I tend to be anxious in medical settings and they were very welcoming. The entire staff ai had encountered: front desk, nurse, & nurse practitioner were all very kind and caring. Very inclusive, as well. I will be using them again in the future!

First type going here and very nervous about my exam but the staff here were absolutely angels. The NP and physician talked me through everything and never made me feel uncomfortable. The medical assistant had a great attitude and was able to make me feel comfortable as soon as I sat down. 100% would recommend coming here.

Everyone at Planned Parenthood is always so kind and supportive, and theyve done so much to improve my life. I go there for trans care (you have to be 18+ for their informed consent) and the process was so much smoother than I expected. I think the way they do things should be both the norm and the gold standard, and I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone 18+ looking for gender affirming care. I could talk all day about how much more comfortable I feel in my own body and what a difference that makes in my ability to live a happy and fulfilling life, but I want to focus on the care PP provides.Theyre very thorough in making sure my needs are met and my questions are answered, and they have sooo many resources. What really drove me to write this review was the person who helped me learn about options and the process for top surgery (mastectomy). Abe is very knowledgeable about surgeon options and is beyond incredibly helpful; he shared a whole wealth of knowledge and resources with me and really went above and beyond to answer my questions and introduce me to all the help out there. He even offered to help me navigate insurance coverage! He gave me suggestions on how to find a good therapist for trans care and what questions to ask them to make sure their letter will help insurance cover surgery, and later he even sent me resources on seeking financial support for what insurance wouldnt cover! I had high hopes on learning surgeon options, but wasnt expecting everything else he generously provided. His kindness feels so sincere, and he has cemented himself as one of the most genuinely helpful people Ive ever talked to.Lastly, I feel so safe at Planned Parenthood as a trans person. Theyve advocated for me when Ive had (minor) problems with the pharmacy in the past, and it makes a HUGE difference to see and feel that support when youre first starting out and youre scared of being treated poorly for who you are. There are kind people in the world, and you can find a bunch of them right here! I feel like I can just be me during my appointments. While all of my different health care providers are great regarding my transness, its funny that the place I go to for trans care is the place Im least preoccupied with my gender - because I know itll never be an issue! Thank you all so much for the work you do to improve peoples lives!

Love what PP does to provide for the community but their corporate practices are stretching their workers thin. Too many appointments are handled by too few people, and for those employees that have to travel back and forth to Louisvilles clinic its even worse. If they dont start caring about their workers and treating them like human beings, theyll lose them.

This was my first time at this location & I absolutely love how helpful planned parenthood has always been. Everyone was very caring & very helpful at this location. Highly recommend!! I was able to book an appointment online & got in the very next day & was given a lot of helpful info. The MA with black hair & glasses was very welcoming & is a great listener ! Thank you for the great experience .

Exceptionally professional, competent, and conscientious providers. Ancillary staff was also wonderful. Highly recommend for reproductive needs for any person; they are LGBTQIA+ friendly and provide trauma-informed care. Thank you for what you do PP!

I just left my first appt here and Im so impressed. My insurance is changing soon and my regular gynecologists office closed, so I needed to get my Nexplanon exchanged and Im on a time crunch. I made my appt online and it was incredibly easy and convenient. I showed up a few minutes early for my appt, was taken back to the room quickly, and didnt have to wait too long for the NP. This is my 4th Nexplanon, and it was literally quick and painless! Ive always been a big Planned Parenthood advocate, and Im especially grateful for their help today!

I love this place. I first went in November for a copper IUD placement. I believe the nurse practitioners name started with a a K, anyways she is always super friendly. Everyone at the front desk is warm and welcoming, I feel safe and comfortable going to them. Yesterday I went back to try a different form of BC, the medical assistant Blake, I believe was her name, was so nice and upbeat. She made sure she went over everything possible bc option I could have and answered all of my questions. Very helpful. I even got the date of my appointment wrong but they still saw me when I came in. Thank you Planned Parenthood, I really dont know what I would do with out you!

I am a big believer in Planned Parenthood and its mission. I went to one of the Planned Parenthood locations in Lexington for all my gynecological needs and had a fantastic experience, so when I moved to Louisville, I automatically went to Planned Parenthood to get a birth control consult.I had so many problems with this location, I dont even know where to start. When I went in for my initial appointment, the NP had left early unexpectedly and so I was not able to get an exam. No one called to let me know, so I drove out to New Albany for nothing. When you call the number listed for the location, you actually speak to a representative in a call center. They will not let you speak with the office directly, and the information the call representatives give you is often wrong. When I had to reschedule my second appointment, a representative told me that I could stop by the office and get a pack of pills to carry me over. I got there and the receptionists said that I had to have an appointment first. Again, the NP wasnt in, so they couldnt consult with her about my situation. The receptionist was rude and condescending, and simply would not listen when I explained my plight. I had to call the call center again and explain what had happened. Finally got pills several days later. When I was finally able to make it in for an exam, the NP was polite and friendly, but clearly had not read my chart. I told her I wanted a new birth control because I was breaking out a lot, and she said well well just put you on this and see how you do. Theres no way to really tell. She said youve been on this medicine before, so Ill give you a years prescription. I had only been taking that med for a month. All in all, an incredibly frustrating experience. This location needs to change their phone system so that you can speak to the office directly. I got two stories on every issue I had, one from the call center and one from the actual office. NP was nice but did not take the time to read my chart or let me explain what I needed.

I am a firm believer in the Planned Parenthood mission which is why I choose to go here for all my gyno needs. I recently moved to the area and have gone to the new albany location 3 different times for annual exams and meds. The staff and the doc have always been very very friendly and accomodating. One of the appointments, I did have to wait a little longer but that is expected at every doctors office.I see that one of the reviews below stated that you cannot call the office itself, you have to go through the call center. That has been standard procedure for every PP I have been to.The doc has always been knowledgeable about her work and answers all my crazy questions when I go in.Overall, very pleased with this location and will continue to go back.

Love the staff but seems they have issues with scheduling. Appts are confirmed and then canceled day of. This has now happened more than once. I will continue to support PP but will personally have to change my healthcare provider. Bummed

My appt was at 11:20am today, and it’s now 12:28pm. I still haven’t even been called back. I asked why, and the woman tried to get an attitude with me even though I explain that I left work (yes, there are patients who do actually have to work everyday since Planned Parenthood here doesn’t realize this), and it’s over an hour passed my appt. time. She said I can just reschedule. Why would that make any sense to have to reschedule when I made my appt., I was 10 minutes early to my appt., I’m the one they are giving an attitude to, and they obviously don’t care about appt. times or care that they have patients that have to make a living to pay bills?
