Planned Parenthood - San Francisco Health Center

I say its okay, instead of a five-star because I went in for an annual physical, I understand that not all planned parenthoods have this, but the person who set up my appointment was a doctor from the area who did the research before setting up my appointment. Luckily I arrived 30 minutes later before my appointment after starting to fill out my paperwork in him reading what I was there for they tell me that we dont provide the service here, then somewhat caddy turns to the other receptionist. To ask the question if they do physicals here and a little dismissal smirked and said no we dont. If you specialize in breast exams and pap smears maybe you advertise that more, and remove the appointment option of a physical if thats not operations that are done there.

The Doctors were amazing at Planned Parenthood.However, the receptionist was unprofessional and assumed Immediately that I was there for Birth-Control. I was not.The receptionist continues to ask questions with so much anxiety, she’s racing.I wanted it to end.When I saw the Doctor, everything was much better.ThanksPlanned Parenthood

The staff are all really nice and friendly. I felt very comfortable with every staff member I met when I got my STD checks and my arm implant. However you should plan an appointment on a “weird day and time” because it takes a while to check in. Other than the wait to check in, I really like it there :)

Recently got a Paraguard IUD here. I made the appointment a few days in advance and checked in with reception twenty minutes before my appointment. The facility was very nice and very clean. Everyone working there was very kind and professional, especially the nurses and the IUD technician who helped me. I felt very safe and welcomed. Both the nurses and the technician were very clear and thorough in explaining the procedure and what I would expect. I was provided a heating pad during the procedure that lasted five minutes at the most, and it really made a difference. Seriously very impressed with this clinic, just make sure your insurance is covered here! I made the mistake of not double checking, but that was my fault and avoidable in the future. They even called to let me know!

Beggars can’t be choosers in this society. As a woman, I’m glad there’s a planned parenthood in SF. It’s nothing close to perfect and the “optional” personal questions which feel kind of like an interrogation… aren’t that cool. I wonder if men have to undergo these question? Then there’s the “protocol” and other “regulations” on women’s care which go higher up than the individuals at this particular establishment. Let’s keep fighting for women and their right to equitable care.

Visiting PP was a new experience for me. The media lies quite a bit or at least distorts what PP does and can do. I thought it was a womens only (or family) clinic. They provide a great deal of services for both women AND men. Thankfully they proved STD testing services to lone males. I had an appointment and arrived 20 minutes before that but it was still 20-40 min after my appointment that I was see and a bit of a wait in the office while I was seen by couple people. STD testing is vital to physical and reproductive health and if I have to wait for it, so be it. However walk in clinics were a little harder to come by for full panels. I am grateful for what PP offers the community and though I had a longer than expected wait, it was still a positive experience. The sliding fee scale based on my income was acceptable too.

This center was so lovely! Very clean and welcoming. The receptionist was very thorough and patient in explaining everything to me. I was nervous to get my nexplanon implant removed and the CNM Laura was incredibly kind, patient, and helpful as she assisted me in gently working through my anxieties. The procedure was very affordable as well. Would most definitely go again and reccomend to others!

This place is a genuinely great establishment full of highly competent staff and they provide top notch care. But they did do something pretty spiteful. I did a urine sample for a routine STI test, and then verbally answered a bunch of personal questions, which made me feel pretty uncomfortable. And then I agreed to do additional testing which would require a blood draw, but then I was waiting for a really long time alone in the back room for the person to come do the blood draw, and I simply had to leave to attend to a time-sensitive matter. I even left a note to let them know this. A couple weeks went by and my test results from the urine sample were never posted to my account. So I called and it turns out they canceled everything merely because I left before they could do the the blood draw (which, remember, was to perform additional testing separate from the testing that would be done from the urine sample). They had everything necessary to do the original urine sample STI test, and they should have followed through with that portion of the visit. It was spiteful to not have followed through.

Incredible staff, everyone I interacted with was professional, kind, courteous, knowledgeable and warm. Beautiful facility, spacious, comfortable. Planned Parenthood is safe, friendly, and helpful. Grateful to have Planned Parenthood in the neighborhood.

Amazing service ive ever had!!Michael at reception was really nice because he spoke English really clearly and slowly so that I could understand as English is not my mother language.So was Claudia(maybe not correct her name but something like that) she was an assistant(she asked me some questions before doctor) some of questions were difficult to understand(hospital words are tough) but she explained to me using easy words, which really helped me.and Jessica the doctor. she was really nice too, she listened my situation and gave me some ideas to solve.no wait time, clean and great service!highly recommended!!

I never post reviews however I got my copper IUD a month ago from this Planned Parenthood. After weeks of crying and worried about all the negative reviews online, which are valid from every womans experience, I had the most comforting IUD insertion. Doctor Laura would remind me that I have control of my body and if I wanted to stop I could. The pain was a more of a bad period cramp than anything. If you have piercings I feel that it is not necessarily a sharp pain rather than just a push. I was more just so touched by how professional and warm everyone was. I hate how everyone gives this place a negative review just because of the wait like it is practically almost a FREE clinic and high in demand. I am so grateful and appreciative for Planned Parenthood.

It feels weird to review a medical provider, but its worth it. My experience was the best Ive had for a womens health exam. From the moment I walked in, discretion was at the fore-front of every staff members mind. For example, Jamie asked, when was the last time you had this type of service? Instead of announcing to the whole room I was there for a pap smear.I was taken back to an exam room and we went over a thorough history in a very non-judgemental manner. Sharon then came in and explained every step to the exam. It was the most informative and least stressful exam Ive ever had, thanks to Sharon explaining what she was going to do before and then again while she was doing it, as well as why.Once Sharon left, Olivia came in. She gave me the space to ask any questions that might have come up I didnt have answered before while still in private. As soon as we were back amongst people, discretion was once again displayed.The entire team was really helpful and informative with my lack of insurance, offering a list of providers that could help me with my other health care needs.This is exemplary care. I am now adding planned parenthood to the list of places I donate to regularly, because this should be affordable and available for everyone.

I go to this health center for a few years now and usually my experience is pretty great, the stuff is very friendly and professional. But the last few times was a nightmare. I scheduled an appointment for vaccination, took time off work, waited in line for 30 minutes, ended up without vaccine because they were out of it! Fine, together with a doctor we rescheduled my appointment for next week, and she said that she already called and ordered the shots. I took time off work next week, came back to the health center and guess what? yes, they are telling me they are out of this vaccine, they have to order it and reschedule my appointment.

If you’re scheduling online, make sure to come at least 15 mins early. They don’t tell you this when you book. I got to my appointment online but spent a good 20 mins in line. When I got to the front and told them my appointment time, they told me it was going to be a 30 minute wait to be seen because I was “late”. I explained to her I was on time I just clearly had to wait in line. This made no sense because I WAS on time. I had to reschedule because I didn’t plan on waiting 45 mins in all for an appointment I was on time for.

I was in and out in no time! Super professional staff, very respectful and not intimidating at all. And the multiple security measures to the building made me feel safe.Donate to these guys if you have the income!

Love Planned Parenthood & what it stands for *but* if youre going to make an appointment here, call ahead for a price estimate! I went in for STI tests and the baseline price for 4 tests (chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, HIV) were $155. Im currently unemployed and couldnt pay so just ended up walking home.Tests at Planned Parenthood didnt used to be this expensive. The Trump administration cut funding for PP and Im guessing they have to jack up their prices to cover costs now... But still, would be great to have transparent prices on the website or something just so people know ahead of time.

They took good care of me, made me feel safe and explained everything I needed to know. Good Staff

I don’t understand why PP has only 3 stars... yes you have to wait (a lot), and no the waiting rooms aren’t awesome.... but it’s Planned Parenthood! You want exemplary service with leather couches? Go to a doctor in Pac Heights. I’ve been going here for years throughout varying income levels and PP has always been my best option when it comes to Women’s service.

So I came to this clinic to receive STD/HIV testing and pregnancy testing to confirm my at home pregnancy test and the first two visits went very well, everyone was very nice and friendly. But today, was not so great. One of the assistants named Lindsey asked me if I was taking birth control. I told her no because of negative side effects I experienced from taking/using birth control and started listing off the side effects I had experienced. When I mentioned that I got yeast infections from taking it she tried to dismiss it as a side effect because birth control doesnt cause yeast infections, that is due to separate matters. even though i had never had a yeast infection before taking birth control and got a yeast infection faithfully every month that I did take birth control along with other issues and the moment I stopped taking birth control my yeast infections stopped and I havent had one since I stopped using birth control. It is completely rude to try to dismiss someone like that, and if you arent there to listen to your patients, maybe you should find a different line of work that isnt involved in the medical field. Every body is different, every experience is different. Dont tell me my experience isnt real.

I am a long time supporter of planned parenthood I do not think they are the same as when I was younger. Either that or they have no idea what to do with anyone over 40. I paid s for my visit to support the organization even though I have no income . They did not get a good sample so had to repeat. Again not a good sample. They then wanted me to do a more expensive test. Even though I already paid for a test I never got results due to ineffect exam. Kissed my money goodbye and ran to another doctor. So sad a pap clinic cant even do a pap.

My experience at this clinic was horribly annoying, being as patient as i am i let them poke me with a needle 4 times 2 for each arm bc they messed up the first one then after that they could draw any and no blood waz coming out and i am very concerned about what they did and they didnt even get all the blood.

PRO: Staff is super friendly and try to expedite service as much as they can.CON: Because the place is so small, the check-in windows is close to everyone waiting and whatever you say, if you dont say it really low, people will hear.

The staff here is amazing. There was quite a long wait when I went so get there early, even with an appointment.

Waited 2 hours from the time my appointment was set and still havent seen the doctor. Understaffed? There seems to be plenty of people at reception but no doctors.

Extremely long wait. People that came in after me were seen before me. I would not recommend this facility.

Each and every time, I make an appointment and arrive 15 minutes early. But I end up waiting an hour and a half to TWO HOURS just to be seen. Ridiculous.

Definition of great service and health care.

This is the best planned parenthood I have ever been to. And I have been to my fair share.My provider was Stephanie Nekoroski and there were two nurse practitioner assistants (?) (sorry I know this is probably not the right term, one’s name was Sophia). The staff was so friendly, caring knowledgeable, skilled, sweet, kind, helpful and overall just fantastic at what they do. I honestly kept saying exactly that to them throughout my visit. They reflect so well on the institution of Planned Parenthood. I had a great time talking with them and honestly thoroughly enjoyed everyone’s company. They made me feel so comfortable and honestly made it an enjoyable experience (which I am sure other gay men know it can be quite unpleasant).I went in for just a PEP appointment and left having checked every possible box and covered every test. My visit was so comprehensive and helpful, I cannot imagine better care unless it were also at a spa and they were serving cheeky mimosas. It even felt like a medical spa of sorts with their water feature on the way in. Very well funded, very well hired, and great facilities. So clean and new and comfortable.This is my go-to spot from now on. I do just wish they had a pharmacy internally because it would really be so easy for me. But again, I cannot complain.

Treated with respect and seen almost instantly. The course of action was determined with with my problem was. Very professional. They referred me to Cell, San Francisco plan parent Hood to complete the evaluation and course of treatment I needed.
