Where should I even start?I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this doctors office, starting from the front desk. The staff lacked basic skills and displayed poor customer service throughout my visit. I left some important documents along with a form for the doctor, and they managed to lose them. Despite calling many times to request a follow-up, I was always told that someone would contact me, but that never happened.The consultation process itself was also frustrating. It starts with a nurse who clearly doesnt want to be there, and then it takes about 20 minutes for the doctor to come into the room. Doctor Chizoba Okwu spent only about five minutes with me, and there was a significant language barrier, which made communication even worse.The doctor could barely finish a sentence, my questions were not answered, and all that was ordered was a blood work, even though the same tests were done a couple of months before.After many visits to the location, I was repeatedly told the doctor was too busy to simply sign the same form (for my work) that she filled it out incorrectly three times. Nothing was ever finished properly. She would just look at me, give a poor excuse, and go back inside.The lost documents were never found, and no apologies were given either.I decided to give one more shot and went there at 5 pm (they close at 6pm) which I was inform by 2 receptionists that the doctor was going to finish with her patients and finish the form for me.. After one hour I noticed that everyone was leaving, and they even turned the lights off on me, but always reassuring that the doctor was coming soon.. When by 6:45 pm I havent heard anything inside the office, I realized that she just left, from a different exit and just left me there.. The whole building was empty.. And If it wasnt for the stairs I was going to be left LOCKED there .After all I went back only to get my papers back and dr Chizoba Okwu refused to see me, even with an appointment that she once requested to bring measurements of my blood pressure.I am laughing of how ridiculous is this situation and truly I would never expect this to happen to me. This level of disorganization and incompetence is unacceptable for a medical office. I would not recommend this place to anyone seeking reliable and professional care.

I usually have good things to says about services offered but ever since they don’t have a peds doctors at preferred location it has been going down hill. I provided forms to be filled out in October 2023 and forms have not been filled out and have been lost. They state to me for me to make an appointment for my kids after we have already been seen , I can’t even email or fax over school physical form to be filled out. No one answers the lines from the clinic since they have a call center. I will be looking for another clinic for my children.

They should fire some of these girls that answer the phone ! They hang up on you while you’re talking. They also tell you they’ll transfer you and then hang up.

Good morningI had an appointment with my daughter last February the 8.I made more than two weeks before an appointment for the gynecologist;My surprise when we arrived at clinic and they told me that I cant see the gynecologist because my daughter is a minor, why didnt tell me when I was to make an appointment?Because I lost time to go another place.If my daughter has a problem and she needs to see the gynecologist she has to see the pediatrician when she needs a gynecologist, sorry but this is not right.So what I suppose I have to do?Maybe looking for another clinic for my daughter

Scheduled an appointment with Dr Kenneth Madueke due to a phone call I received from the office to review lab results for blood work done with my toddler back at the end of August (meaning I was called a month later) Scheduled for an appointment at 3pm, it is currently 4:20pm as I am writing this review and I am still waiting to be seen. Was informed by the receptionist I was still waiting because the doctor was reviewing the lab work to ensure my child didn’t have to be seen.. I don’t understand why the doctor would wait until I am here for my appointment to see him to review the lab work rather than prior to my arrival. Very unprofessional on his behalf to inconvenience me and my time. Upon addressing him about his unprofessionalism, he never once took the time to apologize for the inconvenience and was coming up with excuses to justify his action. This doctor even asked me why I was there, meaning he is scheduling appointments not even knowing why. Then he has the audacity to suggest we do bloodwork again. This gives me the impression that he is scheduling appointments, regardless of whether or not there is an issue on hand just to be compensated. I will never be coming here again. I do not recommend this doctor to anyone.

Terrible. New Doctor called Dr. Germain?? She does not know what she’s doing. I got prescribed medicine without even knowing what I had… Then I had to go back and she argued with me and again prescribed another medication that was WRONG. And she diagnosed me WRONG. I had to run to urgent care after 3 different visits with this doctor because she doesn’t know what she’s doing. She just wants your insurance money! Do not go there!! Seriously this lady does not care about your well being! I literally had to go to urgent care and they took care of me right away

I was feeling unwell over the weekend and decided to venture close to home for an exam. I went to the Saint James Health- East location for an appointment. The staff was lovely, efficient and friendly. I never felt a moment of uneasiness the way we might sometimes feel upon entering a medical facility. The doctor who assisted me, Dr. Melinda Brown, was over the top. She was thorough in asking questions about the bad health issues I had over the weekend.Now I really feel like I am in good hands under her supervision! Did somebody say bedside manner? Dr. Brown knows the meaning of it and applies it so well. Not once did I feel bad about being in that place. From start to finish, my visit went positively. Thank you, Dr. Brown and staff members, for taking care of me! Excellence and professionalism were displayed at this facility.

The front reception and the medical assistants were all pleasant to deal with. However, the doctor, Primrose something, didnt care to remember her name, was so unprofessional and rude. She is by far the rudest doctor Ive ever dealt with. Shes very rude to her staff as well. I will not be going back there. My personal pcp was more than happy to help me with my daughters care and she is under his care now. So no, I will not be fulfilling the blood work scrip that rude doctor gave me. My daughter has already given her blood work to my doctor, her doctor now. Shame on you doctor! No bedside manners whatsoever. Horrible doctor. Shes a bully!! And to all the ladies working in the office for her, please find another place of employment. You deserve to be treated better.

I am extremely disappointed with the receptionist staff. They are rude and unkindly, and obviously I had to wait more than an hour for my appointment.

I am extremely disappointed in Saint James Health. Over the last year my visits at this doctors office has become aggressively worse. There is always miscommunication between the receptionists, there are long waits, and the doctor lacks empathy.

Dr. Brown is good but the staff dont care about you Im having severe shoulder pain been there 3 times in a month and still no relief. Receptionist never answers the phone. I had an appt today was supposed to get medication sent to my pharmacy and nothing Dr. Harpreet Kaur never sent it to my pharmacy like this is just unprofessional and ridiculous at this point how horrible this place is

Ive been going there for about a year. I had an appointment this week, but for some reason it wasnt my primary doctor. This doctor had a horrible aditude and disregarded all my concerns. I then told her that her attitude was nasty and she just walked right out. I dont reccomend this doctors office. Youll probably get a primary doctor and never see her again.

I have been a patient for almost over a year , I loved Gabriel as my primary care doctor. Now since Gabriel has left , it has been a drastic change to the work operations now that they have a new doctor . The new doctor has this office running so slow . I had a doctors appointment at 3:10 I was not seen until 5:00pm & left 5:30 which was completely such a waste of time , just for her to call me to come down to the office to tell me I was ANMEIC , I couldn’t believe it . Gabriel would have called me with my results and sent my prescriptions to my pharmacy instead of me going out of my way to tell me something that not life threatening . I’m changing doctors office . DO NOT COME HERE . AND I WISH YALL WOULD COMMENT BACK !

Dr brown is MY GIRL. i refuse to see anyone but her because shes perfect. i only give 4 stars bc i had to make an emergency visit with a dr i dont normally see and i was told id be seeing a female provider and in walks a male. annoying. he was very abrupt, interruptive and rushed to get out of the room. it wasnt until i expressed specific concerns that he became a little more caring about my situation and gave more time dedicated to me in the exam room. he did end up being more informative and helpful and i appreciate his change in approach the second time around. also the lab tech woman who was there today is fanF***INGtastic!!!!! ive never met a person who can draw my blood in ONE SHOT without a butterfly needle. give that woman a raise NEEOOWW!!!!also also, i see along with the renovations there has been an upgrade in staff and let me say 10s across the board. you ladies are doing wonderful. (this is coming from someone who is also an MA in a busy office. i see everything)

The worst service. They never answer the phone calls, and when they answer they only transfer me then hang up! I have tried to make and appt and for my surprise they never make them. I have spoken to different people and they can’t help me with anything.I’m going to change to another doctor because of this! This place is very bad!

It was a bad experience, a place with negative energy, from the concierge to the reception desk working in a bad mood, a rude environment and a lady espana looking stressed, the security guard chewing gum and not even wanting to work. And its not my bad day, I went to Seabra and the service was impeccable, so the problem is with the unprofessional staff.

Only I can say . I’mLooking for a doctor and this is so close to my house few blocks , but what I see here is the unprofessionalism of the staff there. That very concerning and has I read the reviews the answers to all the people who all have same complaint is the same response they all receive like it copied and paste . The doctors all should look at the reviews of all these patients and see it’s the front desk that rude. They should go for training or look for another position if they not happy with their job. Very sad ! People are not there to see a doctor because they all feeling good it’s because they dealing with something . People need to be more caring and understanding to peoples needs especially in a doctor office . If they continue to let their front desk receptionist treat people like that the doctors then are at fault as well

If it wasn’t for Dr. M. Brown, and a few staff members in the back area I wouldn’t even want to go to this place! The secretary are so unprofessional with their greetings, their poor communication or scheduling appointments, their poor body language, especially towards African American people! One of the secretaries at the front desk with blonde hair is so unprofessional it’s disgusting & disturbing! When you try to call about the issue to the office manager they put you on hold and never answer then the phone “gets disconnected”! I am so embarrassed for this place because of the secretaries especially being the first people you greet when entering an environment and normally sets the tone for the rest of the appointment. In which you should feel safe, calm, respected, positive, and working together for everything to move along smoothly! Especially with all that is going on in the world. Thank you again Dr. M. Brown your service is greatly appreciate and the other staff in the back area!

Needed a covid test for travel and they told me it would be ready by Friday since I travel Saturday. Apparently they only sent the test late on Friday night to labcorp.The lady that was taking care of our paper work was gossiping on the phone instead of paying any attention to us when taking our paper work. Extremely unprofessional and wouldn’t surprise me if this hospital was filled with more irresponsible people now looking at my current situation. Would not recommend at all stay away.Response: I did do it 72 hours prior. Do not try and put this on me because of your employees incompetence.

Dr. Brown is the best!!! The staff that works closely with her is very much appreciated. Dr. Brown listens to her patients and she cares about their needs. The downside is that the young ladies at the front desk have VERY nasty attitudes and barely pick up the phone.

The front desk staff are very unprofessional and disgusting. No formal training in communication. I don’t understand how this office is still in business and the Doctor still have patients coming there to see her. The whole staff need training or fired and replaced with people who care about the patients well-being in regard to your health and healthcare. Very unacceptable and disappointing especially in our black and brown community.

This facility is responsible for one of the most unpleasant experiences of our entire lives.We made our appointment for 3 pm; however, we were not seen until 5:30 pm. We understand that is normal to wait 30-40 minutes for a doctor but 2 hours and 30 minutes is simply unacceptable.Further, the staff was terribly unpleasant. All of the assistants working at the front were rude and became angry when we asked how much longer our wait was.Perhaps most frustratingly was when we asked how much longer, only to be told you are next and no more than 15 minutes on four separate occasions. If the staff had been honest with us we would have been able to leave and patronize another medical facility.Ultimately, this experience cost us roughly three hours of our lives (including travel time) we wish we could have back.We recommend not receiving medical treatment from this facility under any circumstances, as it provided for one of the most unpleasant and unprofessional experiences we have ever encountered.If there was an option to have rated this facility as zero stars, we would have.

I have been in pain and needed to speak with Dr. Brown as to if I should take a over the counter pain meds for my shoulder pain or come in to see her to be evaluated again. The front desk receptionists were not very helpful at all. They lied and put the phone down when I asked to speak to Dr. Brown as if I couldnt hear them talking. Then they hung up and wouldnt answer. On another occasion I was told Dr. Brown would call me about my shoulder pain and I never received a call. I even told the receptionists both times that Dr. Brown just examined me prior to me calling. You have to block your number just for them to answer and even then, Dr. Brown probably still wont get the message.

Came here from my insurance. Ms. Primerose whatever her name is , prescribe me medicine that I wasn’t even aware of. Came in for a second visit && they got me waiting in the room for more than an hour for the doctor to come in . The system here is soooo ridiculous!!!!

Quick waiting time & clean office. Dr. Brown is rude and inconsiderate. She dismissed all physical and mental related concerns I had and didn’t even address them. I was barely able to get a word out. Our conversation was less than 2 minutes before she walked away away from me. She barely wanted to see me by stating I should’ve never been on that floor (one of her staff set my appointment so they should’ve known). Very rude and uncomfortable. Will not be returning.

Out of my 15 years of battling anxiety, this wonderful Therapist, social worker, has helped me more than anyone has ever had and I’ve been to dozen of places in New Jersey and around the east coast. She will help you with what you need and she is kind and you’ll be in a better place in your life within a few weeks of seeing her. She’s in the fourth floor and you need an appointment so if you need help or therapy, call and schedule.

The receptionists are rude, they offend us in English, thinking we wont understand, Dr Novaes is a wonderful nurse, they will lose patients because of bad reception.

Receptionist are horrible with an exception for maybe 2 .. Dr. Brown is the absolute best! Get out all questions while in office. Front desk likes to Hang up on Patients and ignore when you call back. I ONLY recommend for Dr. Brown anything else go somewhere else

Terrible Im changing my doctor I have Doctor Brown never sees her but go to the 8th Street office only quick to write prescriptions cancel your appointments and yes I reported this to the insurance company.

My Gynecologist retired and I was looking for a new doctor when I came across this clinic. I was astonished when I found that it was close to my home and in a convenient location for me. I met with Dr. Hoyer and she was great. The nurse that assisted was very pleasant as well. I recommended her to my friend too and she fell in love. I am so happy I found another doctor I can trust.

My appointment was made for 11am . The wait time was horrible . Waited over an hour for a COVID test needed for my job. Waiting room is LOUD and CROWDED (unacceptable seeing that we are still in a pandemic) and the larger Blonde receptionist was inattentive and rude (rolls her eyes and gets smart wit the patients ALOT). City of Newark Should be notified for that unsafe waiting area, people really were standing on top of each other! The testing doctor was nice though , only reason for the star!

If I can give no star I would this place was great it was near where I live and if I wanted too walk I could but here the problem since I been taking my 3 year old too this office I had too change the Pediatrician 3 times and now that I have a 7 month old I cant even go there cause they have no doctor I call and the lady tell me call in a week the doctor getting train really what does this tell you . Stay away from here not worth your two hour wait even though you have appointment . Am really upset with such a close place too other people as well and they have too go to there other office which I felt like I was gonna get mug. No thanx

When I made the appointment I told them that I had earache, they told me come next week. I went they changed me $110 what doctor did was only go with a specialist. They changed for nothing and weeks later even sent me a bill to make one more payment. I have to demand them because I lost time waiting for the appointment and I got worst and had to go to the hospital in emergency. If SJH is not specialized in earache why get appointments for that illness

I was recently referred to St. James by a co-worker. This place is amazing!! It is brand new, and upon arrival I was blown away. Everything was clean, the staff was friendly, and also attentive. If you are looking for a doctor in Newark AND want a great experience, this is the place to go. I will definitely be back for all of my healthcare needs!! Thank you St. James for a great experience!!

The receptionist on this place are absolutely the worst. They answer the phone with an attitude they hang up on you without an explanation and when you try to call back they don’t answer or just do the same. This happened to me before but today was just the end of me coming into this place I called to schedule a vaccination appointment the lady told me to WAIT and she transferred me without even telling me she was going to, they never answered and when I called back she just hanged up on me oh and by the way I could hear her chewing on something (so unprofessional)

I have been going to this centers for regular covid testing inaide the building with outstanding service since the beginning of the pandemic but now they have a truck unit outside and the service is Horrible. We were standing in the rain since 7:45am, they began setting up at 8:30am. Definitely do Not recommend, find a different place.

Just a warning for new patients..I went there to be seen by a gynecologist because I needed an ultrasound. I paid the consultation fee of $120 and then received a bill at home of $620+ because of many tests that were done that I was not aware of. If I hadnt called them back and went there as well asking what it was for, I wouldve paid those $620.They then gave me a Im sorry card which gave me 70% off of the bill. My issue is not paying the 30% of the bill, my issue was being billed for things that I was not aware were done nor was I told I would get a bill at home. Very unprofessional. Do not recommend. 😐

It was the worst experience Ive ever had in a doctors office, they were so unprofessional it was ridiculous. The nurse drawing blood was rushing me literally telling me to hurry up while I was coming back from taking a urine sample, while she was drawing blood her & the doctor were hands on playing around as if in grammer school-pushing each other, bumping ones forehead into the others back, laughing and not paying attention to what was at hand. Couldnt believe that was a medical facility it seemed more like high school

My husband needed a Rapid Covid test after a close contact at work. We looked around and no one seemed to be able to get him in. Saint James Health was able to squeeze him in and avoid him missing a whole day of work. They care about their patients and treat them like family.

They are the worst by far doctor I’ve been to , they are unprofessional always giving you the runaround paperwork all over the desk also the doctor bump into me on purpose because I gave Attitude . Told the ceo and because I came off angry she said OK goodbye when all she has to do is look at the camera to see her physician dump into a patient smh the worst !! I already switch doctor I refuse to get treated like that by the way the physician who bumped into me was Dr. Brown she has plenty of bad reviews but still she’s there 🙄

Love their GYN, Dr. Walls she is very attentive and listens to your concerns. She makes you feel very comfortable in a sometimes uncomfortable time. Love her and would refer her to anyone.

Is a great place. You are called in about an hour tops. Depending on how many people are to be seen. Its clean. Its local. The doctors are nice and they speak the staff speak Spanish. One of the doctors is Porto Rican.

Staff is really good and have lot of experience. They provide good service every time. I am so happy to visit here and solve my problem. Thanks a lot. Nice doctor with good knowledge and experience. I really like good 👍

Great experience here. The wait was not long, I was seen quickly. The facility is very nice and brand new. Everyone that works there is very friendly and pleasant. They try to help you with whatever your circumstances are. I will come back!! Nice place!

They dont answer the phone, then I went there on the 2nd floor the lady told me to wait, after almost 10 min waiting she asked me if I had an appointment I said no , then she said well we can do nothing if you dont have an appointment. I mean now you tell me , and she didnt even ask if I wanted to make an appointment or said the date and time they had available it was like , we can do nothing you can leave now . Just ridiculous!!!

The nurse and the guy in the front desk were the reason why I never came back with my son. the guy is always rude and showing how bored he is at work.the nurse make my babys hand purple because of the medical malpractice.lack of profesionalism in all the posible ways.

Everyone I have dealt with at the medical center are wonderful, dedicated professionals. I am homeless at the moment and they are helping me resolve some health issues. It also appears to be a good place for young families to get health care.

Saint James is a great place to go to if you’re feeling under the weather or just need a check up for yourself or your kids. The staff members are all friendly and make sure you’re being treated with the best care.

Very Unrecognized , my wife had an appointment, I just checked once after a 45 minutes of wait and she literally bullying me. doctor Luz is rude ! I was thinking of doing my annual here , I’ll pass !

Beautiful facility, wonderful staff. Saw the Nurse Practioner today and loved her. Very detailed & thorough. Glad that I’ve chosen this group for all of my needs.KH

Dr. Heather Elepano is great my kids loved her. She is very attentive and doesnt rush her patients out.

They dont answer the calls, if they answer they are rude, but for everything you need an appointment, you go personal and they tell you to call for the appointment. I just changed to Dr. Brown and still cant make an appointment. Its a nightmare.

What would it take to get a manager to contact me owner someone to many bad experiences i recieve blood work the 31 my blood work says dr brown and i have some neg results no one has contacted me about this infection to get perscription or anything so i tried to see the dr 2 weeks later i was turned away and was told theres no reason you have to see the dr idk why she schedule an appt for you i told her my results she said we will call if anything is wrong NO ONE HAS CALLED NOW THIS WEEK I GOTO THE DR SIMPSON AND SHE GAVE ME REFERRALS AND ONCE AGAIN I WAS TD GO HOME I WILL CONTACT YOU WITH THESE REFFERALS AMD NO ONE HAS YET TO CONTACT ME AND ITS BEEN A WEEK ALREADY I NEED THIS DONE I HAVE MEDICAL ISSUES NEEDING ATTENDING TO AND MY RESULTS ALSO FOR MY BLOOD WORK THIS IS INSAIN literally have a list of things that has happened to me that require much more then just a conversation with a manager can someone comment with an email or phone number to speak to someone incharge only

The clinic is clean. Dr. Brown is fantastic. Shes very attentive, and caring. I would definitely recommend this clinic.

Adult Clinic attendant desk lady was ok, the nurse gave me the Covid-19 booster she was professional and kind.

Beyond unprofessional staff.... just wants you to change your care giver to the doctor there on the insurance card.... they dont know how to communicate over the phone or in person ... stay away !!!!

Love this place, doctors are extremely thorough and nice. They take the time to explain everything to you and staff helps out with insurance for referrals.

HORRIBLE.. went for my first visit here as a new patient and had to walk out the door before even being seen by the doctor.. the rudest staff i have ever met... i think that if we are new patients we should be greeted accordingly and the front desk staff was rude and inconsiderate and just plain lazy... what a shame the clinic was very clean and new..

Unfortunately with all this Covid situation, I had to go there a few times , they always give me an appointment and it was always pretty fast .I highly recommend Saint James Health 😊

In my opinion this site is rubbish, it is not the first time, especially Dr. Kenneth Maduere, I came with hateful pain and I had to wait 1:30 for them to give me the medication and I had to come personally to talk to the doctor so that he could help me. of a prescription for the medication because if I dont come I have to know how long I have to wait for the medication the resectionists are fine but the doctor I dont understand how there can be doctors who dont care a bit about the patients pain but in order to get paid they do it from The moment you give your name to help you and I called the manager but she said she would talk to the doctor but she didnt say anything, she just covered it up, people like you should be more professional with that, people like you can die

Dr Brown is perfect, but the service is always terrible, I had blood tests and went to get the results, and the girl at the front desk told me that she couldnt give me the results and I would have to make another appointment, when I arrived today they told me that there was no need for a follow-up and that the results were all normal, in short I lost my day of work for nothing and had to pay for the consultation for nothing. The receptionists are always in a bad mood and never provide good service, they always seem to have bad energy.I think you could improve the service by hiring people who really want to work, and from what I saw in the comments below this seems to be something common, with all people complaining about the service.

That is the worst clinic that can exist, they tell you that everything went well when in reality they dont even have the results. I had a pap smear and the results never appeared, they set me up for another appointment and when I lose hours of my work and pay for Uber, they cant serve me because the Doctor, you have more patients and you are leaving to bill my insurance, yes, but I will report it.

Well, actually someone told me about this place because they wanted attention for a very bad pain I have in my right arm but I wanted to see other peoples opinions first and apparently its not worth visiting... Ill keep looking.

The lady who served us today was rude. If you go, it is because we want to be sure that we do not have the Covid virus and if they do not feel like working, they should stay at home. They are people who are looking for work because they do not want to know about work in The time I was there they called to make appointments and I hung up on them. That person does not deserve to be in that chair, there is no way she was going to go to my house to do the COVID-19 Tex.

I really liked the service. I didnt wait more than 30 minutes. The girl at the reception was courteous and the doctor was super friendly and professional. I definitely recommend it.
