment later the same day. While there they had a cancellation and was seen within the hour. Moral to story (for Urgent Care) is to call for an appointment and skip online scheduling. Staff and especially thePA (John Mahony) were Exceptional.
Had a scheduled appointment last week. 45 minutes later….still waiting. Walk-ins got in first. Watched girl at front desk while I waited. She seems to take great pleasure in turning people away. She loves that part of her job
I feel confident that Im receiving the best care when I come in. Everyone that I have encountered over the last few months has shown care and concern for my well being.Thank you all!
Mike Bellis was amazing. So helpful and he took time taking care of our very sick daughter and answering all the scared parent questions. Everyone was wonderful, attentive, personable, professional and supportive. They got us in quickly and we didn’t have to wait long.
By far the best urgent care I’ve ever been to. Front desk staff is super friendly and knowledgeable and the doctor was super kind and helpful. Showed up right when they opened but did not have an appointment and they were able to get me back within 30 minutes.
The doctor was very knowledgeable. The wait wasnt to long. Everyone was nice.
What is the point in that damn app you made everyone download just to not use it anymore? You have to walk in and schedule, cant call or book online, that is absolutely ridiculous
Front desk remembered my name extended warm welcome. Technition did a great job excellent service.
The doctor was fine, but it took an hour and a half just to do it CDL Physical
This Urgent Care is a disgrace to the medical profession. My mother was having an allergic reaction, called and was told that walk ins are welcome. She left work early, drove a half hour to Urgent Care and then was told there was an hour wait time. After waiting for nearly an hour to be seen a very rude staff member told her that they decided not to see anyone else (providing no reason), even though there was still an hour and half before closing time. This kind of patient treatment is unacceptable. Not only is the Taos Urgent Care staff unkind and literally useless, they also clearly have no problem wasting the time of people who need help. Definitely try all other options in Taos before turning to this business for help, and even as a last resort your time would be better spent driving to Santa Fe or someplace else. I’m appalled that businesses like these are even allowed to operate.
I had an upper respiratory infection requiring immediate attention. Walked in without an appointment and was seen within a couple of hours. Dr Bellas diagnosed the symptoms and with the medications prescribed, I felt better within a day and extremely better within two.
Very kind staff. Prompt attention. I was traveling, and was very grateful for this excellent service.
Had a bad asthma attack and the staff and doctor were amazing really glad I went to Next care urgent care definitely recommended them thanks you guys so much God bless everyone there
Easy to schedule appointment online. Mike the PA was quick, friendly and efficient. Wait time was a little long but Mike was able to get out in time to get meds from the pharmacy.
My appointment was at 6 I wasn’t seen till almost 7. I asked for my prescription to be sent to Walmart they sent it to Walgreens. They also triaged me over the phone which was a little strange but it was okay. The doctor and nurse were nice though.
Went on on a Sunday without an appointment. Was seen quickly and meds prescribe for an infection. Zak and all personnel were efficient and incredibly friendly. Would not hesitate to return or recommend to others.
These group of people could care less about sick people. This is a money making business and their priority is not medical care. Online they stated they were taking patients, I drove half an hour to be a walk in because they were not taking anymore online appointments. I arrived and they refused to see me even though they did not close for another 1.5 hours. Just go straight to the ER. Don’t waste your time with these incompetent individuals.
Staff were friendly and helpful. The PA insures confidence. My only complaint is about WiFi. They should have it, and how to access it should be prominently displayed in the waiting area.1. The appointment system sends texts with links to web pages. If your phone signal isnt strong enough, you cant check in, answer this survey or anything. This seems essential.2. I did have a pretty long wait, partly due to a real emergency down the hall, so it would have been nice to have WiFi to entertain myself.
I arrived at 10 am to get checked for fever, productive cough, body aches, and fatigue. They told me the most efficient would be to take an appointment for the afternoon at 3 so I wouldn’t have to wait. I went along though I was concerned about the delay in getting any needed medications. When I arrived at 3, there were 7 people in front of me, including 6 walk in patients! I was called in at 4:15 and still had to wait another 15 minutes. The staff seemed overall disinterested. No feeling of concern or even basic friendliness. Unfortunately, it is the only Urgent Care in Taos. If you can find another alternative, I recommend you take it.
I was able to take my son without an appointment, and the lady at the front gave me a scheduled time to return a little later. The nurse and Dr. were great in helping him.
Staff were really friendly and efficient which I very much appreciated.
This place is a lifesaver. Try and see your doctor on short notice… Good luck. But there you are, call or drop in or both. They always figure out a better way to do something. I love the PA I saw. Intake person fun and personable. All good!
Competent and friendly staff. I had very little wait time on a Friday evening with an appointment. A knowledgeable PA diagnosed and ordered meds for my medical problem. I would have no problem being seen at this clinic again. I highly recommend them.
Went in for Covid. They didnt run any tests or do much other than write me prescriptions. (I had taken a test at home that showed positive) Ended up with a $300 bill when I returned home from my trip. The most expensive urgent care Ive ever been to. And sadly one of the only options around Taos. And they dont tell you upfront how expensive it is. Also they charge you a new patient fee, even if you are from out of town and wont be returning. If you dont have insurance, Id suggest trying to find a better option.
Took longer to be seen than what I expected. Although the nurse came in a couple of times to inform me that I wasn’t forgotten, that there was several patients that needed longer attention. I understood and appreciated that she informed me, to why it was taking long to be seen. The doctor was great and professional. He was very informative and I felt comfortable with his diagnosis.
This was the 3rd time at Next Care. I was treated by Dr.Bellis each time. Hes a great Doctor who gets right to what is needed to get you well. I greatly appreciated his diagnosis candor and recommended treatments to get well.
Very helpful and supportive when we really needed urgent care — thank you!
They were very helpful. And it didnt take as long as I thought it would
Wonderful Front Desk Customer Service!!!On 8/17/23 at 4:00 pm I rush my wife to this Urgent Care because she fell at the Plaza and her ankle twisted and began to swell. They took her in and treated her accordingly!Thank you
Pleasant experience. No waiting. Personal experienced professionals.
On travel to NM from CT, developed a sinus infection. A virtual visit with another facility yielded a recommendation to be seen in person. I was able to do a walk in at NextCare and was seen immediately. The PA, Fred, was personable and thorough, and indeed confirmed I had a sinus infection. He prescribed an antibiotic and my vacation was salvaged.
Outstanding 5 star experience. I was quickly roomed and examined. Staff worked well as a team and did a great job in communication and getting me what I needed to get on my way. The provider Mike was excellent and exceeded expectations - thank you for helping me.
Received very good care. Everyone was friendly and helpful.
Very pleased with warm, competent and caring professionals!!! Highly recommend!Alice MB
Although the staff were very friendly and professional, my treatment at this facility was not professional and in fact left me quite upset. After checking in online for a laceration repair and showing up early, I was charged in advance for treatment. Once I was called back, the doctor informed me that given how many patients were already ahead of me in line as well as how many patients were behind me in line, if my laceration were serious he would not have sufficient time to treat me without ignoring other patients and therefore I would need to go to the emergency room of the local hospital. Although I appreciated his candor and his bedside manner was excellent, I did not feel I should be charged if I wasnt going to be treated especially given they knew in advance that they were potentially overbooked and understaffed to handle a laceration issue which was what I signed up for with my online appointment. The doctor was kind enough to champion my issue, and talk to the front office staff but it made no difference. The front office staff when I spoke with them were likewise very friendly but unable to refund my money given this companys policies. If they were unable to treat me because after reviewing my wound they determined that it was inappropriate for me to get that kind of care at their facility then I would understand that you had to examine my wound to make that determination. However that was not the case. The doctor made it very clear that he was more than capable of handling my wound and had done so times in the past but at this moment in time he did not have sufficient time to do so given how many other patients he had to tend to and the fact he was the only doctor on duty. So they charged me for telling me they were too busy to treat me.Update 7/1/2020: I did speak with the management company that runs this location in Taos and they did refund my charge. Thank you for listening, NextCare Urgent Care, AND I recommend you change your policy and empower your staff to issue refunds when you cannot treat people due to being understaffed. Its simple to do that and it would greatly improve your google ratings.
Very good care and helpful service with a deep cut. Thank you.
The whole process of getting registered online, getting an appointment, checked in and seen was smooth. The people were very friendly and sympathetic to a guy far from home. I wouldn’t want to have medical issues away from home, but if you do and you’re in Taos, go here!
This was my first time visiting this office. I’m so impressed. Front desk staff and all medical personnel were incredibly friendly and informative. So glad we have this in Taos.
I had a great experience at urgent care. I had a severe spider bite and the ER was overwhelmed. Urgent care was able to not only accommodate me, but were also patient, understanding, and caring. Please give Monique a raise- works at the front desk in taos, NM!
Every time myself or my children have been seen here, we receive excellent care from start to finish. Nextcare is one of few places in Taos that provides healthcare services, so Im especially thankful to have such quality care at a very busy location. This is the first review Ive done so Im culminating my overall experience as a patient. Thank you for your hard work.
Long wait sometimes but they are very busy with just one Good Doctor. Excellent service. Best to schedule by phone if can early. Walk ins can work but must be early or noon before they are booked.
Friendly customer service, physician was intelligent, informative & caring. Definitely like the updates on cellphone when your turn was up. Sure the wait time is over an hour considering primary doctors are book months in advance. Greatly appreciate having this type of business locally.
Was seen on a Saturday, but they don’t send samples to lab over the weekends, ie, no daily sample pickups. so urine culture took 5 days to return. the 1st antibiotic didn’t resolve symptoms. they don’t take calls to check on results, have to go back in person, told need to make a 2nd appointment. ($) so i went back, but there were no more sterile cups w lids for a repeat sample to culture. “we don’t have any; just use these regular jars.”. So I feel clinic not very “urgent” care, and not very medically appropriate. the PA-C providers were great, though.
Good, straight-forward care for rapid COVID testing. Results in 10-15 minutes. MD note signed and ready as I walked out the door. Very efficient.
They are so busy. And the wait was long, however considering there was only one dr it is understandable. I would definitely go back and I think they give an excellent service. They are definitely needed and appreciated.Thank you for being there
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Scheduling the appointment was an easy process. Thank you.
If I could give zero ⭐️ I would!!! DO NOT GO HERE.Had a 11:00am (edit) APPOINTMENT checked in and filled out online form. App used to check in showed 3 people ahead (Edit) with appointments and 8 people in walk ins. I continued to wait over 3 hr before being called into a room and another hour in the room. Was told after waiting hour and a half after my scheduled appointment that I would get a call to get triaged but never got a call. Finally got a text to go into a room and waited another hour. It took a nurse 45 min to get vitals. I finally left, as I had another appointment I had to be at. According to the receptionist they only have 1 provider.I shouldn’t have to go to an ER to be treated for a minor illness that should only take 30 min to treat. This is the reason Holy Cross gets inundated with minor issues instead of being able to be a resource for EMERGENCIES!I definitely do Not recommend going here if you need to been see immediately. Witness a few people come in that should have been see ASAP (anaphylaxis, stitch, which they can not do here even though it states they can on website.) and was told that the wait time was 4+ hour.EDIT: so since my comment did receive a response I would like to clarify somethings. When I scheduled the “appointment “ I did so the day before. I went in and was told it was over a four hour wait. I asked if I make an appointment would I be see faster. Receptionist who was helping me begin to respond when a male receptionist/nurse jumped in and cut her off and stated yes I would be seen sooner. I stated “great when is the soonest appointment I can get” she told me the they had an availability for following day at 11am. Confirmed the “appointment” and asked, to confirm, will be seen with in the my scheduled appointment time around 11 am tomorrow. Knowing I was doing this on my lunch hour and had to get back to work within a certain time. The lady helping me started to speak and the male interrupted her again and stated yes I would be seen with in my scheduled appointment time. With in that conversation never was it mentioned that it was only a reservation it was called an appointment. That’s not a me misunderstanding something that’s a training/staffing issue, giving out wrong information issue. An because I am feeling a little passive aggressive I’ll leave a vocabulary lesson because good people shouldn’t be bamboozled by a bad company.Appointment (n) an arrangement to meet someone at a particular time and/or place.Reservation (n) the act of setting something aside for future use.
NextCare has become a doctors office and not an urgent care. I went to take my daughter to urgent care because she fainted. I was asked if she has an appointment and said no and I was told that we couldnt been seen because all the slots were filled. Dont call yourself an urgent care if your only doing appointments. I understand having some appointment times but dont feel up the whole day with appointments.I like how there so sorry for our experience but dont do anything to change it. Ive read the reviews back months and nothing has changed but they keep apologizing for peoples bad experiences instead change the situation.
Staff was kind and helpful. Its nice to have a place for medical needs that doesnt require an appt. and can usually see you right away.
Very very friendly, accommodating. Doctor was professional and discussed several options. Very confident and clear.
Always the utmost care and compassion. Excellent Covid practices, too. Thanks for everything!
I had a terrific experience. The staff were very kind and professional. I was seen right away, and the recommended treatment took care of my issue. I would definitely go back to NextCare.
Efficient & kind. Television in waiting room was a little loud, but better than akward silence & listening to ragged breathing, including mine. Doctor showed concern for more than immediate symptoms & was proactive in addressing the issue (BP alarmingly high).
Got turned away with severe and crippling back pain because my case wasnt severe enough to warrant a visit. They wouldnt even entertain seeing me or doing an evaluation whatsoever. Im disappointed that a medical provider would turn anyone way like this, I cant imagine how many other people they left in the weeds. Would not recommend
I hate this urgent care. Every single time I come I have to wait for a good two ours. This time I scheduled a day ahead and I still waited for an hour in a half. On top of that the nurse was rude. Besides that the receptionist was very sweet and patient. Never coming here again.
Came in with a knee injury that required stitches. No appt, probably waited just under an hour. I had anticipated the wait and brought a book to read in my car until I got my text message telling me what room to report to. The staff was very friendly and although they were clearly busy I felt attended to and well cared for.
Waited over an hour for the prescription to be called in to the pharmacy. The Prescription was finally ready close to two hours after being seen! Called to find out what the hold up was and couldn’t get a hold of anyone-all calls go to a call center in Arizona. This is too long of a wait for emergency medication and for someone who lives out of town!
Provider was great. Took time with my children and was thorough. However, making an appointment is pointless. It only holds your spot in the line of walk-ins. We had a scheduled appt for 12pm and were not called in until 1:30. Show up at 9am!
I bristle at all the electronic communication systems-usually-but they’re at the office system to tell you when to go where was flawless and helpful.John was great at listening to ALL my concerns and explained his solutions and process very well and was not rushed.
Very efficient and effectiveDr and reception girl was very considerate
The visit was very organized and timely. Dr Mike and Roxanne treated my issue in a professional, efficient, kindly manor. Great Urgent Care facility. 👍
Please do not make an appointment over the phone or online before you go to the urgent care clinic. It will not be honored. You will have to get in line behind all the people who were already there waiting.Today I went because I need a splint on my finger which I believe may be broken. I was told there would be an hour and a half wait. There were probably eight people waiting who arrived before me outside in the heat because the waiting room is closed. I have heart disease, cannot tolerate temperatures above 80° After an hour and a half I was getting woozy and felt like I was going to pass out. I went into the office to check and see if it was almost time for me to see the doctor. They said they didn’t know there was no way they could tell. They said it would least be an hour and a half possibly two more hours. The office staff was very polite and they aren’t to blame but when giving wait times, please be honest.By the time I left there were around 20 people waiting in their cars outside or in the hot sun in chairs. Several were elderly and several looked very ill. This is the only urgent care office in Taos. Since a new corporation has bought the company it’s even worse than before. I’ve never had to wait this long but as far as the capability of the physician‘s assistants, the treatment has never been accurate or helpful. I thought a splint on the finger would be pretty straightforward, hoping I could get that done today. It seems like the best alternative would be the ER at the hospital. I’m not sure what the problem is with this company but it’s pathetic. They should at least have some fans outside to prevent further illness due to heat.
Urgent care got me in as a walk-in when my primary care doctor could not and the other walk in clinic doesn’t see patients on Tuesday through Thursday. That’s ridiculous. Urgent care was perfect for my needs.
Made an appointment so no long wait to see doc. Friendly and professional. My prescription was ready promptly at Smiths Pharmacy. Feeling much better already.
***edit*** I wrote this review several years ago, before NextCare took it over. I actually decided to come edit it because the experience is so much different now. Long waits, rushed providers, poor customer service. I wish I could recommend this office but we avoid it as much as possible now.I have been to urgent care several times over the past several years and I have never had a bad experience. My primary care providers at Family Practice are almost impossible to get an appointment with, and I dislike their urgent care option because of exceptionally long waits - so when my family or I have an acute illness we tend to go to Taos Urgent Care. I dont think weve ever waited longer than an hour, and most of the time it is much less. Weve been treated for everything from strep throats, dehydration and high fever (in the case of my 11 month old), and even a broken tail bone. The staff has always been friendly, compassionate, and professional. I would recommend them to anyone.
Went very well very good Doctor explained everything.
Horrible experience! My husband possibly has pneumonia. We called to ensure we would be seen without an appointment and were assured we would be seen if we arrived prior to closing at 7:00pm. We arrived at 6:30pm and were refused service because they were ‘at capacity’. The website also states walk ins are accepted up until close of business which is a complete lie! Save yourself an extra headache and drive out of town to be seen!
Call center is incompetent. Will make an appointment that the facility will not perform. Tried to get a blood TB test that the call lady said they could do. Got there and they only referred me to the hospital after trying to convince me I needed a skin test first (you don’t they just wanted more money). The front desk staff is incompetent and doesn’t know what’s going on. They are also very rude even though they can’t answer basic questions. The woman who saw me kept getting confused as to what I needed. Make sure you know exactly what you need because they have the organizational, professional, and medical skills of a potato. One caveat was the PA agreed that the referral process was stupid and not needed.
Felt very well taken care of, professional. Yet that small country doctor feel you rarely see anymore. My attending doctor gave excellent diagnosis & treatment.
I was seen by both the P.A., Mike and his assistant Roxanne. They were prompt, courteous, and completely successful in my health needs, their diagnosis and expertise. I would highly recommend NextCare.
We were so grateful to find caring help at this clinic. We were on vacation and far from home when we both got sick. Everyone at the clinic was efficient, friendly, and caring and provided what we needed to get better.
The care I got was good and scheduling was easy, but they kept me waiting a LONG time, even though I had an appointment time.
The staff were very nice up until the doctor treated me. She was curt and rude, and seemed eager to get me out of her office as fast as possible. After visiting them I went immediately to the E.R. where they told me they were glad I had come in right away. I felt very dismissed and uncared for here. Will not be coming again.
Wait times are insane waited 3 hours.guy at front desk forgot he had my ID so I had to ask him for it. Went it for a checkup for swollen eye and runny nose and throat and the doctor said to wash eye with shampoo. Doctor Melissa Didn’t say anything about my sore throat and just got treated rude and weird.
All were very generous, kind , good listeners, explained diagnosis well. Appreciate you all. Thanks
Competent, caring, professional staff hindered by underfunding. As others have noted, this site is regularly utilized for all emergent health needs in a town offering few other options. They’re overburdened as a result yet maintain a high level of service. Hiring a 2nd PA would help support the demand and move patients through more efficiently. I was nevertheless happy with the time Nurse Celeste and PA J. Mahoney spent with me, answering questions and taking my symptoms seriously. Overall, a positive experience despite the physical trauma (MVA) that brought me there.
Got me in quickly. Fast exam and out the door to get medicine to start healing. Friendly staff.
The staff is very helpful. Very polite and ready to serve. Dr.was professional as was they beautiful lady doing the exrays very professional. 👍awesome staff.
We received excellent service today , I ment to ask her name young lady at reception check in was so helpful and actually went out of her way to find my correct Health Insurance information.
Extremely compassionate employees who really made me feel cared for.Sure it took a while, but I was prepared for that, as it should be expected with the volume theyre dealing with.
If giving negative stars was an option that is what I would give this urgent care. Upon arriving yesterday I walked In expecting what I have seen at urgent cares in the past, attentive employees and urgency. The staff simply stared at me until I finally said I need to be seen they prompted me to fill out online paper work which I did then to only have to go over with the young man working the desk. The young man at the front desk had not the slightest clue what he was doing. Finally another employee came and walked him through what to do. It took me at least 45 minutes for them to figure out my information and put in correctly, which I later found out they didn’t even do that. After being called into the back and describing what was wrong over and over again they took forever to get through my allergy list only to then mess it up. Following that Mike came in to check out my eye and was at first helpful and polite. He ordered in eye drops and Z pac. The following day after multiple complications Mike called me to discuss the miss communications between the urgent care and the pharmacy during this phone call he became extremely rude. He was urging me to go to an eye doctor later that afternoon, I said I have encountered this eye issue before multiple times, the prescription will do the job. I am also visiting New Mexico on a weekend trip and trying to avoid if necessary going to multiple different appointments for something that has been treated before in a much more efficient manner at other urgent cares. When I tried to tell him I would prefer to try the prescription I know works before making another appointment at an actual eye doctor he cut me off mid sentence and said “ Danielle could you please at least humor me and take the number for the eye doctor.” I was already completely taken back by the audacity of him to speak to a patient in that manner. When I began my follow up sentence in response to rudeness, he again cut me off and said “ok ok I get it you don’t want the number.” Again in extremely rude tone of voice. This is hands down the most unprofessional, inefficient urgent care I have ever been too. My friend who was with me had to go outside half way through waiting with me because of the incompatibility of the staff. The one star reviews on here already discussing the rude staff are 100% accurate. When I was waiting for my discharge paperwork a worker behind the plexi glass saw me looking over and went and told her other coworker that I was sitting there “staring at them.” as if I could not see and hear her whispering this to her coworker. In the past when I had the same issue with this eye I went to an urgent care who had me in and out and treated within 20 minutes. If you want to be miserable and continue to be in pain or sick this is place to go.
I visited Taos Urgent Care this week -- it was my third visit since they opened. I have a regular doctor in town, but often she does not have appointments available and cant see me right away. I am grateful that Urgent Care exists to provide immediate care when my own physician of sixteen years cannot.I cannot say enough good things about the staff. They are all unfailingly courteous and professional, warm and helpful. I have never had to wait more than a half an hour to be seen (often, I have to wait longer than this during a scheduled appointment with my own doctor!). When Ive been sick and in pain, I have always received compassionate and effective treatment.I highly recommend Taos Urgent Care. Their services are affordable, prompt, and professional.
John, the PA, was very efficient, kind and professional. I had to wait quite a while but the clinic was VERY busy. I appreciate the good care that I received.
Excellent care on Christmas Day! I tore a chunk of arm skin previous 3AM and came in for stitches. Turns out they could glue me back to normal. This is a great place!
Once I got into the room the delay was longer than it should’ve been but the nurse and Dr Mahony were super friendly and made me feel very comfortable.
Wow, so easy to book an appointment! Roxanne and Mike got me taken care of so quickly! Everything I needed and got me out in time to get to the pharmacy before it closed. A Taos Gem for sure!!!
My client who is pregnant and ill has been waiting in urgent care Taos NM since 11:30 a.m. and it is 3:45 now. She was stuck in a room at 3 p.m. to wait and she has seen No Doctor so far. It disrupted my being paid to caregive her this afternoon and her getting her laundry done. This was not okay. Their excuse was that she did not schedule online. How inconsiderate not to see a pregnant woman with an illness, right away!!! What is wrong with this establishment. May God judge it.
Great place. Everyone is very nice and helpful!
DO NOT make an appointment online because when you show up it turns out that every single person who walked in before your appointment will be seen before you. Totally misleading system that sets you back HOURS because walk ins have priority over scheduled appointments. Everyone working here was wonderful once I did get in. I give the staff themselves five stars. To be fair, I know that this urgent care just changed hands to Nextcare and it seems that the corporation has left them understaffed, overwhelmed, and forced to use defunct scheduling programs that just don’t work. Come on Nextcare, support our hard-working health professionals who are trying to do everything for everybody! Their jobs are hard enough without dealing with frustrated angry sick people who have had to stand outside waiting for hours!
Staff was friendly, helpful, kind, respectful. PA Meghan treated me w knowledge, kindness and care. I responded to her treatment as prescribed and started feeling better within 24 hours. Highly recommend.
2-4 hours Ive waited before.... it really is hard to wait when you dont feel good....but theres not much options in taos! other than that staff is amazing... really do appreciate them😇
Huge thank you to the staff at Taos Urgent Care. After taking a spill on my mountain bike in Angel Fire, the medic crew highly recommended Taos Urgent Care, and I can see why. Exceptional staff and exceptional work. Ill be back on my bike in no time, and will be flying down the Angel Fire Bike Park trails......with more pads this time of course....hopefully I never see you guys again.....but if I do.....I know Ill be in good hands......thanks so much guys!
Very professional and courteous staff. The $135 fee (if you are without insurance) included my medicine, too. Got a script for something they dont have, to fill when my insurance kicks in next month. Highly recommend. Wait wasnt long, either.
Provider John M and staff were friendly and professionally very helpful. Appointment and walk-in times quite limited with only one provider on site. Get there early!
Very flexible system, waited at home for my turn, the only 5 minute wait in the consult room. Staff was friendly and patient. Very reassuring experience all around!
Just don’t. Waited 3 hours only to feel rushed when seen by doctor. Sent me on my way, told me to go ahead and pick up meds at desired pharmacy and was told the order had not been received. WHICH WAS NEVER SENT, it’s now the following day and it still was never sent. Never again!
My visit to urge t care, was provided with professionalism...frome the front desk to the intermediate nurse, n Dr.M. Belles went right to my needs ....thank u Dr.n staff...
Whats the point of having a urgent care if u need appointment. If want to go the hospital u will wait for hours, you can go to santa fe get checked and make it back back before u even get a room here . Sad to sayGet it together
Yes, it requires patience, but it is worth the wait. They were thorough and persistent to address our concerns. We felt welcomed and cared for.
Worst service ever , receptionist, Doctors very rude and unprofessional!!
Nurse Mike great. I had my worst medical experience with Dr. MahonyCame in with severe cough and he didn’t do an examination severe cough and he didn’t even listen to my chest. Treated me horrible said he couldn’t help me without knowing what was wrong.
I took my friend in to get checked and the doctor told her that he only had five minutes with each patient and that he didn’t have time to help her because the care she needed would take longer than five minutes so she should go to the ER instead. This was after a five hour wait and she still got charged 100 dollars for nothing I will never return to your Facility and neither will my family I am so disappointed!
On vacation and our little one spiked a high fever. We had to wait over an hour for our one-year old to be seen. (Not really their fault. Only one urgent care in all of Taos?)However, we received great service from the doctor who went above and beyond to help us with all of our questions on how to take care of our one-year old with the flu. We called in multiple times after our visit and the doctor answered all of our questions and helped us with how to get the fever down. So very grateful!
Came in for CDL exam-very fast and complete!
Was skiing at Angel Fire with family, and fell with the majority of impact on my shoulder. Went to the first aid center at Angel Fire and Taus Urgent Care was highly recommended.Dreading spending half a day of vacation driving and in urgent care, we drove to Taus.So very thankful Taus urgent Care was recommended. Was seen, X-rayed, my humerus fracture treated within an hour. Wonderful experience! Also filled a prescription at Smiths, and received the same amazing service.Highly recommend Taus Urgent Care.
We love our Taos Nextcare! The Dr/np Mike is always awesome and educates on our kids needs as well as all the staff. Thanks for always being so professional and kind.
Took my 15 year old here to have a laceration repaired. She was very scared and had a ton of anxiety. Staff were not compassionate and would not let 1 parent in with minor patient. I work in health care and understand the need for COVID safety. However every office allows 1 parent with minors. The person at the door checking people in was also very rude. We choose to leave and go to the hospital for care. Would not recommend this urgent care
Terrible experience. The physician assistant prescribed antibiotics in which I told her would not work because they hadnt in the past. I know my body and what works yet she refused to listen. She prescribed antibiotics that work for her body. She was very rude and three days later I still have the infection and she refuses to prescribe the correct antibiotics for my infection. Very cold uncompassionate care. Do yourself a favor and go to the ER.
They wrote a prescription in the wrong name. The pharmacy couldn’t fill it so I went back the next morning to have them correct it and they didn’t actually send it so I went from the pharmacy back to urgent care and got a paper copy. By the time I got back to the pharmacy they had sent it electronically again but it was once again in the wrong name. Not to mention the receptionist weren’t very nice and acted like it was no big deal that they had messed up my prescription. I think they should give me my money back after all the headache they caused.
I was just there today and was so impressed with this place and their staff that I had to write about them. The place was clean and bright, my wait was minimal, the staff and Dr. Beth Sanchez treated me kindly with respect and diagnosed my problem and took care of me thoroughly. They took my insurance even though I am from California and I am so pleased that they are there for all of us. Taos is lucky to have such a place.
I had a severe migraine while visiting family in Taos, and this urgent care took care of me with so much kindness, concern, and efficiency. I feel bad I cannot remember the providers name!! She was so good. Thank you so much Taos Urgent Care!! I would not hesitate to see you again, if I am in the area. I do hope I don’t have another severe migraine though!
Advertise walk-in appointments all day long, but we showed up at 9:02 on a Saturday after driving an hour for a 9:00 opening and were told we wouldnt be seen until 1:30.
I was seen within a few minutes of my appointment time. The PA made sure that I fully understood his diagnosis, the drugs he was prescribing and why.
I highly Recommend coming to the Urgent Care (Next Care) in Taos, NM ... Very Professional and Helps out in any way they can... I have been pleased everytime I have brought myself, kids, and husband here... Thank you Next Care for the amazing jobs you all do!!!
I was treated for a dog bite on April 30th. This little clinic in Taos is top notch. Staff and medics provider couldn’t have been better.
Went to NextCare because I had what I thought was shingles. I called my local doc office and they scheduled me for a tele conference with a PA for 6 days later. They reconfirmed they could not even look at me and there were no appts open until the one on Tues.Decided on Nextcare. Waited in person at Next Care for close to 2 hour, but once I got in PA took one look and confirmed my guess. The PA Frederick asked a series of questions, told me I needed an anti viral prescription and had me leaving feeling pretty good that indeed I did not have a dire life threatening condition that I had been imagining from the onset of substantial pain.Today I am grateful that NextCare exists in our town. Yes you have to wait. But wait 6 days to see a PA at a docs office? Get real! Times have changed and you have to wait everywhere.
I have been to Urgent Care 3 times, and have had 3 great experiences. The staff are great, competent, and quick. Much better than the other walk in clinics in town. I am grateful to have this option.
My appointment was at 9:30 and I was done and finished at 10:30. The staff was excellent. Walk ins were given apts in late afternoon as available.
Over all great experience. The doctor on site was professional and listened to our needs. Wait was longer than normal, but this is a tourist town and it’s to be expected.
The website said they were taking walkins but when I arrived the front desk said they were fully booked. They saw me anyway. They say they arent really a walkin clinic.
All of the staff and the doctor are very attentive and understanding. I was in and out of there, they understood what I was asking and she just wanted to help. Unfortunately this is not the norm for most urgent care/hospital visits in other states. Thank you so much!
Went over there in April 2017, because emergency room at holy cross wouldn’t see me, I needed medication desperately, meet with JUDITH LOCKWOOD NP , who after a lengthy discussion about my condition, prescribed the needed meds, She is absolutely a true professional! May good bless her and keep her with us for a long time!!! Thanks!
I just moved to taos and am having to wait tell August to see my new primary care provider. So Ive been being seen by the doctors here. The doctors and staff have been do kind and helpfull to me. I didnt know when I moved that I was having a lot of health issues problems tell the day I moved. They are helping me, by referring me to get blood test done amoung other testing to find out whats causing my problems. I didnt have to wait long, and other times I didnt have to go in at all they just had me pick up the testing referral sheet and go to the lab at the hospital. And they have been in constant contact with me informing me of what I should do next, or what I shouldnt have to worry about. I am glad I found this place, because they truthfully are so much longer then the doc I had to see in the ER. And they open late, and if there is a long waiting list, they give you an estimated time it would take to see you, so you can leave and come back. Im very happy with the service Ive had here so far.
Got right in, both nurse and doctor were very helpful, so glad they were there when I needed help.
Very proffesional very friendly people Awsome
I fell while hiking with my 35 lbs toddler strapped on my back. My thumbs were tucked up in the straps trying to keep the weight up off my shoulders. I fell forward, slamming my nose on a rock. Went to Taos Urgent care to attention. The NP, Mary, was awesome! She took the time to stitch my nose up w precision and care. You can barely see my scar. I would highly recommend Taos Urgent care if you need urgent care. The staff there was courtesy and the wait was not too long. Thanks Taos Urgent care!!!
Fantastic job. Anticipate the wait but know that this is the only urgent care in taos and they are doing their best
Taos Nextcare was super fast, caring and responsive. Billing was easy. Thanks!
Mike and the staff were super helpful and kind. GREAT experience!
Was out of state staying in Red River when our 3 yr old got sick. No place was open so we came to Taos and were treated quickly and professionally. Great staff, appreciate everything they did for our daughter! Would definitely recommend!
I was seen very quickly, all of the staff were kind and courteous. The doctor I saw was able to help me and got me to the quickest pharmacy. Wish the urgent care in my town were this good
Visiting from out of state. System was easy, fast and efficient. Everyone was very friendly and service was fast.
After a fall, the doctor cleaned my knee up and did X-rays. The nurse and doctor were both extremely compassionate and helpful
The PA was okay, he confirmed what I already knew. The downfall is for being an urgent care place, I had to make an appointment for the following and wait in my car for half hour before getting a text to go into an exam room where I waited another half hour. It is what it is if you want to pay a copay and not an ER visit.
Was seen with in 10 minutes of my appointment which was awesome. The medical staff were fast, friendly and professional
The Assistant Dr (I’m sorry I forgot his name) was very knowledgeable, thorough, helpful and caring! Taos Urgent Care
Reasonably fast, although it could have been the day or time. Even with insurance it cost $40. Quick diagnosis and discharge, worked well.
Excellent care. They told me they try to Have patients in and out within an hour. I didn’t feel like my provider rushed at all and I was out in 40 minutes.
First day in Taos and I fell at 2:15. By 2:35 I had checked in and had ice on my ankle. By 3:30 I had been x-Rayed and fitted with a boot for my breaks and Erika Lucero had arranged for me to rent a wheelchair. By 4:00 we parked in the plaza and went shopping. Thank you one and all for the wonderful care.Jean
You need an appointment or theyll turn you away - even if youre an 88-year-old person bleeding profusely. No care or consideration at all. Shame on them.
Fast, easy, friendly very convenient. Roxanne, Dr. Bella’s and the gal at registration were helpful and friendly. Thank you
Hello to all of those in urgent need of quality attentive care My name Is Richard Romero I was in the Urgent care center on Sunday the 5th of October at which time I requested to be seen for a very urgent matter. I was seen by a Lady Doctor by the name of Lisa Bushnell, CFNP I had shown her my documents from my visit to the Holy Cross Hospital Taos NM, she did nothing more than briefly glance at my documents and medication list and the instructions to seek health care rep to provide me with the necessary medications and provide further follow up recommendations, all she did was look at my tongue and into one ear and then nervously told me that she would not prescribe the much needed medications as per the ER Doctors instructions, she did not provide one bit of advice or any alternative, I had a very serious spinal situation and ended up at the Neuro Surgery and Science clinic in Albuquerque NM less than 24 hours later. I would not recommend this facility to any person for any reason, if you love yourself and are concerned for your immediate health needs please seek another facility. I have never received more careless service from anywhere that I have ever been unfortunate enough to have to rely upon. I will be filing a formal complaint and will refuse to pay for the quack service I received. signed Lucky to still be walking Richard Romero Taos NM
Very short wait and quick diagnosis. Everyone is professional and courteous
I rushed my 18 month son to urgent care on Friday. I got there at 6:30, the sign and Web site said they close at 7:00. Once I arived at 6:30 they where already closed. I guess the hundreds of thousands of dollars they make off us is so good they cant commit to their hours,so people will suffer instead.
These guys are always efficient and communicative. I scheduled and completed my paperwork online and that made the process much faster.
We could not reach NextCare by phone, so we drove 35 miles to their location. They were closed due to unforeseen circumstance. Please check back at 12 pm. It was already 1 pm, so we waited until 2:15, when a worker opened the door. When asked if they were open, she said No. and they probably wont be back today.
Despite their website, NextCare cannot administer stitches for a minor laceration. Instead, NextCare refers you to the hospital ER which is costly and an unnecessary drain on hospital resources. I was advised by NextCare staff that the referral was mandated by upper management which is inexcusable. I suggest going to a different urgent care even if it requires travel outside Taos as it will be quicker and less aggravating.
Improvements needed on everything except for the fitting of knee apparatus.
Easy entrance process. All the staff is currently excellent. Especially The Dr. The only strange thing is not being able to call and speak with front desk.
This was one of best medical experiences I have had in US or UK. Fast, professional, great results!
Quick, given public setting. Tests done ASAP, results fast. Durn, I had Covid!
Waited close to 4 hours to be told they could not treat my daughter do age and injury. Then I had to wait in line to get ID and insurance card back. Went to the ER instead.
Awesome bedside manner!Great front office!Thank you!
Very efficient and kind staff. Best urgent care visit I have ever had.
The best staff and knowledge that I have experienced. Not much staff, but definitely more knowledge than the local hospital.
Excellent service. The PA Mike was great very thorough and answers all my questions.
My son was not seen for over 3 hours. I think they saw other people before him even though he was in line. It’s not ok when he has a possibility of broken bones and other people are here for tests only. There should be priority given to certain situations.
Very good receptionist. Very helpful and kind. Doctor was very helpful and kind as well.
Short wait turned into very long wait even with a specific time to be in seen. It was fine and worth staying. I nearly left.
The new App needs done work to iron out glitches. The App check in process is a great way to handle this operation. Ver good and helpful personnel.
Great staff, compassionate and reassuring care. Urgent Care is an invaluable Taos resource.
Had a 11:00 am appointment, saw the doctor at 11:15, every one working was kind and professional.
The billing practices are unclear and even a bit deceptive. I was told my bill wouldnt exceed $200, but it was well above that. When I complained over the phone, the woman I spoke with wasnt interested in helping or investigating on my behalf, only taking my payment over the phone.
My husband found the whole experience very helpful and informative. He was extremely pleased and relieved.
People who work there are really nice and helpful.
Very good care. Excellent doctor and nurses and receptionist. Clean. Would highly recommend.
Made me a walk in appt. Great staff, timely, caring. Everything explained. In andout quickly
Fast !!Dr was more understanding and responsive than my PCP back home.
Great clinic. Was able to get an appointment online and great service same day.
