Dr. Scott is the most down to earth Doc I have ever met. His practice is clean and intimate where you dont feel as if you are being shuffled in and out. The receptionist/assistant is great and keeps you informed. When you book your first appt you will watch an informational video and then have a quick consult with the doc where he eases your nerves and answer any and every question. The day of the procedure was perfect, 15 min, in and out, pain free. Dr Scotts bedside manner was perfect. You will leave wondering y u were so worried.

I was extremely nervous going into this but Dr. Matson and staff were simply amazing. The procedure was quick and easy and I was able to walk out with little to no pain. As I write this I am 4 days post procedure and essentially back to normal. My reason for not being 100% at this time is most likely just due to nerves. If you are considering a vasectomy Dr. Matson’s office is really the only place to go

I was initially slightly nervous given the obvious anatomy involved in the procedure. However my experience with Dr. Matson went flawless. Very personable and professional, I did not feel a thing aside from the initial “prick” of the local anesthetic. Stayed off my feet as much as possible for the first 2 days as advised and I had no swelling or anything. I’m about 4 weeks out at the time I’m writing this and I have been back to normal since the first week with no issues.

Initial appointment was super simple and easy. Dr. Matson explained everything well and I left with no questions.I had the procedure today. I have anxiety so I opted for the Nitrous Oxide which you control how much you want and at your own pace. It made me feel more at ease once things got started The procedure was super easy and pretty much painless. Numbing injections were the only uncomfortable thing but even that was nothing. Dr Matson talked to me during the whole thing and made the whole experience comfortable. Highly recommend this office.

Dr. Matson was GREAT! He made me feel comfortable about getting a vasectomy and thoroughly explained how the procedure would go and provided honest expectations and potential outcomes. I can honestly state that the procedure went better than anticipated. I felt NO pain. Its now been 1 week post procedure and I had no complications. I iced on day 1 and 2 as recommended as a precaution but to be honest, I barely used ice on day 2 and was back moving around as normal by day 3. I am extremely happy that I went with Dr. Matson for this procedure! I highly recommend him.

Dr. Matson is extremely professional and cares about his patients. He makes sure his patients feel comfortable before, during, and after the procedure. My procedure was over in what felt like 15 minutes. When I say it was absolutely painless, I mean it was so painless, that it seemed so ridiculous to be so nervous in the first place. Dr. Matson is the best! I had my vasectomy yesterday and it was so quick, easy and painless that I feel silly having had any anxiety beforehand. Dr. Matson is very personable, has great bedside manner and is excellent at what he does. He and his staff prepared me well in advance of the big day and did everything necessary to make me feel comfortable during the procedure.I opted for the Nitro, which definitely helped take the edge off. I would recommend this option if you are anxious going in.Thank you, Dr. Matson, I couldn’t imagine having gone elsewhere!

Very happy I went with Dr. Matson for my vasectomy. After an initial meeting with another doctor who I was not comfortable with I reached out to Dr. Matson because he practices the no needle/no scalpel technique for vasectomy. My initial video chat was great and Susy got me right on the schedule for the intended time frame I had in mind. Follow the pre procedure rules and day of the procedure is a breeze. There was virtually no pain whatsoever. Dr. Matson had a nice TV for me to watch while he did the procedure and chatted with me the whole time. At the end I actually didnt think we were done since I felt almost nothing but some slight pressure down there during the procedure. I honestly think I was in the office for no more than 30 min total. Follow the post procedure guidance of ice, rest, etc. which he give you and you will be back to normal in just a few short days. Make sure to go to your follow up for your analysis to make sure you get the all clear the procedure was a success. I can not recommend Dr. Matson enough. Making the choice to have a vasectomy scares some due to the idea of the pain down there, but honestly its really no big deal especially if you go with Dr. Matson.

I did A lot of research on different Doctors before making my choice. After reading all of the reviews on here, I made the appointment for the consultation. After speaking with Dr. Matson, I was 100% happy and chose to have it done by him. Between our conversation and all the reviews, I was more anxious than nervous. The procedure was unbelievably easy. Dr. Matson was great and before I knew It we were done. There was no pain. The worst part of the whole experience was laying in bed for two days and icing the area on and off which is not that tough to deal with. I did The procedure Friday morning and by Sunday afternoon I was out having lunch with friends. If you’re considering the procedure, this is the place to go. Once you see how easy and painless it is, you will wonder why you waited this long to get it done.

Dr. Matson and his staff made me feel comfortable about the entire process. I was able to get a appointment for the procedure quickly and the procedure for the Vasectomy was painless. I took the required time they suggested for resting but felt pretty good the following day. 3 Months later the the test showed that the procedure took so now my wife doesnt have to worry about taking birth control and its side effects. Overall an amazing experience and would recommend to anyone who would like a quick, easy and pain free experience.

I had an amazing experience with Dr. Matson. The process starts with a consult, and Dr. Matson was very methodical and clear in explaining the process, its risks, etc. Between the handouts and the video, I came out with a solid understanding of what was going to happen.Now, if youre like me, you worry a bit too much about an upcoming procedure or uncomfortable event-- and then it happens, and its fine.The vasectomy itself was, and I cant stress this enough, completely painless. It took about 10 minutes, was 100% pain-free, and not even that uncomfortable.In fact, the only pain Ive felt throughout both the procedure AND the recovery is a stinging sensation during the ride home, as I waited for my Tylenol to kick in.And that was the only time I took painkillers. I iced as instructed for a couple days, but there was no pain. I slept fine, and as others have said, the worst part about recovery is having to lay on your back for two days. But hey, take advantage of it!Ive got a couple buds who sooner or later will be heading down the vasectomy road, and you bet Ill be referring them to Dr. Matson.

Dr. Matson (Scott) is outstanding at what he does. I had heard great reviews and Im really happy I went to him. Everything from scheduling through the consultation and procedure were top notch. The procedure was quick, very mild (and I personally have a high tolerance for anesthesia so Im an extreme case) and Dr. Matson talked me through the whole thing. Recovery was quick, a couple days and a little sore. Ice and some Tylenol made things totally manageable. Importantly, I followed ALL his instructions to the letter. Everything from prepping the night before to recovery. I cannot recommend Dr. Matson enough if youre looking for someone to perform this procedure for you.

Ive never reviewed a single product or restaurant, whether good or bad. I felt compelled to share my story with Dr. Matson. My previous Dr wasted my time with a consult only to tell me on the table that I would be a problematic patient, which required full anesthesia at Yale. A friend referred me to Dr. Matson. At the consult I told Dr. Matson what my previous Dr had told me. Dr Matson agreed that I would require additional time and consideration. He left me feeling confident that I was in good hands. Prior to my appointment he reached out 2 times to talk me through what was going to happen, to reassure me we had a plan that would be successful. Like every man facing this procedure, I had irrational stress due to the nature of the procedure. During the procedure Dr. Matson kept the mood light, while performing the procedure exactly as he described it. That evening he called me to check in on me, to make sure I was doing OK. Dr Scott Matson is not only a phenomenal Dr, but a good man, a mans man that cares and understands what his patient is going through. If you need a vasectomy, I highly highly recommend you go and see Dr. Scott Matson!

This is by far the most friendly and well run doctors office I have ever entered. Dr. Scott Matson is the best in his class, extremely personable, and efficient. Going into this very stressful and uncomfortable procedure my brother in law assured me that Dr. Matson was the greatest of all time when it came to performing vasectomy’s. He was not lying. Dr. Matson made the entire process very comfortable and painless. I knew from the second I walked in that I was in good hands (no pun intended). After the process was complete I can genuinely confirm that Dr. Scott Matson is the Tom Brady of performing vasectomy’s. I wouldn’t recommend anyone else!

From start to finish I’m glad I listened to two previous patients and chose to go here. I try to avoid doctors and needles like the plague, but it was definitely a lot easier than what I had imagined and the Nitronox (like laughing gas) that they offer certainly helped deal with it. The best vesectomy doctor in Connecticut. The procedure was zero pain; absolutely no discomfort. Anyone really hesitant like I was should see Dr Matson. He’s a pro. This is how mine went. 1. We talked for few. 2. He prep (numb- no pain numbing). 3. Ten minutes later he said he’s done. I didn’t believe him when he said he was finished. I didn’t even knew he started and to tell the truth, I was scared to do it. So glad I went to him. All thinking about doing this should see him. Trust me you won’t regret. I went Dr Matson for a vesectomy and of course your nervous and anxious about getting. But my experience was nothing less then EXCELLENT! My procedure was super quick and painless. Hes also really nice guy. I couldnt recommend a better Dr for a vesectomy. Look no further guys! Do it!!

Walking into the unknown my nerves were sky high. Dr Matson reassured me that it was normal to be nervous about this life changing procedure. Dr Matson was excellent at reviewing how the procedure would go and what I would need to do following the procedure for a successful “empty chamber”. The procedure itself was practically pain free outside of the initial numbing process. Ice and rest seems to be the keys to success.

I saw Dr. Matson in the last weeks of December 2016 for a vasectomy. He was flexible and allowed me to schedule the preliminary meeting and procedure into the same one hour block as I had met my insurance deductible and wanted it all done in 2016. He took the time to chat with me and answer all my questions regarding the procedure. The procedure itself lasted 15 minutes or so and was an absolute breeze. Very little discomfort and I was on my way quickly. I pretty much felt like myself the next day but took the Drs advice to take it easy for the weekend. He really stresses this part- *listen to the doctor* and take it easy for 3-4 days to allow yourself to heal up and avoid any issues.I returned to him today for my 3 month check in. I provided him a semen sample and he confirmed the procedure was successful. I am so happy I listened to the other men who chose Dr. Matson for this procedure. Dr. Matson really makes you feel secure about a surgery that most men probably find stressful (vasectomy). He explains everything, allows you to ask all your questions and then gives easy to understand answers. His surgical technique is gentler than expected. If you follow all his directions you shouldnt have any issues. And if you do (mine was unrelated to surgery) he is quick to respond. He spends the time and it makes a huge difference.

This review will be comprehensive for the sake of easing unsure patients and family members:Summary: The surgery was painless and quick. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Matson to anyone seeking a vasectomy.Details: I am a prior Navy medic who worked in surgery. Not only do I have experience with pain management for my doctors patients, but Ive also undergone a few surgeries myself. Of any surgery, this was by far the least painful and invasive thing Ive ever experienced. To start, Dr. Matson uses a pen-like device to inject Lidocaine in six different spots around the surgical area to completely numb everything. The device sends compressed Lidocaine in to the sites without a needle, which takes away the daunting pain expected from needle injections. I expected the injections to be painful, however they were hardly noticeable.To compare, when you give blood to the Red Cross, they use a little lance pricker on your finger to get a drop of blood. Well, each if these injections were actually way less painful than even that. I was actually surprised. Dr. Matson said the injections would feel like a rubber band slapping against your scrotum, but that was an overstatement. It honestly wasnt painful at all.During surgery, I didnt feel any pain at all. I did, however, once feel a sort of tugging which was more unexpected than anything, but was otherwise completely painless. All throughout the entire process he had me watch a relaxing video of David Attenborough talking about birds. Dr. Matson and I talked throughout the surgery about different medical stuff to pass the time.All together, the surgery took merely ten to twenty minutes, possibly less. He was very thorough and organized, having an entire tray table full of equipment and gauze which he systematically used during each step. Before going in I had worked my nerves up, but it was completely unwarranted.Afterwards during the post op, itll take maybe one to two hours before you begin to feel your testicles again, and the pain involves minor throbbing which can be handled with an ice pack and elevation. My testicles turned a dark red, but otherwise were fine within a day or two.My final advice:If you have a vasectomy, do NOT have unprotected sex until after 3 MONTHS post surgery. This is a BIG deal! The reason is even though your body still produces and delivers sperm (which then has nowhere to go thanks to the vasectomy, and so is reabsorbed by your body), you still have leftover semen hanging out in your urethra which when you have sex can be delivered in to the vagina, causing impregnation. It takes about three months after the surgery for all the leftover semen to no longer remain in your urethra. Afterwards, youll be semen-free and ejaculate the same amount of sperm (just without semen). I specify this, because I actually know a guy who got a vasectomy, but only waited a month after surgery to have unprotected sex with his wife. The result is she got pregnant, and he assumed the surgery was a botch. The only thing that botched was his ability to follow simple directions.Overall, my experience with Dr. Matson was phenomenal and professional. Id suggest his clinic and practice for anyone looking to get a pain-free and effective vasectomy.

The whole experience was great one as a nurse i was quite informed about most medical procedures yet dr matson did take his time to make sure i was conftable with the procedure and that i was doing it for all the right reasonsas the procedure day was simple pain less and actually a pleasant surprise i did expect more discomfort then it was as a nurse i was surprised and and it was a good surprise i thinks is the only elective procedure i will say its a go and definitely recommend dr matson to anyone looking or interested in vasectomy
