Unfortunately, Im going to have to agree with many of the reviewers. This was a terrible standard of care, probably the worst Ive ever received. If you are someone who is relatively healthy, you are fine. But Ive suffered from chronic issues and have tried to raise them with her. She seems to want to do the bare minimum. I asked for additional blood tests and she only ordered 1 of them. She doesnt investigate to help you get to the root cause. Ive asked for referrals on who else in the medical field I could connect with and didnt receive any valuable recommendations. As a black woman, I was disappointed but not surprised since I find that our concerns are oftentimes ignored when we see doctors. But I had high hopes and gave her a shot. Im going to find someone else who really has empathy for their patients, not just checking off the boxes in appointments.

I absolutely adore Ms Cheng. She is super friendly and listens well, and she is incredibly patient and empathetic. I also appreciate that she pointed me towards resources and specialists when my needs exceeded the scope of her practice, and that she helped me get in to see them in a timely manner. Her office is great, the nurses and reception staff are all lovely. It’s super easy to get a hold of her via eCare, which has been very helpful. Highly recommend! Also as a person with chronic illness/pain and lasting anxiety, I do understand the frustration of not having adequate medication to manage it. But I understand why she generally sees it as a last resort, and that she will direct you to specialists if you do need some sort of heavier medication regimen.

Amy is a very good PCP who asks smart, insightful questions and gets to the bottom of issues while also proactively planning for future health needs. I strongly recommend her.

Go to Amy if you’re healthy as a horse and never need to use the doctor. If you have a chronic condition see someone different. There are a million better doctors, just look a little harder.

Compassionless and overly suspicious is about right. I would add to that presumptuous and self-important, and condescending. She will walk in convinced of her treatment plan before ever asking what non-drug options you’ve tried. She’ll accuse you of “drug seeking” if you ask for sleep medication—as though drugs aren’t a valid option and asking for them makes you a bad person—“because you’ve never tried any of the behavioral therapy options I’m suggesting”, but she hasn’t even asked what you’ve tried yet (spoiler, you’ve had this issue for 7 years so obviously you’ve tried all the habit-modification stuff she’s talking about). So now she’s put you in a position where anything you say only reinforces her presumption that you’re a drug seeking low life. All of this is a huge slap in the face because you hate drugs and don’t even drink caffeine or drink alcohol, and you’ve spent years forming good sleep habits before considering drugs as a last resort. Finally, she’ll prescribe, you guessed it, (((antidepressants))).Really makes you think.

I have been a patient of her for four years and she has been a good primary care physician.

Amy Cheng is a compassionless and overly suspicious worthless excuse for a doctor.
