NextCare Urgent Care Elizabeth City

2 stars for time, but 5 stars for staff.5 hours seems a long time to wait at an urgent care clinic. But, I am new to the area & do not have a local doctor, so this was my option. I went in for a pain & rash. I was checked-in within a decent amount of time, but then just sat in the lobby. For 4 hours. I was eventually taken back to an exam room where it was almost another hour. The PA came in, looked at me, diagnosed me & released me within 10minutes. Honestly, though, the staff was beyond amazing. And I would even be willing to return, if need ever arise, simply to be around the beautiful energy of Michelle W. at the front desk. She is welcoming & caring & completely aware of whats going on in that entire office....and still makes time to acknowledge everyone & make them smile (as best they can).

All staff was courteous and attentive. PA was very thorough. He did not physically examine me until he made notes during a thorough discussion of my symptoms and history that might impact todays symptoms. He was thorough in explaining what the issue(s) could be and next steps I should take if my issues do not resolve with the medication. Very satisfied.

Don’t go to this place if you’re actually sick. Go to the ER where you can actually be diagnosed and treated. I was told they only test for flu and Covid. Anything else, they recommend you go somewhere else. They frequently only have 1 doctor working. If you walk in without an appointment, expect to be there for 5+ hours. You’ll be in the waiting room for over an hour even with an appointment. I don’t know how they have 4.4 stars.

Had a scheduled appointment for daughter to get physical. Staff was courteous and kind. Wait time was adequate as arrival was prior to provider getting in. Assessment and physical was thorough and provider was awesome. Kind, cheerful and polite.

Staff was pleasant and attentive. There were 7 people ahead of me and we only waited 45 minutes (which is a shorter time than I have waited at my Drs office. The rooms were clean. The Dr came right in took care of my problem and got me out the door. This was a great visit. No one in there was angry, grumpy or fussing over their experience there.

I want to start this off with the staff are amazing once you get there. I had an appointment at 5:20pm and I arrived 20 minutes early to account for paperwork. It was 2 hours after my appointment time when I was finally called in with others who had appointments after mine getting called in first.

Fast, convenient and gracious. Employees, all of them, were very nice. Hopefully cured my ailment. Making an appointment really takes the wait time out of the process. Glad they were available for me. Been before today and will definitely go again when needed.

I dont expect it to be very quick, but 5 hours is a little long. Also the heat was out and it was like a meat locker in there. Again not the fault of the staff, just information. Not a bad visit though. Everyone was professional given the amount of business they had. Thanks.

Good visit. Courteous and professional staff. Not a long wait and the physician Was able to make a quick diagnosis. This was my first visit, but I feel very comfortable going back.

Waiting time in waiting room and in treatment room was excessive. I’m an elderly male that presented with fever, chills, cough, congestion and weakness. I was told testing was not necessary and that it was just a virus. I went home and did a Covid test which was positive. This of course changed our holiday plans

I am from Orlando Florida and was having a chest discomfort for the past few days and decided to look for the nearest Urgent Care in google and found NextCare. Seeing mostly 5 stars reviews I decided to go and have my health issue checked and wasn’t disappointed. I highly recommend this provider.

Waited 4 hours with my baby who was in pain and unhappy for barely 5 minutes with the actual physician. i understand being short staffed but having one physician to see everyone that comes in is not only unfair to the patients but also the physician that has to deal with that.

Mainly...DIRTY. With a lobby that dirty I cannot imagine the rest. 🤢 Second, the check-in process... The chick at the desk, literally, just sits at a table, does nothing and gets a paycheck? All they need is a sign saying Download this bullshit app, set appointment and come back. Needless to say, I left and went to ER at the hospital and was in and out, with x-rays and was back home 2 hours before I got a message from Nexcare asking Are you still here to be seen? at 8:45pm.Good Luck at this place. Bring lysol sanitizer and a hazmat suit to go inside and see anyone.

I arrived just before noon to a full, but small waiting room. As time progressed, the people were becoming angry about the wait time to be seen. The young lady sitting next to me appeared to be in severe pain. She was still waiting when I was called in to see the provider shortly after 2 pm. The medical staff I met with were skilled and concerned.The areas I noted that needed to change were that the waiting room was too crowded, and that there was no triage and so no prioritization of patients. I will not be a return patient.

I do like this medical service and the staff. However they do need more staff. The appointments were overbooked and tons of walkins with only one doctor. I waited 3 hours past my appointment time. The staff were working fast but people were coming in so fast they could never keep up with it.

I came back from a trip and needed care due to a uti. I went to NextCare Urgent Care in Elizabeth City after getting a recommendation from the Nextdoor app. I was prepared for a long wait and filling in lots of paperwork, but it went much more smoothly than I expected. Everyone from the front desk to the intake nurse to the PA who saw me was pleasant, helpful, and caring. The lab results were fast, and I left feeling like my care was complete and professional. It’s good to know that there’s urgent care close by that is welcoming and efficient.

Quicker than usual, and I was ready to be camped out in the waiting room for hours. 🤣 kind staff, that made my little girl feel comfortable, and even had her giggling despite her not feeling well. Thank you for everything. ♡

I was a walk-in referred from WALMART pharmacy.The wait really wasnt that bad, maybe about 2-3 hours, as a first time client. but where I come from Im used to a eight hour wait so that really wasnt that bad.I really enjoyed the check-in from my phone so I didnt have to be messing with all that paperwork I really enjoyed that part of it!The doctor was amazing his working knowledge of my symptoms was impressive. His bedside manner was amazing. I usually feel uncomfortable with male doctors, but he was very friendly and professional.The lady that checked me in and took my stats, she was very attention to detail really kind and patient and expeditious, especially entering all my medication into the system.It was a very pleasurable experience, considering that I wasnt feeling well!Thank you for making my experience so pleasant.I would definitely recommend this provider to anyone who asked they were definitely top-notch!!!

I was visiting Shiloh, North Carolina and had a cut on my arm that got infected.Went to Next Care in Elizabeth CitySigned in online staff and Dr were excellent. Wait time was not that bad.Keep up the good work and thank you

Showed up at appointment time just to sit in waiting room for 3:11 then get call into room to see Physicians Assistant for 2 minutes tops. If you can, go elsewhere. Ladies at the desk are nice, but 3+ hours after appointment is unacceptable.

I walked in with my son so we both could be seen for coughs. They have radiology on site so they were able to X-ray and find pneumonia in my lungs. Staff was great. Wait til is always long but Im glad I went.

Three-hour wait to see a PA who did a decent exam but didnt seem to care much. Maybe hes overworked. My grandson showed him a cut on his finger after examining him for his cough and he just blew him off and walked out. The woman at front window was sweet and professional though, hence the three stars. The triage nurse was robotic, militaristic.If I can avoid that place in the future, I will.

The people working there were very nice and professional. But as with any urgent care, there was a very long wait time. ‘Not sure how one avoids that. Waiting on a new prescription today for my antibiotic, as I had a few adverse effects to 1st one. Story of my life… drug lightweight.

Great experience. From the receptionist to the nurse to the doctor that saw me. All were very attentive and made sure I was comfortable. I was a walk in so expected to wait but still everyone was professional and handled the crowd they had well

There weren’t that many people there so that’s why we stayed. The PA took about 10 seconds to look at my brother’s ear and gave us a script for amoxicillin which surprised me. He gets these ear infections more often than he should even though we religiously use ear plugs and a shower cap. Every doctor up to now has prescribed ear drops for a more rapid response to medication. Hey, I’m not a doctor so who am I to question this?

Staff have always been great but my last visit was absolutely terrible. Multiple people walking out because appt times apparently dont matter. I booked an appt ahead of time for 11:30. 1:15 comes around & I plus others are still waiting. Talk to the desk attendant to see how much long & get told theres still a line of people in front of me. Dont set an appt time for people if you cant actually accommodate it.

Waited 3 hours to be seen with an appointment. One provider present. Staff was courteous and friendly but clearly-there’s a need for more providers.

Read the reviews for this place as I was waiting over an hour AFTER my appointment time has passed, and I can agree on the following. The medical personnel who work at urgent care are phenomenal. Larry was an awesome doctor to be seen by and was super quick, yet super professional. However, the front desk clerks are seemingly inconvenienced by your presence. They’d do anything to just get you to go away.

Wait was extremely long because the only had one PA on staff, but the office staff nurses couldn’t been nicer. The PA took time to explain the procedures and meds, and was very thorough.Although I was there entirely too long, the folks there knew how to make the best of a troublesome wait,!

Absolutely should not be caring for pediatric patients. Especially ones with type 1 diabetes!! A PA or NP is not a replacement for a physician. There needs to be a physician on site.

Your checkin process is dependent on our cellular signal or your WiFi both your WiFi and your App are sluggish at best which lead to most of us waiting to comment one to another on the frustration this combination caused. Earlier I’d called with a question, your team member was delightful. Upon arriving I interacted with the woman at the window who would best be described as surly if not angry. She would not have a client facing role in my organization.

We were pleasantly surprised by how fast we were seen. The staff was very kind, though no doubt overworked. We have had long waits at this place before and at no fault to the employees, we have not enjoyed it in the past. This time it took us less than an hour to check in, be seen, and prescription written.

Very friendly staff and professional atmosphere. Staff try to be gentle as possible with my injured wrist, from a hit and run vehicle accident. Not much damage, but a lot of pain.

Went to the office early Saturday a.m. had to wait about a half an hour but thats because I had to fill out paperwork because Im a new patient, front office was very professional, helpful, and courteous, nurse took me into the examination room, she was very nice, very pleasant and then I saw PA Larry Jensen, and he was just wonderful, I felt very good about his taking care of me, he was a very thoughtful, respectful, and a polite gentleman. I would go back to him in a heartbeat he took really good care of me, gave me a prescription I had it filled and within 24 hours I was feeling so much better! Very happy going to this place, its better than going to my own physician who I dislike immensely, LOL

Everyone was very pleasant and professional. It was a little wait getting in, but they were very thorough in making my diagnosis.

I had a suspicion that I had Covid and my husband made an appointment for me. I was in and out within an hour and a half. The staff is always great, but Steve is just amazing. He is always helpful, answers all my questions to where I can understand them, he is gentle with me and patient with my needs. The Provider Larry was amazing as well. Looong. Provider was efficient and the X-ray tech and all staff were very friendly and professional. But I was given an appt of 5:12 after finding out a provider was not available for the appt made online 2 days before. Arrived @ 5:05 with paperwork completed online, I payed copay upon arrival then sat for 1.5 hours before being seen. Walk-ins should not be prioritized on a day appts were made for patients already stood up on their first “appointment”. Maybe just don’t accept or schedule appointments.

Over a 3 hour wait time, even with an appointment. Was told it was due to only having 1 provider available. Other than the long wait...they were pretty good.

Your LPN with the bad hair has awful bedside manner and should not work in a care facility. Misunderstandings happen and I can see that the front of house and back of house in your facility have poor communication, but there is no way that she conducted herself properly to treat patients especially ones with two small sick children that are crying in the waiting room skipping over them and being incredibly rude is uncalled for. The provider did eventually see & appropriately treat us though. 3 hr wait in total.

This place doesn’t deserve a star.Let me begin with the fact this place has NO ORGANIZATION. They will call the wrong patients name, take all their vitals, set them up in a room. And then TRY to make them sit back in the lobby once they realized they made a mistake.Is that the worst part? Nope. When the mistake is made, the whatever she is who sees you before the dr, wanted to ARGUE with me without accepting accountability for her mistake.At some point it, you have to realize you made a mistake, you called the wrong patient in the room. Okay things happen. But you try to put them back into the lobby after we have been waiting an hour after our booked ahead appt . She argued with me that just because my phone shows one person ahead of me doesn’t mean her computer list shows the same. It took three staff members surrounding a computer to figure out which patient was next and which patient was in which room. They finally “let” me stay in the room after finally realizing how ridiculous they were being. Then after arguing with me how there was three ahead of me, the dr came in five minutes later. Already aggravated I asked him for my diagnosis so I can just leave. He did just that. No apology or empathy. I left informing the lobby all those waiting that we will NEVER be back again chat that I hope their experience was much better as ours was horrible.Also did I mention, they advised me no manager was on duty? Like absent from work? How do you run a medical office with no manager.In addition, when proving to me there was three people ahead of me they showed me their computer screen with patient information on it which showed the names of the patient, the complaint, and how long they have been there. I mean I can literally look the girls name up on Facebook who they switched me with.Disgusting practice.Only the front desk was pleasant.Trifeling and not what someone who’s sick needs!!!!!! NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN!!!!!! Avoid at ALL COSTLuckily I recorded the entire event. I will use this recording if I need to as well to show the world how disgusting you treat your patients.

I reserved a time and was told at front desk they were working with only one provider so it could be awhile. Everyone was very courteous and kind! Dr. Larry was thorough and nice as always! Its one of the reasons I feel comfortable coming to this urgent care!

Waited an hour and a half for an APPOINTMENT for a very ill child. Asked what was going on because we had to leave soon to get another child off a bus. They told me there was someone who had just gotten there for a DRUG TEST ahead of me. Said when you schedule an appointment, it is NOT an appointment and they put every single walk in ahead of you. The next “appointment” time is the next person to be seen after ALL walkins. This place is a JOKE. The staff is NOT friendly. They just put a random drug test for a grown man who’s been in the building 20 mins ahead of a 6 yr old child who has been waiting for an hour and a half with an appointment who is throwing up into a bag in their waiting room.

The medical professionals Shawn and Mary were real helpful and gave personal touches. Luckily I didn’t break any bones, but they showed me how to use the brace properly in fastening and strapping it on. They kept a positive attitude, despite being shortstaffed, super busy and a Friday night/weekend!

Staff was friendly and helpful. The doctor was great. The only thing I would say negative is I made an appointment and it still took me two hours to be seen. But overall it was a good experience.

Had a lump on my neck that was red and swollen and the doctor told me that he would not put me on an antibiotic because it would not help a skin infection. Went to dermatologist after the weekend and could believe that I was not given antibiotics. Put me on a strong antibiotic and lanced two cysts. Will never go there again.

Treated with dignity from check-in to exit.Tech very professional. FNP Whaley explained the diagnosis and provided outstanding after treatment advice.

Staff was very friendly and Mr. Larry (P.A.) listened to everything I explained to him concerning what was going on with me. Even though I traveled 1hr 5mins it was worth the drive.

Visit was good. But trying to get my Prescription Straight with them. It took all day. I couldnt get my Antibiotic.So I have to wait another day for it.

Had a rash on my right forearm for several days, tried home remedies without prevail. Made an appointment online, completed the paperwork and was seen the next day. The wait time was not long, saw the nurse and the PA. A prescription was called in and I am in the process of taking the medications to clear up this issue. Thanks again. Sometimes you can tell when you’re sick, sometimes some of us can’t because we spend each day fighting our immune systems. I have traveled many roads to see many well known oncologist and rheumatologist. Yesterday was an off day, which happens, more so lately as my illness is progressively worsening. I found my self with a sudden fever and chills, I tried my local doctor but it seems he is extremely busy these days and I know I can’t wait 2 weeks to be seen. I found myself at urgent care next care. I’m always uneasy seeing someone new, as I take a lot of meds and I’m known to go into shock, but this time, I found a dr. Who was compassionate, who was understanding, who took her time to check me over leaving not one thing unseen. The entire team was pleasant and understanding, add they were backed up for hours, and still treated me as if I was important. I want to give a tremendous thank you to the entire staff and to PA-C Arielle IIey. Arielle ,thank you for treating me with kindness and understanding, thank you for listening and working with me. I will forever be grateful for you . It’s nice to see someone who actually loves what they do and I can definitely tell you do. You have know idea how it felt to feel heard and not like a lab rat. I will keep looking in the future to see if you pop up as a local practitioner, I’d love to be a patient of yours if you do. Thank you all again, you’re all so much appreciated by me.

Don’t understand why have opinions to schedule an appointment & you are still there for hours. After being able to make it to back they are very friendly and helpful.

The actual visit was fine. The problem was that I went because I had an issue that needed a Rx. The Rx information was not called in the the pharmacy, and I was one of the last patients seen before they closed. This was AFTER I specifically inquired if they had phoned it in. Which meant that I suffered all night without the necessary medication.I HATE INCOMPETENCE!

0 stars solely for the wait time. Not sure why they have appt times if youll still have to wait over 3 hrs to be seen. Not sure how long it would have actually taken to be seen because I left since I have other things to do than spend half a day in a waiting room WITH AN APPOINTMENT

2024 updated review. I made an appt online because my throat had been killing me for over a week. Got there and she told me that there were 6 people ahead of me..Im not exactly sure why making an appt is needed if you are still waiting 3 hours. Get back, doctor was like no one did a steep or covid test on you? I was like no. So they did one. Both came back negative. I hear them out there talking about not remembering whose test was whos. Anyway, get sent home with prescription allergy meds and magic mouth wash. A week later I was at my actual doctors office because the pain in my throat is no better. She prescribed an antibiotic and I was feeling better with the first pill.2018 review: We just went to get a sports physical. It took about 2.5-3hrs:( next time I will sign in online or call ahead of time. The online waitlist is pretty awesome. Staff was friendly.

If I could give Zero stars for this visit I would. My mother was seen at this location, on July 12th, and the nurse or whatever she was, that came into the room before the doctor, was the rudest that Ive EVER encountered. Very unprofessional, and needs to go back to learn better etiquette!! She needs to learn, if youre having a bad day, leave that mess at home, if not, dont bring your a** to work!!

The wait was still 1hr after the scheduled time. Diagnosis was serious and 2 prescriptions called in but diagnosis not confirmed until the next day ands that’s when the second prescription was mentioned.

After being misdiagnosed with cellulitis and given a prescription for doxycycline an antibiotic I had to take a trip to the er the next day to be correctly diagnosed and treated for hives and prescribed prednisone a steroid.

I went to NextCare in Elizabeth City for the first time Thursday May 30th. I had an 11:00 appointment, the check in was fine. I had a 45 minute wait which is not fine, the reason for appointments is to avoid an excessive wait, I went in the back was placed in a room and waited 15 more minutes. They seem to schedule too many for one time slot. When you also work this kind of wait is unacceptable. The Doctor was quick and pleasant, but most people who make appointments expect them to be honored.

Staff was so friendly and polite. Visit was very quick and efficient! Great people work there!

Had a 6.20 pm appt. Finally seen at 8 pm. Only one PA on duty, but he was great. Asked for my prescription be phoned into pharmacy in my town. Didnt happen, so Walgreens had it transferred. Got charged co-pay even though my insurance covers urgent care. Had to get insurance on phone so they could explain my benefits. Co-pay was refunded.

I had an awesome experience with the staff. They were very helpful and kind. I will definitely come back here was courteous and pleasant.

Took 2.5 hours to be seen but Dr was thorough call me after my visit at 7pm or so to let me know my finger was broken I had no idea went in for an infection in finger

Everything from my original phone call with general questions, setting up my appointment and being seen was a 5 star experience. Everyone was courteous and genuinely kind. The ease of everything was a wonderful experience. Highly recommend

We made an appointment for 1:12 PM We were not seeing until 2:30 pm. If the rules are first come first serve, that should posted. Once taken in the back , the story changed. It took about five minutes after our childs vitals were taken for the PA-C Mr. Jensen To come in and he did a thorough check up of our son.He was courteous professional, and he listened to our concerns. He even engaged with our son to build a reporter before he started exam. His calm demeanor soothed my husband and I as he was able to provide a simple diagnosis for the presenting symptoms. For this visit I would give the The doctor an A+ the outside staff and online tools for scheduling a D-.

The X-ray technician/ nurse was very courteous and professional. The PA was knowledgeable and courteous. They were prompt and service was quick . Thank you !

Im visiting Elizabeth City and had a sinus infection. Dr Chan and staff were great. Check in was smooth and the wait time wasnt bad .

My experience was good. Didnt have to wait very long to be seen. Doctor address my concerns and I was in and out withing a matter of time.

Very good service always. We all know about the physician and nurse labor shortages.You are upfront and I was delighted to be informed upon arrival of the wait time. This approach is very professional.

Understaffed. If I could give 0 stars I would. What’s the point in scheduling an appointment if you’re still waiting an hour and a half? People getting called back before us who showed up later with no appointment. Hire more medical professionals to increase efficiency on your busier days?? Corporate GREED. Zero excuse. Overall visit was good. Total time was 2.5 hours with about 1.5 hours before I was seen as a walk in. PA and Nurse/tech were efficient and treatment was appropriate. Front desk was effective, but somewhat blunt.

Very helpful staff, my daughter and I were having a rough morning, come to find out we both had strep throat. The nurses and doctor were very fast in trying to figure out what was going on. I had gone to my naval medical facility the day before, and was told it’s just a cold and was turned away because I came outside of their sick call hours. If I ever have any other medical issues or need medical help I will just come to urgent care, here I know I will be taken care of as fast as possible.

Was told at intake to consider a tele-health visit. Waited two hours and paid $100 to see the PA-C for 5 minutes to tell me to follow up with my primary care physician and that labs may be needed. He give me the diagnosis that I listed on the intake form.

Very professional and yet personable. Glad I went as a disabled veteran from the VA under the Mission Act. No cost to me. Thank you and God bless you. They also ordered X-rays right there with immediate results. Thank you so much for your service to our vets.

I had a scheduled follow up and I was seen within 20 minutes of checking in. Usually the wait is 30 mins to an hour+. Dr Jensen was attentive, informative, and decisive. I recommend this provider.

Did not have an appointment. Check in was via an application on the phone. I had issues and did a paper check in. Front desk staff were present but not very friendly. Nursing staff and physician were efficient and had me out the door with appropriate medication about 10 minutes after being put into a room. Did however have to wait about 2 hours in the waiting room which wasnt unreasonable since I did not have an appointment and my medical issue was a painful skin rash.

Very satisfied with my visit. The nurse is always pleasant. Sorry dont remember her name. Was seen by Nurse Practitioner Sherry Whaley was very through with me and making sure I get all the care I need.Best visit ever! Made sure to set a follow up with them next Saturday.

Wait even with an appointment was horrible, front desk was uncaring. So many upset people in the waiting room. However the provider that saw my son once we got back was top notch. Everyone around here knows the reputation for this office but because of her I almost forgot I was in urgent care in Elizabeth city. She was fantastic.

The front desk were more interested in their lunch order than their patients! The Pa stated he would be right back with my paperwork and after an hour and me having to go to the restroom again, I asked where he was and how much longer he would be.INSTEAD of checking on my paperwork they answer me by stating We only have one provider.The staff had no concerns that I was in pain, had been there for hours, or if I should be checked out, they just went back to giggling, having their lunch and talking with each other. Since, Im a mental heath therapist, run the Elizabeth City office and the Clinical Director for the agency I know how an office should be managed and your Elizabeth City office is lacking in companion for the client and needs to be trained in professional conduct.

Front staff was pleasant, patient (I had left my Medicare in the car and go to go out to get it) and very professional dealing with everyone that came in. The nurse was pleasant and proficient in her care and demeanor. The treating NP was very detailed, professional and knowledgeable of what was going on with me. In and out was in quite a timely manner. A top quality session. Thank you all.

Was a great experience....only thing arrived at 12:45 and left at 3:30 long wait but understandable when one is a walk in.. Front desk, NP and PA were polite, pleasant and listened patiently, they called my prescription and I was out of there.. The offices and waiting rooms were clean and well lighted. ThanksThe only thing I felt sorry for some senior citizens over 79 -80 somethings that were there and had to wait that long and longer...I would have let them go in front of me if needed. . Would be nice if older people and children would take preference...there was a couple of 80s something that the husband was ill...and another 80something left because couldnt wait any longer.

I had the best experience from the front desk, to nurse/ xray tech and Dr Johnson was amazing. I fractured my arm and this urgent care went above and beyond to ensure I was taken care of.

Making the appointment online was easy. Even though I got there 5 minutes late, I didnt have to wait long. The entire staff was kind and friendly from start to finish.

Wait was too long. Had a 12:20 appointment and didn’t get seen to after 2:30 pm. Appt need to take precedence over walk-ins. Dr in with you all over two minutes. So I don’t know what the hold up was. This is sad and they need to do better.

They were helpful, very helpful. With the issues I was having they got me back very quickly. I was so thankful for that. Took me ahead of other people because I guess mine was more urgent. They sent my prescriptions to the Food Lion pharmacy right across the parking lot. Followed up today with a call saying that I may also need an anabiotic and they called that in. I was very pleased and very grateful for their help.

Had to check out the amenities in my new town. NextCare in Elizabeth City is darn good. They willingly set appointments online for the same day or take walk ins. A bit of a wait, not bad at all and they warned with a sign at the door that they were short staffed.Still the visit was shorter than the time it took to get my RXs. But Hey! At least the pharmacy is open on a holiday!

Above standard care, especially for an urgent care facility. We have had 3 family members treated there (as an option instead of the ER), over five years. They have been consistent with phenomenal treatment and bedside manner. Every single staff member there is caring and kind. Highly recommend.

Dr. Sherry is always so sweet and thorough! The wait was long due to them being short staffed but they were very nice and for the best they could.

The wait was long. I had an appointment for 3:20 and wasn’t taken back until 5:45ish. With that being said I was informed at checkin that there was only one provider and there would be an extended wait. Every staff member from checkin, to triage, to my provider(I believe her name was Ari) was extremely polite, knowledgeable, and did everything to give the most positive patient experience. It’s unfair to hold a clinic to wait times if they aren’t staffed and it’s extra hard for the staff who is there to provide such an excellent care with unhappy and tired patients. Hats off to this amazing staff.

Good experience. Check in, wait time, Physician’s time wasn’t too long and rather prompt. The front desk receptionist, attending nurse and the Physician were all very pleasant. Atmosphere was also pleasant and peaceful. My issue was acknowledged and I received the necessary treatment. Also, my first time ever visiting a Dr’s facility or clinic with a movie playing in the wait area and the examining room. Although animated, I enjoyed the first time experience.

Long wait but thats expected. The place was full but I had a chance to leave and go get something to eat and not lose my spot . The staff were very nice and attentive.

I scheduled an appointment online and the interface was really easy to work with. I unfortunately ended up waiting over an hour, but it was packed so I wasnt upset. Everyone who I interacted with who worked there was so kind and really wanted the best for me. It was really awesome because a lot of times in healthcare, they look and treat you like a number. They were really kind :) I recommend!!

My visit was on the morning of March 19, 2024. I arrived shortly before they opened and was the third person in line to check in a little after 8:00. I was so sick I could barely figure out how to check in... after fumbling around with my phone, one of the receptionists said I was checked in. I sat down near the check-in window and watched similar things happen to people with people trying to figure out how to check in. I wonder why there were several people at the reception window and they couldnt help people.I asked to use the bathroom after 10 AM. Upon returning to my seat, I learned that I hadnt checked in. I was so sick that I didnt realize that my phone had no service and no way of checking in.Once I got checked in. The process went much quicker. It was after noon my the time I was able to get my antibiotics filled and onto slow recovery.Several days passed, and I wasnt feeling better, so I made an appointment to see my primary care provider. I learned that I was underdosed with antibiotics, and blood work revealed that I had an infection.I understand that there was only one PA on duty that day, and he can only do so much. However, I dont get why you need several people to tell patients to scan the barcode.

Larry saw my child who was coughing, lethargic and running a fever for over a week. His exam was nearly non existent, said its just a virus. CHKD the next day, with pneumonia and mycoplasm.

Very pleased with PA Jensen and the other staff members. The wait time was reasonable. My reason for four stars instead of five is because the facility needs some cosmetic updates~it’s really showing its age.

When I actually saw the NP it was fine. I made an appointment for 1130 I think but didnt see anyone til about 1. Whats the point of making an appointment when walks get see before you. I under triage protocol but from what I saw we all were equally sick.

Discrepancy issues at the front desk due lack of communication of behalf of staff. Lack of transparency of pricing. Lack of professionalism, and empathy from front desk and nursing staff. Pricing is outrages.One instance, they lied to my immigrant mother about pricing, charged her membership fees without asking her if she wanted it first, were rude, and did not properly explain or assist.Fortunately, the physicians are always kind.

There was only one provider when I arrived for my appointment. The wait was over 1-1/2 hours, and I don’t think they were able to prioritize for those with appointments (or at least it didn’t appear to be the case). Once I saw the provider, a Physician Assistant, the process was smooth.

I made an appointment and walked in to no wait. Was in and out in 30 minutes and the nurse apologized for the wait, but I have never been in and out of an urgent care as efficiently and quickly as this. Will definitely be our family’s go-to location now. Met with professionalism, efficiency, and great care.

Though the wait was a bit Longer than I expected. When they called me, I told them I had another appointment within 30 minutes. They really got the ball rolling. They were very professional And alternative to my needs.

The website indicated they were accepting walk-ins, but upon arrival, we were turned away at the front desk. It was disappointing not to be able to get my daughter tested for strep. Highly advise seeking medical assistance elsewhere.

Waiting to be seen was 3 1/2 hrs. And it took 45 minutes to register before your put on the list to be seen.

It sucked they overcharged me for doing nothing. I cannot believe y’all charge $330 just for office visit. That’s such a rip off when you know the insurance doesn’t even cover that much.Can you please tell me how you can justify charging someone $330 for office visit when I had to wait two hours to go in to see the person and then I was back in the room for another hour I feel like y’all should be paying me there was no one in the waiting room except two other people

If it werent for the fact I was able to at least laugh while being seen, I would give a one star rating. I fell on Wednesday while rollerskating and broke my wrist and opposite elbow. Unfortunately NextCare was closed at the time of my accident, so I made an appointment for the following morning. One of the ladies at the front desk doesnt really show sympathy or patience for anyone, so that was off putting while trying to check in. Paid my copay and waited about 45 minutes after check in to be seen, which was fine, there were several people in front of me. The visit went well, I was given a sling and told to keep the brace on that I already had. I was prescribed meds for pain, given a copy of my x-rays, told to follow up with orthopedics, and given a note that I could return to work on Monday (today as I write this).The office called me later Thursday afternoon to send over a referral to the orthopedic surgeon. Found out this morning (again, Monday, four days after), that my referral was never sent over. Please get it together, NextCare. This isnt the first issue Ive had at that office.

Had an appointment scheduled for 3:50 to come in for an appointment, mind you said appointment was made at 1:04. We got here and people that had came here AFTER us were able to get in and out within 30 minutes or so. About 3 hours later we finally got in so we could get treated, and its not like we could leave and go to the ER considering they had already ran my moms insurance and already charged us for the appointment. Doctors are nice and friendly but the wait is terrible.

Long delay with appointment, medical associate (Obtain vital signs) was non approachable and frank rude, no swab, X-ray or palpation of injury was obtained.Antibiotics were prescribed from information given.Individual who forward prescription to CVS was very courteous and approachable.I highly recommend associates receive communication and professional patient care training ASAP.This was a terrible experience. I would NOT recommend the facility to anyone.

This morning, I woke up around 3 and couldnt get back to sleep for a long while because I could feel something in my throat that wouldnt go down; this condition had been going on for about 2 weeks. I made an appointment at the local Nextcare for the afternoon and showed up a little early. The waiting room wasnt too crowded through our time there. We saw a PA; he listened to my account and after checking a few things, concluded that I should see an ENT because he wasnt able to see the area that was causing the condition. He also gave me a list of ENT offices, in Elizabeth City as well as Chesapeake. Over-all, I was pleased with the visit, and relieved that there was a practical next step. Highly recommend; patience is needed but well worth it.

The nurse and NP were awesome and we were in and out within an hour. Very disappointed in the fact that we made an online appointment at 8am and online days to arrive 10 minutes early. hours on the door were from 8-8. We arrived 10 minutes early, It was 25 degrees outside with several people in line by 8. No lights were on so obviously staff must not have arrived to work and couldn’t open at 8:00 am. none ever came to the door to let folks in until 8:10. Your business should have at least one staff person arrive to work before it is time to open your doors.

The wsit time was a little long, But the staff was great.It was worth the wait. The Doctor was very understanding and professional. Thanks because my foot had me in so much pain that i could hardly walk. He had some compassion for me and took me off my feet . Thank you so much.

I was a walk in. The wait time less than 30 min which I consider ideal. Staff was very friendly. The NP had me in and out with Rx for strep. The Office was clean.

Horrible horrible experience, I would have rather drove 45 minutes to Chesapeake for medical treatment. I would not recommend this place at all. The PA was very very rude and had no personality whatsoever, after my initial examination he walked back in 10 minutes later and “shoved” my discharge paperwork in my hand without any explanation. Checked in at 11:20 for and 11:40 appointment, didn’t walk out until after 1:00 pm . The waiting room is so so outdated, made me feel sicker than I was before I walked in! It felt like been stunk in a 90’s episode of ER , without the bad acting. My advice take yourself to Nowcare for true medical care!

I did have a long wait, but they only had 1 provider working today (so I don’t hold it against them). The staff were friendly and very helpful! Once I saw the provider, she got me and out fairly quickly while listening to me!

The provider was more concerned with getting my money than helping me. She did not even know how to accurately assess the lungs. She diagnosed and treated flu even though my flu screening was negative. I would not recommend this place to anyone.Update 1/5/23: I have pneumonia…..

The woman at the front desk leaves something to be desired. You cant hear her through the glass and they try to get you to leave and make a tele-health appointment. My wife has a sore throat, dont really think tele-health is the best option in this circumstance. You can make an appointment online but its not really an appointment so we waited all day for an appointment that doesnt save us any time!Please Elizabeth City, please stop opening Mexican restaurants and storage units and put in another urgent care center.

I booked in advance and filled out paperwork. Everyone was nice and professional. Even though I had an appointment I waited around 2 hours before being seen but I wasnt surprised by this.

Great support staff despite a 4 hour long wait, but I just wasted my time and money with one of the most unprofessional Nurse Practitioners I have ever met. The exam although maybe five minutes was not pleasant. My daughter said she could tell that the NP was not in a good mood and the NP clearly didn’t care about my daughter or what the NP was doing ie her job. After my daughter received a chest X-ray I was handed a couple sheets of paperwork and told I could leave. No one bothered to follow up with a diagnosis, explanation of expected treatment, that a prescription was even ordered, or even what the prescription was, how it should be taken and what it was for. When I asked the person who handed paperwork- an admin staff I guess I was never told- the NP came out of somewhere with her voice raised as she was taken aback that I questioned the situation. She wanted to intimidate me, however it didn’t work. The NP- a supposed medical “professional” was rude, unwilling to answer any questions calmly but instead did this quite loud in the middle of the hallway embarrassing my daughter. I will not be picking up the medication because I still was never given any medication instructions or the help I asked for but I will be taking my daughter tomorrow to a real professional medical provider. One that doesn’t raise her voice when asking about the results of a chest X-ray and what diagnosis and prognosis will be for my child.

2+ hour wait just to get called back, even with an appointment. 3+ hours total visit, for a 5 minute rapid strep test.

I came in for two urgent care visits this week. During my first visit staff took 1.5 hours, during which they paid direct attention to my needs, and prescribed, appropriately. On my second visit, where, it was apparent that other symptoms were appearing, staff redoubled their efforts, tested extensively, and spent closer to 3 hours with me. They confirmed three different disease processes, and, again prescribed appropriate treatment. Ive never had a GP spend that sort of time and care, confirming diagnoses! Thank You, Next Care.

Missed a step and sprained my ankle. From the beginning to the end, staff was patient and professional.

My son was misdiagnosed, saying that it was fluid behind his ears, causing him to collapse. The doctor Suggested a medication for a kid that was four and up and my child was only one. Right after leaving there, we found out that my son was collapsing because he was having seizures. Not because of fluid in the ears. We ended up going to chkd

I waited 4 hours to be seen and just for them to tell me to come back Monday because they did not have what they needed to draw my labs… I was punctured with a bloody needle at work, and now I have to wait a whole weekend to get labs drawn.. I pray nothing happens to me.

This morning at 10:00, I scheduled a visit to come in today for an appointment at 1:15. I checked in online at 10:00. After I arrived, I checked in at the desk and was told there were 11 people ahead of me, most of them were walk-ins with no appointment. Instead of prioritizing the appointment, they placed me on the waiting list behind the people with no appointment. What is the point of scheduling? Why did I bother checking in online? I could have come in at 10 this morning but I didn’t want to wait in a room with 10 other sick people. Now it’s 2:45 and I am still waiting. Fortunately the ladies at the desk were accommodating and allowed me to wait in the car. Still very disappointed that I wasted my time.

4:30 appt. Was brought back about 5:45, out the door 6:15. Everything went well, service what exactly what I needed. 4-5 star if the wait wasnt so long. They did say they only had one provider that day and were experiencing longer wait times than usual.

- Treatment was very professional.- Handled in a timely manner.- Im not sure how your staffing is handled, but more than one provider on site would be helpful for your efficiency.

Outragious wait of 3+ hours for a scheduled appointment, then the P.A. that saw me, did not listen to me on what symptoms I had. Focused on the throat and compleatly ignored the sinus issue I was complaining about. Then wrote a compound prescription that only 1 pharmacy can fill that wasnt open by the time I got out. I understand that it is cold and flu season, and things can get busy, but 3 hours! Only to feel like I got broomed out the door! Extreemly unhappy and if this is how you practice medicine, then dont.

I took my granddaughter to NextCare in Elizabeth City yesterday. The doctor who saw her was one of the best physicians! She was so patient and thoughtful to explain how to manage multiple medications.

Id rather chance it than get bad info from a virtual meeting. I wont be back here for care.

I walked into Urgent Care yesterday and was overwhelmed with the long wait. The receptionist rescheduled my appointment for the next day.By making an appointment, I did not wait very long today. PA and nurses were very receptive, and checkout was done quickly when I left.It was a smooth and pleasant experience under my circumstances, and I appreciated it!!

It was real good, didn’t have to wait long to see the physician. He gave me instructions on what to buy otc to help with my symptoms. Total time 40 minutes.

THEY ARE MONEY HUNGRY CROOKSI DO NOT GO THERE TO GET TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF AND SCAMMED!!! .I am extremely upset about my appointment. I went up for a DOT physical and had all my paperwork filled out before I paid and there was an automatic disqualifying medication listed and yet your policy is now set up to get peoples money. They knew the whole time and before charging me that I wouldnt pass the physical because of the medication yet had me waiting 4 HOURS to be told I could not pass due to the medication. So I not only waisted my time and money to be odd from work to sit there for no reason but was deceitfully charged money for nothing! Its criminal and extremely sneaky and evil to knowingly take someones money and time when yall knew all along that I wouldnt pass. Im furious and at a minimum should be reimbursed the fee I paid for nothing. I was told yall used to tell people before charging them if they saw any absolute disqualifiers in the paperwork but recently changed the policy to taking the money and waisting patients time and hard earned money. Its agregious, despicable and the most outrageous display of GREED Ive ever seen. I will no longer ever go back to any of your clinics and I will spread the word of how greedy, sneaky and criminal yall really are. UNBELIEVABLE!!! YALL SHOULD BE ABSOLUTELY ASHAMED FOR TREATING THAT COME FOR HELP THAT WAY. The PA that conducted my completely pointless physical was very nice, down to earth and an HONEST GOOD PERSON and luckily she was the one to give me the unfortunate and infuriating news and had it been delivered to me by anyone else in any other way I would have had an absolute fit in the office. Yall keep doing things that way and doing people that way and yall are going to have some problems some major problems because people are not going to put up with you stealing their money!

Despite having an appointment, still had to wait for another 44 minutes to have a TB skin test ( req. for job) in a room CROWDED with sick ppl.

Staff was excellent and efficient. Everyone was super friendly and they doctors and nurses took time to listen to my concerns and medical history. The only reason I am not giving them a 5 star rating is because I made an appointment and wasn’t seen for over 2 and a half hours past my appointment time. Walk ins were seen before me so I didn’t see the point in making an appointment just to end up waiting that long anyways. It’s a first come, first serve basis.

Other than the 2-3hr wait for a walk in visit the experience was fine. Front desk and clinical staff are all nice and easy to deal with. The visit itself was quick once we went back.

I thank the provider for helping me but the wait was extremely too long. I waited over 3 hours for he doctor to only come in less than 3 mins to check me.

I was a walk in... so I expected to be waiting awhile as they fit me in between patients with appointments. They were great. I logged in at 2:55... I was seen ... Treated .. received a prescription.. and written directions for follow on care... And was in my car by 4:00 heading to the pharmacy. The MA and PA were thorough and efficient. I felt like they really cared about my condition and that I understood the importance of the follow up care. Thanks to all that processed my information and treated my condition.

Set an appointment for my mother. We arrived half hour early. After an hour wait past appointment time, asked at front desk how much longer. Was told an hour and half, six people still ahead of her. Everyone with appointment? No, walk ins. Walk ins get in line because no appointment necessary.I could have gotten her there sooner or anytime apparently no priority. Because she is 98 and wheelchair bound, in pain from a fall……I was trying to make this as easy on her as possible .. quite a system. We sat a little longer than decided to cancel and find alternate treatment. Very detached receptionist.

They were busy so it was a wait, but they work quickly and efficiently to get you in as quickly as possible. All of the employees are as nice as can be. I’d definitely recommend them to all my friends and family.

I want to give more stars because the provider, the front desk receptionist, and the nurse I had were all very friendly and listened to everything I said. However, the wait is what knocked off a star. I was there for three hours waiting. Once I got in the exam room, things move very efficiently.

Service was great, satisfactory and professional. The wait was rather lengthy but overheard it was due to understaffing. That seems to be the case with other businesses in this area particularly so it seems. However, Im very pleased with the diagnosis and treatment. They have my respect, trust and support. The physician assistant I had had a horrible bedside manner. First off he did not render the care I desperately needed. In fact I ended up at the ER at Chesapeake Regional Hospital. I have epiglottis and had a bad infection in which I could not eat or drink and the pain was very very server. I was aspirating a lot . He talked down to me and it made me feel less than how a patient should have been cared for. He stood there arms crossed in which no caring or compassion was given. I was in pain so bad from the throat infection and swelling and burning was unbearable and left having to suffer until the next day I went to the Chesapeake hospital and they were wonderful and helped me greatly. I felt I was judged by the PA because when I asked for pain meds his prompt answer was harshly spoken as NO. He could have responded politely by saying How about we wait and you can try the prescriptions I have put in and see if you get some relief. If not then come back and we can see what else we can try and try a couple days of pain meds until you can talk with your primary care doctor. And let him know the pain your are having and he will help you. he could have even said that we have to be very careful on giving them out because of new regulations. And I know others suffer because of others abusing it and we can get into trouble. Its all in how you respond to your patients. Plan out and teach yourself on what to say on situations such as this. But the rest of the staff were great. He needs more bedside training for the sake of the patients he sees.

The staff are good people- I have no quarrel with them. However, I do have a problem with whomever is in charge of hiring people over there. Our appointment was at 3:50. My fiancé and I got home at 7:20. It is no longer an urgent care when it takes four hours to be seen. This isnt just a problem for patients- its a problem for the poor staff who are overworked and who im sure get fussed at constantly by impatient people who have no idea its gonna take that long to be seen. For the sake of the staff, please hire more people.

My only complaint is that even with making an appointment and showing up 30mins early for my appointment I still had to wait 3 hours to be seen. Not sure the reasoning behind having appointments if you still have to wait 3hrs past your appointment time.

The service was remarkable. Each staff member was polite, professional and patient. There was minimal wait time to be seen. The facility was neat and clean. The prescription was called in right away and when leaving, more than one staff said; I hope you feel better soon. That means so much.

I went here March 20th, and I wont be coming back. The staff was very friendly and professional. The wait time was very long, even with an appointment, but it would have been a long wait at the hospital too. The only difference is Urgent Care is a lot cheaper. Thats why I went to get a chest x-ray there. If I went to my primary care doctor for what was wrong with me, he just would have sent me to the hospital.The reason I wont be back would be the nurse practitioner I saw. She had a condescending attitude, she was rude and she literally rolled her eyes at me. She is definitely in the wrong kind of work with a attitude like that. I was hoping I could go to Urgent Care when I needed a x-ray to save money because I have medical bills out the wazoo, but I guess not. I definitely do not recommend this place. Oh, there was a woman across from me coughing up a storm, blowing her nose in the air, sneezing and she had no mask on. Everyone else who was sick did. NO ONE told her to wear a mask to protect the wellbeing of everyone else in the room. If youre not sick when you come here, you probably wont leave that way.

Because things are so different now they had to change how everyone is treated. Waiting in my car wasnt so bad since I got to sleep while waiting for them to call me for my visit. Super sweet, respectful, professional nurses! I saw the NP and I was so impressed! Again super sweet, respectful, and professional! Was very pleased with my visit!!

We were seen quickly, diagnosed quickly and on our way home. Quickly deduced that the UTI from a previous visit wasnt responding to original antibiotics, so quickly prescribed an alternative. We did have a long wait, but it was worth it.

The visit was very beneficial and as a result I am beginning to feel better. However the wait was long due to only 1 doctor being available.

Customer service is great, but they will let you schedule an appointment time then take the walk ins first. You will watch your self go from 3rd to 7th. Then when you ask they will tell you sorry they don’t know why the system does that!!! Never going or recommending to anyone!! Rather go to hospital!

I only gave a 4 stars because of how long I had to wait. The health care provider was wonderful! Well worth waiting for. I could tell she had thoroughly read through my records before she walk into the room. She took time to sit down and make sure I was comfortable with the diagnosis and protocol .

The doctor and staff were great! My foot looks crazy but the doctor lady stitched me up pretty good!!

I would give it a zero star if I could. Complete mismanagement of appointments and patients. Really no point at all to have patients schedule appointments then have them arrive and say sorry we only have one provider so we’re backed up three hours.Did you honestly not know that you only had one provider on the schedule, and if you did why the hell would anyone continue allowing people to book appointments.If there was a patient first facility or literally ANY other Urgent Care facility that was run competently this place would be out of business.

The staff from the desk to each person that assist us was very pleasant and helpful. It was a long wait but they treat each patient with equal time it was stressful for us but the made our visit less stressful. Thanks to each of them great job. I am sure that they were tired but it didn’t show while taking care of us

The first time I was there, the so called doctor was a older woman and she didnt even really look at my thumb, but when I went back today, the other doctor was alot better, took his time and actually examined my thumb and hand

Considering how crowded the urgent care was today, the staff did a great job getting patients in and out. I thank them for their service and patience.

Walked in with an appointment at 7:40 & the waiting room was FULL! However the saw me in a rather timely fashion. The staff was very friendly. I feel that the doctor met my needs & Im very satisfied.

I got there at 9:00. The waitlist said that there were 30 people in front of me. The 45 minutes that I was there only one person got taken back to be seen. I ended up leaving and going to Chesapeake.

I was first and foremost impressed with the facilities commitment to its precautions while handling a heavy influx of patient needs. I was then impressed by the consistent kindness and friendliness that the staff displayed not only over the phone but also in person. The wait was long although that is to be expected and the care I was shown more than made up for it! I would highly recommend this facility and its physicians!

Everything went great they took good care of me. I broke my finger an they got it cleaned up. X-ray an bandage me up in no time

I tried to go on a Saturday morning around 10 am they were already booked up for the day so I made an appointment for Sunday morning. They took me in on time, was promptly seen, X-rays taken , diagnosed, treated and on my way in under 2 hours. Jessica is amazing and very thorough.

Very nice staff. Providers are patient and listen to your needs. They will keep you informed on wait times and work rather quickly. Would definitely Recommend and come back.

The FNP Sherry, and the nurse Eric are utterly amazing. They were so pleasant and listened to my concerns. They got us in and out fairly quick once it was our turn. I am so glad they work at this location and are here to help people feel better!
