Sterling Medical Center & Urgent Care

I came here for the weight loss medication phentermine, which they agreed to prescribe to me like on 6 different times that I came in to their office. Then, I recently came in to ask for a refill, to which a new doctor, Dr. Mohamed Bazzay, or whatever, chuckled at me about how I answered I dont have any physical health issues.... I said that I literally dont and he tells me I never mentioned about my lithium before (which yes I had actually mentioned that to every doctor before and they wrote the phentermine without saying any interactions occur) Lithium has a dangerous interaction between phentermine and there is no way I can prescribe that to you to risk Serotonin Syndrome! I told him I had never heard about there ever being an interaction in all the (about 12) previous refills/doctor visits while still telling that I was taking it! I also told him I had let this office and the previous prescribing doctors know, that I had always been on lithium and that no one ever brought this dangerous interaction up before all the time knowing I was taking lithium...He says like If I am to do right by you I will watch out for your health and not prescribe it! Lol so I already did call this place before driving 2.5 hrs here for the refill and they explain to me it was an extremely high chance I would be granted the refill, I get here and this doctor has this to say? Lol thanks for terrible (very biased/racists even) seeming hateful behavior/ treatment from Dr. Mohammed B! The doctor seemed like he was jealous of me in weird ways and just treated me with contempt the whole office visit it was pathetic...Ill never come here again dude is a baby in a mana body...lol 👍👍👍

Went there for 15+ years. Sad to see what it has come to now. New owners & doctors. No real connection with patients. Do not put patients needs first more concerned with what they can bill insurance for. Pushing their own pharmacy, tests I am not scheduled for yet, adding medications before they receive my bloodwork back, total lack of listening to patient or explanation of what they are doing. Never saw the doctor!! Left after all these years for a new doctor! Sad they have changed so much and not for the better. Watch out for their billing too, over charge/ double charges. Would give zero stars if I could!

This is the best and fastest urgent care I have ever been to. I went there because my finger was swollen and had cuts that burned throughout due to using harsh chemicals without wearing appropriate gloves for almost two months. Dr. Brenda and her pre-med student were very caring and passionate during the visit and gave me an ointment to use. Now, after using that once a day for a week, my finger is way better, and I can use it without having any cuts or feeling any burns. Thank you for your outstanding service.

I was in town from Illinois and was seen for an eye infection. The staff and doctors were incredibly kind and compassionate. I was in and out of there in record time and the doctor told me to call him if I had any concerns and had a back up plan if this first plan didn’t work. Wish all urgent care were like this!

Very unpleasant experience when I walked in nobody spoke to me, they also sat and laughed at the front desk talking about personal things. The doctor was not really helpful she seemed to rush everything and was not very welcoming. I felt like I was bothering them walking in to be seen. I’m extremely sick and left work early was hoping I got helped. I would not come back again

The front desk staff is great! Theyve always been very helpful when Ive called. However, since Dr Ali has left, the Drs have gone downhill. My son has been battling a bad sinus infection for almost a month and has been coughing so hard hes literally vomiting, and they will not perscribe him anything. They have also done that to me as well! I have had a cough that has literally made me cough up blood and they will not prescribe anything. What good are you as a dr if you are going to tell everyone to take over the counter medicine that weve all been taking and its not working?????Update 12/26/2023I just took my son to a different dr after seeing the Drs here 3 times for the same thing, and my son has strep throat and an ear infection so bad that could have caused mastitis in his ear. I will never go back to these drs.

Worst experience of my life. Receptionist was rude ,the medical assistant was rude. They drew my blood before I ever saw the doctor, that was my first time in the office. NP tried to suggest 3 different types of pills for me. Time for an EKG. All stickered up and MA leaves and NEVER comes back. I got up and left. Then the NP sent a referral for therapy for me and when the therapist called me she told me they dont take my insurance. So theyre referring you to people who dont take your insurance? That place was a total joke. I do not recommend you go there

The staff along with the Doctors are always pleasant and happy. There’s practically no waiting time to see the Doctor when you check in and that’s a bonus for me since I live 2 hours away from the office. They’re also very easy to talk to and always have the time to answer questions and not feeling rushed to get in and out of there. All of these reasons are why I love Sterling Medical!

I am so glad I was referred here by another urgent care. I was calling around looking for somewhere that would look at my 5mon old daughter and another place told me to call here. I quickly brought myself and my daughter here and we were there less than an hour, both of us seen and everyone there to help should my baby start to fuss. Not that this place is far from me, but I have others closer, and I would gladly drive the extra mile for this kind of customer care. Thank you so much everyone who helped me and my baby girl today!

Dr. Ali Berro is a good, and thorough doctor!I have no complaints about him, and he has always went above and beyond, to make sure I was the appropriate care.This doctors office is not only good, they are reasonably fast.I have only had a couple scheduling issues, but that had nothing to do with the care that I had received.I recently moved 45 minutes away from this urgent care, and I am soo pleased with his office, that I make the 45 minute trip every month, instead of finding a closer doctor to my new house. Now that should tell you something…. 😊I was recommended to this urgent care by a friend, and now I will definitely recommend this place to you!

The office staff is great. The doctors are quick, but efficient. The entire staff makes you feel good about being there. As a patient who also works in Healthcare I understand both sides and they handle each case with patience and integrity.

Sterling Medical was not receptive to what I was asking for. They debated with me on certain test. Two women doctors came into the room asked me a couple of questions and told me to take ibuprofen and sent me home. I scheduled an appointment for my primary obgyn and they figured out the problem and found a solution. If you want inaccurate information and don’t want to be listened to go to Sterling Medical. The two women at the front desk were nice though. That’s the only reason why I gave one star.Edit to the response from owner: Your doctors did not advise me to schedule or follow up with my primary care physician or obgyn, and if I would have taken your Doctors medical advise which was to take ibuprofen my condition would have worsen. If you think that the advise that was given to me from your doctors was great then you need to rethink and rehire new doctors that examine patients and have empathy. Thank you.

Spectacular urgent care. Everyone is super, dependable, and listens to the needs of the patient. I traveled a 5000 round trip just to go to this wonderful clinic that I have found no other urgent care that has come close. Thank you Ali and your wonderful staff.

All the doctors, the PA’s & the entire staff are just fantastic, they’re good down to earth people that actually care to help you. The whole staff knows their jobs & business very well. The facilities are always very clean and spotless. I’ve been going here for over 20 years. So If you’re looking for a smart and caring Dr. this is the place to go. I highly recommend this urgent care facility.

I came to Sterling Medical Center with concerns of hair loss. Provider Faith recommended PRP injections. Faith was very thorough in explaining the process and how the injections work to lessen hair loss. I had my first treatment, to my surprise it was simple, fast and pain free. I will definitely be returning for further treatments.

I appreciated the prompt attention I received and that both doctors attended to me to be sure I got the right treatment. The receptionist was nice enough, but she appeared to be a bit out of it. It took four attempts to get my proper pharmacy in their system and when I went to pick up my prescription, the pharmacist could not locate it - meaning it was not in the correct data base. Im wondering if she was paying attention or had her mind elsewhere. So, thumbs up for the physicians, thumbs down for the receptionist.

This Urgent care use to be the best around??? Been going here over 20 years... they sent my son packing with an antibiotic and a oh yes thats infected He was in the hospital the next day septic. Will never return as this wasnt the first bad thing to happen!

I have been to this clinic twice and I was seen twice by Dr. Ali, each time a different injury. The Dr was not dismissive of my pain, his staff was very thorough with getting me checked in and out and Dr. Ali also made sure to follow up with my results. I work nearby this urgent care so I came here out of convenience but I would go out of my way to be seen here if I need to use urgent care.

The lady on the phone was so rude, they called me after I made an appointment on zocdoc and she was so rude about the appointment that I set up (which this was my first time so I wasn’t sure how the process worked) she was so rude I just canceled. Unbelievable

They are fantastic! The ladies at the front desk are extremely kind and understanding...and I mean ALL of them. Some days theres longer wait than others but its like this anywhere you go. The Dr.s are just as amazing as the front desk ladies. Dr. Smith is my Doctor, he listens to me and makes my time MY TIME. My wife and I went today (Oct 12, 2021) for a PCR test for traveling. We stayed in our car and the technician came out to do the swab. A very nice and professional technician. We got our results back today at 7pm. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone needing a PCR test for travel. Reliable and professional :)

The receptionists are the best, I recently had to switch doctors, I went back to sterling today because I have a cold, and I was reminded how much better this dr is than all the other ones. Dr. Yim has helped me out immensely, I almost see these people as my friends! Very welcoming and love that they actually remember you.

Now here is where you want to go if youre looking to get up close and personal with your doctor rather than just be a patient. I was severely addicted to opiates and headed for the grave until I met Dr. Ali Berro and Dr Saad as well. Because of you my life has changed and now I focus on the most important thing in my life, and thats my son!

I love this place. This is actually where i go for my family doctor now. Dr. Smith, Dr. Yim, and Dr. Chang have helped me so many times, even my boyfriend was treated there and the problem was solved. They are so nice and considerate, the staff is always trying to make sure everything goes smoothly and quickly, and its always nice and clean. Great place to go not only for an emergency, but also as a family doctor, too.

I feel good about my health concerns at Sterling Medical. I can always get an appointment quickly including same day. Today was a same day appointment from the I called until I checked out was a total of 30 minutes.

Dr Ali Berro is our family doctor. Very nice and respectful guy. Always answers my questions, sends meds to the pharmacy whenever my parents or I run out. Staff are also very nice and helpful. Huge change in office environment since Dr. Ali took in charge.

The doctor was great, but the medical assistants are not. The medical assistant on the phone with me was so rude, I had to ask to talk to someone else because she was so unwilling to help or answer questions. When I came in and got a shot, the assistant couldnt get all the shot to go in me for some reason. So instead of giving me the rest, she shrugged and said that should be enough...only a third of the shot went in..I do not recommend this place and will not be returning.

I have been looking for a good family Doctor and/or Certified Family Nurse Practitioner for years to help me with my depression, anxiety, & severe panic attacks. For the longest time I had a hard time holding down a stable job or even doing things that seem easy to everyone else like grocery shopping or just being in public. I went from doctors office to doctors office, but still not getting better & feeling like no one cared to take the time to actually listen to me or even believe me when I would express what I was going through. I found it terribly hard to lead a normal day to day life. After years of suffering I was referred to Sterling Medical Center and Urgent Care & was able to see Dr. Ali Berro right away. My life started to change for the better as I had finally found someone that actually cared about me as a patient & not just another random person to make money off of, but really took the time to listen & understand me & do everything he could to help me get better. Today I can finally say I am holding down a wonderful job, with the help of Dr. Berro & am able to lead a normal life without the daily depression, anxiety, & panic attacks to where I can actually enjoy my life again after almost completely giving up hope.I cant thank Ali Berro enough for being so kind, so patient, and so willing to sit & listen to me no matter how long it took. He is so friendly & has a way about him that made me feel so comfortable, not judged, & that I was in good hands right from my first appointment. He is the first medical provider that actually really cared about my well being & wanted to help me get better & not just give me medication & send me on my way. We worked together until we found something that helped me because he always took the time to listen to any concerns I had. Im so happy to finally have quality of life again instead of feeling like there was no help for me.To Ali Berro, I hope you know how grateful I am for everything youve done to help me. The examination was thorough and felt like I️ was in good hands. I️ was able to explain myself without being interrupted or under assumption of false symptoms. Carol, Hailey and the rest of the staff were great. I️ recommend Sterling Medical.

Horrible service. The woman at the front counter is very rude and the staff also had one of their kids screaming the entire time. Patients who had appointments were still not brought back an hour after the time the appointment was scheduled for. They said the doctor said not to bring anyone back because he’s 3 patients behind. There’s no bathroom access and you can’t even have a water in the waiting room which can be horrible for a patient that can’t stop coughing. Will never go back. If I could give no stars I would.

Very friendly staff love coming here we had only one bad experience but we all have an off day once in a while! Overall all other visits are wonderful and love the Doctors staff nurse practitioners

I walked into this place with a severe back problem. The doctor looked at me for 5 minutes told me to bend up and down and all around and gave me a prescription for naproxen which only had 14 pills in the script. I took 1 and felt absolutely nothing. The pain is still there so I called back and they were rude to me and treated me like a drug addict. I am still in severe amounts of pain and they charged my account. Now I have to call my insurance company and report them. I am truly unhappy with the service I got here and will never return. I dont recommend this place for anyone. Horrible treatment and a doctor who prescribes you ibuprofin for severe back pains.

I was pretty underwhelmed with my visit to Sterling Medical Center. Front desk staff were not wearing masks and were dressed in jeans and hoodies. The drinking fountain in the lobby looked clogged, as if a pint of milk had sat and evaporated into a funky crust.I had booked an appointment for a couple immunizations and a physical. I got the immunizations; but was told I would need to book a separate appointment for a full physical. When I booked my first appointment, I was told that I would be seen by Dr. Ali Berro. However, Dr. Berro did not see me. I was seen by a PA. The PA was friendly and attentive. Thats why Id give the place two stars instead of one.

Doctor Berro is the best doc in Macomb/Oakland county area hands down!!((I had switched from Dr. Gammons, Warren office, to Sterling Medical. BEST CHOICE I COULD HAVE EVER MADE! Gammons is a scamming,circus compared to Sterling!!!)) Their office in Sterling Heights is very professional, clean & actually have people working there that care about the patients!! Go figure. If youre looking for a great Doctor I recommend Sterling medical. MY HAND TO GOD, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!! 🥰😍

I had an appointment yesterday with dr. Ali Ive been going there for a while hes amazing kind and very kind hes also very smart he listens to every single word I say does not run in the room and run out of the room he spends as much time with you as you need and he is truly amazing so is his staff try him you wont be sorry you will never go anywhere else

Got Covid tested here. Long line, I understand because of the season we are in. I’ve called three days in a row and no one either picks up nor calls me back. Haven’t received any news on my test while I have work pending on my results. How do you not have someone answering phone calls? Ridiculous.

I had a great experience at Sterling. I actually drive 40 minutes because of how efficient and smooth the process is. Ali and the staff are great, and I felt comfortable the whole time. Great job.

Was Having covid symptoms last week went in to the clinic had my tests done . The Doc was very attentive and was very helpful and informative gave me my results very quick and walked me thru the steps for recovering. Great clean welcoming clinic

Absolutely unprofessional. They actually dropped me because of a complaint that i cursed...well who wouldnt be upset...i waited 9 days for my medication...instead of caring and understanding...they tossed me aside when i needed care the most. No heart at all. Im just glad i found a doctor who did care and i am still alive and thankful

I checked in the this urgent care at 1:11 to get a rapid covid test. And here it’s 2:00 and noons has came to give me my tested. Ask the young lady what was taking so long go no response from her. And mind u there is no one in this parking lot needless to say I won’t be going back.

I love this medical center. I drive 45 minutes out of my way just to come here. Always provide me with great service and care. Thank you for being a medical center that truly cares about it’s patients!

I really appreciated that I didnt have to expose an entire waiting room to whatever I have. I was seen promptly and was negative for Covid. Thank you for a pleasant experience when I was feeling very under the weather.

(I see Dr. Yim as my primary care physician was not for Urgent Care visit)The only reason I gave this place 2 stars and not 1 is because of Doctor Smith who actually listens to you and will take time with you and will treat what ails you.Dr. Yim does not listen to you, will completely ignore and dismiss you if its about anything he is uncomfortable with.He also blatantly lied about why he wouldnt treat me for a certain condition that he had previously treated me for, under the same conditions that he says he cant treat me for now. He was very rude to me even as I am crying from losing my mother unexpectedly very recently. He also did not offer any other advice or alternative form of care. He left me optionless and walked away without a care for my well-being.I was only asking for a short term solution to keep my head above water during a CRISIS until I could get into to a specialist. Im afraid now Ill drown! Dr. Yim totally failed me and I dont know why I expected anything different from him.Dr. Chang is also the same way. Very rude and will not listen to you and will make that very clear to you.I will DEFINITELY be transferring to another office where a patients needs are addressed and important, where they consider the circumstances and treat on a patient by patient basis. Where a doctor will listen to you and take the time to explain things to you and do whats BEST for his/her patient not just himself/herself.If you want to be OVER prescribed anti-biotics and get a zpak for a cold this is the place for you!Im extremely disappointed which is a major understatement.The nurses are very kind and you can get in quickly, I would recommend seeing Dr. Smith ONLY.

What a horseless place. I called and was told that they do COVID tests until 3pm, I drove all the way from Macomb and got there at 2:20pm to be told that they don’t do testing after 2pm. I will never ever use this place again and I will make sure all of my friends and family are aware of this.

Beloved Dr Brent Smith passed away 8/29/18. He was one of the most caring, personable doctors Ive had the pleasure to meet. He will be dearly missed!!

Been using them for years. Excellent all around service. Show up at 9 and theyll take you right in. Also, they are a family practice copay for me, which is half as much as urgent care.

If I can give this urgent care ZERO stars, I would!! I went to this urgent care yesterday and the doctor prescribed me CIPRO for a simple bacterial infection (Z pack did not work). CIPRO is used to treat kidney infections and urinary tract infections and should not be used as a first line defense against bacterial infections (according to some pharmacists within my family). CIPRO also doubles, sometimes TRIPLES your risk of rupturing a tendon or muscle. THE DOCTOR THERE IS NOT A REAL DOCTOR. And when I called to simply change my antibiotic, because one of my hobbies is lifting heavy weights and being physically active at the gym, the receptionists were extremely rude, and the doctor was not willing to make the change. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!

Very poor service. Long wait time. In fact they called every single person that came in after us before us ,and we had our 2 little ones ages 2 and 4 who were the ones that were sick. The last time we were here it was the same service. If your sick think of somewhere else to go. I would not recommend them to nobody

Dr. Smith was such a great Dr. I will say though that it wasnt fair of him to be handing out opiods like candy and then killing himself, leaving a lot of addicted people sick and unable to get help. Dr. Yim is a know it all jerk who doesnt care about his patients. He is picking and choosing who he will continue to give the opiods to. I went in last week with a legit injury, havent had any narcotic prescriptions from them since Feb....and now its Dec...and he wouldnt even give me something for the pain for even a week. He seems shady and unethical.

Nice and clean clinic professionals all the way around the board wait time very reasonable for even a saturday very clear and go over all your medical history and giving you a chance to express your own concerns with them respectful and cool as people

The office staff may be a little rough but the doctors are top notch, they care and go the extra mile to make sure all bases are covered. They are detailed oriented and always take the time to explain everything to you.

Ive was seeing Dr. Chang (Weng) for almost a year for opiate addiction. I recently found out I was pregnant. When I informed Dr. Chang of my pregnancy, she quit prescribing the medications Ive been taking for almost a year. I did my research and talk to other Doctors that said subutex has not one study showing that it causes harm to unborn babies or even after the baby is born. If anything her taking me off the medication could have cause me to miscarry. Shame on you Dr. Chang!! I wish I could have gave this place no stars!!

My first visit to Sterling Medical Center was on the phone , And as i was talking to Dr,Ali he could tell my breathing was really bad, He called in some medicine to my Pharmacy , And said if my breathing was still bad in the morning to go to emergency hospital , I was very scared now, And went and picked up the medicine he called in, I took my first doss of the medicine he gave me , The next day i was breathing 90% better no hospital thanks to Dr,Ali , The best Doctor on the planet , He has done much more , My son has anxiety and was in his room for 5 years , He is a great kid i love him so much , Everyone likes my son Paul , And would ask me why he was sleeping in his room all the time , And some how i found Stirling medical center , First time he seen Dr,ali Berro He has been back with his father , Dr,Ali fixed him right away , For 5 years this has been going on , Dr,Ali is a Godsend , If you or your friend is in need of Doctor go to Sterling medical center ask for Dr,Ali , #1 Doctor in Michigan , His staff is Great none better They help you with all your needs and have been working there a longtime , May God bless Sterling Medical Center and Dr,Ali and there staff as well, Thanks to Google for having a feed back page to share my great experience .

I thought my visit to the doctor was very thorough and he answered all my questions and its going to stay on top of my case which makes me very happy

They wanted me to get covid tested for a procedure coming up. And you have to wait in the urgent Care with people that have possibly covid. I have to get a procedure done because I have health issues it doesnt make sense to send me to a place where I could possibly get covid.

I would definitely recommend this office. The staff and Doctor were very kind and professional, and they get you in and out. Very satisfied!

Was a patient of doctor smith for over a year as my primary doctor was on pain med and blood pressure and cholesterol meds and when he died they said they no longer do pain management but a friend who told me about how good they were told me he still gets his pain meds dont understand why Im being treated this way Im not a druggie Im 55 years old never had any problem with drugs just trying to go to work and do my job with as little pain as possible

This place is very unprofessional. Since when does the patient have to do the work of the receptionist to get a pre authorization. Amanda us very mean and clerly unhappy with her job. Will never return. Do not go here.

Main doctor Ali left, the staff is terrible they will talk down to you and make you feel like a child, doc didn’t even wanna hear about my issues.

I love this place!! Ali is absolutely amazing and truly cares!! All the staff are such hard workers!! They have done such a great job turning the office around on a good note!!

Doctor left did not let anyone know. Office staff made no effort to inform patients.now I need a script refill and Im told I cant get anything without a face to face with the new doctor. They want me to wait 3 weeks just to see the new doctor. Before I can get my script filled.

The worst place to get medical treatment dont go hear that dont help with anything dont waste your time this place has really went down hill since Dr Allie left

My son cut his finger at school, needed stitches. Staff was great, had him in and out within 40 mins.

Fast appointment, friendly staff, clean waiting room and a very short wait, Dr. Yim takes the time to listen to my concerns and really engages me in the process of keeping me healthy

Please be careful when you let them give you the covid test ..a friend went on 1/10/2022 and the lady giving the test put the swap so far up his nose he started bleeding ..no apology

Whoever answered the phone here,very unprofessional, Impossible to get a referral, they act like you are a brother! Get rid of you rude staff or maybe listen to them take your calls doctor?

Rings for a bit, then someone picks up and then immediately jangs up/drops call. No words, just pick up and drop as if its annoying that a phone is ringing, in a medical office, during a pandemic.

Wait times are very long and if you’re u ever call in don’t expect anyone to answer your call. And if you need a referral for something better call in a month a head because nobody will answer
