I can’t say enough good things, from the front desk staff, to the nurses and doctors. Everyone made the process so smooth for us. They were not only accommodating, helpful, but put me and my husband at ease with their demeanor. I am now entering my second trimester and I just know we wouldn’t be in this position of gratitude if it were not for all the hard work they did to get us here. I never had to worry and I never felt confused. Communication was always top priority and we were never left in the dark and now in just a few months we’ll get to experience the lightest of lights thanks to them! Appreciate all the hard work you guys do and blessed to have experienced it first hand!

I am 2 years delayed in sharing my feedback but I have absolutely nothing but the best things to say about Illume! My husband and I had a great experience with Dr. Meyer throughout our process of trying to conceive. Once we got all test results in she really took the time to talk through options with us and allowed us to make the decision versus pushing an option on us. We successfully got pregnant 3 months after working with Dr. Meyer! Our little bundle is 14 months now! My patient navigator Sammy was also fantastic along with my nurse Stephanie. I could have not had a better experience and I highly recommend Illume to anyone looking to get started with their family!

2.5/5 - I had a subpar experience. The initial consultation and the retrieval process were great, but the experience in-between felt rushed and lacked the personal attention and level of communication I would expect. I felt like a drive thru customer rather than a valued patient.I started the process about a year ago with the initial consultation and blood work/genetic testing. I decided to pause the process and resumed this past March. That’s when the process started feeling rushed and messy. Since it had been over six months, I asked the nurse to reconnect with the doctor. She said there was no need to connect with the doctor since she would walk me through the process and there were educational videos for me to review along the way. About a week into taking the fertility medication, I realized we had not spoken about the other medication I am on. I thought it wouldn’t hurt to remind them since they never asked. Just in case. The nurse immediately flagged that the doctor should have told me to stop one of the medications I was on before starting the fertility medication. Imagine my frustration! Checking in on other medications should be a standard question to all patients resuming the process after a couple of months. I wish I would have held my ground and demanded to connect with the doctor but at the time I was giving them the benefit of the doubt.Overall, the quality of communication was poor which leaves a lot of room for error in an already delicate process. The medication and the measurements on my Fertility Medicine Protocol didn’t match what was sent to home. So here I am Googling that 1 cc = 1 ml and that Gonal is the same as Follistim. The process is already overwhelming and complex. The least they could do is be as specific as possible. A simple cheat sheet would do the trick if they don’t want to invest in personalizing each protocol.About three days before the retrieval, they called to let me know what time to take the trigger shot. I once again brought up the question of medication because at this point I don’t trust them to be proactive. The nurse I spoke to said that I should also stop another medication I was on before the retrieval since it can cause complications with the anesthesia. What if I would have never asked? The straw that broke the camel’s back was getting a call the day before my retrieval to take an additional medication to prevent OHSS (Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome). The call was unexpected and the nurse was speaking so fast. She very clearly wanted to get me off the phone as soon as possible. I couldn’t even remember when she said to take the medication and the pharmacy directions said “take as directed by MD”. It was a Sunday so I called their on-call nurse line and was promised a call back on when I should take the medicine. They never called back. I had a similar rushed experience during morning monitoring. The doctor doing the ultrasound would rush to the door the moment the lights were turned on. I often had to stop them on the way out of the room to ask my questions.I didn’t get the outcome I wanted from this first cycle, so I likely need to do another. I’m seriously considering going to another clinic because the experience was so poor at Illume.

Illume fertility is a prime example of how medical clinics should work with all the different specialists and resources assigned throughout the process. Not to mention our experience with all the staff had been nothing but supportive and kind. Selfishly, I am hoping that we do not have to return to Illume for more fertility follow up, but if we did, we would have total confidence in the care Illume provides!

Our IVF journey has definitely had its ups and downs. We started at a different clinic and went through 4 embryo transfers, all of which didnt work out. It was pretty disheartening and made us wonder if IVF was even going to be successful for us.Right when we were considering giving up on IVF, our OBGYN recommended trying out Illume Fertility. I could tell from my very first remote meeting with Dr. Herwitz that this was the right place for us. The team at Illume Fertility completely exceeded our expectations. My nurse, Katrina L., was not only super skilled but also incredibly warm and caring. She always followed up promptly and showed how dedicated she was.Sammy was also amazing, always there to answer my questions. And the weekly visits with nurses Janea D. and Alex C. for blood work turned what could have been uncomfortable moments into something much better.Dr. Herwitz was both caring and really knowledgeable. Right from our first talk, I felt like I was in good hands. He totally got how complicated my situation was and was open to adjusting things to give us a better outcome. We did a bunch of tests, and finally, on our 6th embryo transfer, it worked! Now Im 11 weeks along in a healthy pregnancy, and my heart is full of thankfulness. Every doctor I met along the way was wonderful.
