Mt. Shuksan Family Medicine and Dermatology

I just had my first experience at Mt. Shuksan with Danae Johnson and I have NEVER been treated with so much kindness, respect, and agency as I have by her. She clearly [actually] cares about her patients and their experience in the medical system and was also very open about wanting to take in information regarding past traumatic medical experiences and past traumas in general. What an amazing gift to the community to have a trauma-informed provider who makes patients feel safe, seen and valued. She is a gem and Im so glad I was able to get in with her, I actually cant recommend her enough!

Michele is amazing. She takes the time to fully evaluate your needs and offers a variety of options to consider.She’s very knowledgeable thoughtful and kind.Awesome with women’s needs.

Every provider I have seen here has been wonderful, caring, informative, and so kind. Ive been a patient for years and have never felt so heard and cared for, as I have here. Their front staff is kind and super helpful, their nurses are excellent, and each doctor is exceptional. Would recommend to anyone looking for a thoughtful provider.

I have a lot of anxiety about seeking medical care, but Michele Ingram immediately put me at ease. She took the time to really listen to me, and she did a wonderful job of educating me about the issues I’m navigating without talking down or shaming me. I felt truly seen and cared for. I found this place via google, looking for some place to get my pap, the office was wonderful! It was calm and everyone was so nice. They got me in on time for my appointment. I would recommend this place to everyone!

Everyone at Mt. Shuksan Family Medicine is so friendly and considerate, making the whole experience of everything from annual physicals to specialized visits feel easy and relaxed. The whole team is five stars across the board, and I can’t recommend the team enough. From Austin, JoJo, Monika, Michele (love the extra takeaway messages at the end of each appt), and everyone else at the office, I’ve always felt so cared for, heard and looked after.

Michele met with me to discuss HRT and a couple other concerns. She was great! I not only appreciate having a woman to talk to about all things menopause but also the office space is lovely! No sterile harsh lights here…thought has been put into each room so the space feels inviting and nice😊She also gave me a ton of great information about HRT, I feel like I’m in very good hands🧘

My first time in. I was nervous about seeing a gynecologist after so long, but Michele Ingram was amazing. She listened to my concerns and made ne feel heard. After so long with a male dr that just didnt get it, she understood my issues and made a plan!

Dr. Michele made me feel so heard and cared for. TTC is sometimes a difficult and lonely journey and I finally feel like I am in capable hands. All staff at the office was warm and welcoming. Actually looking forward to future appointments. Very thankful for this positive experience. Can not recommend enough.

This is a great in-person clinic. My PCP is wonderful, I love that she has reading suggestions when I bring up a topic of concern. I feel empowered to take hold of my health. The gal who walks me back and takes my vitals is a breath of fresh air in the typically stuffy medical practice.However, anytime I call I have a terrible interaction with a particular person, and I get the sense she hates talking on the phone as much as I do. I feel dismissed, spoken down to, and issues of concern are disregarded (One time I called about a RX refill and she was no help).This last time I asked for an email I could send future questions to so I dont have to interact with her going forward. Even if shes the one who responds to them directly. I wont have to end a phone call feeling like my inquires dont matter.

As a woman who put all healthcare on hold during the pandemic, I have several concerns about how to age in good health and spirit. Michelle immediately put me at ease and provided essential information and needed resources to get started. I left her office knowing I have work to do, but with a positive and compassionate plan. SO grateful to her and the staff at Mt Shuksan; they are stellar providers!

My in-person experience has always been great. Doctors and medical team provide excellent care when I’m there. But reaching the office by phone—whether to transfer a prescription, pay a bill, etc—is always a days long process. Leave a voicemail one day, call back the next when I haven’t heard back, get no answer, or I do, but the person I need to speak to is away and I have to leave a voicemail anyway. Two or three days of unanswered calls and voicemails have been a frequent occurrence over the last year. Deeply frustrating.

Extremely kind and caring doctor and facility. Dr Ingram makes you feel comfortable and doesn’t rush you!

Monika is the best! I was told by my old provider (at another place) that my symptoms were due to stress. Monika actually listened to me and is finding the roots to my problems. She has great empathy and easy to talk to. In her care I am feeling the best I have felt in a long time. I highly recommend her! Her staff were also super nice to me. Thanks for everything!

Our two kids go here and they have been amazing. They have seen both Megan Gruber and Kirstin Curtis and we have had great experiences with both. Our daughter was sick for most of her first year and they always did an amazing job fitting her in at last minute and making sure she was taken care of. Lisa has always been great with the kids for shots and pre-visit check ups. They are always very thorough for their visits and make you, as a parent feel heard. I highly recommend them.

I had a great experience. All my questions were answered and I felt like my dermatology exam was thorough and really informative. I appreciated the extra time taken to provide me with additional education regarding my skincare.

I really, really wanted to like this place. I had so many personal referrals (not medical) for these folks. The MA I had each time was extremely rude. The receptionist never calls back -- this predates their phone problem and COVID. Fool me once, fool me twice... I did see a listing on Indeed though for the receptionist so mayhaps internally there was more follow up there. I get more personalized care from my dogs vet than I do here for choosing a small clinic over Peacehealth. Could be a consequence of all (and I do mean all) the failed callbacks. The last straw was being prescribed a medication and expressing concerns that were very confidently swept away by Ms. Curtis. Within 2 days I could not take the medication and almost passed out. Huge waste of $$$ for the consult and prescription when EXACTLY what I was concerned about and mentioned about the prescription happened.

Kirsten Curtis is great and she really listens to your concerns and addresses them during the same visit. Also, I like how you dont have to camp out in a waiting or exam room for an hour prior to the appointment; this place is timely and 99% more pleasant than most medical offices in the area.

I went to MSFM for 4 years and saw 3 amazing ARNPs, all who eventually left the practice. The last year, the level of care has really gone downhill. I had a painful foot issue misdiagnosed, was scheduled a week out for an appointment to get a suspicious lump checked out, and had a month-long wait to get birth control. The most recent snafu was trying to get the front desk staff to fax a referral to a specialist. I called several times over several days, never got through to a real person, and got no call back after leaving multiple voicemails. (This was apparently AFTER their major phone issue was fixed.) I eventually had to walk into the clinic in person and ask one of the two women working the front desk for the referral to be faxed. There was no apology for the inconvenience. I really liked this place initially as I think ARNPs are a great way to get high-quality healthcare without the major wait times that doctors have. Im now seeing another provider and am reminded how nice it is to have an issue dealt with promptly.

Went to the dermatologist for a large red spot on my face. To me it was obviously a medical issue, but the dermatologist told me that it was just dry skin and told me to use CERAVE(VERY THICK CREAM MOISTURIZER) for all my dermatologist needs. After 2 days of using the cream the spot was more inflamed and had spread even more and had developed some acne from the cream. Took a bunch of pictures and sent them an email asking for guidance and got zero response. No call, no email, no nothing. Got another appointment with a different dermatologist and within 2 minutes of talking with me diagnosed me with moderate rosacea and prescribed me a cream and an oral antibiotic. SO NOT JUST DRY SKIN. I also showed the new dermatologist the pictures I had sent to these folk and he said even just from the pictures I could diagnose this Mistakes happen but to ghost someone who is struggling with a facial rash after giving a poor diagnosis has made me pretty angry.Quick update. Dermatologist called me and basically blamed me for not reaching out in a better way because her staff archived the email.

A few years ago I was on the hunt for a Primary care doctor and this place was the only one that accepted my insurance. So I decided to give it a shot. Every time I went in there they had no idea what was wrong with me. I felt like they were nice but they didnt have the knowledge I needed to hear. About a month ago or so I was told to go the ER because I was having chest issues that were ongoing. I went there and then returned to Mt. Shuksan for a post ER appointment. They sent me for a Echo and put me on a 2 week Zio monitor. When my results came in for my Echo they called me and said everything was fine.. But wanted me to have a visit to review my Zio monitor results when they came in. I asked for it to be a in office visit so I could go over a couple other things. I was called a week prior to my visit and told that it has been changed to a tele visit. (If I wanted it to be a in office visit it was going to be another couple weeks.) I was annoyed but did the tele visit anyways. I just wanted my results. When talking to my doctor over the video chat I noticed that she was discussing my results from her BED. She was in bed talking to me about my results that were FINE. Something that they couldve just called me to tell me everything was good. But I couldnt even focus on what the doctor was saying because she was casually sitting in her bed under the covers. I felt like this was so unprofessional. The office called me a couple days later and said that they wanted to set me up with that in person consult with my doc to go over my results...... I told her that I ALREADY got them and had a visit with the doc already. Talk about disorganized. I asked to talk to the office manager. Told her that I refuse to pay for that service. She said that she would bill my insurance and if there was anything else due from my portion that she would write it off. This whole place is terrible. I am now on the hunt for a new PC. This place needs to get their stuff together. This is peoples HEALTH youre dealing with. I wouldnt recommend going here.** In response to the reply on my post:You still billed my insurance and didn’t charge me for the remainder so you guys still technically got money from me. The cost is not the issue here. The issue is that I asked to have my results released to me and you refused to release them to me over the phone/email. Then I asked to have an in person consult and no one followed up with me until the doctor was ready to have a tele conference with me. Basically forcing me to get my results that way. Covid is hard on everybody and if you can’t manage to run a medical facility then I don’t think you should be open. Having a conversation with a doctor while she is sitting in her bed is unprofessional. If she doesn’t have a place to have a conversation appropriately then she shouldn’t have them at home. Again... shouldn’t be operating if things like this are happening. I to work in a medical facility and know that all of this experience is extremely unprofessional and unorganized. This all could’ve been avoided by just giving my results like I had asked. Sorry you’re dealing with the effects of covid but that doesn’t make this situation okay. Dr. Gruber and Dr. Pearson have both been great to work with. They happily answer all of my (many) questions and I always feel comfortable in their office and under their care. Staff are friendly and professional as well. This has been and will continue to be my primary care team. Highly recommended.

Highest praise to Megan for painlessly removing a large 3/4 inch sliver from the top of my thumb. She was highly professional, explaining each stage of the procedure, providing me with options, and allowing me to be a part of the path forward. Taking the bandage off 2 days later revealed a very clean wound, minimal incision area and no sign of infection. Her work was truly impressive.

Have had a medical and dermatology appointment recently and both were great experiences. I felt very comfortable asking questions. Everyone seemed very knowledgeable!

There are positive and negative aspects to this clinic. I think M. Gruber is well informed and professional. However the time taken to address certain medical concerns feels rushed in some instances and not in others. I did go there recently for a visit, and was 6 min. late due to accidentally burning my arm at home. I was very surprised that the office staff and the clinical staff did not have burn ointment available. I had to endure the burn pain on my arm during my visit, since after being told by the medical aide that M. Gruber would look at my injury, M. Gruber told me she did not have time. I do understand staff being tight on time, and I do know I had arrived a few min late, but again, very surprised that my discomfort was not addressed, especially since this clinic specializes in dermatology. That being said, my gynecological visits have always been thorough and I do appreciate the clear and prompt answers I receive from M. Gruber regarding my gynecological health care and the extra time she took to address some home care remedies.

The best healthcare providers i’ve ever had! monika is so understanding and knowledgeable of everything. all of the staff are so sweet and they make appointments quickly if i ever have any issues :)

The office does not answer phone calls. Each time I have called over the last year and a half I have had to leave a message and it takes hours, sometimes days, to receive a return call regarding scheduling an appointment. I called this morning and over 4 hours later have not had a return call. I wasn’t going to leave a review however, this has been a consistent issue. I found a new provider today and have an appointment scheduled elsewhere.

If I could give zero stars I would. IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of on the phone. Tried making an appointment online and got denied. Sat on the phone for hours trying to get a hold of them and still nothing. If you want a place that cares about you as a patient, then youre better off taking your business elsewhere.
