True Choice Medical Clinic San Diego - Womens Pregnancy & Healthcare center

I came for an annual wellness exam and to be specifically screened for cervical cancer. I do not have insurance and found True Choice through a Google search of clinics near me that offered discounted services.The office itself was clean, warm, welcoming, quiet, and confidential. The person at the front desk was kind and friendly with a quick and easy check in process.I was seen by Dr. Pigeon (male) who was attentive and caring for my exam. The female nurse came in during my exam to hold my hand and offer me support, as I expressed that while these tests are necessary, they are uncomfortable in nature and cause a lot of anxiety. Both the nurse and the doctor made me feel as comfortable as I could.My husband came with me to this appointment and while he could not be in the exam room with me, he was directed to the “Men’s Lounge” to wait for me. There was another male staff member in the lounge who was talking to my husband and shared that his job is to offer support, resources, and information to men who accompany women during their appointments. Although I was only here for an annual exam, we both found this to be a really refreshing and supportive approach where a woman could be being attended to in an exam room and her male partner could be experiencing questions or anxieties in the waiting room and the fact that there was someone there to offer support if needed, felt very genuine and proactive in efforts to care for patients.I was sent home with a folder with information on some health care history that I shared, which my past OBGYNs have never offered so this was also a really nice and appreciative touch.I was truthfully a little hesitant as I recognized that this location is next to a church and was nervous that I would be bombarded with religious influence, even though I was only going for an exam. I never once felt pressured or uncomfortable by any of the intake questions, staff members, or pamphlets around the office and seemed like they really emphasized the name of “True Choice” where options were seemingly plentiful and available for others in alternate situations aside from going for a wellness exam. I felt really taken care of throughout the entire duration of the appointment.This is a fantastic cost friendly and accessible resource to the community for both men and women. I have a background in social work and will be absolutely recommending them to anyone looking for a genuine and caring healthcare experience.

Im so thankful for them to make my heart at ease from pregnancy confirmation through ultrasound they are so very thorough about it. This center is a God sent for me.

Went in for some routine stuff and felt no judgment whatsoever. They were super thorough with basic facts and what to expect moving forward etc etc. I felt like I was in good hands. Highly recommend this place, it was so quick and easy!
