Heart of Illinois Obstetrics & Gynecology

After a series of not-so-great gynecologist visits in the past, I am so happy and thankful to have found Heart of Illinois. Dr. Dalton was kind, compassionate, and understanding. She truly listened to my concerns and anxieties, and her approach to care was empathetic and validating. One small detail I caught on to that really impacted me and made a difference — Dr. Dalton always phrased the next step as a question asking permission. Rather than, “I’m going to do [x]” or “Please do [y] for me,” it was always, “Is it okay if I do [x]?” and “Are you comfortable doing [y]?” It made me feel at ease, in control, and safe. The front desk, nurse, and Dr. Dalton’s assistant were also incredibly kind and empathetic. Coupled with the Christian environment and approach, Dr. Dalton and the HOI team are truly an answer to my prayers.

Cannot recommend Dr Dalton enough! She is so kind and thorough. My insurance company was messing with my coverage and she got it straightened out right away! She is so gentle and compassionate.

The staff here are all wonderful at what they do. I have never felt like a number here. Dr. Dalton & Angela Klein go over and above. But, I dont want to leave out the rest of the staff. They are all friendly and professional. The best way to describe this office is EXCELLENT!!

I couldnt say enough positive things about Dr. Dalton and all the rest of the staff at Heart of Illinois. I came into my appointment so anxious and nervous. I didnt know what to expect. All staff, especially Dr. Dalton, were so gentle and reassuring to me. Dr. Dalton made uncomfortable examinations so much less anxiety-inducing than I thought they would be. She was gentle, caring, and understanding throughout the whole appointment. Im so glad to be a patient at this incredible office!!

Dr. Dalton at Heart of Illinois OBGYN is amazing. She takes her time and answers all your questions with a through explanation and makes sure that you understand what she is saying. I wish I had known about her office along time ago. All staff is very nice and make you feel welcomed.

I love this office! I have had both nurse practitioners, Angie and Abby! They are both phenomenal. They really take the time explain everything in detail with your health concerns. Highly recommend this office for all your women needs! 🙂

Two visits so far. On the way out, we clearly asked for a work absence note. Waited 25 minutes in the lobby. Eventually I could safely assume the request was instantly forgotten about or pushed to the back burner. Asked the front desk if they had the note ready as Ive waited 25 minutes now. I was advised they sent off a message, still waiting. 5-10 minutes later an RN came out and told us the work absence note was cumbersome and asked if we needed it each time. Cumbersome was the exact word used. I said yes. RN acted like this was such a big ordeal to print out a simple form, apply todays date, and sign it... The office will gladly bill you for everything, but simple requests that essentially enable you to show up are a burden according to this RN.Update 02/20/2023:Right after the 2nd or 3rd visit, the clinic lost my wifes blood vials and called the following day claiming this has never happened before and blamed FedEx for losing the blood. They said they dont know where the blood is at but it was not the clinics fault.The nurses are rushed and will say do you have any questions? I asked one question, how big is the baby inside my wife right now after about the 4th or 5th appointment. The nurse asked if I had the babyscripts app and said I can find all that information on there.02/09/2023 (worst day of our lives) - We called the clinic to make an emergency spontaneous appointment because my 6 month pregnant wife was bleeding, having contractions, and feeling downward pressure in her lower stomach / pelvic area. We arrived early and sat in the chair for about a half hour or longer. My wife literally told the nurse it feels like the baby is trying to come out and described her symptoms in detail. My wifes urine sample had stringy blood inside. The nurse was advised my wife was bleeding, very clearly. My wife counted 4 contractions on the way to the clinic (1 hour drive). The nurse said it was probably a urinary tract infection. My wife was never examined beyond wrapping a device around her stomach to listen for contractions I presume. My wife never got to speak to the doctor. Apparently the doctor was too busy since it was nearly closing time on a Thursday. The nurse came back in the room with a prescription for an antibiotic and called it a UTI. I requested the prescription be sent to Walmart Pharmacy. I was unable to even pickup the prescription because it was sent to the wrong pharmacy an hour away that would be closed by the time I got there.We went to sleep, my wife woke me up 9.5 hours after leaving the clinic to tell me her water just broke. I called the clinics hotline on a recorded phone line. I described everything to the person on the phone. Wasted 9 minutes talking to this person. They ask me if it is possible my wife could be pregnant? What a nightmare of incompetence from all levels.I drove my wife to St. Joseph Hospital (1 hour south). Nobody was ready and everything was nonchalant. Nobody helped my wife get undressed and put into a gown, I had to do it because all the nurses walked away. My wifes doctor (F) was nowhere to be found. The partner doctor shows up (M) and not long after the doctor arrived, the baby came out of my wife at 27 weeks and 1 day, 3 months premature.Now we get to watch our daughter struggle to breathe everyday in an incubator with undeveloped lungs and a grade 1 bleed in her brain (could get worse). The nurse could have completely stopped the premature labor or at least postponed it. Instead they sent us packing with an antibiotic prescription for a UTI my wife never even had (confirmed after test results came back).My wife cannot work now and will be stuck in Peoria for the next 3-5 months just hoping our daughter can stay alive and not have more serious issues later on in life...I would strongly encourage anyone reading this to pay attention to the clinics red flags. I saw them, I regret not trusting my gut.Update 04/25/2023 - We are still in the Peoria Hospital... Almost 3 months now already...

The quality of care, the kindness and compassion of the staff, nurses, and physicians are above and beyond. Dr Dalton takes her time and is so comforting in scary circumstances. Highly recommend for womens Healthcare!

I have been a patient of Dr. Daltons for over 6 years now, starting when I was a student as ISU. This practice has always treated me with the utmost professional care. Everyone at the office is so caring and compassionate through every step, making me feel comfortable and I’m not alone. I live 80 miles away and will continue to go to their practice. I am truly thankful for Dr. Dalton and her staff.

I love this practice so much. Dr. Daltons service through both my pregnancies and deliveries was so full of kindness, gentleness, and genuine care. During both my deliveries, she provided so much peace and encouragement, creating an atmosphere of calm in what is usually a stressful situation. Abby Cervantes, ANP has done an amazing job with the followup of both my deliveries, as well as made me feel listened to and understood with every question and concern in my annual appointments. They treat patients like people here, not just a number to rush through. So thankful someone recommended this practice to me 6 years ago!

I had my first appointment with nurse practitioner, Abby, today. She was so kind, knowledgeable and caring. Abby was very thorough in her examination of me and was always aware of my comfort. The other staff members were friendly and helpful. I look forward to being a patient at this lovely practice.

In a transformative visit to Dr.Jared K.Zotz a beacon of hope emerged after 12 years my wife has come up with a great news of pregnant . The clinics positive atmosphere and groundbreaking procedures marked a unique and extraordinary journey, inspiring not only personal joy but also offering hope to others facing similar challenges. Dr. Zotz an innovative care transcended conventional limits, bringing a long-awaited miracle to our life.

Nurse Rachel was amazing. I didnt feel like I was just another patient. She is very professional, listened to all my concerns and questions. Hannah is great at her job very sweet and helpful. Overall the staff is very kind and compassionate.

Absolutely love Heart of Illinois OBGYN! From the check in staff to the nurses, nurse practitioners& doctors! I’ve been a patient with them since the start of my womanhood, figuring what birth control worked best for me, having a baby and even some harder times! Dr. Dalton and her nurse practitioner Abbey always make me feel completely comfortable and safe as well as do a great job of keeping me in the loop with what exactly is going on. Very knowledgeable and always quick to respond to all questions and concerns!! I LOVE having the nurses line available cause sometimes you just have a question or don’t know if it warrants an appointment! 10/10 recommend!

The only NaPro trained surgeon to perform endometrial excision in central Illinois. Dr. Zotz and everyone in the office are amazing; couldn’t recommend enough!

High praise for this office! Diann, young lady that checks everybody in is always friendly, helpful, clear with instructions and super organized. Always a short wait before heading back. The staff is professional, respectful and friendly and I have seen a couple nurse practitioners (Angie, Abby and Rachel) who are fabulous! I first started coming here when I was 15 with Dr. Harold Nord and Miss Crystal and then moved away for about 10 years. I had my son while living in another state and then my last 3 when we moved back. My daughter had complications and wouldn’t have wanted to go through it with anybody else. Dr. Nord and staff were heartfelt, concerned and respectful and walked through the journey with me. She eventually passed at 7 months pregnant and Dr. Nord broke the news to me and he along with Dr. Dalton helped me through the delivery. As heartbroken as I was, I was so thankful to have Dr. Nord and Dr. Dalton. Then I went through infertility for the next couple of years and everybody was great and genuine while they saw me struggle through it. During this time Dr. Nord passed away so we all struggled through it. I have since had 2 girls and Dr. Dalton and staff including Tori, the sonographer were amazing. High risk pregnancies are no joke and dealing with thoughts of what already happened were always on my mind but I left my appointments feeling confident, informed and updated on the latest with each baby. These visits also require several extra visits and toward the end multiple times a week. They were above and beyond the best! Many staff members have been there a long time and great to see familiar faces and welcoming smiles. I highly recommend them for all!

I have loved Heart of Illinois OBGYN since my first appointment. I can really feel the love of Jesus coming from Dr. Dalton and the team. So thankful for them!

They are over the top considerate of your time, your feelings, every aspect of your visit from the receptionist, nurse, office manager to check out! They worked me in and had me on my way in less than 30 minutes. Very professional and most of all kind. I would highly recommend this Doctor and her staff to anyone.

I have worked in many medical offices and seen my share of doctors due to insurance changes through the years. In my experience, it is rare to find a staff and outstanding physician who compliment each other to provide the best patient experience. This office is a rarity. Every staff member I have encountered has led with professionalism and empathy. After meeting Dr. Zotz, I realized that the staff were mirroring his strengths within his practice. I am so thankful to be in the care of this practice. For once, I feel like my provider and support staff have my best interest at heart.

I highly recommend Dr Dalton and her office. She has a gentle and kind bedside manner and is wonderful about listening to her patient’s concerns before recommending a course of action. Her love for God and her patients is greatly evident in her office. She is not a cookie-cutter physician; I loved that she is thoughtful about interventions and there is sound reasoning behind her decisions. Her staff is wonderful & respectful. We had a wonderful delivery of our twin girls with her! I’d choose her to deliver our girls all over again in a heartbeat!

Everyone is so welcoming, and friendly. Dr. Zotz has been amazing at answering any questions we may have. After struggling with getting pregnant for 3 years, he was more informative my first appointment than any other obgyn. He treats his patients with respect, and not just like another number. The Creighton Model of Fertility taught me how my body naturally works, and we were able to get pregnant after using it for two months. We can’t thank Dr. Zotz, and Erica Miller enough for helping us get pregnant, when we thought for so long that we never would.

I would give this office all the stars! You walk in and immediately feel welcomed. The staff, nurses, NP, and doctors are all wonderful. I followed Dr. Zotz when he made the move from Pontiac to Bloomington because hes that great. Ive never felt rushed during appointments. You can tell he listens. He will sit back and answer any questions or fears to may have. He may not think this but I believe hes the reason I have my two kiddos today; he helped my husband and I through the toughest times with compassion and guidance. I cant say enough good things about him, obviously. Ive also met with Dr. Dalton a few times and she is just as sweet and caring. You cant go wrong choosing this team to care for you.

Dr. Dalton is an exceptional doctor. She is so attentive, kind, and compassionate. I moved to Bloomington at around 27 weeks of my pregnancy, so I was nervous to switch providers. She instantly put me at ease. She respected my birthing wants (I was low risk). She never made me feel stupid or rushed me. After I gave birth, I got in to her office the same day I called with a concern.The nursing staff is also outstanding. Everyone is very nice and it’s clear they enjoy their working environment.Due to Dr. Dalton’s own medical issues, Dr. Zotz delivered my son. He is a wonderful doctor as well!I cannot say enough good things about the doctors and staff here.

I have had a great experience at every appointment so far! The office is very nice and clean and the staff is all great and friendly! Im looking forward to continuing to see them throughout my pregnancy and would recommend this office to anyone!

I have never had anything but top notch care from this office. From dealing with complicated issues to a regular visit and even pregnancy HOI has always been so kind, compassionate, and professional. I switched from another OBGYN office to HOI several years ago after being unhappy with my care and it was the best decision I could have made. Heart of Illinois OBGYN has consistently provided excellent obstetrics and gynecology care with the kindest and most understanding staff I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Their team has helped me through multiple losses and the delivery of my beautiful daughter, and I felt truly cared for, listened to, and encouraged throughout each of those experiences. Dr. Dalton and Dr. Zotz are both incredibly kind and so knowledgeable about family planning, infertility, and special conditions like PCOS (all of which I have leaned on them to navigate). I wholeheartedly recommend this OBGYN office without hesitation.

Recently move from AZ to IL, this was my first time being seen there. The customer service from the receptionist made a big difference in my experience there. She set the tone for my first visit and I had the same great experience from beginning to end!

After a very trying experience during my fiancé and I’s TTC journey an amazing friend of mine highly recommended going to Heart of Illinois to see Dr. Zotz. After over a year of feeling discouraged and dismissed by doctors in my local area meeting with Dr. Zotz has now given us so much hope! He and Shelbi(his amazing nurse) provided such wonderful patient care and really took the time to listen and understand which is something I haven’t had in this journey and am so thankful for. The other staff members we met were also so kind and caring!

Dr. Dalton is everything you could ever want in a doctor, and more. She delivered my second son and I continue to see her for regular care. She is brilliant, one of the kindest people I have ever met, genuinely compassionate, patient, and a great listener. Her staff is also wonderful. I feel so lucky that she was recommended to me and recommend her to other women whenever I can.

Dr. Dalton delivered my baby girl and she is the most patient and kindest doctor ever! No matter what question you ask however silly it is that you found on the internet Dr. Dalton will answer all your questions with a huge smile on her face. I have had the best experience with everyone at HOIOBGYN. Ask for nurse Alani if you are scared of needles or its always hard to find your veins. She is the best at blood draws. Whenever you call to leave a VM for a nurse with a question you will always get a callback. Your questions will never be ignored. All the nurse practitioners and doctors at HOIOBGYN are extremely kind and if we decide to have a second child I would definitely want Dr. Dalton to deliver our second baby. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making my pregnancy journey easier and memorable 💓

Dr. Dalton is a great listener and a very compassionate physician. She is never in a hurry to get onto the next patient. The staff as a whole is kind as well.

Truly could not recommend their office more. Everyone is always very nice and friendly. They each take the time to go over everything with you. Even though most women don’t enjoy going to the gyno, they really do make it as painless and easy as possible.

This was especially important to me during my pregnancy during the COVID19 pandemic. Families are welcome and celebrated here! My Littles have always been encouraged to join in on appointments, which has been so special to us. Dr. Dalton’s dedication to ensuring her patients have the type of birth they desire is evident in the advocacy and care she offers during the entire labor and delivery experience. This office is a gift to our family and our community.

Excellent providers and staff here. Everyone is friendly in the office whether youre calling or in person. Dr. Dalton delivered my youngest child after I moved to the area at 36 weeks pregnant (a pregnancy is typically 40 weeks). The nurse practitioners are very helpful for medication needs.

Amazing care! I thoroughly enjoyed the procedure (maybe a little too much 🤣). However, I was disappointed to wake up from the anesthetic and find 2 and 3 quarters of my labia missing, how silly! Thank you for your services!

Very friendly staff! Dr. Zots has an amazing team. The staff is awesome especially NUrse Angie Klein. I love the care that I receive here. They are wonderful at helping with the stress and worries of pregnancy.

Dr. Dalton is an amazing doctor and has been my OB for both pregnancies. I couldnt be happier . Also all the nurse practitioners are amazing and very helpful with any questions or concerns you have as well . its an amazing team of caregivers.

Dr. Dalton is absolutely wonderful. She saw me through every appointment and every single concern during my pregnancy and always made sure that none of my questions went unanswered. She delivered my son in December and I cold not be happier with the level of care that my little one and I received while seeing her.

I came to HOI OBGYN because I was unhappy with my original provider. My expectations were blown away and I am so happy to have found this office. The entire staff is incredibly kind and I feel that they truly care about my wellbeing. We cannot thank Dr. Zotz enough for all that he has done for us. We transferred to him after our original doctor moved which is when I found out I was pregnant. He has always been very proactive in my treatment and we have been so impressed with his knowledge, attention to detail, willingness to listen, and friendly demeanor. I never doubted for a minute during my pregnancy that my baby and I were in good hands. My delivery was a wonderful experience, even with it being an urgent cesarean. I have only ever had two doctors pray for me; the doctor who helped us conceive our son and Dr. Zotz. We are so thankful to have an OB whose faith in God shows in the work that he does. We are forever grateful to him and that God lead us to him.

Hands down the best best OBGYN practice I have ever been to. I learned things I didnt know and Dr. Dalton was and her staff were so kind. I hate going to the girl doctor but my experience has changed my mind. Thank you!

I am only a little over 9 weeks into my pregnancy and I cannot even begin to tell you how helpful HOI OBGYN has been already. I drive an hour and 15 min. to come here because it’s absolutely worth it. My nearby OBGYN offices can’t compare. Sometimes it feels like I call them daily and they never act like I am a bother to them. They have already brought me in to check the heartbeat when I was feeling anxious, no questions asked. I see Dr. Zotz, and the two times I have seen him he has been so helpful, understanding, and reassuring. Any questions you ask, he tells you if he doesn’t know (but will find the answer) and explains very thoroughly when he does know. I can’t say enough good about them. The other staff have been great as well. Excited to be on this journey with this office.

I went to HoI ObGyn with a suspected misdiagnosis from a previous gynecologist. From my first appointment to my most recent, I always knew I was being heard. Dr. Zotz diligently tried different treatment options for me until we found the appropriate diagnosis. The nurses and NPs are all genuinely nice and it was always comforting to know my phone calls and concerns would be addressed same day. My particular diagnosis is somewhat rare so having a team dedicated to helping me find answers eased my anxieties in this medical journey of mine. Highly recommend Dr. Zotz and the HoI ObGyn family.

I loved this office! I hadnt been to a gynecologist in at least 22 to 25 years. Dr Zotz made me feel completely comfortable and at ease! I will definitely go back, and I wont wait so long this time! HahaI loved the scripture on the wall and the fact that they would be willing to pray with me! Thats a warm fuzzy to me!

I see Dr. Zotz at Heart of Illinois OB/GYN. He just delivered my third child, and of the OB physicians I’ve seen, he’s the best doctor I’ve had. He’s very thorough and takes time to answer questions and explain things. He’s also knowledgeable about charting and tracking cycles, which is important to me. I have had only positive experiences with this office and highly recommend them.

They took me in late in my pregnancy and have been absolutely amazing...super supportive and very attentive to my concerns especially with me catching covid twice in this pregnancy...highly recommend them and will be staying with them

I’ve seen other obgyns in Bloomington but once I found dr Dalton no one has ever compared she is the best dr I have ever had and I would never recommend anyone but her she is absolutely amazing and the whole staff is just great overall i cannot say enough good things about her or this office

Dr. Zotz is the absolute best Gynecologist I have ever met. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend them!
