The UCSF Center for Reproductive Health is truly exceptional in every way. After many years of trying to conceive, we finally found success here, and we couldnt be more grateful. One of the standout aspects of this clinic is its group practice model. Having multiple MDs involved in my treatment plan made a world of difference. Instead of relying on just one doctors opinion, I had the benefit of several highly experienced professionals weighing in on my care. This collaborative approach gave me confidence that I was receiving the best possible treatment tailored specifically to my needs. The entire team at UCSF is dedicated, knowledgeable, and compassionate. From the front desk staff to the nurses and doctors, everyone we encountered made us feel supported and cared for throughout our journey. Their expertise in reproductive health is unmatched, and their commitment to helping families achieve their dreams is evident in everything they do.If you are looking for the best fertility clinic, look no further than the UCSF Center for Reproductive Health. They are simply the best at what they do, and we are forever grateful to them for helping us build our family.

UCSF was great! The office was warm and friendly, and felt very welcoming. I had a consult with Dr Mok-Lin and really liked her. She was very clear and patient, and I appreciated her mix of positivity and practical opinions and advice. We didn’t move forward for family reasons but I would have been very comfortable with and happy to work with her and her team if we had.

I got recommended to the PCOS clinic by a friend because of some symptoms I was experiencing. Even though it turned out I don’t have PCOS, this was a great experience — I felt truly cared for. The medical professionals were thorough, rigorous and extremely kind. I walked away with a better sense of what’s going on with my health, and more confidence that I’m on my way to resolving it. They have specialists across the spectrum of dermatology, mental health, nutrition as well as the typical doctors you might expect to see, and I very much appreciated the whole body approach. I wish all my healthcare experiences were like this! The facility is also really nice. Street parking can be hit and miss, but there is a garage across the street for $5 an hour.

Dr. Mok-Lin and her team are top notch! With as many patients as this esteemed clinic sees, i was worried my husband and I would feel like ‘just a number’. We were so pleasantly surprised to have had a wonderful experience where we felt heard and prioritized. They walked us through every step of the IVF process with compassion and understanding. I spent many hours on the phone with Dr. Mok-Lin’s nurse, Shem, who is an absolute angel. We are looking forward to working with them again next year for baby #2! Highly recommend this care team!

I don’t like to leave reviews anything less than 5 stars but I must admit, I am not having the best experience at this facility. Reading through other reviews, I’m seeing many other people having issues with communication and billing. I have experienced the same. Insurance doesn’t cover much of what they offer and the initial “estimate” we were verbally provided has now almost doubled. We’ve had to e mail the staff and thankfully get some of that waived. But for a facility of this stature, it is simply not acceptable. I regret being so optimistic and being more stern in the beginning about seeking clarity in the strategy and billing expectations. None of that is ever provided. I am grateful to be in a position to afford this expense but many families could experience major setbacks in their life plans simply by not having the clarity they deserve upfront and that doesn’t feel fair. My hope is the billing team reads this review, and all the others, and makes a commitment to being more empathetic of their clients/patients.

I cant say enough good things about Dr. Heather Huddleston and the entire team at UCSF CRH. Dr. Huddleston is truly one of the best providers Ive ever had the privilege of being cared for — her combination of incredible skill and her comforting bedside manner made me feel safe and hopeful through my care journey. I came to her with complications from a previous miscarriage that resulted in scarring in my uterus, which required highly-specialized treatment. My husband and I felt cradled and supported by Huddlestons care team, the outstanding nursing staff, the care coordinators, and the entire UCSF CRH team. Now that Ive successfully graduated from their care, I would recommend Dr. Huddleston and UCSF to anyone seeking care in their fertility journey.

We had a terrible experience with incomplete guidelines provided by one of the nurses, which resulted in unnecessary medication, having to repeat a good part of the procedure. This resulted on an additional $7k cost.Besides that, they overcharged us $980 dollars. Their financial services office doesn’t have a customer service phone number (if you call, you get an automatic message asking to leave a message because “they are busy with other patients”, every single time you call, no matter the day or time).I would avoid UCSD Center for Reproductive Health at all costs.

A semen analysis was done in this center. However, it has been more than 3 weeks and so far the clinic did not release the result to me. I request the clinic to attach the lab result to my patients portal and nothing was done.UCSF clinic acts as if the lab result does not belong to me, patient. Even though I paid out of pocket for the procedure. Despite I am a doctor, they continue to play games and I still did not get the results. They claimed the result was faxed to my fertility clinic but my fertility clinic said they did not get any results yet...I contacted several staff about this issues over the last weeks and the only thing they keep saying to me is I am sorry, but no action to solve the situation was taken. The easiest way to solve the problem was to send the lab result to the patients portal but they refuse to do that.Remember, if you do an exam in this clinic, you will NOT have direct access to the exam result. All patients should have the right to access their own results... but not at UCSF fertility center.

DO NOT DONATE EGGS HERE. I donated eggs here back in 2021 -- I was hospitalized due to OHSS due to the over-medication they gave me for my trigger shot. While they did pay for my hospital stay and ambulance, I feel the extreme pain and discomfort could have been avoided via proper prescription amount. I have since donated at other agencies and all the doctors were surprised at the dosage the UCSF doctors prescribed me. There are better places out there

UCSF stands as a distinguished institution renowneda for its groundbreaking research and medical advancements. However, my experience at UCSF Fertility has left me deeply dissatisfied, particularly in terms of patient care. Regrettably, I cannot in good conscience recommend UCSF for egg freezing or IVF procedures. My foremost concern lies in the apparent lack of prioritization of patient well-being. Treatment at UCSF Fertility appears standardized and impersonal, lacking the necessary customization to address individual needs. The reliance on uniform dosages and treatment plans disregards the unique circumstances of each patient, leading to disappointing outcomes. Moreover, when results deviate from expectations, patients are unjustly blamed for these shortcomings.During my visits, I encountered a revolving door of different nurses, which contributed to a sense of detachment and inconsistency in care. Communication with physicians was alarmingly infrequent, with minimal interaction and only two opportunities to speak directly with a doctor, necessitating persistent advocacy on my part.Compounding these issues, there appears to be a concerning oversight in the monitoring of patients progress. Blood work and scans are not given the necessary attention, and physicians are conspicuously absent during appointments, resulting in delayed feedback and hasty assessments of results. Consequently, adjustments to treatment plans are inadequately informed, leaving patients unsupported and uninformed. In conclusion, while UCSF undoubtedly excels in research and medical innovation, my experience at UCSF Fertility has left much to be desired. The lack of patient-centered care and inadequate attention to individual needs severely diminishes the quality of service provided. As such, I cannot recommend UCSF Fertility for those seeking fertility treatments.

We had a rough experience here. During the egg retrieval process and lead up, we only met with our doctor once for the initial consult, and saw a different nurse for every other visit. After my retrieval, we received horrible news via the portal with no explanation, call or message from our doctor or nurses. After messaging our doctor to ask for more info, we were told we could meet with him in a few weeks once we had the final results. We knew we would need to do another round already, but they would not meet with us sooner and we wasted a cycle waiting.Their proposed plan for a second round went against the advice from 2 other reputable clinics, and I’m convinced would have also failed as it is the protocol they put everyone on who they think has “egg quality” issues & is a bit outdated according to the other fertility doctors. We went with another clinic for the second round and had amazing results, it was night and day. I would not recommend CRH to anyone. They are still billing us extra & duplicate charges for the one failed cycle over 6 months later.

Before starting my review of UCSF, I want to mention that this was the second hospital that I visited for Infertility treatments. The initiated treatment with Kaiser and it wasnt terrible, my nurses were wonderful and were the reason I almost didnt leave. I want to give credit to all of the ones that held my hand and cried with me, but especially nurse Tulay Gaines who helped me when I hit a low point in this journey. - When I thought that my cervical stenosis was going to shut down all hope of an IUI or IVF happen, she stayed with me over an hr to make it happen. She found the path! Lastly, I believe that my doctor did the best she could with the workload that she had, ultimately, I needed to find someone who could spend more time with me and use her time to research solutions that could restore my faith in the process.I was assigned to Dr. Mok-Lin, but have also worked with Heather Huddleston on the retrieval. My first impression was that the office was beautiful, but most importantly the doctors are sharp. Dr. Mok-Lin was as kind as her photo looks and was genuine in conversation. I never feel rushed by her, and it feels as if youre talking to a super smart friend. After our visit I told my husband and my sister that I love her and I feel it, this is our doctor. She will tell you like it is, but she doesnt make you feel hopeless. Shes a solution seeker and I believe that shes going to be the one to change the course of our lives forever. - Although... at the end of the day our bodies decide whether or not to maintain a pregnancy, but no matter the outcome I believe that she would do her best. This is the hospital and the person that I want to care for me.Heather HuddlestonI saw her photo online and I read her reviews, which were great when the patient was rational in their reviews. Nonetheless, I can tell you from personal experience that she was wonderful to me. She took her time with me when we were speaking, and she answered all of the questions that I had. I would trust working with her again. There was nothing impersonal about our interaction and she got us our bonus egg! Honestly, we expected to retrieve 2-3 eggs, MAYBE 4. But in the end, we ended up with a beautiful 5, 4 of which fertilized the next day. I was very happy and Im grateful to her.The Nurses in the Procedure roomThe nurses are great. They took such good care of my when I felt scared and the most vulnerable. They made me feel less scared and at times have held my hand during my procedures. I dont know what I would I do without them.Regarding Billing with UCSF:FYI: This has nothing to do with your doctors! In fact, the doctors will sometimes try to bill things in ways to try and help you. Dr. Mok-Lin helped us to dodge a $35k bullet.Due to billing being handled by another dept./team I recommend staying on top of everything and to ask good clarifying questions when you dont understand your benefits. The hospital surgery billing dept for my hysteroscopy was the worst. They were kind and helpful, but they need a bit more training on understanding the complexities of processing insurance claims, especially when it comes to having double coverage. They caused me to lose a cycle and that infuriated me. They confused me and themselves regarding having double coverage and I spent many hours talking to Kaiser, BlueShield, my doctor, the patient surgery coordinator, and Hills Physican - only to have my previous fertility doctor do me a favor by asking my gyno to do the procedure. Free of charge with Kaiser. So, know your benefits, understand what is required to get your claims paid out, and just stay on top of it.Although the billing dept really has me worried sometimes, the service and care that I get from my doctors and the nurses are worth it for me. Im not easy to impress and I can be cutthroat when it comes to my health, but I do sincerely feel that I am getting top shelf care with CRH. Theyre a research hospital and the doctors will find solutions for your situation. I highly recommend.

Don’t come here. They’re very loosely affiliated with UCSF, don’t know what they’re doing most of the time, and don’t take insurance for most things. All our IUI attempts were painful and unsuccessful and terrible. They simply don’t know what they’re doing. And we never saw a doctor. The one time we did, he was rude. Norma was a nightmare to deal with. Bye bye.

I have had experience with two other clinics in the Bay Area before transferring to UCSF. USCF ranks abysmally poorly in comparison to the other two. The other reviews are not exaggerating. Be warned. You will never see an actual licensed doctor at this facility. They outsource all services to the nursing staff. In over six months of frequent visits to the clinic I saw (in person) an actual licensed doctor exactly ONE time. You will rarely see or speak to the same individual more than once or twice, there is absolutely zero continuity of care. Your assigned doctor will be unlikely to even call you by phone or video chat at any point during treatment. To be frank, at this point Im not sure my apparent doctor even physically exists. They will treat you like a number, not a nuanced human being. I routinely saw my actual doctor at the other two facilities (Spring Fertility being the best and to which I plan to return and would get 4.5 stars in my book), so I know this is possible. I only, misguidedly, transferred to USCF for a specific doctor when my wonderful doctor at Spring moved out of the area. Transferring to USCF is a decision I deeply regret.USCFs Reproductive Endocrinologists are detached, lazy, impersonal and downright apathetic toward their patients. They do not listen or adjust to feedback (theyre getting your money regardless after all). They do not provide nuanced care specific to each unique human body they are treating (not every females biology adheres to the average treatment standards). I cannot emphasize enough that you should choose (nay run to!) another (any) clinic if you are interested quality care. UCSF cant even boast having the best pricing options/packages in the area (that would be Spring in fact).

I was so upset by my experience at UCSF that it has taken almost a year to write this review. But today, as I receive an erroneous bill for over $10k for IVF services that I paid for in full over 10 months ago, I have to write this review and warn folks not to use UCSF. The coordination problems at the clinic - not just in terms of billing but also coordination around cycles that jeopardize outcomes - are so serious that I think they need to do a complete overhaul. I say this as I hold my baby that came about bc of services received at UCSF. I had great nurses and doctors, but they are working in a broken system and quite frankly, with the exorbitant cost of IVF, it is worth exploring another clinic, like Spring, where you will face a less stressful experience.I did an IVF cycle with a donor and the communication and coordination were so poor that I almost had a failed cycle. After choosing the donor - it took six weeks for UCSF to even contact her to schedule an appointment for screening. It took a month to get her in and then a full month to communicate the results. There were some problematic findings, and four months after choosing my donor, I almost had to start over from scratch. This should never happen. It should never take 4 months just to complete screening (which is an ultrasound and blood test). Then when I finally moved forward with a cycle, UCSF failed to get the results of a necessary test and didnt catch the mistake until stimulation and cycle syncing had already begun and I was told that instead of doing a fresh cycle, I would need to do a freeze cycle (freeze cycles have much lower success rates than fresh at UCSF). This came about because of poor follow-up on my case and poor communication between my coordinator and doctor, with my doctor unaware that the test was missed until I called to inform them. In the end, we were able to save the fresh cycle but we got a very low number of embryos for a donor round and almost missed the implantation window. This could be unrelated to the missed test but the stress of the mistake was enormous regardless. Now, many, many months later, I am dealing with the constant stream of bills for services that I paid for months ago. UCSF has continued to send me bills since I completed IVF with them, even though you must pre-pay EVERYTHING before embryo transfer. Initially, the bills were for a few hundred dollars but the most recent one was over $10k. Each time they try to collect the payment and threaten to send me to collection, even though these are erroneous charges. And even though the errors are very obvious, it takes multiple phone calls and weeks (sometimes months) for UCSF to even recognize the error and stop sending bills and warning notices.I have done IVF rounds at three different clinics and fertility treatments inherently carry a degree of stress. Yet, UCSF was by far my worst experience, and I still feel triggered when I get a communication from them or think back to my cycle there. Infertility is hard enough on its own, go with a clinic that has the coordination and support in place to alleviate the stress, not add to it.

5 stars for Dr. Rosen and his team at UCSF. Fertility issues can be agonizing. Dr. Rosen is straightforward, intelligent, cutting edge, informative and of equal importance, compassionate and kind. He has an incredible bedside manner and manages to convey how much he truly cares without sacrificing the efficiency required of the job. Liz Gomez, one of his nurses, is helpful and always available. It can be disconcerting to see different doctors and nurses for appointments but knowing Liz is only a phone call away and that Dr. Rosen is guiding the entire process and “rounding” on his patients is so reassuring. We have a beautiful baby girl (toddler now) thanks to Dr. Rosen and team and are embarking on a frozen embryo transfer with him now. I hope the results are the same...I have the utmost confidence that every possible measure will be taken to ensure success.Every doctor I saw at UCSF was professional, knowledgeable and informative.Aside from the excellent Dr. Rosen and staff the Mission bay offices are a delight. Very relaxing and clean with state of the art equipment and beautiful views it’s almost a pleasure to be here. They do a good job of explaining the costs of treatment beforehand.I have recommended UCSF to others going through infertility and they have been very happy as well.

UCSFs center for Fertility and reproductive endocrinology is the best thing that had happened to our soon to be family. From start to finish the experience has been wonderful and had saved my husband and I a lot of heartache as well as money. The staff at UC is unbeatable! I worked primarily with Dr. Rosen & his incredible team (Liz is the best!) They returned my calls and emails expediously and always made me feel like I was taken care of. Dr. Rosen went to bat for me and was able to offer a variety of clinical trials which assisted us in saving a ton of money on meds and pick my husbands strongest/smartest swimmers.I am 35 years old with an AMH of .71. Two failed IUIs, one miscarriage and over a year of trying with nothing but negative results. UCSF and their exceptional team managed to get me pregnant on round one and now Im about 6 weeks along! Yaaaay! If you want the best Doctors in the business, a brand new modern facility and the best Lab in the country Id suggest going with UC. It has been the best experience from start to finish!

Im leaving UCSF CRH and starting over at Spring Fertility. I went through several cycles and experienced terrible communication / lack of communication throughout (given wrong medication dosage, failure to communicate or review plans, which led to a last minute purchase of sperm to meet the deadline that wasnt timely communicated) and several of the doctors were demeaning and dismissive. I do not recommend.
