Planned Parenthood - Escondido Health Center

I’ve had very positive experiences with the providers and staff at this location. Ashley brown (provider) is the only provider I’ve ever encountered in my entire life who actually cares and listens to my woman issues I’ve had since I was 12! She is so empathetic, professional, and friendly. She really works hard to figure out what is going on and is quick to refer me out if needed. The other providers are amazing too but I’ve only seen them prior to the issue I’m having. The medical assistants and office staff are super nice and professional too. If there’s a delay they will keep you updated and even offer you a drink to keep you comfortable while you wait. I’ve never had such a positive experience and I’m so incredibly thankful to have found this clinic. I had an OB I use to see yearly for birth control and switched to this clinic since moving to Escondido because they will schedule appointments soon and if an appointment opens up even sooner they reach out to you. I use to have to wait for OB appointments for MONTHS and my old office would only give me an 3 month supply of the birth control I need for hormones and that I’ve taken since I was 13 plus that office wanted to see me every 3 months just for refills. now I’ve never had to wait for longer than a week for appointments AND they give me a YEAR’S supply. Yep an entire year! It’s a godsend especially considering I need this medication all the time not just for contraceptive reasons it’s so I don’t get ill.

Whenever I come here I always feel welcomed, but that wasn’t the case today. The receptionists were laughing about peoples names on file. The doctor named Spring wasn’t listening to me. I had came in to see if I had a possible infection. Everything was going good till I told Spring I was a going through my first pregnancy with twins. She said that they don’t do prenatal care so this would be the last time they see me. I understood and explained to her that I already have prenatal care and a place to go so that’s nothing to worry about. We continued on with the appointment and she kept mentioning that they don’t do prenatal care so I need to set up prenatal appointments else where. I never mentioned anything about needing prenatal care from them so it was a little irritating hearing it from her, but I just said okay. Everything turned out fine, but the last thing she said to me was that I could come back after I have the babies and we could talk about birth control. I would rate today’s experience 0 stars.

My experience at all the other locations I’ve visited have been great. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience at this location. It took about a whole 5 minutes for any of the staff to acknowledge me when I stood in line patiently to check in prior to my appointment. Usually, most clinic staff at other locations will greet me politely and mention that they will be with me in a moment; which I feel is important when someone is having an appointment due to a health concern. That was the first unattractive impression. I was then checked in and in my exam room. We went through the whole initial vitals and questions with one of the nurse assistants and once she left, I literally waited almost an hour before the actual nurse came in to see me for an iud removal that took literally took 2 minutes. They also made me wait an additional 20 minutes to be “walked out”. Most PP locations I’ve visted for an iud removal and other services, usually take me about 45-50 mins tops. Unless you want to take 2 hours of your day for a visit, I would avoid this location. I don’t usually write reviews, I suppose this is more of a warning due to my first impression and experience at this location. I strongly believe if patients are expected to wait longer than anticipated, it’s important to communicate with the patients.

I scheduled an appointment. Got confirmation of two different times on a Saturday. Called and made another appointment for vista location at 1:30pm and wasn’t even put on the schedule today 10-10-23. Was sent to Escondido and have been waiting for over hour in a half for the appointment. And now they want me wait for another 30 minutes. Horrible customer service. Would not recommend these clinics!! Will update after the appointment today , I’m sure I’ll be here until close.

Beware, the wait times after getting your vitals is 1 hr to 1hr 20 minutes before being seen by a doctor. Came to get something as simple as Plan B but the wait time was the worst. I’ve never had to wait more than 20 minutes at other PP’s to get the same care.

Somehow they manage to always be late, literally to every appointment I go to. They take for ever and the ladies up front basically just show up for their shift.

This location staff is very welcoming.I did have a bit of a negative experience with the receptionist before I stepped in, but I think it’s a national phone number that are simply linked with different locations. With that being said the nurses here are very nice. They properly speak to you about your options and they has a same day appointment for me. You shouldn’t have to blame these people because you made a mistake. They are here to help but they are not to blame for your mistakes. I will go back if I ever need something! Thank you

The receptionists are very unkind and unwelcoming, which is pretty disappointing especially for the type of facility this is and the services they offer. I also had scheduled an appoint for 09/11 at 9AM, I scheduled this at the front desk with the receptionist and she wrote that same date and time on my card. I show up and apparently, I had been scheduled for 09/09 at 9:40AM and Even though I told them I could show them the card, with the appointment date I was told, they could not help me. I had to reschedule my appointment even though it was THEIR mistake. If you are able to go some place other than here, I highly recommend you do.

Absolutely love the attention, care that I was giving on 7/17 and for us to not be appreciative of the services that plan parenthood provides for us free is just not right. Thank you beautiful Stephanie, professional Dr Nguyen and the amazing MA that took my blood, and the admin staff in the front for making me feel safe and care for, I will be coming back to this location. Stay cool and thank you again!

I have been coming to this clinic since I was 16, im now 22. Every. Single. Time. I step foot in that clinic, every single person treats me with respect and non-judgment. I always get the treatment I need, free thanks to their FamilyPACT plan, and am 100% taken care of. Every staff member is kind, understanding and helpful. I have NEVER had a bad experience here and will continue to come back for any needs I have. Thank you to everyone who works here. Truly.

Worst experience here. I used to go to the one by sdsu and the staff there was so nice. I moved to Escondido and live right across from this location. I booked an appointment online and went in since it’s so convenient and close. I had the family pact insurance that covered my visits and never had an issue with it before. I go in for my appointment and the girls at the front desk looked at me up and down with a smug look on their face which was weird to me, then they checked me in. There were like 3-4 of them all sitting close together just talking and looking at me as if I interrupted their “hangout” I told them I had the family pact and one of the girls said I couldn’t use it and would need to pay upfront. The reason for my appointment was minor, and they said they were going to charge around $320. I told them I can’t pay that today, and asked why they can’t take their own family pact insurance. They wouldn’t give me an answer. I have insurance with Kaiser as well and they wouldn’t take that one either (understandable) and they said “why did you come here instead of Kaiser” in a rude tone and I said “because this is right across the street and Kaiser’s a 30-35 minute drive and they don’t have appointments for another 3-4 weeks when you call. And I have insurance here.” I asked them if I could go outside to make a phone call to figure out what to do and she rolled her eyes and said “you have 5 minutes to figure it out, after that your appointment is cancelled.” I didn’t say anything back and I left and got in my car. 5 minutes later they call me and leave a voicemail asking where I’m at. Rude miserable girls. Not welcoming or nice. They should definitely not work at this place or any other kind of health department if they wanna act like mean girls that are stuck in highschool still. 0 stars

Expect to wait an extra 30min on average for appointments, 90min for walk-ins. They are a smaller clinic. The manager did come out unprompted to apologize for the wait and gave everyone snacks. I saw a lot of rude people complaining about the wait.

10/10! Had a very pleasant experience here and will definitely be coming back. Made an online appointment and checked in quickly. The staff were kind, professional, and knowledgable and made me feel very comfortable for my annual exam. The clinic was very clean as well. I let them know of my concerns not listed in the annual exam and they made time to accommodate my needs the same visit.

I had a great experience at this location. The office was clean and the staff were all very helpful. The nurses were incredibly attentive and professional. The doctor I had did a great job in being informative and personable. I felt really comfortable coming here and will be coming back.

I could not be more satisfied with their customer service and compassionate care.The provider and assistant were so informative and took very good care of me . I was a walk- in and the recepionist was super polite and got me in right away. Ingrid P. was my medical assistant and she was absolutely helpful in every aspect, she took the time to give me all the services I was hesitant in receiving with every mean of understanding and empathy . I was in and out disregarding all the services I received and with not having an appointment. Literally wished every clinic had these types of services and staff !

If I could give negative stars I would. The receptionist was so unhelpful and couldn’t understand the difference between total income and taxable income. The paperwork was more focused on my pronouns and gender than my inability to pay $175 for a pregnancy test and “consultation”. This company used to help people and now it’s just useless. Now I’m 3 months pregnant and I have no insurance, no doctor and I’m in a new state and have no clue what to do. Thanks for all your help planned parenthood.

Im always respected and treated with kindness here My concerns are always addressed with care. They were very affirming and respectful, and receiving HRT here was so validating. Thats life saving care. Thank you all 🙏🏻

Absolutely awful, the doctor barely took care of me. She didnt know what she was doing and didnt get to the root of my problem. Had to get a second opinion else where. They misdiagnosed me and dirty. Nurse didnt stay in the room either. They didnt wash their hands. Do not get care here.

Im so impressed:) my roomate needed urgent care...she explains not only was it quick. She said she didnt want to leave because the girls were soooooo fun....pretty....kind...Wildness yea!!!!!.

I made an appointment online and was in and out of the office within 15 minutes. My provider was very professional and attentive to my needs. It’s easy to make an appointment online and the office notifies you via text or email to remind you of your upcoming appointment.

We went on a walk in basis, although the escondido clinic itself was short staffed and didnt have any available appointments the nurse looked up a different location and got me and appointment at 1 close by. Bless your hearts. Thank you!

Sat in the room for 45 min after my scheduled time for appointment. Felt profiled, the girls working at front desk weren’t not welcoming.

The receptionist on 12/21/22 Diana at 3:00pm was extremely rude. This is the second time I have received rude and snobby customer service at the location! I definitely will not be returning

Made an appointment and still had to wait 45 min to be attended, then the lady that attended me had horrible customer service, to top it off, i was charged $70 for talking to the physician that only repeated what the nurse had already told me and she was only in the room for no more than 5 minutes! Horrible place!

Everyone was so nice there. Service was slow and the room was cold but I brought a book and my heating pad. No complaints for very affordable and professional services

My visit was easy and mostly a joy, if there’s a negative it’s that the service was a bit slow, that’s about it.

Fantastic service. The staff was very friendly and able to explain everything that was going on. I was very impressed with this location.

This place is absolutely sabotaging! They diagnosed me wrong for a disease I didnt have which Kaiser corrected and sent detail information about my visit in the mail to my house! Hate this place

Two hour wait even when you have an appointment. Try some other place if you can.
