Planned Parenthood - Denver Central

I had a blood draw from routine testing get mishandled, and they were unable to complete the test. The follow up appointment at another planned parenthood center couldn’t find my veins, and I got turned away and told to go to a completely different medical center as a third appointment, just to finish routine testing.I’ve never had an experience like this at my usual planned parenthood center for routine testing, I should have just gone there to begin with - maybe if my blood was handled better here, none of these follow up appointments would have needed to happen?If you find a planned parenthood center you like, just stick with it, no matter how appealing other times at different centers might be. I thought it would be more convenient to start here, but needing a total of three appointments just to finish one routine test is not a convenient or useful way to spend my limited time as a human.

If I could give zero stars I would. Over 10 years ago, I was coerced by my boyfriend to get an abortion here. Worst and most traumatizing experience of my life. I bled alone for a week straight, no one from this clinic cared. They collected their money and violently removed my child from my womb. Then they discarded the remains of my baby into toxic waste. I am slowly gaining the courage to speak up about what happened to me here. I am still healing from the long-term effects, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Darkest period of my life.

Called, waited for 35 minutes on hold, was told to go in person and that there was a possibility for a same day cancellation for the apt I needed. Arrived, was told to leave and that I shouldn’t have been told to come because they’re understaffed. After I left I opened up the website to book the next available- it happened to be today. There was a cancellation. I snagged the apt immediately and have the actual booking locked in. My appointment here is at 4:30, and I am here 30 minutes early, and they won’t honor it because the providers were too far behind and the manager said that she doesn’t want them to stay late. Perhaps block the slot if you don’t have any availability. Unkind on top of it all. And the next apt isn’t for a month out.I won’t return :(

Always amazing care with the most understanding compassionate staff. Ive never felt more cared for at any other clinic. They took all of my concerns seriously unlike Denver health which actually got me sent to a different emergency where I finally got a diagnosis as to what was wrong with me. Im doing so much better now.

I’ve been going to this Planned Parenthood for over a year now to get testosterone and it’s always been a positive experience. Being a trans person in a medical setting can be scary but the staff here has always been caring, sensitive, and most of them are queer too! It is such a supportive and safe environment and I would highly recommend them for everyone, especially trans people looking into hormone therapy :)

I had a great experience at this Planned Parenthood from start to finish. I got an IUD inserted and was very nervous but the staff made the experience infinitely times better. Staff was very nice and supporting, also very gentle with the whole process which was one my concerns. I also loved one of the nurses Cori, she was a blast and really calmed my nerves down. 10/10 experience! Thank you planned parenthood!

Had my IUD installed here and the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating and so so so so so sweet and understanding. I highly recommend this clinic they help with birth control and for me they were able to do it the same day. they will talk to you about your options in great detail and make sure you are getting the right method of birth control. The IUD insertion was fast and they tried to be as gentle with me as possible. Highly recommend this clinic they will go above and beyond for women in order to help them.

Great experience. Surprisingly easy to find parking. Got my IUD removed thank god!! Had it for 2 weeks (inserted somewhere else) they were able to get me in the next day! It was painless and so easy. They were so kind. It takes a long time. The questions etc takes like 40 minutes so be prepared for that. After that is complete it is fast. Long time patient of PP. Only comment is the entrance is on a very high traffic road downtown so it probably causes alot of insecurity.

Ive been coming here for a while now, and I always feel safe and welcome by the staff. Levi and Quin were both notabley awesome- super friendly, and really put in the effort when I was anxious to help me feel better. This is a facility with queer staff who really care about you.

Incredible experience with the kindest providers and staff I’ve ever met! I came here for my annual women’s wellness exam and they went above and beyond. The assistant was very empathetic, supportive, and thorough with collecting my history and ensuring all of my concerns were addressed. Not once did I feel rushed. The clinician was personable and kind. She was responsive to if anything felt painful and educated me on breast health and reproductive health. I will definitely continue coming here for my annual visits. I highly recommend choosing PP!Thank you all so much for your kindness and for providing me with peace of mind today. ❤️

I’ve had good experiences here in the past but today was very frustrating. After a half hour drive, my partner and I show up for his scheduled appointment and there is a sign on the door saying that this Planned Parenthood was closed. After talking to a representative on the phone, we found out that they had a “massive plumbing issue” and had to close. Fair enough, however the fact that there was no message or indication to us about the sudden closure is odd. Why can’t they send out an automated text to everyone with an appointment saying “hey! We’re closed!”? While we were waiting, another woman pulled in, just as surprised as we were by the closure. After speaking on the phone, the soonest possible reschedule was Over a Month Away. They were unable to provide us any sort of help or support, and only “maybe” able to get a prescription extension until late September. Why is there no option for like, a telehealth appointment or an emergency appointment at another clinic or, like, anything? My partner is trans and is out of his hormones and was supposed to get important bloodwork done today and was just left high and dry with little/no recourse, and without his hormones. Hopefully the extension goes through? I guess?

Update: They changed my Rx and dosage without telling me. Verbally they told me one thing on the phone and then they sent something else to the pharmacy. This place is abusive. Dont even come here as a trans person.Honestly i was so excited to come here and they’re a hot mess. They ordered two tests to check my T that was unnecessary. they knew i was on prep as well and didn’t order that in the blood test. Now i have to come back and pay for another visit. Are you kidding me? I have some of the best insurance literally money can buy and it’s triple the price of what i was paying at my PCP. Why would i go here? I’m trying to support you all but it doesn’t seem worth it.

I love this location!! Im so used to doctors & nurses being dismissive and holier-than-thou, but not here. They will sit with you, and learn why youre there and they work to find a solution WITH you- even if its just a bandaid, theyll help you pick one you like. Theyre attentive while still being conscious of appointment time, and they go through the appointments so smoothly that you go back to your car and sit there like, hold on, I was in there for 45min? WHERE DID THE TIME GO??The only issue Ive ever had was with trying to make an appointment (no availability for weeks/long hold times), but I understand they offer a lot of services to a lot of people and they cant just drop everything for individual people. I need to also be better about making my appointments in advance so thats also on me. Great people doing amazing work. :)

So I must say that this Planned Parenthood location was by far one of the best Doctors office I have ever been to. They were able to take care of my needs with the upmost respect and understanding I believe I have ever encountered. Their staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They were able to handle everything I needed all the way to changing my gender marker on my drivers license. They have their appointments scheduled and their lobby set up to meet todays standards for social distancing. I never saw too many people on the lobby as they did most of their check in procedure over the phone while you say in your car. I would recommend this planned parenthood location to anyone seeking the services they perform.

I loved my visit today. I came to get my IUD taken out, and the process was fast and easy. The whole staff was SO nice and made me feel very comfortable and very informed. They also had free menstrual kit packs and free condom packs in the waiting area. :)

Went in for a walk in pregnancy test as it says on the website walk ins are always welcome , To get there and the receptionist tells me to go buy one at the store? Obviously I wouldnt have went for a FREE pregnancy test which they offer with my insurance if it was that easy for me to go buy one at the store. The lobby was empty and the ladies in the back didnt seem busy at all for her to tell me they were too busy to see me. Really ignorant for her to tell me something like this.

Wonderful experience here. All of the staff were incredibly kind and professional. I had to get my Nexplanon implant removed from my arm and it was a quick, painless procedure. Afterwards, I was scared of the bill because I don’t have insurance. They helped setup an affordable payment plan based on my income. I can’t even begin to explain how appreciative I am for how they handled billing. I’ve avoided critical healthcare for years because I thought I couldn’t afford it. This organization does such wonderful work. Thank you to all of your staff!

Definitely the best first experience ever. I came in for a gender affirming care appointment (my first one) and they were super sweet and accommodating. the process was super chill and I recommend coming here for gender affirming care

Ive been going here for my hrt for almost 3 years and Ive never received anything but top notch care! the receptionists are always really kind and welcoming. the physicians here have really worked with me to make sure my prescriptions are fitting and work for me. Im also one to always have a lot of questions which they are always thorough to answer.also, tell your phlebotomist that I saw last week that they were incredible! I think I freaked them out when I told them that Im also a phlebotomist but their technique was flawless and I didnt even bruise! the femme with glittery string things in their long dark hair? top notch care once again. give them them a raise.

Just went to my appointment to wait in my car for an hour and a half to get checked in then was told they didn’t take my insurance so my appointment would be 210 out of pocket. Honestly who has 210 dollars right now they can spend on going to the doctor? Definitely not me and I just moved to the state not that long ago and it seams no where takes my insurance. I thought planned parenthood was supposed to be a place that helped people out, seams pretty useless to me. Just another big money making organization that doesn’t really care about you. Nice to know there’s really no where to turn when your broke and from out of state.

After years of supporting Planned Parenthood by donating when I could, I came in as a patient. One of the best experiences at a gynecology practice! Everyone was so kind and professional: the front office staff, the medical assistant, and the clinician. I realized the appointment I had scheduled did not include a Pap smear, but they were able to fit me in for one and answered all my questions. Even when I am able to afford going to a private practice again, I would still like to come back to Planned Parenthood for any future appointmens.

This Planned parenthood is absolutely the worst the staff literally has no empathy and can care less about your concerns it is not OK to have an appointment at 10:30 and for them to tell you we have no idea when we’ll be able to see you! It is not OK for them not to value my time at all!! They just want you to shut up and sit down and accept that they will see you when they see you that is not acceptable my time is just as valuable as there’s just everyone else and if they were running late they should’ve called me or rescheduled me!!This Planned parenthood is the worst!

Ive been using planned parenthood since I was 17 I am now 34 I was told I could be seen as a walk in to get some birth control pills I arrived at 8:50am as they open at 9. I was told to wait for them to check in the people with appointments wich was fine with me. But after an hour passed and nobody acknowledged me my baby started getting cranky. So I asked if they knew if they would be able to see me. The front desk basically told me That as a walk in I should come prepared to sit and wait all day incase somebody dont show up. Very disappointed and annoyed

I had the absolute blessing of getting Evelyn to take care of me over the phone. I could not have had a more amazing experience. The way Evelyn speaks makes you feel at ease immediately. I had never had someone be so attentive to my needs. Evelyn explained everything so well in ways I was able to understand and was patient with any questions I might have had. Typically I have a great experience at planned parenthood, overall Im very disappointed with my most recent visitI called to refill a prescription. They told me they didnt have the prescription on file and had to see me in order to diagnose me. I had already been diagnosed, hence the need for a refilled prescriptionDuring the appointment they did nothing to diagnose as they claimed I was there for (and paid for). Instead they tried to insist I get on birth control and get a variety of vaccines for completely unrelated things that I never complained about.I told them during my initial call I had 0 interest in birth control because they prescribed me so many ones that didnt work with my body. And then during my exam my actual problems werent even addressed because they were too focused on the medications they wanted to prescribe and sell meOverall very upset I paid for an appointment when they didnt even need to give me one. Just wanted to charge me for an appointment in Hopes of getting me on more of their drugs that I dont need

It was truly one of the best experiences I have ever had. The staff was wonderful very knowledgeable compassionate and treated you like a person not just a Nother patient. I have always gone to A classic OB/GYN practice and always seem to felt judged even if it was just a regular Pap smear . They went above and beyond by making me feel comfortable and like they truly wanted to hear my concerns I think I will continue to choose Planned Parenthood over any other OB/GYN practice I have never had a better experienc in my life I would recommend it to anyone low class middle-class high class. They treat everybody the same and give some of the best care I have ever received doctors and staff were incredibly amazing

I called to get started on hormones... I made an appointment 3 Months ahead and waited the three months less than 24 hours till the appointment some one called me left me a message and told me my appointment was cancelled.... Less than 24 hours . And that was After I called and Confirmed the day before... I waited so long for the appointment. When I did call back to ask WHY the lady on the Other side was unsympathetic about the whole situation. And she refused to reschedule me because her manager was supposed to do that.... WOW !

They do good work here, but I’ve been to 3 appointments in the last few weeks, and they’ve all been consistently late by at least 30 minutes.Additionally, I once came in for an appointment and then was told I’d have to reschedule and come back because one of the nurses wasn’t available for the services I needed, despite booking the appointment and selecting the service I was interested in.

This is the best care I’ve ever received in a healthcare clinic. I felt the staff was extremely kind and helpful, and the person I saw was absolutely wonderful. All my questions were answered and fears assuaged through education. I’ll come here for all gynecological needs.

I didnt actually go to this location, but I just got off the phone with the woman at the front desk who was extremely helpful and pleasant! I called this location because of the good reviews. Unfortunately they were full today, but she made me an appointment at another PP for today in under 5 minutes. If customer service is any indication, I would certainly recommend this location!

Do not go here if you are trans and seeking hrt, especially if you have ANY medical problems that could possibly be affected. They are very nice and respectful but are they NOT competent... they are also not doctors. They dont know how to proporly dose people and their approach to any issues that come up that are not completly obvious is youre fine, see you in 3 months! :). They took two weeks to get my perception when it ahould have only been a few days because the pharmacy had one tiny problem and doctor couldnt understand simple instructions...

I tried for quite a few months to dispute the $95 I was supposed to owe. Every year I go to PP to renew my BC prescription. It has always been completely covered by insurance, with every medical plan Ive ever had. This past year because of COVID, I chose telehealth to renew my prescription. A few weeks later, I got a bill. Its also impossible to reach the office you are trying to get in contact with to dispute a bill. I finally got in contact with them and the woman at the office said that because it was telehealth, it was not coded as preventative. No one told me this and I told her Im disputing it. It should have been covered since I was not comfortable going into the office due to COVID and it was a routine BC annual renewal. The dispute was still being reviewed (taking way more than 30 days) and since I couldnt get a hold of anyone else again, I just ended up paying it. PP, if a patient chooses telehealth for a typical preventative service, you need to tell them it will not be covered by insurance.

Always super friendly and understanding. The service they provide is invaluable. They are always discreet and non judgmental. This planned parenthood is my primary feminine health caregiver.

Made an appointment here for a regular STD screening..at the time I had no health insurance..blonde receptionist told me the cost would be $121. When I raised my eyebrows in surprise she very matter-of-factly told me that I wouldnt find anywhere else cheaper...I almost believed her too, but as I filled out my paperwork I decided to quickly Google other screening clinics...within minutes I found Denver Public Health...(I ended up going there and paying $25....about $100 cheaper)..When I told receptionist that I was going to go somewhere else cheaper she did not even acknowlege that she had just given me false information (lied.) I expect more honesty and transparency from a non-profit organization.

I always have a positive experience here. The staff are highly professional, personable, and kind. Thankful to have a place here in Denver that provides such excellent care!
