Planned Parenthood - Long Beach Health Center

SITUATION:Inappropriate disclosure of information; slow response of insurance team to front desk.BACKGROUND:Date of Visit: July 8, 2024APPT TIME: 1305I booked an appointment with Planned Parenthood located at 2690 Pacific Ave Suite 370, Long Beach 90806.I arrived 15 minutes earlier than scheduled and signed all the required paperwork.After completion and returning paperwork, the receptionist tells me that the appointment was to be an hour and a half wait.My friend and I returned to our seats at the reception to patiently wait.45 min into the appointment, we noticed patients without appointments being seen sooner than we did.I came up to the same receptionist who had previously helped us. To which she lied stating that she attempted to call me but couldnt get a hold of me or find me. I was sitting 3ft away from her window nor did I get a phone call.In concern to her possibly calling the wrong number, I asked what phone number did she call. She then stated that she did not attempt to call me cellphone but tried to call out to us but she couldnt find you anywhere. Again, I sat directly in front of her window.She continued to explain that she wanted to let us know that she did not hear back from my insurance. To help expedite the situation, I asked what number did she attempt to call. She told me that she didnt know as there was an insurance team that handles the verification.At 1358, she calls my name up to the window and tells me that my copayment was to be $175.There absolutely was no way that my insurance copay was that much. I sat back down and thought about it and decided to try the health center next to the thereafter store Out of the Closet that provided free testing at an immensely clean environement(which is where Im completing this review).

Trust the reviews i regret wasting my time; I was rushed home while still unstable and in extreme pain, with threats to call the ER rather than inform me my options and situation.

I set an early morning appointment on a Saturday and was in and out within an hour. Pretty typical for a doctor’s office. Employees were efficient and clear in answering all my questions, and the doctor who came in to speak with me was so kind. Don’t let negative reviews deter you from coming here for the help you need.

I was so nervous about going in to this location after reading the reviews. But jeez were they wrong.This location is by far the best PP Ive visited. They were super nice, got me in as a walk-in within 10 minutes. My entire visit was 45 minutes from the second I walked in to when I left. They were all so kind and patient, and I felt safe. Thats something I cant say for all of the offices, but its the people outside that are there just to harass and bully women that usually make it seem unsafe and there was none of that here. Please dont let the sour reviews keep you from coming here, theyll take care of you. Until then, take care of yourselves and stay safe out there. 😁❤️

I showed up at 10am for my scheduled vasectomy, filled out & returned the intake forms, and sat down. After 1pm, after noticing several people who showed up after me being served before me, I walked up to the counter to ask how long of a wait it would be. I was told that there were several people ahead of me, and that I should go eat lunch. I went to eat, and finally they called me back late in the afternoon. I was the very last person treated that day. The doctor complained to the nurse about how busy the day was while he cut into me before the local anesthetic had even started to work.I dont know how a 10am appointment leads to being the last person treated for the day. The procedure was unnecessarily painful and unpleasant. Wish I could give zero stars!

Took my partner to another facility upon arriving. We did not like how the place looked, nor the vibe from staff. Another woman told us her appointment was at 815 am and we arrived at 1115am.Not sure why they express the importance of scheduling an appointment if they make people wait like that. I understand if it happens and they fall behind, but most of these reviews are about the same thing.

Full staff is great. Front desk girls are helpful and welcoming. Medical assistants and providers were comforting and easy to talk to. I can’t remember their names but Alyson was one of the providers to help with my services.

Do not come here - the recent reviews do not disappoint - this is the WORST facility, if you make an appointment they DO NOT guarantee it and say the wait is 1.25 hours to 2 hours. With 4 employees behind the desk, only one intaking patients. I waited 17 minutes in line at reception to be told to wait that long with an appointment in place. And I came on my lunch break. ZERO STARS.

Some of the reviews worried me before my visit, but I actually turned out to have a great experience with all of the staff. Everyone was friendly, compassionate, and professional and I never felt judged or discriminated against. I had a morning appointment and I was only there 3 hours compared to 6-8. They were moving along very timely.

So I have been coming here regular for my birth control refill. And with an appointment it never seems to fail, that the wait time is always an hour 45 mins or even longer, this is with an appointment. So this time I had an appointment at 10:50am 11/12/22 receptionist states its too early, okay no problem. She states she is going to switch me to a walk-in , i asked how long is that going to be? She checks not long there is no one in front of you. I checked all in by 9 am my appointment was at 10:50 now i am a walk in. I will keep you all posted with what time I get out of here and this is just for a quick shot an lets go next.... hahaha

They took my boyfriends urine for an STD test over 15 days ago and are REFUSING to give him his medical results. when we called and told them theyre being recorded because we wanted to have assurance his results would be submitted they hung up on us. THEY ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED and are unprofessional. do not go to these people! they only want to take your money and violate your rights! theyll be in court soon enough now that my lawyer is aware of the situation. get a lawyer too if youve visited this decrepit establishment.

A few weeks ago I had an appointment towards the end of the day. As I sat in the waiting room I observed the check in staff turning away a walk-in because it was “past their deadline”. It was 3:40p and I counted myself and one other person waiting.. with appointments.. Anyway, as soon as the visitor left the front desk staff openly started laughing and making rude remarks about the visitor. After that I watched/heard the staff laugh at a woman who had accidentally stumbled on her way out once she left. The walls are paper thin. They didn’t seem to care who heard. They sounded like the mean girls you deal with from high school/college. Now, I gave 2 stars because the staff that I dealt with personally were professional. I was hoping the reviews about this place were wrong (some are perhaps exaggerated) but after my own experience, I won’t be coming back until the issue’s addressed. I don’t believe it’s every staff member but it’s too many. I hold PP to high regards so please don’t let this review discourage you from going. Just maybe not this location. The staff need a serious review & reality check.. several of them need to be fired ASAP. I recommend them being replaced with more discreet, compassionate people.

Very unprofessional, I wouldn’t dare schedule an appointment here. The employees here are rude, they don’t have any patients, they always talking and playing around. They changed my appointment time without telling me. I came in for a check up at 8:45am and they changed it to 8:50am (wasn’t a big deal, since it was five minutes) but was told the doctor doesn’t come in until 8:50am and I’m the first to be seen. I waited 30min watching the employees play around. Mind you nobody was in the sitting area but me. Every time someone new came in, they was greeted rudely but they was seen right away. After another 30min I cancelled my appointment and walked out. I was only to be seen for a check up that’s it.

The WORST ONE TO GO TO! The wait is one hour and a half. They’re always behind schedule

I had an appointment early in the morning and the staff was very nice and welcoming. My visit couldnt have been more pleasant and the doctor was very comforting ajd made me feel secure! I will definitely be coming again.

The worse experience ever!! As a professional person in the medical field. The staff was unorganized and clueless. We had a scheduled appointment and waited 2 hours. the facility was not full! They had no idea of the order to see their patients and only one doctor was present working! I would not recommend this facility to anyone!!

The staff were friendly everything went by smooth , I had a walk in and I was seen within 15 mins everyone was nice and friendly . I was in and out, got what I needed within the hour very helpful

**Update** service is still slow and front desk woman Frida was very rude denying me service wrongfully and I wanted to speak to a Supervisor she said one was not available!This place used to be fast but now if u have an appointment you have to wait 1 hour to be seen just to take your vitals, then you have to wait a couple more hours to finally be done, slowest service ever!

Zero reason to make an appointment. I sat in their waiting room for almost an hour during my lunch break and told the lady I had a limited amount of time and they continued to do nothing. A lady before me had an appt after me and was taken back before me. Unprofessional and unable to do a simple job.

The front desk girls are nice but the nurse was rude. She was totally dismissive of my concerns almost like she just wanted to get patients out.

Every time I come I get seen an hour later. I don’t understand why they book people at certain times and not meet the time. I get it COVID and maybe there isn’t enough nurses due to the restrictions. But why do they overbook? It’s ridiculous! I’ve been coming here before COVID and has been the issue then.

The wait time is ok when you have an appoinment but they still make you wait atleast 30 mins to be seen even after your exact appointment time. However, a set appointment is definitely better than a walk in. I wouldnt come back to this clinic, too small to be waiting so long in the waiting room.

Had an early morning appointment. After completing the paperwork my wait was about 30 minutes before being seen. Felt like I was in and out and most of all the staff that assisted me were friendly and professional. Thanks

I’ve never had any issues with getting my blood drawn or getting an IV put in. But I went in for a procedure here & the nurse messed up on finding my vein and she left my arm so swollen and bruised to the point where I couldn’t even move my arm a certain way because of the pain.

Always a 2+ hour wait, not sure why I even still come here. They have no respect or consideration for peoples time. Making an appointment is futile. I recommend going somewhere else.

All needed to be said is dont go here the workers are rude, judgmental, and un professional, dont even have good on the phone communication because they dont know how to! And Im not talking about pronunciation or language barriers just straight up rude!!

Lady was rude and disrespectful I have no idea where they hired someone like this .they accommodated but made me wait 2 hours to literally give me a medication even tho no One else was there .. Ill never come back to this location . And I hope they hire better people .

Had to go there during this Covid time. Staff was very professional and personible. I was skeptical because of the reviews, however I am truly grateful for their attention and sweet Care in my time of need.

Place is horrible , has no hospitality or concern of your needs of your sensitive situation . Plus don’t even bother scheduling an appointment, you still have to wait an hour plus after your appointment times passes . Worst staff, worst planned parent hood in Los Angeles.

Extremely rude staffing in the front the grill with the horrible eyebrows is a c**t and the Spanish girl is also reude takes long time to get anything done they didnt remember to book my appointment so took me a 2 hours to be seen DONT COME to this location !!!!

They gave me an appointment for 12:30 they go to lunch at 1.....why? Justwhy??Came a second time and their system was down.Came a third time and waited over an hour to be called

Made an appt at 10:45 they made me wait over an hour to be seen and I had to finally ask what the deal was.....they forgot about me....NEVER coming back here.....now Im sitting in the exam room waiting again.....this is ridiculous and unprofessional....now I will be late to work, even though I did the right thing and made an appt.

They were nice. Sure. But they did EXACTLY what they said they never do which is TURN PEOPLE AWAY FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO PAY.

Horrible staff, they make it very difficult to receive services. Rude people working at front office and they speak negatively about customers. Never come here

Should be called in by numbers for patient privacy instead of everything being outloud in the waiting area!

I just waited over 30 minutes to make an appointment at once I was up next the system went down and they told me to call back later now I have to wait over 30min again just to make an appointment
