I don’t know where to begin because I don’t know how to say thank you enough to Dr. Rabeeya Khalid. And the staffs, She knew what she was doing I wish all the doctors are like her. She listened to everything I said. I received the best care from access that haven’t received in four years my Previous doctors. now I know booking an appointment it’s hard but it’s worth the wait because if all doctors are like Dr Khalid. I will highly recommend you to Wait and have an appointment with ACCESS.
This Evanston area few nurses and receptionist especially females are really rude and in attitude always think like queens of somewhere….I have noticed this so many times and I am a US army veteran and I come here with my family and do not expect this behavior from them.If they do not know how to humble and understand patients perspective they should not work Bcz people like who are real men from army doesn’t behave like there boyfriends and husband who will run behind them like dogs moving their tails
Very very disappointed I’ve never had a bad experience until now well I’ve had bad experiences before but they were minor issues. But this one was by far the worse. I wasted my time.My appointment was at 3pm today and I called to let them know I’ll be late by 12-15 minutes they said that’s fine. So I arrive at 3:15 and I was NOT attended instead the front receptionist called my therapist his name is Luiz he said to wait until 3:30 for another patient that was going to come in AT and I will repeat AT 3:30 there was plenty of time to just let me in and take care of my appointment but No that’s not the case and I am frustrated and annoyed. Not only that the front receptionist did wait after 3:30 patient never showed up for their appointment so she went ahead and told me to go downstairs to wait for him to call me in and I ran down I was patient cool…. Next thing you know mind you I was NOT INFORMED!!! Luiz opens the door he sees me but he opens the door wide open and I was ready to go in unfortunately the patient who was late arrived around 3:47 17 MINUTES LATEEEEEE!!! Not only that he just walked in like nothing so not only did I feel disrespected but that really made me feel down and I don’t appreciate something like that. I don’t appreciate my time being wasted waiting for almost close to an hour for me to be disregarded. So he closes the door… I’m frustrated I’m mad I go upstairs and explain what just happened because I waited there for him to call me in …. She’s finding out what is going on and she tells me “ I think the patient came in , the other lady that attended you probably didn’t let you know that the patient called luiz to let him know that he was on his way” I’m like ?????? Why didn’t she just come down to inform me instead of my time being wasted. So she’s looking up everything and then she goes “yeah I think we would have to reschedule” mind you I was boiling up with anger inside …. So she was looking for a different day blah blah so the previous staff that was at the reception attending me first decides to tell me late really late saying “oh the patient did end up calling luiz that he was on his way by the way just wanted to let you know” my response was “oh” but in my head I was saying “wow you’re just telling me after I just found out already by the other staff that’s pretty crazy” who goes to their lunch and not inform me before hand :/ like don’t work here if you have that poor of a communication period. Fix your reception staff.Small bright side is I did end up having my appointment rescheduled for tomorrow at 2pm but either way my time was wasted so I hope it doesn’t happen again lol.
The worst place you can go to honestly i wouldn’t recommend to nobody. No doctor I’ve seen were helpful, they lack customer service skills, nobody wants to work, you can NEVER get in contact with them the call center had to call over 4 times etc. it’s been a week since my appointment and still not able to get my medication due to my doctor who wanted to argue about a vaccine more than anything but couldn’t send my prescription out that i need to take everyday. Overall horrible experience and I’m switching providers as soon as possible.!
THEY DO NOT ANSWER THEIR PHONES AT ALL. They will make you waste your time going up there just to tell you sorry and yet still do nothing about their actions on their end and then send you on your way with nothing! If I could give it 0 stars for just the people in the front desk I would doctors are good though and some nurses not all of them. Horrible customer service on their end and a definite lack of communication. The phone number on google isn’t even their office phone number so when you call the 8550 number they can’t even get in contact with them.
They canceled my appointment the day of and rescheduled me for more than a month and a half away. The manager was able to work with me and was very helpful. I’m very grateful she took the time to help resolve this issue.
The absolute worst staff, you will wait hours without anyone saying anything. I believe they treat me this way because of my insurance and think i have the time to wait hours even though I have an appointment. Trying to find a good dr. With good staff is impossible.
I moved my kids and me to the Evanston location on Howard right before you get to Dodge St. I was a little worried about moving to this clinic because I have been with my last clinic for 22 years, but I can honestly say this has been a very good move for my kids and me. Dr. Lisa is wonderful, patience, and very attending to any concerns you inform her of your kids, which is a big plus for me. Dr. Catherine is even amazing, she shows concern and truly listen to your concerns and talk out options with you and give good details on why she feel this is a good route to go. Dr. Oldham is wonderful, she paid attention to a concern I have been having for years better then the doc office I left. I just started with this clinic in March of this year and can honestly say this has been the best change in clinic I have made for my kids and me.
Usually I have good experiences here. However, when I was having breasfeeding issues postpartum i needed help. I had explained to them what was going on and how I felt about it. I heard them talking about my situation and laughing about it in the hallway. When the doctor came in, I asked what was so funny and she spun me a story about another patient. I knew it wasnt true because I had heard everything they said. And i was the only one there.They made me feel so embarrassed and ashamed of my situation. I immediately requested another doctor.
The services I receive at Access Evanston Family Health Center are excellent. I would like to specifically mention Ms. Jacqueline Mejia for her professionalism in assisting me and my child to be enrolled in Medicaid and Childcare. She was always helpful, friendly and explained everything to me, as well as kept notifying me on my application status. Thanks a lot for your support! Highly recommended.
Access has been my go to place but it’s unfortunate that I happen to meet Dr Ali, the pediatrician who’s unsympathetic, cold hearted, does not care about her patients. It’s very sad that people like her are doctors. Because of her I want nothing to do with Access. Please make sure you do not assign your kids to her, they will not get the care they deserve. Horrible doctor unfortunately.
I love the care and attention to detail that I receive from Acess Evanston. It’s so refreshing to be treated with kindness and respect and not just a number. The staff there is amazing and very welcoming. And the wait is super short to not only get a appointment, but there’s no long wait to be seen once you arrive.
Very respectable staff. The words are not enough to express how professional and dedicated is Dr Migdalia Cortina. She is doing her job with love and treats her patients with professionalism and care. She is very nice always welcome me with a big smile, she is kind and caring doctor. All respect to her and her staff.
The worst clinic ever. Period. IN one year, they lost my papers about 3-4 times. Not one person is competent in this office. The doctor is late 45 minutes and then tells you, she has no time to listen to your issues. I filed a complaint about them. They force the tests on you that you do not need and force you to come for each refill, just so they can collect money from the insurance. Just BAD experience all around. I waited 3 months for a referal that should have taken a week. It takes 45 minutes sometimes to speak to a live person. YOU NEVER get a call back. BEWARE!
Dr. Michelle Ubau pays a lot of attention to your concerns, she makes you feel at ease. I had been to other places before but nothing like this clinic. I would definitely recommend this clinic to anybody. They always have appointments at your convenience. The staff is very friendly. I decided to come here because this clinic has been recommended by family.
Pros- the staff were extremely welcoming, and clearly were working hard to create a great experience for patients.Cons- I had an appointment, and I was there for a total of two hours from when I went in the door to when I left. The medical staff I worked with didnt really seem to sympathize with the health challenges my job presents.One other small thing - the parking lot is somewhat hard to get to - behind a pretty beat-up alley; it would be great if there was a way to get in directly from the street.
Great front desk staff! Very friendly and understanding! They sure seem to work very hard even though they have a lot going on as to answering phones and dealing with a line of patients. Doctor Manolo knew how to take care of my health needs. Definitely recommend this clinic!
Poor follow up from doctor assistance and personal on the phone who make all these appointments, my wife had a visit lost month and she was told that clinic is going to schedule her a ultrasound we never received any call, she went for here next month appointment and asked about her ultrasound appointment and she was told by here doctor assistant that they will make her appointment tomorrow and call her they never did, I followed up and called the access health center to see what is the update they gave me a phone number to call and a referral number to provide it to them but when I called they said they need a referral notice from doctor so, they know what kind of ultrasound needs to be done I called back the Clenic told them the story and they said they have left message for doctor assistance they call u but they never did, I called the Clenic and told them you guys were supposed to call me for the appointment now she was asking me for fax number of the Clenic I was just getting bounded back and forth.Please fix problem.
The first time I made an appointment here was because my son needed a physical for school . They txted me 1 hr before the appointment so cancel and said the Dr left early . I called today to reschedule and they said their next available appointment was not till SEPTEMBER 6 . WHAT A JOKE .people here dont care about your time I had an appointment today 8/13/2020 at 11:40 Dr waits 15 mind to cancel or I had to reschedule for 1 so I did since I had already missed work in the morning. Its now 1:40 pm and Im still waiting to be seen? Wow whats the point of an appointment if you still have to wait 30-45 mins to be seen?????? I will never come back to this clinic & I would DEFINITELY NOT recommend this to anyone!!!!! Horrible
Dr. Monalo and Jill McLaughlin are excellent providers. They have taken such good care of my brother. He is all alone in Chicago and his developmental disabilities can make it hard for him to communicate some time. These two have been a god send for him- they are so kind and patient! Access is an amazing place with an amazing mission. God bless them all!
Do not book any appointments with doctor Lisa Oldham! My appointment was rushed and she talked over me the whole time! I come in for 2 test that she didn’t even do! Worst experience every.
I see Dr. Schlentz at this office. After almost a month of feeling week and tired, I made an appointment to see the first available Dr. They assigned me to Dr. Schlentz. She took the time to listen to me and to confirm a diagnosis before putting me on a bunch of pills. After getting my tests results back she was willing to follow up with me over the phone so that I didnt have to come back into the office. After only a few days for following her treatment order I finally began to feel like my self again for the first time in over a month! It is so nice to be able to again keep up with my two little girls and I cant thank the Dr. enough for taking the time needed to help me feel better!
Doctor didnt listen to or show interest in my concerns, and the two phlebotomists couldnt find my veins or the veins of the other patient they were trying to draw blood from. I did not experience any of the kindness or compassion you expect from medical professionals. I do NOT want to go back there, I will be requesting to transfer to a different office.
This place should be reported for all of the illegal things that they are doing. First of all the OBGYN told me that its a good thing I used to have painful periods because theyre a catholic institution and otherwise they cant prescribe BC. Which is highly illegal, especially in this day and age. You cannot deny somebody something thats legal and a basic right because of your religious affiliation, that is discrimination. I am horrified at the thought of young girls being turned away.Secondly the doctor was insistent upon taking all sorts of blood tests and urine samples for no reason. Over a month has gone by and I NEVER received a phone call with my results as they are legally required to do. I called them today and they told me I need to make an appointment to get my results! Excuse me?! No, you have to give them to me. I told the receptionist that was illegal and she said she cant give them to me but the doctor can (which is also untrue the HIPAA waiver you sign there makes it so they can leave you a voicemail with your results at your phone number). But I told her to have the doctor call which Im guessing is unlikely to happen so they are illegally holding on to my test results so they can further charge customers for more co pays and visits. DO NOT go here.
After years of being in pain and going to doctors who did not believe that I was in as much pain as I was saying I was in, I met staff from access. I finally had enough of the pain and went to the er. They recommended that I come see the obgyn at their clinic. I met Dr. Cortina and after a couple of visits she assessed my pain and jumped into action to resolve the problem. She walked me through everything and was always so kind. She performed the procedure that relieved me of a pain I had been in for years. I am so greatful! The entire staff was always so pleasant and most times went out of their way to make my visit as pleasant as possible. I had such a great experience I changed my PCP to the clinic and my children see their pediatrician. They are wonderful!
Do not go to Dr Manalo, after months of being extremely sick, lost weight, blood in bowel movements, and extreme fatigue, not only was I told every appointment that I was depressed, needed to talk to a therapist and be put on meds I then was drug tested WITHOUT my consent. On top of that only after the fact while talking to other girlfriends about my situation did I realize that getting a breast examine every 2 weeks from him was extremely inappropriate and he was using my sickness to his advantage. I will do everything in my power to make sure no one else has to go through this as it has left a lasting impression on me having male Drs.
Very disappointed with this clinic. I called to make an appointment for medical exam a few days ago. The medical assistant told me, the doctor there will called me back to make an appointment. But they didnt call me back, nothing. Sooo unprofessional. If theyre not available, just let me know, rather than let me waiting without any response.
Do not go here if you have any other options. I was not informed that they do not provide complete care beforehand. The doctor I saw for my well womens exam talked about how anxious i must be and how anxiety ridden these appointments are. Are they? U do this at least once a year and dont find it stressful at all; do you medical professional? She danced around the concept of birth control when I tried to have a discussion about changing the medication I have been on for the last 15 years. She said she had to do some research which I found strange as an obgyn you should be pretty familiar with the options. My exam felt incomplete and I am still awaiting what I assume will be unusable results of my pap smear since she scraped me with the stick before getting to the right spot. The exam was very uncomfortable as she didnt use any lubricant at all. Are you serious?! Yes.I walked out without a birth control (BC) prescription and wouldnt have noticed except for the printout I received which showed my other RX. Upon asking why it wasnt there the receptionist informed me they dont prescribe BC because of being a Catholic hospital. I threw a little bit of a fit and insisted on seeing the dr again. In the end the dr wrote me a 60 day prescription for my BC which was sent straight to the pharmacy and I was not provided a copy of. A week later I havent been able to get a hold of anyone to get more information although I did listen to the phone ring for 15 minutes. I have never gotten anything less than a 12 month RX after an annual exam. I have never had an exam without lubricant and I hope to never again. Im assuming they will make me come in and pay a copay to get the results of my test and then I will be getting out of there and going anywhere else. Absolutely horrific experience and a perfect example of why so many women go without treatment and have unwanted pregnancies. Get it together or dont call yourself a health care provider. Run. Run away.
I arrived half hour before appointment, singed-in and was waiting for next 2 hours while other patients were going inside. It was limit when one of the staff members told that I will still have to wait as doctor or someone inside was not picking the call. Staff asked us to schedule anathor appointment after kept us waiting for 2 hours. Ridiculous. I would never prefer to visit same facility again.
My family has used this clinic for years and I have always had wonderful experiences with the interns, general practitioners and Pediatritians. The lab has easy walk-in hours and parking is never a problem.
Had a great experience with a phlebotomist named Erica Ramirez! It usually takes multiple people/pokes/days to draw my blood. She got it on the second try!
Really Worst Place ever i Seen. Poor customers service... Nobody care about time. Even you make an appointment. I make an appointment before one week. I came here 30 Min early. But its been 40 Minutes up and still waiting to see the doctor. After this visit I’ll definitely change my Place for PCP

This clinic has poor customer service. The assistants at the desk need to learn their systems and policies. Someone scheduled my appointment on a date in which was not available for a specific doctor. However, I waited five months to see this doctor and no one at this clinic made it their business to ensure I got another date to see her. This health provider (psychiatry) is the only one in the network, this is unacceptable. She cannot provide a better service if shes the only person, and she shouldnt be able to choose who to see if this is the case, especially if I had to already WAITED FIVE MONTHS TO SEE HER. MY APPOINTMENT SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN CANCELLED!!!!
Terrible patient service, staff is not trained properly. They will try and scam extra appointments out of you. All at your expense dragging out uncomfortable procedures.

8a.m.labs to be done,Im 3rd person signed in, 9 people have gone in before me and the receptionist lies and say the phlebotomists are putting in orders,only doctors do the orders but this is the run a round and lies they do everyday they call in the Hispanics first to draw their blood and im still sitting there.If you are not Hispanic do NOT go to this clinic.

I have always waited 40 minutes after my appointment time for my children to be seen, the penultimate time I was waiting for 1 hour 40 minutes, the last time I left with my two children after 40 minutes of being waited in a room of 3 x 3 without air with a 7-year-old and another 3-year-old, one of them with autism, I didnt expect to be the first or special, but I did expect them to be considered.
