My Womens Center

I had my first appointment at MWC this morning. The staff, from the moment I walked in, were friendly, gracious, and extremely organized with everyone they encountered--including each other.Dr. Wellhoner was professional, knowledgeable, and made sure to not only understand my condition, but to take into account my thoughts and goals. I am so happy to find a place where patients needs and concerns are treated as important in the decision making process.

I cant believe I havent written an review yet for Dr. Hutson and her crew! Ive been a patient since I moved here in 2012, and I cant say enough good things. Karen is fabulous, patient, caring and a great listener. I see her annually. I recently saw Roxana in between visits, and she was also great! Dr. Hutson is amazing. She has performed 3 procedures that went very well and I love her bedside manner and feel cared about and extremely confident knowing shes in charge of my care. I am so grateful and at ease knowing I have such a wonderful team @ My Womens Center. Thank you for everything! Wende :)

This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with dealing with people in the medical field. The lack of tact and empathy was egregious. I went in for a follow up to the first visit I had with one of the NP. She came in pretty much guns blazing because of her lack of preparedness. When going over the issues I did have she didnt want to answer any of my concerns and told me I was shooting her down. Then after she told me they only give me 20 minutes I have someone else waiting I was completely done.I went to the front to just check out and pay for the visit and they didnt have a chart, so the front desk attendant had to go around the corner from the front desk to ask the NP, and they start talking about my visit out in the open along with my diagnosis. I fully told them I could hear them and they let me know they could bill me.Over booking staff is not okay. Not listening to your patients is NOT okay. SPEAKING ABOUT YOUR PATIENTS MEDICAL PROBLEMS IN A PUBLIC AREA IS A HIPPA VIOLATION.

I just wanted to give Brittany and Carla a huge shout out! I live in Texas and was helping my mother get to her appointment by ordering her a Lyft. Unfortunately, the Lyft driver dropped her off at the wrong location and I spent a good 20 mins trying to help my mom find her way to the clinic. My mom got lost and was walking around in circles in the heat so I called Brittany at the front desk to try to reschedule the appointment but she spoke to the doctor to have them wait on my mom and she got Carla to get in her car and pick my mom up to bring her to her appointment. We were stressed but Brittany and Carla reassured me they were going to take care of my mom. I truly appreciate the compassion and kindness these ladies demonstrated. You can tell they truly care about their patients!

Dr Hutson is amazing. She listens and genuinely cares not just about the physical well-being of her patients, but also their emotional and mental health. She came highly recommended to me, and I pass those recommendations on. She is truly one of a kind.

Best care ever! From the first scheduling call with Kimberly to the reader glasses that are available to those of us that need them to compassionate, thorough, and unrushed time with Mary Patterson. Everyone is professional and caring. Appointment times are on-time and while you are waiting, the spaces are sophisticatedly femine. They make one feel welcomed.

I love that Dr. Hutson’s office always acknowledges me within seconds of my arrival. Mel was great with me. She was professional and knowledgeable.

In all ways, MWC provides a safe, calm zone which promotes open discussion of health & personal concerns and of course thorough, gentle physical exams. So grateful to be a patient there! As a person who struggles with white coat anxiety, my observation should interest others with my tendency.

I had been with a gynecologist for almost 20 years and she retired. I feel that having a good gynecologist is very personal and can be very uncomfortable if you dont trust your doctor. When I heard about Gynecologists of Reno and read their reviews I was very impressed. I called the office and Joanne was amazing. She said shed call me if she got a cancellation and she called me the same day. When I arrived at the office I was so impressed. The office is decorated beautifully it makes you feel very at home. I was nervous because I hadnt been to another doctor in 20 years and wasnt sure how I would feel building a new relationship. The entire staff is professional, caring and did everything to make me feel comfort. Karen the PA was superb. I feel I have a new home and it takes a lot of stress off knowing that this office sincerely cares about my health. Im very pleased with this office and would recommend them very highly.

Dr. Hutson is not only a fantastic and accomplished Doctor, but she is warm and caring. I saw Dr. Hutson for the first time yesterday and she spent quite a bit of time asking me questions and making sure that I was informed and comfortable. The office is very impressive, spotless, and has an almost spa-like atmosphere. The staff is welcoming and professional. I would highly recommend Dr. Hutson and her team!

A welcoming office and kind front office staff. Dr Hutson is so caring and compassionate, she listens to my concerns and helps me to get to my goals.

It was so nice to have the nurse practitioner Karen listen to me without interrupting or shutting me down due to only being allowed 15 minutes for the appointment. I dont remember how long the appointment actually was, but I didnt feel like I was being rushed through so the next patient could be seen. Also when I spoke, she actually listened with interest and documented all my concerns and then addressed every single thing with a load of information without making me feel overwhelmed or stupid. I left feeling completely valued as a human being and patient versus as a faceless name on their schedule. She also looked at my eyes when we spoke. Simple little things, but oh how important.

My womens center is outstanding for care. My health issues were completely resolved in a very timely manner and I was treated extremely well. Dr Hutson and the nurse Paula are very knowledgeable and very kind! I definitely had a positive experience in my surgery and treatment! Highly recommend!

Ive only had great experiences here. After an abnormal pap smear and then going through a colposcopy twice. One more invasive than the other, we found out I had cancerous growths on my cervix. Dr Bridgewater recommended a hysterectomy asap. I was scared as never gone under anesthesia or having any type of surgery in my 54 years. I didnt know how painful this was gonna be after or anything. Dr Bridgewater did and amazing job and I was feeling really good after just four days. By the time I had my first follow-up appt, I begged to go back to work as I felt so good. With her excellent skills and me being in pretty good shape, I was back on track to my normal routine in no time.

Dr. Bridgewater is the most patient and personable doctor Ive ever had. I discovered her when I called for a second opinion on a recommendation to get a hysterctomy. She ended up doing the surgery and I couldnt be happier. She and her staff are absolutley fantastic, always on schedule, and if I have to leave message I never have to wait for a call back, always the same day. (I know, right?!). I wish Dr. Bridgewater could be my doctor for everything!

I am so happy to have such great care. I recently had a hysterectomy (my first surgery EVER). Dr. Hutson and the entire staff could not have been more kind, reassuring and helpful. Two days ago, I went in for my two week post-op and everything has gone exceptionally well. I am very grateful.

Everyone here is so welcoming. I never feel like Mary is rushing to get to the next patient. She is always friendly and attentive.

I went for my yearly exam. Everyone was friendly and made me feel at home. I also liked the person, Karen Wood APRN, who did my exam was really listening and provided much needed feedback.Thank you for being there!

I love Dr. Hutson, the nurses and MA’s that work at this facility. They are very kind, understanding, and always willing to help you. They make coming to this office worth while. The front office staff on the other hand is the worst office staff that I have had to deal with at any doctors office that I go to. Cindy is the rudest, most unhelpful and unkind front desk staff that I have ever had to deal with. Every time I have an interaction with her she has an attitude, is extremely rude and all around unhelpful. I dread my appointments because I have to deal with her. I wish they would hire a more friendly staff for the front desk, it would make a world of difference.

I saw the PA Karen Wood because I went for my annual exam...just routine stuff. Karen was delightful, interested in what I had to say, and very thorough. This was my first visit to this office. My interaction with the staff from the moment I walked in to the moment I left was great. I was early for my appointment and they were able to take me right in. The office and exam rooms are extremely comfortable. Karen was great. I have not met any of the doctors in the office. However, my impression of the office and other staff tells me they would probably show the same respect and care everyone else demonstrates.

Mary is a very caring person and so personable. I value her professional and personable approach to health care. This quality of care is what every person deserves yet hardly receives. Thank you for all your years of dedication to our community.

The office staff has been very helpful, nice group. Paula Naughton is professional in her treatment style. She takes the time necessary to explain the procedure! I have found her to be delightful. Thank you Dr Hudson for your great team!

I though that going to a women’s center would be the best thing for myself and my adult daughter. While my care has been satisfactory, I am not as happy with how my daughter has been treated. At age 23 she requested to have her tubes tied. She was told that she was too young to make such a decision and that it may be her choice, they refused to do the surgery. My daughter has had nothing but severe pain associated with her periods and pelvic area in general. She had irregular periods, PCOS, and severe endometriosis, requiring ablation. She complained on multiple occasions of the pain, only to be looked over as young and inexperienced. She has genetic concerns to not give birth, genetic issues on both sides of her family and she personally doesn’t want to become pregnant. She has planned to adopt since she was a very young teen, always knowing she wanted to be a mom, but to another woman’s child, not one genetically hers.After finding an OBGYN that would listen to her reasoning and her health concerns from both sides of her family, she was granted a tubal ligation. During this surgery it was found that her endometriosis was so severe that she needed to be referred to a specialist. A gynecological oncologist. 6 months after her tubal ligation, she was back in the hospital for an emergency hysterectomy and possible bowel resection. Luckily they were able to save her bowels and her life. Had her original gynecologist listened to her concerns and wants as a woman, she may not have needed an emergency hysterectomy, but could have planned a bit better for her personal care.She never felt like it was her body, her choice. She felt like her wants were dismissed and pushed to the side because she really did want to be a mom….. that is not the doctors decision. It was hers!

I found Dr. Hutson years ago, when my Gynecologist retired and the one who replaced him, would not take me because I was a Medicare patient. I called several doctors, and none would take me, I finally just went down the list in the phone book and Dr. Hutson took me as her patient. When I thanked her personally, she said I have a mother who is on Medicare. She has been so good to me and has performed a hysterectomy, and a bladder sling, and did an excellent job. I have recommended several people to her office, who have been glad I did. I have also seen Karen Wood, who is a very kind and talented person. They will see me on a moments notice when needed. I would recommend Gynecologists of Reno to anyone! I have been very happy to have been associated with them.

I have been to this center 2 times. Once for my annual exam and once for another issue. The first visit was totally fine. Everything went well. Then, most recently, July 2021, I was there for an issue I was having. I called and asked if they could do an ultra sound. I was told yes. So, in terrible pain, I went in expecting an ultra sound to be done since that is what I made the appointment for. I was told that they could not do that but they would write and order for it to be done somewhere else. When I say I was in pain, I was doubled over. I couldnt stand up. I couldnt lay down. I couldnt sit. I was so uncomfortable. I waited n the lobby for almost an hour before being seen. As I went to check out, they told me that I owed money from 2019. I told her I had only been there one time and it was my annual exam and it was covered by my insurance. She then looked into my chart and said that I got information about an ablation. I told her that the doctor asked me if my periods were regular. When I told the doctor they were not regular, she handed me a pamphlet about ablation. Why would I be charged for answering a question they asked me? And, I have never gotten a bill from them. Not one time since 2019. The very rude and snippy lady behind the desk then said that she would write off the charges. She then told me that I would I need to pay for todays visit with a smirk on her face. I told her that I realized that and had no problem doing so. I paid my bill for the day and then the lady behind the desk stated that she would send over the orders for an ultrasound to Saint Marys. I told her that I requested the orders be sent to Northern Nevada because it is closer to my home, she rolled her eyes and went to write it down and noticed that the doctor had already written down that I requested Northern Nevada. I called Northern Nevada the next day to see if they got the orders. They had not received them. I called the My Womens Center and it had not been faxed over. At this point, I was in so much pain, I just went to Urgent Care where they took care of me right away. I will never go back to My Womens Center. What a bad experience. In my opinion, My Womens Center should worry less about their beauty bar and more about gynecological issues.

Dr. Hutson Is an AWESOME doctor. She makes you feel comfortable, takes her time with you, and not only listens, but offers solutions. Im a forever patient. Her staff is unbelievably kind, and definitely easy to work with. Its truly an all around great experience!

I’ve been seeing Karen Wood and Elizabeth Hutson for about 5 years now. I just had a hysterectomy this past December, and everything is going so well. Dr. Hutson is wonderful and she has cured me of years of pain and struggle! I also need to give thanks to Paula and LeeAnn who have to put up with my bad cell reception and phone tag! I have recommended MWC to all of my friends❤️

Dr. Hutson is amazing. She fit me into her schedule and acted on my issues right away. The whole office was very professional and compassionate. I can not say enough good things about how she handled my issues.

Dr. Hutson has been my gynecologist for over 15 years. She is terrific: personable, skillful, knowledgeable, and caring. The whole staff is great. They make sure to get you in promptly if you are having issues!!

I have seen Dr. Hutson for several different issues over the years and had two surgeries by her. She corrected my problems and now I couldnt be happier. She is extremely knowledgeable in the office and as a surgeon. Her office staff were always wonderful to me. I would recommend her to anyone she is fantastic. And I think anyone who has a problem with her has a mental problem themselves and is projecting it onto her and her staff. Five stars everytime.

Ive been a patient of Dr. Hutsons for over 10 years. She is very kind, has an excellent bedside manner, and has always treated me with respect. The staff has always been friendly and helpful, and the new office is beautiful!

Horrible service. I called in the morning and left a message requesting an appointment as a new patient. I called back later and was able to get a hold of the secretary and I asked to set up an appointment as a new patient and she RUDELY asked why. I told her I need a check up and test done and she said they are not accepting new patients. I let her know that my insurance says that they ARE accepting new patients. She denied and said they wont take me then hung up. The BEST PART a couple hours later she called my phone (not knowing we already spoke) and she responded to my voicemail saying they are accepting patients and I should call them to book. Just plain rude and judgmental office. I reported them to my insurance so no one else has to go through the tug of war I went through,

Had an appointment at 12 pm scheduled this appointment for about two months in advance. When the date arrived I confirmed the appointment. Later in the day women’s center called telling me to reschedule for 2pm because the nurse had a meeting at the same time I had my appointment, that I had scheduled two months in advance. I canceled was kind of pushed to cancel or scheduled. I didn’t fell valued as a customer and respected . I wouldn’t have a problem if I would of been notified in a week or two in advance, but I was told the day before of the appointment ..!!

Ive been a patient of Dr. Elizabeth Hutson for a few years now and I am so happy I found her. She has done reconstruction surgery on my bladder and I cannot tell you how great that was...it changed my life. She is not only the most caring doctor I have ever been to but a dam good surgeon. This group of doctors is so important to womans health.

I have had about five gynecologists during my adult life. Dr. Hutson is, hands-down, the best! Love her! Love the staff! Love the other services provided under the same roof!

I have been a patient of Dr Elizabeth Hutsons for 12 years and just wanted to say that her office staff is truly amazing and very helpful in every way. Also, I have seen her nurse practioners, Karen and Cookie and have found them very knowledgeable and they have always put my care and comfort first. if I could give more stars I would!!!!!!!

I love this office. The nurse practitioners are always so nice and thorough. The triage nurse is so helpful with taking care of infections and prescriptions. MonaLisa Touch is seriously the best thing I have had done postpartum. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Dr. Hutson is the only gynecologist I have ever felt completely at ease with. She exudes kindness and is so good at explaining things. She has a gentle touch, and is very experienced and knowledgeable. True warmth and concern from the reception desk to the exam room. Beautiful decor and calming atmosphere. Lynn, who performs urodynamics studies could not have been more kind and efficient in her task. Preop and postop matters were handled so well and left me feeling assured I was taken care of every step of the way. Highly recommended to those seeking gynecological care.

Dr. Hutson was very receptive to my needs and requests. She was prompt and thorough. I had the Novasure ablation and everything was perfect and exactly what I was hoping for.Karen Wood APN was also very receptive and thorough.Everyone at the office was professional and caring.It was a great experience.

Mary Patterson was amazing! I’m so happy I found her. It’s quite a distance for me travel to see her but we’ll worth the visit. I plan to spread the word to all my friends and family.

Office and nurses always friendly and helpful. Dr. Hutson is the best. She is caring, Profesional and takes time with her patients. She has been a big help in keeping me healthy.

This place is honestly careless with their service to patients. Impossible to reach. They left me a voicemail telling me they received my results from my appointment. Pretty important information to me. But they must take about 2-3 hour lunches. I called from 11 am- 12pm, and it goes to their automated voicemail saying lunch is from 11:50 - 1:25 (must be nice) but clearly their lunch starts at 11, ends at 2 pm. Once I get a hold of someone at 2:30 pm, they immediately transfer me to another voicemail. No answers, I’ve left numerous voicemails- no call back. It’s pretty ridiculous, especially when they have my results. Very unprofessional, and lazy. My experience visiting there wasn’t anything great either, the nurse practitioner tried ending my appointment as fast as she could to, of course, take her lunch at 11:15. Looking forward to visiting a new Gyno next year who cares about their work, and values me as a patient.

The staff are all incredibly kind and considerate. Its not every day that you laugh your way through getting a birth control implant. If we have to go through the unpleasantries of being women, we may as well do it at a place with an amazing atmosphere and great people.

I called to make see if they were taking new patients and the lady on the phone asked for my insurance, when i told her, she said “i’ve never even heard of that insurance so i’m not going to look it up and we aren’t taking new patients” when they do indeed take my insurance because their information was given to me from my insurance company. I’ll happily look elsewhere.

Dr. Hutson is the best. She is very personable and genuinely caring. You never feel like you need to hurry with your discussions with her. I no longer have to search for a great GYN Dr., shes it!

If I could star them zero I would. I had surgery earlier in the year they required a deposit for. My insurance paid a hefty amount reducing the deposit. The first time I called inquiring about a refund was told the office manager was out of town for a month and no one was able to write a check. A month later I called was told the check is in the mail. After 2 weeks called again and was told that the office manager is now on a 2 week vacation. At this point I told them that this is suspicious every time I called the manager was conveniently out of town? Was told Dr Hutson wrote a personal check and this was available for pickup. I was not able to pick it up that day so told them to mail it. I have usps informed delivery and I saw the letter addressed to me with the wrong unit number. Prior to this they sent me bills, test results and pre-surgical paperwork I received without issue. Done with the run around I contacted my insurance company and filed a formal complaint against my womens center. Will not be back no apologies offered complete indifference and unprofessional office staff.

Such a great facility. Very thorough. I was very nervous about my upcoming surgery. But Dr Hutson was so knowledgeable, patient and confident that I was put at ease.

Paula Naughton always takes her time with you and is so kind during every appointment. It’s nice to feel heard and know that she is actually listening to help you with any issues you are experiencing.

I love my nurse practitioner, Karen!!! She’s a doll!The lady at the front desk with dark brown hair is very stern and unfriendly otherwise I’d give it a 5 star.

This place is wonderful and I will continue my care here. I was a bit surprised and uncomfortable with the no mask requirement in a clinic setting during my recent visit. But that doesnt change my rating of the care received.

Both Dr. Hutson and Paula Naughton are wonderful. Dr. Hutson is a great Dr. Staff is courteous. In addition, Paula is a fabulous listener and makes visiting for the monitor checks with the bladder stimulator a positive experience every time. Thank you!

My Women’s Center Beauty Shop is wonderful, great staff, excellent service. They explain everything they are doing and why. What would work and what wouldn’t, they are honest and polite. I would recommend Sherry Huebner RN, BSN for all your cosmetic needs.

I got in on the same day to give a urine specimen. The nurse saw me right away and I was in/out in less than 30 minutes. UTI’s are the worst, but this office is the Best!

I love this office!! Dr Hutson is the best AND the staff is great too, its a package deal! Ive been to a lot of places that the doctor is great but the staff isnt friendly or the staff is great and the doctor is insane. I am very grateful for this office!!!

Cookie Bible --- Dr. Hutsons assistant, who I waited 7 months to see, treated me like I was a piece of trash. For a year and a half now Ive been having extremely heavy and painful menstrual cramps with blood clots that go on for 12-14 days to the point where I think Im going to die. This is NOT normal for me, Ive always been a light 3-4 days kind of girl. 1.) Cookie Bible accused me that the reason Im having my pain is because of fast food. (I am hard core in eating organic everything). 2.) Cookie Bible accused me then of having a sexually transmitted disease. (Thats not possible because I havent had intercourse with anyone and my last pap was clean). 3.) Then she had to the nerve to point out my healing cold sore and say, You know you can get those by having oral sex. (I have had cold sores since I was 4 years old) 4.) When I asked her to help me and what are we going to do about the pain that I am experiencing she said, Well Im definitely not going to give you pain pills, you can just take Advil. (Ive already been taking 10-12 Advil pills a day during my menstrual and still didnt kill the pain and I dont believe in taking pain pills, so you know when I take Advil that means its really bad.) 3 months later I was able to see Dr. McCaskill who ordered a vaginal ultrasound for me and found out I have a tumor in my uterus thats been causing the horrible pain I was experiencing. THANK YOU Dr. McCaskill for taking care of me instead of this Cookie Bible who didnt give a care about the horrible situation I was in.

Dr. Hutson is wonderful. She is very caring and concerned about your health. I’m very happy to have her as my doctor.

Mary is wonderful-- I never feel rushed..she asks questions about things I dont even think about.

Dr. Hutson and the rest of the staff are wonderful and caring and are amazing with anyones particular situation. I have been going here since 2015 and I wont go anywhere else.

There are several posts about the center accepting new patients over the past several weeks but when you call they tell you they haven’t been accepting patients the last year. Don’t waste your time
