I trusted Dr. Shah not only because of his years of experience and record of success, but also because I quickly realized his work is about much more than the numbers. Dr. Shah, his nursing team, and all the staff at Shady Grove Fertility are absolutely amazing! I couldn’t imagine better treatment anywhere. I felt respected and listened to from day one. Although everything talked about was new to me and my husband, Dr. Shah and the staff took the time to walk us through everything. His analogies make sense and are very funny! Dr. Shah is personable, positive, and very knowledgeable. Although I usually prefer to see female doctors, Dr. Shah made me feel comfortable and put a lot of my concerns at easy. His confidence bleeds into you and your partner; giving you hope that you will be parents one way or another. Everything he said would happen, happened just as he prepared us. He is also the most friendly and warm doctor I have ever worked with; like he will actually give you a hug when you are successful! Truly, the BEST!

Dealing with infertility struggles is an incredibly difficult, isolating experience. Dr. Shah has such an incredibly caring and engaging bedside manner, he genuinely cares about each patient. With his help I now have 2 beautiful children, 21 months apart. I’ve never been sad to “graduate” with any other doctor, but Dr. Shah was like family! I actually cried both times I was graduated from his services- it was a journey we were in together and I knew I’d miss his calm, positive presence! His entire team just gets it. They know what an emotionally challenging time it is for their patients, and the entire Richmond team goes above and beyond to help keep you calm, comfortable, and informed. Dr Shah has changed my life, I’ll never be able to say enough good things about him!

Dr. Shah is one of the kindest doctors I’ve ever worked with. You will not get better bed side manner anywhere else. He cares deeply for his patients and he’s empathetic and understands the struggles you go through with infertility. So glad I worked with him. I have a beautiful baby boy because of his help. It is hard for me to even begin to put into words how incredible Dr. Shah and his ENTIRE team are at Shady Grove Fertility. My husband and I started our fertility journey back in the spring of 2022. We had been trying to conceive for almost a year with no luck. After speaking with Dr. Shah we were gutted at first to learn that having a baby the natural way wasnt in the cards for us. However, Dr. Shah was confident that with a little help from science (IVF) that we could have a happy ending with a baby. There is so much information that you have to learn when undergoing IVF and it can be very overwhelming. Dr. Shah and his nursing team went above and beyond making sure all of our questions were answered and we felt supported every step of the way. IVF is not a quick journey. It takes a toll on you physically, mentally and emotionally. However, the staff at every doctors visit welcomed you with a smile, and made me feel safe and supported. I cannot say enough kind and good things about Dr. Shah his staff (Sarah, Becca, June, April, Valerie, Rosie, Hannah). I get emotional even writing this because they helped me get through one of the darkest times in my life and helped us get to the greatest light in our journey with a positive pregnancy test! We are hopeful that in the months to come we will welcome a baby, and cannot thank SGF enough for all of their support.

I could not possibly put into words what a blessing Dr. Shah was in our lives. My husband and I went through 6 1/2 years of infertility and ultimately underwent IVF. Dr. Shah was the personality that we needed at such a low and frustrating time in our lives. He was upbeat, encouraging, and positive, and even through disappointing outcomes with some of the different routes we took, he was just as determined as we were to make it happen! I dont know that I could have gone through the entire experience if he had not been our doctor. He became like family, and once our last embryo was used and we graduated permanently from the program, I actually felt sorrow because I knew that chapter in our lives was complete. There would be no more appointments. It is truly a blessing to be able to say that you are sad to leave a medical team behind. I will always be eternally grateful for our three beautiful babies and I know I would have never been able to have become a mama without the help of Dr. Shah!

We were patients of Dr. Shahs for almost 2 years--from our initial inquiry about fertility through 4 IUI procedures and through IVF. Dr. Shah is a wonderful physician, and I cannot recommend him enough. He has a friendly, cheerful bedside manner, but he is also very understanding and compassionate. Hes aggressive with treatment when the situation calls for it, but never pushy or overly so. Dr. Shah is very hands on with his patients, and I honestly believe he has more hours in the day than a regular person! Ive had calls from him every day of the week and in the evening--he is very engaged in the practice and individual patient treatment. As our case become more difficult, he only became more engaged, and we ultimately felt like we had a true partner in getting to the bottom of our infertility and loss issues. We were thrilled to have graduated with a healthy pregnant, but we miss Dr. Shah and his team!

Dr. Shah is the absolute best. He has great bedside manner. He knows when to be funny and lighten the mood a bit and when its serious talk. He called me one evening at almost 8PM to update me. This was our first IVF experience and I am so happy to say that I am currently 9 weeks pregnant. It was sad to graduate from Shady Grove and leave Dr. Shah behind but I know its a great thing to be able to see my regular OB now. Thank you so much to SGF and Dr. Shah for assisting us in a 9 year long dream we never thought we would obtain.

From our very first meeting with Dr Shah, I knew we were in the best hands possible. Its very obvious that he truly cares and only wants the best for his patients. He always takes the time to explain everything and does so in a way we were able to understand. He is not only extremely knowledgable but is personable and made me feel comfortable from the start. After a surgery I had with him, he even gave my husband his cell in case we needed him! I can not rave enough!!! He is THE very best!!!

Dr. Shah and his medical team (Morganne, Rosie, Maggie) were beyond great going through the difficult road of infertility and IVF treatments. He shared his knowledge and helped prepared us as we embarked on the IVF journey. We had a positive pregnancy with second IVF cycle and with first embryo transfer. We are currently 21 weeks pregnant and there is not a day goes without us being beyond grateful for Dr. Shah and his team to help start this journey. They will always be part of our story as we share with our loved ones.

The journey to parenthood can be a long and emotional one. Ours was most definitely both. Dr. Shah and his team made us feel welcome and comfortable. They are kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable. Dr. Shah has a wonderful bed side manner that will put you at ease. He will answer all of your questions, and even give you a hug when you need one. The entire staff does their best to listen and understand you. Often times you’ll see one of his partners, and they too are kind and compassionate. We were treated as if we were family, and I’m so thankful. If you’re reading this, please know you are not alone. We have been blessed with a beautiful baby girl and I’m so thankful for Dr. Shah and his team.

My husband and I really appreciated Dr. Shahs commitment to our fertility journey. The process is undoubtedly difficult both physically and emotionally - with plenty of highs and lows. We are thrilled to be expecting our first baby via IVF with the help of Dr. Shah and everyone at the Shady Grove practice in Richmond. For a strenuous and trying process, our experience was guided very expertly by Dr. Shah every step of the way.

Dr. Shah has one of the best bedside manners I have ever seen in a doctor. All our calls and visits were always informative. His team is attentive and extremely helpful with any questions or concerns that arose during our few months working with them. We wish we would have seen Dr. Shah sooner and will definitely be back for future family planning.

Dr. Shah and I have been through quite the journey together, it stared back in December of 2018 when he performed my myomectomy. I was immediately impressed by his level of professionalism, compassion, and positivity. He sat down with my husband and I prior to my surgery to explain the procedure and reviewed with us the risks and benefits, along with answering all our questions, we left the appointment feeling confident in his skill. I followed all his post-surgical instructions and recovered beautifully.Then my husband and I returned to see Dr. Shah in January 2020, my husband and I were having difficulty conceiving on our own. Again, I was struck by Dr. Shah’s encouragement, empathy, and determination to find out what was going on and come up with a game plan. Although we faced challenges with COVID-19 and I didn’t always get to see Dr. Shah during my visits. Dr. Johnston- MacAnanny and Dr. Edelstein took good care of me and Dr. Shah would call later in the day with the findings of the appointment and to discuss the plan of care. Dr. Shah performed our 2nd IUI cycle that was successful and we are now expecting our first child April of 2021.My husband and I are truly grateful to have met Dr. Shah and cannot thank him and his staff enough for everything they’ve done in helping us with our journey into parenthood. I highly recommend Dr. Shah, he will be your biggest cheerleader through your fertility journey.

Dr. Shah was wonderful to deal with. He was positive, kind, and so helpful. He was easy to talk to and always made us feel comfortable and relaxed in what can be a stressful process! I would definitely recommend him and the SGF organization to anyone going through this.

Dr. Shah and the whole team at Shady Grove have gone above and beyond in their efforts to help my husband and I conceive. I can say that we were successful on our first round of IVF/FET! Dr. Shah is an amazing physician. He is extremely knowledgeable and has one of the best bedside manners I’ve experienced throughout this whole process. Every doctor and staff member has been amazing. Each of the doctors and staff made sure to explain things completely and thoroughly to make sure I understood.Dr. Shah helped navigate going through this process during the COVID-19 lockdown and kept us apprised of when our cycle could resume. He guided me through having to use the “mothership” of SGF in Rockville for my actual IVF/FET due to insurance. He made sure I knew he was captain of the ship, regardless of where I had to go for the actual procedure.I would 10/10 recommend anyone who is having trouble getting pregnant to go see Dr. Shah.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Shah. We struggled for two years to get pregnant and we had our beautiful little boy just one year after meeting Dr. Shah. He is hands down the best of the best. We are forever grateful!

I began my IVF journey with another fertility doctor at a different facility, however, due to my medical history including multiple heart surgeries, they felt I would be too high risk and eventually turned me away. When I found Dr. Shah, in January 2020 he wasnt intimidated after learning my medical history, as I had already received the OK for pregnancy Clearance, from my Cardiologist. We were ready to move forward! Although COVID-19 slowed things down for us, Dr. Shah made sure I was aware that the pandemic would NOT interfere with treatment. After many tests and appointments, we are PREGNANT! I am so sad to be discharged from Shady Grove, as Dr. Shah wont be my doctor anymore. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone and everyone!

My husband and I were recommended to Dr. Shah by my OBGYN after 2 ectopic pregnancies and a long struggle with infertility. Dr. Shah was fantastic in that less invasive and expensive options were attempted prior to the recommendation of IVF. When IVF was decided on he provided the actual likelihood of conception and carrying to term. We followed the medication regimen, egg retrieval, and embryo transplant and are now expecting a baby at the end of May. Dr. Shah made us feel comfortable and confident in our journey and when we are ready to attempt baby number 2, we will definitely be going back to see him!

I would recommend Dr. Shah and staff 100000xs over to anyone on their infertility journey. They are all very knowledgeable, compassionate and they are the best at what they do (there’s a reason their office is always busy)! It was so bittersweet being released. I remember feeling so hopeless and defeated on my way to see Dr. Shah for the first time bc this is never the path I pictured myself taking but after speaking with him and having him explain everything so thoroughly I left with a renewed faith that this could work. Dr. Shah and his staff are the best! Dr. Shah is very compassionate and takes his time with you answering all your questions. I transferred from the Fredericksburg clinic to Richmond because i heard so many great things about him… And he exceeded my expectations!

I highly recommend Dr Shah. First of all, I sincerely felt that Dr Shah was trustworthy, open and very knowledgeable. I personally asked so many questions and he addressed them all. He would give the best recommendation for the patient, he wouldnt do any unnecessary test or treatments to make money. my husband and I feel he is compassionate and cares about his job. It is hard to find a physician to spend the time and tailor the specific treatment just for you. He and his team know you well, they have a clear plan and sometimes more than one ( back up plan) like a decision tree for you. When you are given a roadmap, it really helps. One of the thing I really appreciated was Dr Bayrak responding to emails when I had concerns or questions I forgot to ask in an appointment. His replies were punctual, easy to understand. This journey can be difficult for some, so I highly recommend Dr Shah and his team to give you the best chance.

Dr Shah and his staff were fantastic. We have been trying for years and Dr Shah figured out why we couldn’t get pregnant. He never gave up on us. He was so committed to our plight. Now we are pregnant and it’s all because of his determination.

My wife and I went through 3 IVF cycles at a different fertility clinic. Each cycle resulted in a pregnancy, and each time we lost the baby in 3 months or less. The process was brutal; physically, emotionally, spiritually. At last, we found Dr Shah and his team at VFA. At our first meeting we explained that we were no longer interested in getting pregnant, we wanted a healthy delivery. Dr Shah was understanding, patient, and honest with us. He reviewed our history and began the 4th cycle, making adjustments to medications and timing. His knowledge, experience, and professionalism were obvious from our first meeting and remained throughout the process. Within the year we welcomed a beautiful, perfect, healthy baby girl into our home! What an amazing miracle! Thank you Dr Shah and your VFA team, for your kindness and for our healthy baby girl.

Dr.Anish shah is an talented professional and very concern with their patients . I have been struggling from infertility(PCOS) from passed 4 years. Then last year I went to him he did my treatment now by the grace of God and his treatment I m currently 7 months pregnant I would highly recommend Dr.Shah he knows how to make things happened. My husband and I are so incredibly lucky to have had Dr Shau as not just a doctor, but really more of a fertility coach. At Shady Grove, you really end up knowing just about every doctor by the end of the journey, since monitoring appointments are so instantaneous and frequent at different intervals. The point, however, is that while I didnt see Dr. Shau at every appointment I had, he was remarkably with me every step of the way, calling me constantly to check in, review my charts and progress and always had me ready for the next step. He called me after every single appointment to review whatever was discussed and what the next move was. On top of all that, he was extremely easy to talk with and light-hearted as well as optimistic, which during the toughest and most challenging time in my life, was invaluable. Our fertility struggles, like with most couples, was a puzzle that Dr. Shau worked hard at solving. To be honest, we still arent totally sure its solved, but regardless, I am now pregnant with a healthy baby due in May! The road can be long, twisty and scary but it just goes to show that with a talented and determined doctor, they can figure it out even as challenging a puzzle you might have! It was a tough journey with many ifs, it might be___ and lets try ___, but through it all we trusted that eventually this was going to work out. In our IVF process, it was still bumpy and we werent sure if our first round would be successful, but we got lucky and it did work! Even if it didnt work out, which was a very real possibility, Dr. Shau already had a plan for the second round to make that even more successful and I am really confident that had it not worked, we would still have had success within a few more months. Dr. Shau is an authentic, talented and wonderful doctor to work with. My husband and I frequently laughed that since he was so charismatic and friendly, upbeat and positive (which we know many doctors struggle to be as left-brained as they are), that Dr. Shau was like the Ambassador of Shady Grove. Moving on to a normal OB was really hard to do after Dr. Shau, because his easy-to-work-with friendliness made it very hard to find anyone who matches him (I actually had to find a new OB because after Dr. Shaus bedside manor, my current was clearly not cutting it)! When my husband and I go back to Dr Shau in the future for our next child, I am so grateful that we will have him to pick up right where we left off and have another baby with faster success.

Dr. Shah has been a lifesaver for me. I cant say enough how warm, kind and amazing I felt in his presence. He was candid about everything and I really appreciate that. Whatever he asked me to do, I did. And results show for themselves. My family and I cant thank him enough; what an amazing doctor!!

They always explain things so thoroughly. If you ask anyone who works in the office a question they always know the answer. They are all so knowledgable. These are very willing to lend a shoulder to cry on and give a hug when needed and that means a lot.
