UnityPoint Clinic OBGYN - Fort Dodge

Dr. Sexton and her team are amazing! Throughout my whole pregnancy (and this was my first) they did a great job at walking me through each worry I had and even offered to see me for things that probably weren’t a big deal just to ease my mind. My labor process was perfect and smooth and Dr. Sexton did a great job explaining everything that was happening and making sure it was what I wanted. I would 100% recommend her and her team.

The only reason I give it a 2 instead of a 1 is because Dr. Olsen was great. I was past 30 weeks when I started seeing her for my pregnancy last year and her nurses were amazing. Literally can’t complain about the care I got at all from her and her team. Unfortunately she doesn’t deliver babies anymore and I had to try someone else. I’m 29 weeks and dreaded my appointments and now that something is wrong with my baby and I have to transfer I am relieved they won’t be touching my baby to be honest ..but I have time until I go and can’t barely get an answer from them about my baby not kicking more than 2 times the last few days but feeling hiccups occasionally. “Have you tried kick counts” is all I got from a list of things I’ve told them I tried. Clearly I counted, they just don’t want to deal with me for whatever reason. The message they sent me last was straight up sassy and rude that I couldn’t reply to it because it upset me. They do not care and they will show it to you and it’s sad. You won’t even feel comfortable asking serious questions and they won’t take you seriously. Oh and don’t even bother trying to call them. They won’t return your call literally ever. I barely bothered these people before in my pregnancy. The nurses I’ve encountered clearly don’t like their jobs and need to try something else because they ruined my pregnancy experience with being rude, short with me, and clearly not caring. I also want to add that the ultrasound tech is one of the worst I’ve ever had. I have people go with me that couldn’t stop talking about her lack of personality. Even if you say something to her she won’t speak until it’s telling you what she’s looking at. What should be a pleasant and happy experience was the complete opposite. This was with my last pregnancy as well. I’ve only had her so ultrasounds. Never again will I go to this OB clinic.

They DONT KEEP MOTHERS CALM LIKE THEY SAY. THEY DO NOT TAKE MOTHERS COMPLAINTS SERIOUSLY. THE NURSES ALREADY HAVE THEIR MINDS MADE UP HOW THEY TREAT YOU THE MOMENT THE SEE YOUR NAME. THE MAIN MALE DOCTOR THAT I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH IS DR. OCONNOR CLAIMING HE KNOWS THE PAIN AND WHAT IT FEELS LIKE I STRONGLY DISAGREE AS HE NEVER BEEN PREGNANT A DAY IN HIS LIFE! Just be great full you get 1 star as Im not allowed by Google to put 0

I really am not sure about the other doctors in this clinic for gynecology so I am not speaking for them. However, Dr. O’conner is a horrible gynecologist. He’s absolutely NO HELP. He’s rude and I did not like him. I do not recommend him as he was very unprofessional and disrespectful with some of the things he said to me when I was there for help, not rude words said to me. 0 out of 10 for him and I will NOT be going to him again. BUT the receptionists and nurses were very good.
